This is a long overdue review...I love this spa, and I love the esthetician, Michelle, that does my facials. She's very knowledgeable and personable, and takes great notes of what my concerns are, and always communicates with me before the service. She also noted in the file of what products I am allergic to just so my skin doesn't react badly after the service. I have been seeing her for a few years now, but recently I moved across town and it's been difficult coming here because of the distance and traffic, but I would still make it happen because that's how great my skin feels afterwards. Till this day I absolutely love the results, and I've gotten so many compliments on my skin, for this procedure I just go back for touch ups like once a year. This place has quickly gone downhill. I used to get a lot of services done at this place and loved the treatments. Not sure what happened within the last year, but staff have become VERY creepy. Some guy named michael kept smiling at me in a weird way and made me feel super uncomfortable. Long story short, but I wouldn't recommend this place unless you're looking to get creeped out. Upon entering, you will find a lovely, super clean environment with relaxing lighting and a fragrant ambience. 2) Heads-up though, my husband wanted a face-lift to look younger for his new job. Dr. Michael Schwartz performed outstanding work on my husband's face. Dr. Schwartz is a brilliant surgeon. 3) Unfortunately, Dr. Schwartz did TOO good a job. My younger-looking husband enjoyed renewed confidence--and a new spark for life. He seduced a mistress, pretending he was much younger, etc. He now lives on the other side of the country. 4) I do not blame Dr. Schwartz, though. 5) Tip: Do not help your husband look younger or better! The med spa experience has been ok and nothing outstanding that makes me want to return after several visits. I won't be returning. I purchased two Lytera bottles for Melasma ($110 each) and over time purchased several sunblock bottles. I've made it a religious habit to wear hats and stay out of the sun. I made several calls to the spa requesting to speak to an aesthetician to ensure the correct use of the product. The aesthetician's were never available and left several messages. No one bothered returning my calls. It's been very disappointing to encounter the lack of response after spending a substantial amount of money for services. So I walked in to appointment for the facial but I walked out with a burnt skin...while she was cleaning my face, she asked me I'm going home after my facial and I said and I asked why?! She said lets do a peel on your face... I didn't give her a certain answer be cause I wasn't sure that I wanted the peel... So I said na , I think I'm ok... But then she said: why not? You have been coming here n paying a lot of money why don't you a do a peel today... It's not a strong peel, you don't even peel but your skin will be so smooth and lighter in couple of day... And then boom!!! She was there to put it on my face with out even letting me think it through! She didn't even ask me the right questions like what have I been doing and have done to my skin for the past 30 days... Omg! When she put the peel on, I felt like my face was on fire... When I told her its burning!!! She thought I was exaggerating... Then she was going to re apply it again n I said no! Buts he insisted n she said you will be fine! So... I ended up walking out of there with swollen, red, tired and over processed skin not to forget to mention the pain... A few hours later, my face got worse and I called them right way... Talked to her on the phone, she told me to take Benadryl for pain and said your skin is too irritated. And now been 3 days n my skin still looks bad and worst than yesterday... I have discolorations , brown batches and crust and bruises... And my skin started to crack n peel like crazy That I couldn't go to work looking like that... I am so worried and so concern... This is definitely not normal and I'm going to see a dermatologist. My face muscles around my mouth are so tight that it hurt when I want to open my mouth to eat something, laugh or smile.. I have done peels in the past and I never experienced one like this...thank you for ruining my skin... I will be in touch. So I went there while my skin was peeling and they saw how damaged my skin was, the offered prescription but I preferred to go to see a dermatologist. It's been a month now , that I'm still dealing with this problem. The damage was so intense that caused me cystic acnes cause of the infection... this still going on. The office manager attempted calling me but every time that I called her back, she was unavailable. They don't care about you and they just want your money... So please be careful if you care about your skin... this place went south after the owner changed. Sorry! The post- treatment and after treatment was never given to me and i the consent agreement was also never given to me to read and sign!!!' read more

I've come to this wonderful place for facials in the past and loved my experience each time, no matter which aesthetician performed the service. This time, I decided to try Ultherapy and came for a consultation with Barbara Tucker. All her great reviews are true! She's extremely knowledgeable and inspires confidence with her intelligent explanation of the process. I was on the fence until I met her. After talking to her and asking her a million questions, which she patiently answered, I decided to follow through with the procedure. Contrary to what you may have read, it wasn't painful at all. She used a numbing cream on my face and neck, and that's all I needed. Just a few twinges here and there. No big deal. Although it takes a few months to see final results, I could see a visible lift immediately after the procedure. My facial was ineffective and way overpriced. I think broke out after the facial, maybe having to do with the products they used. The ingredients (chemicals) on the products sold here are among the spookiest I've seen anywhere. They make no pretension of trying to offer more 'natural products'. There are plenty of other place to get facials in Pasadena/South Pas that are more effective, cheaper, and done with fewer chemicals/products with shorter ingredients lists. You are not getting more because they charge twice as much as everybody else. read more

I originally gave this place 5 stars because the consultation was so thorough and I felt genuinely cared about... I had a chemical peel by Michelle (nice girl)... the chemical peel was to try to make little blemishes I had left from "adolescent" acne breakouts.. now that I look at my face it wasn't that bad before I got the peel here... I wish the results came out good because the experience here was nice... however I broke out in acne within the next month of the chemical peel worse than I EVER had broken out in my LIFE.. and it literally like re-opened my pores or something because I've been breaking out since (getting less severe as the months go by though) I have a whole new set of scars and for the first 4-5 months of breaking out I didn't even want to go out... I didn't goto my own cousins wedding cause of breakouts (made up some Bs excuse)... going to Skin Deep was easily the worst decision I made in the past 3 years.. I don't think they're maliciously trying to make me break-out.. from what I was told by several dermatologists was that it most likely wasn't the peel itself, but the after-care regimen they had me on.. the moisturizer they gave me basically clogged my pores to high heaven.. but I was just doing what they were telling me to do... which was obviously a huge mistake.. hindsight is always 20/20 though right? Do yourself a favor and do NOT go here if your skin has been or is prone to acne... i'd seriously give this place negative 5 stars for the misery of a year it turned 2012 into... the reason it took me so long to give this place a re-review? i'm not sure.. I was referred by a co-worker to this med spa and cannot say enough wonderful things about it!!! From the moment I stepped foot in their gorgeous facility I was overwhelmed by how nice and friendly the staff was!! 3 people asked me if I wanted something to drink, even though they were helping other clients. I met with one of the nurses regarding my horrible sun damage, and they were so informative. I was hesitant about doing anything extreme, so she recommended me to do a facial treatment. They made time for me that day and I have been back every month for regular treatments! I have been told by my friends and family that my skin has never looked better! I saw Barbara here. She is amazing! I have been around the block with injectors, and have never been so pleased as I am with Barbara. There is a science, but there is an art to injections, and Barbara has both. She takes the time to examine your face to see what you need. She also knows her anatomy very well and knows where to place the botox or filler so it really works. The results have been amazing! She came from a different medspa and I followed her here as it's hard to find anyone who knows injections as well as Barbara. I've been Michelle client for years. Today, the 2 receptionists were so rude that I'm considering to try elsewhere (one of them is new). I'm very bad in direction, so once a while I got lost, just like today. I called and got wrong direction from them so I was even more lost. They located between Delmar and California, which was "SOUTH of California"! Yup! They confirmed to me twice! I was that lost so I called twice! After a huge discover in direction and finally got myself there on time, I got a cold stare as I told them they located NORTH of California. One of them told me I suppose to be there at 2:30pm for a 3pm appointment. They should know that I benefit greatly from their cluelessness to barely made it on time. North and South are quite different to me. I like Michelle and Tamara very much. Maybe I should give the place another try? I'm indecisive. WOW!! what an amazing place! I don't even know where to begin. I was about to get married and had been looking for a place comparable to where I used to go when I was living on the westside. I had tried a "few" places in and around Pasadena, and although some were pretty good, non was actually up to my expectations. I ended up going into Skin Deep Laser Medspa after finding out that they sold a product that I regularly use and that is sold only by authorized vendors. As soon as I walked into this place I was sweetly greeted by Shawna. Every person that works there and went through the lobby while I was there greeted me with a smile. The place itself was beautiful and inspired much serenity; it just oozed professionalism, warmth, and beauty. I went home and researched this spa immediately. The reviews on yelp (as well as other sites) were very positive. I called right away and made an appointment with Lindsey for a facial. After we met I realized that she knew exactly what she was talking about and her recommendations all made much sense. I ended up undergoing a Melanage treatment to help me clear my skin from sun damage in preparation for my wedding. The results were amazing!!! I also had a session with Angelina, their makeup artist, to get some guidance and products for the wedding. She was also fantastic, knowledgeable and very patient!! Beautiful artist! If you are looking for tattoo removal, this is the place to go! The environment is very professional and calming. They use the Pico Sure machine, which is one of the best and most effective on the market. They also use a cooling machine to blow freezing cool air on the area being lasered. I kid you not, I can barely feel the laser. On some of the heavier areas of black It definitely stings a bit, but anyone who has had tattoo removal will tell you that it is normally excruciatingly painful. I swear, this is a different experience. Ask for Crystal, she's amazing and will do everything she can to make you more comfortable. I am so happy with my results and looking forward to being able to wear skirts and shorts again without the embarrassment of this ugly leg tattoo. Skin Deep found me when one of the owners was a guest at my restaurant. Having not had a proper facial for a while, I decided to go in for a gander. They set me up with Michelle, who proceeded to personally create a facial formulated for my skin. I've tried facials before, with no, or deleterious results, so I was nervous. It turns out that Michelle is amazing. Between the facials, and the product recommendations, my skin is actually showing positive results. She explained why she thinks my skin is so prone to breakouts, and advised me on how to treat it between facials. Thanks to her diagnosis, advice, handiwork, and products (samples as well as purchased), I finally feel comfortable going out in public without makeup...and I live in WEHO, so that means a lot. For many used to got my facials at this spa once a month. I bought most of my skin care products here as well. Then things started changing and service was not as it used to be and I stopped coming. I visited this Spa recently to buy products for my teen son's skin. While there I also bought some of the products that I used to buy for myself. Most of the products I got came in the plastic container. But one of the Peptide serum was in a glass bottle. When I got home I saw that the bottom of the glass bottle broke off and the gel was leaking. I went back to exchange the product and was told that they don't exchange product but can offer me a discount on the new bottle instead. This was soo wrong! It was further reinforced in my mind that service at this place is not worth returning! read more

I love this place. I love the reception area that smells like lemon grass. I love the ambiance that is created by all the scented candles. I love the receptionist that remembered me, eventhought I haven't been there in 8 months. I really enjoyed working with Nataly. She explains everything and goes far to accomodate my specific needs.
