Our server Jacob absolutely made my whole week!!!! Genuinely the best service I've ever had at an establishment. His posture while cranking cheese into my dish was upright and powerful. Thank you.

    Smiley face :)

Jacob was awesome! Set the tone for me and my friend's entire lunch with a great smile and cheery attitude. I just know his service here always brightens his tables' day.

What can I say about our trip to Olive Garden? A couple of things, I think. Our server had a strange vibe. He repeatedly told us that he was too busy and that our service would be slow... in a relatively empty restaurant. My friend ordered the shrimp scampi, we watched him touch a shrimp with his bare hand and then found his hair in the dish. He also lowkey threw some straws at her and it was strange. Overall the service was slow and it seemed like we were ruining his day by being there. He was also strange with the little Olive Garden mints. I would be hesitant to return and don't really think any of us left satisfied. Not to mention my order came out wrong and my wonderful girlfriend probably got overcharged for her meal! He the asked us to lie and rate him highly on the little kiosk survey. Sorry pal, not gonna happen.

Poor management For starters our server Sofia was absolutely wonderful. She was super friendly and very attentive. So this 1 star review does not reflect her in anyway. Our problem was with the manager Carlos. My 22 year old son was visiting from another state. We typically like to support the family owned restaurants but pasta sounded good. My son ordered an alcohol drink and when we showed Sofia his ID she informed him that per her corporation she was not allowed to serve alcohol to anybody if they had a vertical ID. She apologized profusely and we totally understood she was doing her job. Since that had never happened to us before, and we travel a lot, we looked up the law. The law did state that AZ residents must have the horizontal ID no matter how old you are in order to order alcohol but out of staters are exempt from that. No problem. So we just gave our server a heads up. She did the right thing and said "oh okay, let me get my manager." Perfect So our intention was just to tell the manager to give him a heads up so maybe he can let their corporate office know about the exemption for out of staters. That's it. So Carlos the manager comes over and says to us "you had an ID issue?" My husband says "just a heads up for the future, but we just looked up the law, and according to the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control out of staters are exempt from having to have a horizontal license if they want to order alcohol and we have the copy." We thought Carlos would have had a professional response and said something to the effect as "I'll have to look into that" or something to that effect. Rather he totally deflected it upon us and says "well my question to you is...." turns to my son and asks " why haven't YOU updated your license?" It totally caught us off guard. And we all said "he's not from here." So at first my son's response was "just haven't taken time to do it" but we were all baffled. Not expecting that deflection. Once Carlos walked away we said to each other " where my son's from you don't have to change your vertical ID to a horizontal ID if you're 21. Our state wants your license to expire before you order a new one. So why in the world would we change it if it's not needed." Carlos's deflection making it seem like it was our fault rather than saying "I should look into that." Made us lose our appetite. My son and I packed up our food and left and will never return. We just expected a more professional response from a manager

I order the fettuccine sauce to go often and it is always 1/2 cup short of a pint. My kids are obsessed with it or I'd stop buying.

Do not give into the one star reviews... this place is a gem!…read more We had excellent service and a bit of everything. The caprese appetizer was delicious... kind of a nice take the way it's served and plated. The large Cesar salad was a good size for two people... nothing out of the ordinary but good for the price. For entrees we did the Lemon Ricotta and the Portobello Ravioli they were both very good. The pasta that's made daily is clearly fresh and done right... I haven't had good pasta like this in a minute. We also did a coffee with the cannolis... wow one of the best cannolis I've ever had the cream is out of this world! The restaurant itself is lively... so probably not the best for a quiet romantic type dinner. I will say it is our 15 year anniversary and we enjoyed, but we are loud people The server Alexis was fantastic! Very attentive and on top of things. We will definitely be back next time we're in town.

The noodles though!

The restaurant itself was clean and had a stylish modern-meets-vintage vibe that made the atmosphere feel both cozy and upscale. Their cocktail menu was especially unique. I ordered the Vendetta Ride, and it was easily one of my favorite drinks of the night: light, slightly sweet, and finished with just the right kick. I absolutely loved it. The menu features creative contemporary American cuisine with an emphasis on sharing plates, which made the experience even more fun. We ordered two appetizers, two mains, and a dessert, and overall everything was excellent. My only critique would be the Duck Taquitos. The duck flavor was not there, and the mesquite mole sauce leaned too sweet for my taste. Aside from that, every dish impressed us. Overall, it was a fantastic meal and a great dining experience. I would highly recommend this spot if you're in Flagstaff!

I've spent years seeking out restaurants worth traveling for. I don't just eat to eat--I plan…read moreentire trips around food. Hospitality matters to me just as much as what's on the plate because great restaurants don't just serve meals; they create memories. Unfortunately, Shift became one I'll never forget for the wrong reasons. Our day couldn't have been further from what the staff assumed. We spent the morning hiking, went back to rest, explored a local bookstore, grabbed ice cream, and walked to our dinner reservation. Not one alcoholic drink had been consumed by anyone in our group the entire day. Not one. We also had a child with us. The only conversation we had with the host before being seated was asking whether it was okay that we had arrived about twenty minutes early for our reservation. We were polite, excited, and looking forward to dinner. Then my husband ordered a beer. The waitress immediately refused because she claimed the hostess believed my husbands speech and mannerisms meant he was intoxicated. Read that again. A guest who had consumed zero alcohol all day was judged to be intoxicated. I understand the responsibility restaurants have. If someone is genuinely impaired, absolutely don't serve them. Every responsible restaurant should protect its guests and its liquor license. But there is an equally important responsibility that seems to have been forgotten: making sure your judgment is actually right before labeling someone. There was no bar crawl. No cocktails beforehand. No wine tasting. No brewery stop. No hidden drinks. There wasn't even one drink. We left feeling embarrassed, confused, and honestly caught off guard. Not because a beer was refused, but because a person was reduced to an assumption based solely on how they naturally presented themselves. Here's what makes the experience even harder to understand. After leaving Shift, we walked to Atria, where we remained for approximately two hours. We talked, enjoyed ourselves, and spent the evening there without issue. If someone in our party had truly been intoxicated wouldn't that have been obvious there as well? It wasn't. Food can be good. Cocktails can be creative. Service can be polished. None of that matters if hospitality disappears the moment someone doesn't fit your expectation of what a guest "should" look or sound like. Maybe perhaps because we weren't locals we seemed off ? To anyone considering Shift, especially if you're traveling with someone whose speech, mannerisms, or disability could be misunderstood, know that this was our experience. I hope the restaurant reflects on what happened and asks itself a difficult question: How many guests have we mistaken for being intoxicated when, in reality, they simply communicated differently? Because that's not just a missed beer. That's a missed opportunity to treat someone with dignity. I came to Flagstaff excited to discover one of its most " creative" restaurants. Instead, I left wondering how quickly a restaurant built on hospitality could make a guest feel so unwelcome. Simply , because my husband is a restaurant manager in Las Vegas, who has managed restaurants like Yellowtail, Herbs&Rye, Gjelina, and Edo we left out of respect for the industry. However, we should have got our deposit automatically refunded. Next time, take the time. Take the time to care. If a staff member is under this assumption, management intervene not to just follow said assumption and repeat what she said, but to hold an actual conversation with your guest, to evaluate , to observe, to understand. I promise you, that would change so many things for you.

A Masterclass in Modern American Fine Dining…read more My recent dinner at Atria in downtown Flagstaff was, quite simply, an exceptional experience from start to finish. Chef Rochelle Daniel has created a space that perfectly balances upscale elegance with a warm, inviting atmosphere, making it a true standout in the region. We started the evening with their incredible oyster selection. The oysters with the cucumber granita were a masterclass in refreshing, clean flavors--a perfect, bright start to the meal. We also indulged in the oysters with caviar beurre blanc, which provided a stunning, decadent contrast; the richness of the beurre blanc paired with the briny pop of caviar was unforgettable. Another standout from the starters was the foie gras cornets--delicate, playful, and incredibly rich, they were a brilliant opening note for the palate. The beet salad was another highlight. Far from a simple starter, the charcoal-roasted preparation brought out a beautiful depth and earthiness, elevated by the perfect balance of creamy textures and crunchy toppings. For the main, the duck entrée was flawless. The skin was perfectly rendered, and the meat was incredibly tender, showcasing the kitchen's technical prowess. To complement the meal, we enjoyed a bottle of Michael David Inkblot Cabernet Franc. It was a fantastic choice--bold and velvety with those classic notes of dark fruit and a hint of spice that held up beautifully against the richness of the duck and the earthiness of the beets. What truly elevated the presentation was the stunning pottery. Every dish was served on beautiful, locally crafted ceramic pieces that added a tactile, artisanal feel to the table. It's a thoughtful detail that grounds the high-end cuisine in the spirit of Northern Arizona. We finished the evening on a high note with a round of perfectly pulled espressos and the coconut macaroons. The macaroons were the ideal final bite--crispy on the outside, wonderfully chewy on the inside, and just the right amount of sweetness to round out the experience. From the thoughtful presentation of every plate to the impeccable, knowledgeable service, everything about the evening felt intentional and memorable. Atria is not just a meal; it is a culinary experience that showcases the very best of Northern Arizona's ingredients. It is a must-visit.
