We ordered oysters, lobster bisque, filet mignon, scallop pasta, lobster mac and cheese, and I had an Old Fashioned. The oysters and bisque were both okay, the filet and pasta were decent, but honestly nothing really stood out. The biggest disappointment was the lobster mac and cheese. If you love lobster mac like I do and always order it when it's on the menu, I'd skip this one. It wasn't really mac and cheese at all. The sauce didn't taste cheesy, the presentation wasn't appealing, and it ended up being one of my least favorite versions I've had. Overall, it's a nice restaurant with a good atmosphere, but the food just didn't wow me. If someone invited me back for another celebration, I'd happily go. It just wouldn't be my first choice if I were picking the restaurant myself.

7/5 /25 Update 3/5 This has been a long time coming…read moreunfortunately. Ever since the previous owners sold the place the quality has dropped significantly. Consistency has been a major issue not only with food but with policy. When they first took over I'm sure there were some learning curves and maybe tweaks to the recipes. I wanted to give them a fair shot to get things right. Not sure if the old cooks stayed or if they got new ones? Did the new owners have the recipes changed? Did they change suppliers of ingredients, etc, I just don't know. What I can tell you though is that at least some of the dishes are different and are off from what I remember. The general Tao sauce I thought tasted different but necessarily bad. But combine that with a definite lack of crisp/crunch with the fried items and that's gonna be a problem for me. This time around, I only got the general tao beef because unlike my previous visit, they did not allow me to order the general tao beef in the combo plate as in upcharge (just last week or the week before it was allowed). I've been multiple times since the change in ownership. Partly because of the convenience of the location and partly because of the hope that whatever meal I eat at any given time will at least satisfy my fix for their type of Chinese American food. Unfortunately, the fried items I loved so much like orange chicken, sweet and sour pork and general tao beef alike are all severely lacking the crunch from the fry. As of late I've been getting the General Tao Beef to track consistency and it's been consistently under cooked in terms of the batter. The beef itself has been rubbery and to the point where I can't even break apart a piece and end up having to eat it whole lots of times. The other problem is that the pieces are large inconsistently cut (sometimes with, sometimes against the grain) strips making for a difficult chew. And because of the lack of crunch the fried battered outside just falls apart when you bite or try to cut it apart. The last two visits, but especially this one considering I ordered extra crunchy, were severely undercooked and soggy. it was to the point this time where I basically had to scrape off the majority of the batter and just eat the rubbery beef inside. It really does bring me pain to drastically drop the rating of a place that I once loved. I hope one day they can make the fixes so that I can continue to enjoy their food once again. I gave them a 3/5 but honestly, it probably should have been 2/5. I think the chicken with hot garlic sauce might be just good enough to keep it at 3/5 even though the last three times I ordered it. It was inconsistently hot (with cold spots) temperature wise.

The bartender welcomed us when we entered. We sat at the bar as we could look out the window and feel the heat from a heater. I had the calamari. It was perfect! The breading was crunchy. The calamari was tender. Hubby had a bacon cheese burger with onion rings. The burger was juicy and well seasoned. The onion rings were crispy and lightly coated. The dollars plastered on the ceiling and walls are fun to look at. You can't go wrong going to Haven Acres for lunch. We would return.

I had the pleasure of dining at the Sizzler in Manteca with a large family group, and Genevieve made the entire experience exceptional. Hello and i hope you read this last night i went to sizzler in manteca and had the worst service i have evered experienced anywhere not to metion watching a sizzler bus boy spit in his water ring out his rag and cleaned 5 tables i brought it up with my server and she spoke with the bus boy but he said who cares and than i spoke with the manager to after that no ever came back to clean those tables agin sat more customers down at them one couple had a young child that put his mouth on the table after that the bus boy walked by my table with a smile on his face agin spoke with the manager and he told me he talked to his employee and the employee said what was wrong with spiting in his water and washing tables if i were you i wouldnt go there that is disgusting and gross that is a health hazard and also you don't know if he had any sickness or anything I will not be going back to the Manteca Sizzler and if you read this you shouldn't either because the workers still works there and he thinks it's okay to do that so I hope you read this and now you have some knowledge Thank you read more

We met with my sister and brother in law this evening at Sizzler for steak dinner. Chance for the girls to catch up and for the guys to watch the Patriots/Chiefs playoff game. I knew that my favorite server Taylor was away at college so I was stuck with a new server. I hit the jackpot with Marcos. Marcos made sure that we wanted for nothing. My gauge of service at Sizzler is how well the server keeps me in cheese bread. Marcos didn't disappoint. Not only that, all of our food came out perfect as usual. This sizzler location is so much better than any other Sizzler I've been to. But, the main reason for such a glowing review is that we stayed at our table long after finishing dinner. the wait was non-existent! we got our ordered taken by Marcos who was very patient and helped explained the way everything worked out since it was our first time. i ordered a ribeye, the wife ordered salad bar. my steak was tender, juicy and marbled and by far exceeded my expectations. the salad bar looked clean and food was kept fresh. i loved how they mixed the salads! our server Larissa was very attentive and knew exactly what we needed before we even ask. our drinks were never empty, she took away the plates as soon as we were done so the table wasn't cluttered one bit, and plenty of napkins were provided. she was by far one of the best waitresses i've ever had the pleasure of being served by. she made our visit very enjoyable and i can definitely say we will be back! We can't say enough about the excellent service given to us while dining at this clean, and just plain wonderful restaurant, Our waitress Fabiola was fantastic and attended to our every need. The acting manager, Derek was very friendly and genuinely interested in our complete satisfaction. The restaurant is immaculate with wonderful 80's music at just the right sound level. The food was terrific (I had steak and lobster) and my son-in-law Dan loved the extremely appealing salad bar offerings. Daughter Debbie also enjoyed a scrumptious steak. I have been going to this location since it opened. In my opinion this is one of the best Sizzler locations. The service is always top notch and they are always quick and generous with the cheese bread (my favorite). I must admit that I was concerned when my favorite server went away to college but I now make sure that I am seated in Allie's section and she always takes great care of my group. She works hard to make sure that all of our needs are taken care of. As to the food quality, there are no complaints here either. My steak is always cooked properly and the food has always been delivered hot and fresh. This location is heads and shoulders above most of their other locations. read more

Chay was an excellent Server today. I think she was the only Server working while we dined - from our observation- and she excelled at taking care of all the diners. She was prompt with her service, had a beautiful smile, and was accurate. She also actually came by to check on us at least 2 more times after we were seated and she had served drinks and the best cheesy toast (do you think she made it? Perhaps she's one of Santa's Elves? My experience at Sizzler was a new one for me. Coming from Asia, the way of buffet here is different but interesting. I tried the steak, cooked just as I asked, and it was flavorful. The salad bar had many options, some familiar, some new. The restaurant had a comfortable atmosphere, with space for both quiet meals and family gatherings. Employees were polite and quick to help. Though some dishes were not what I'm used to in my homeland, the variety offered was a pleasant surprise. For the experience and the taste, I give Sizzler four stars. Excellent service today! We were helped at the register by a young lady named Alicia, she was very nice and kept our party laughing, very warm attitude and made sure we were all aware of the different menu options, our server was chloe and she was awesome too, she made sure to check up on us and made us feel very welcome. I admit it was a busy day, but you could understand why once you try the food. Sizzler always has such amazing hospitality, and great food! I'm back at this beautiful Sizzler restaurant in Manteca for a late lunch. Oh my, they started up their outdoor BBQ. I ordered the Mesquite Wood Smoked Tri-Tip. Amazingly over the top best Tri-Tip ever. They say it's Certified Angus Beef Tri Tip and it begins with starting with the best in quality. Well it sure satisfied my appetite. I also ordered the Salad bar and not only did the salad products look great as pictured, but tasted fresh and flavor able. I'm still very impressed with Sizzler. You've come a long way !! read more

Brought my mother in law here from out of town. The server was amazing! Kaylee was so nice and such a pleasure. She was proactive and had extra napkins on the table before we could even ask. Refills were always on the table before our drinks were gone. The managers were very pleasant and kid to my children (even offering to hold our baby). The service was superior. The salad bar was fresh and clean. My mother in law and husband really enjoyed their seabass and burger. Loved our visit and will definitely come back!! read more

We love the food and service, the owners are fantastic as are the managers, especially Richard. I brought a large party (25 ladies) for a birthday party yesterday and they bent over backwards to make sure everything was perfect. Some of the ladies had not been to this Sizzler yet, (too crowded) but they have now made this their favorite restaurant. Johana is a perfect hostess and always makes us feel at home. WONT EVER GO BACK!!! I ordered steak and shrimp and a salad bar, with my wife. By the end of our meal that consisted of only one trip to the salad bar, we were told by a manager that we couldn't share ANY of our food. Wtf?!!! Are these the fN food police? I actually thought there was no way they would feed me, but due to a customer minded Manager, they did. One of my best experiences at a restaurant. I love BBD for breakfast or dinner. The portion size of all meals is very stisfactory and the quality of food, the same. Great experience. Of course, I will continue to patronize BBD anytime I'm passing through the area and need a meal. I just wish there was a BBD in Stockton. We knew what we wanted and everything was served hot and was delicious. We appreciated the fast service although, we were in no rush. We were on vacation and very much in vacation mode.
