Staff were helpful in getting us seated within 20 minutes or so but not super friendly or attentive. We had a large party of 9 and didn't receive much communication after the initial greeting on how long it would take or if we wanted to start reviewing the menu. Once we were seated, it took awhile for us to be greeted by our server. However, once our server came over he was very polite and the rest of the service went pretty smoothly. What can I say about our trip to Olive Garden? A couple of things, I think. Our server had a strange vibe. He repeatedly told us that he was too busy and that our service would be slow... in a relatively empty restaurant. My friend ordered the shrimp scampi, we watched him touch a shrimp with his bare hand and then found his hair in the dish. He also lowkey threw some straws at her and it was strange. Overall the service was slow and it seemed like we were ruining his day by being there. He was also strange with the little Olive Garden mints. I would be hesitant to return and don't really think any of us left satisfied. Not to mention my order came out wrong and my wonderful girlfriend probably got overcharged for her meal! He the asked us to lie and rate him highly on the little kiosk survey. Sorry pal, not gonna happen. read more

Service - 1/5 Server was inattentive. My drink stayed empty for the entire visit. Even after asking for a refill, twice. Forgot my son's meal, but we fed him off our plates. I didn't realize my wife had even ordered for him until the end. Food - 1/5 Ordered the Tour of Italy. Alfredo noodles were old and hard. Lasagna was under an inch thick. Everything was, quite clearly, microwaved. Can't speak for anyone else's food, but mine was rough at best. I've had much better at Fazolis, for 1/3 the cost. Listen, it's expensive everywhere. We all get it. Things like service are where you can make it worth it, or make it a last visit. This was a last visit. $140+ for something I could get better from a Safeway is a lot to swallow, especially without a drink during an entire meal. The only good thing on this visit was the tea, too bad I only had a cup of it. read more

We were really excited to eat pasta and my dad loves Olive Garden. We eat out a lot and rarely have a bad experience but unfortunately this was one of them. The waitress was very personable and friendly we didn't have an issue with her. However the manager is a different story. We spoke to him regarding an issue with a refusal to serve alcohol just because an ID was vertical. We were confused because according to the law, alcohol should've been able to be served being that we were out of staters and had been long past turning 21. Sadly, he was rude and condescending and really didn't seem to see our perspective. He still refused to serve us alcohol. Hopefully they can implement new training because it worries me that this is the guy who's running things. You're better off going to the fat olive. read more

Poor management For starters our server Sofia was absolutely wonderful. She was super friendly and very attentive. So this 1 star review does not reflect her in anyway. Our problem was with the manager Carlos. My 22 year old son was visiting from another state. We typically like to support the family owned restaurants but pasta sounded good. My son ordered an alcohol drink and when we showed Sofia his ID she informed him that per her corporation she was not allowed to serve alcohol to anybody if they had a vertical ID. She apologized profusely and we totally understood she was doing her job. Since that had never happened to us before, and we travel a lot, we looked up the law. The law did state that AZ residents must have the horizontal ID no matter how old you are in order to order alcohol but out of staters are exempt from that. No problem. So we just gave our server a heads up. She did the right thing and said "oh okay, let me get my manager." Perfect So our intention was just to tell the manager to give him a heads up so maybe he can let their corporate office know about the exemption for out of staters. That's it. So Carlos the manager comes over and says to us "you had an ID issue?" My husband says "just a heads up for the future, but we just looked up the law, and according to the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control out of staters are exempt from having to have a horizontal license if they want to order alcohol and we have the copy." We thought Carlos would have had a professional response and said something to the effect as "I'll have to look into that" or something to that effect. Rather he totally deflected it upon us and says "well my question to you is...." turns to my son and asks " why haven't YOU updated your license?" It totally caught us off guard. And we all said "he's not from here." So at first my son's response was "just haven't taken time to do it" but we were all baffled. Not expecting that deflection. Once Carlos walked away we said to each other " where my son's from you don't have to change your vertical ID to a horizontal ID if you're 21. Our state wants your license to expire before you order a new one. So why in the world would we change it if it's not needed." Carlos's deflection making it seem like it was our fault rather than saying "I should look into that." Made us lose our appetite. My son and I packed up our food and left and will never return. We just expected a more professional response from a manager read more

I'm visiting from New York and stopped by this Olive Garden in Flagstaff with a friend, expecting a decent meal. Unfortunately, it turned into one of the worst dining experiences I've had. The food tasted off -- like it had been sitting out way too long -- and within a few hours, both of us got really sick. I won't go into all the details, but let's just say it completely ruined the rest of our night. I've been to other Olive Garden locations and never had an issue, but this one needs serious attention when it comes to food quality and freshness. And that includes restaurants in Scottsdale, Los Angeles, Miami, Dayton, etc, etc. He was kind, attentive, even when my friend took FOREVER to decide what she wanted to eat, then changed her mind, he was patient and checked back frequently. First of all, Howard was a wonderful server: attentive, informative, and friendly without being overbearing. And say what you will about chains... I don't know why people purposely down-star chains. I love the fact that I can go to an Olive Garden in Florida or Flagstaff, and know exactly what I'm getting. Yeah, I love and check out local fare, but sometimes, I want what I know we'll be great. The salad is always cold, tasty, and crunchy--and bottomless. The breadsticks, hot, tasty, and as many as you care to eat. And the meals, I've ordered the same thing for 35 years--even though it's technically no longer on the menu--and it's always yummy. Hubby tries different things...and it's always great. First impression, not super impressed with the hosts up front. After working in the industry so long, there a simple things like eye contact, greeting and simply not having three people standing around doing nothing when there are clearly things that need done. Love an Olive Garden though. Consistency is important in a chain, but a great serve like Cam sets it apart. He was very quick with our drinks. Took the liberty of splitting our shared dish and when over hearing how much I love the mints, brought me my own handful so I didn't have to share with my friend. On October 4th around 6 PM a large black dog was running down the sidewalk and veered off into the street twice and almost got hit. I was super concerned because I didn't want him getting hurt so we pulled off the main road into the turn lane for Red Lobster and Olive Garden because the dog ran over there. He/she wouldn't come when I called him so I yelled out to a few customers in the parking lot letting them know that the dog was there because I didn't want anyone to get hurt. One of them(an older gentleman who was dirty(not bathing regularly clearly by a white SUV with a woman) with black jeans, baseball cap, and glasses) came over and then immediately started saying he didn't care if the dog died or someone got bit or hurt from the dog. I told him ok then get away from the car and tried to warn someone else but he wouldn't shut up or get away from the car. He just wanted to keep repeating that he didn't care if anyone got hurt. What a weirdo. I lost track of the dog because he wouldn't shut up or get away from the car and threatened me when I repeated that he needed to shut up and get away from the car. Expressing over and over that you don't care if people get hurt is sociopathic and weird and he took that incident and tried to make it about him. So gross. Another woman was also trying to help in her car and I hope she had better luck. Hopefully the dog and the other normal customers are ok. Obviously Olive Garden is still awesome because they are not responsible for unhinged customers that eat at their establishment or the business next door. On another note their pasta, salad, and breadsticks are always fantastic. They've got it down to a science and this is why there are always people outside waiting to get in. Arrived and it was very busy no problem. Service: Terrible. Ordered to-go and she did not honor the $12.99 baked pasta specials being advertised on TV. I had to pick something close. She gave sodas as a way to pacify not honoring the special. Food: Ordered rigatoni style noodles and they were not fully cooked and it was not fresh made pasta. I had a couple of issues here, but I'm going to give them 4 Stars because my server was a rockstar, the Manager was responsive, they worked hard to correct my issues, and everyone else in my party enjoyed their meals. We were seated immediately after walking in, everyone was friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant and restrooms were clean. I ordered the Eggplant Parmigiana, which is my favorite meal at Olive Garden. Our food arrived fresh and hot at the table within 15 minutes. Everyone's food looked great. I took a bite of my eggplant and it was hot, crisp and tasty. But when I went to take a bite of my spaghetti, there was a long dark hair mixed in with it. When my server came over to check on us, I brought this to her attention. She was very apologetic and quickly grabbed my plate and hurried to the kitchen. My second plate was delivered to the table within 10 minutes, however, this time my spaghetti tasted gummy and undercooked. I didn't want to complain again, but it was inedible. To make sure it just wasn't me, I had my spouse taste it, and he said it tasted like it was undercooked and had been sitting in water. The server came back and was embarrassed this time. She was so sweet and generally cared to help make it right. This time, I kept eating the eggplant, but scraped the spaghetti off into a bowl that the server took back to the kitchen. Minutes later, she came back with the manager. The manager apologized and said he tasted the batch of spaghetti and confirmed it was bad. He said he had the cooks throw it out, and they were making a fresh batch. He also offered me a free desert of my choice for all the trouble. When I received my 3rd side of spaghetti, it tasted great and was perfectly cooked. Overall, I really appreciate how our server and the manager handled the situation. I was treated with understanding and respect as they worked to improve the issues. I know things happen, so I waited patiently for them to work it out. I'd definitely return here again the next time I have time to sit and eat in Flag Staff. Btw... My desert was delicious!! read more

I have been into this Olive Garden a handful of times throughout my years up in flagstaff. I came in a month-ish ago and had Howie as my server. I continue to come in but request Howie every time! Just went for lunch today and it was exceptional! The staff greeted us when we walked in & Howie was so kind and speedy with his service.
