Lynn takes care of issues IMMEDIATELY and always with a friendly face, always willing to help and is empathetic as issues arise - although they seldom do. SKY Properties has been managing our apartment building in Beverly Hills for about six months now. It was the best change the property owner could have made because the last management company was a joke. I have found SKY to be highly responsive, professional, accommodating, communicative and very understanding. On top of it, our manager Brennan has been very nice and wonderfully pleasant to deal with. My maintenance requests are handled in a timely manner and in accordance with the law. They have made a terrific intermediary between several long-standing and new tenants in this building and a very unfriendly, unpleasant, miserly property owner. As far a property management companies go, it really doesn't get better than this (and I've lived in a LOT of apartments in Southern California). Our dealings with this management company while occupying one of their properties was beyond unprofessional. There was no sense of urgency to repair the washer/dryer units that were always broken nor to provide the proper information for "move out procedure". This can be remedied by simply communicating with the tenants to let them know who should be contacted if someone does not have the answer. There is no dependability on their staff to take care of anything in a timely nor thorough manner. read more

Run like hell from any apartment managed by Sky Properties. This is without a doubt the worst apartment management company I have ever dealt with in over 15 years of apartment living in various cities throughout the country. Basically, when I lived in one of their properties, there was an incident where another fellow resident threatened my safety, stalked me, tried to break into my apartment, etc. This management company refused to let me out of my lease or wouldn't even allow me to move to another one of their dozens of other buildings in the area that would have been safer. I take that back, this other "resident" wasn't even technically a resident, I learned he was squatting there with another official resident. The management company shrugged it off and said, "Well we told him to leave, and the person he's staying with said he's been 'committed' and won't be coming back. There's nothing more we can do." Let me repeat myself. They admitted (let it slip?) that he was supposed to have been "committed," so he was either crazy or on drugs or both. So you understand the severity of who I was dealing with here. Anyway, I continued to see him on the property, afraid every time I walked into or out of my apartment. The perp continued to come and go as he pleased and simply parked his car farther down the street, so I took pictures of where he was parking, reporting everything back to management that clearly he and the official resident were still violating their orders. Weeks and eventually months went by of this ridiculous cat and mouse game, I involved an attorney, and basically, still absolutely NOTHING came of it. They threatened to charge me exorbitant fees for breaking my lease, and had no sympathy or admission for basically harboring and abetting criminals. My parents were threatening to come here and move me out of the apartment themselves, and of course safety eventually became more paramount than trying to battle them out of the lease. Ghetto apartments that slap a fresh coat of paint on a turd basically. They couldn't give a shit less about their tenants, it's all about the money. A suggestion: if the apartment is nasty and in disrepair when you move in, take photos when you move in to document everything. (There were hairballs all over the carpet in mine, which they tried to say had been steam-cleaned, yeah right! and dust was completely caked over all the vents as well.) Another tip: to avoid a bait and switch, I would NOT recommend signing the lease until you are able to see the ACTUAL apartment you are renting -- in a clean and HABITABLE condition. read more

I lived at the 3400 Cahuenga Blvd West SKY Property in Universal City for just over a year and a half. It's a great location for anyone who works in the Valley, Hollywood or even downtown. Free DirecTV and free LA Fitness membership. Not bad. Our property managers, Cameron and Adrienne are both great and solid individuals. They were stellar at their jobs and were attentive and quick to respond to tenant issues and complaints. Never met another tenant who didn't feel the same about them. They never missed a "hello" or a "how are you doing?" and my wife and I always said we were lucky to have property managers like them. In December there was a issue with my heating during the middle of a major and rare cold snap in LA. It was more than ten days before it was repaired. I spoke to Cameron after the repair asking for some kind of reparation for the inconvenience and was directed to the Operations Director, Holly Freeman. In the midst of trying to have a thoughtful and respectful conversation about the issue, this woman spoke with vitriol and disrespect when responding to my request for something to be done in response to my wife and I being without heat. Her literal response was, "Things happen." I was appalled. It is every tenants right to expect basic habitability conditions. That includes heating, power, sanitary conditions, etc. Is it so unreasonable for my wife and I to expect a credit of some sort, or a gesture of good will? Anything but, "things happen." Needless to say I submitted my letter to vacate a few days later. If it were my business I would not allow a person like Holly to speak on behalf of my company or represent the good values I hope that my company instills in the community. NBC Universal actually owns the property and they are traditionally a high value and moral company. I just hope they know that there is a parasite in their midst and she should be removed. So would I recommend this property? Only if Holly is gone. I say promote Cameron and Adrienne. They are much better at public relations and property management. Good luck. read more

They managed 12618 Oxnard street and they were TERRIBLE. The roof had leaks and the plumbing was terrible. On rainy days the balcony took in all the water. Not to mention my apartment was soaked in the living room. Even My downstairs neighbor's stuff was wet because of the leaks in my ceiling. When we reported it, they literally did nothing. I went as far as calling the housing department but had a change of mind because they ultimately sold the property, with deficiencies and I wanted to give the new managers a chance to make things right. Before selling, There was a leak in the building as well and we had mold and other stuff coming through the walls, they didnt change the drywall nor did they abate anything. Only dehumidified and patched and painted. Their "Maintenance Team" is a joke. Not professional at all. They come, do crappy work and then leave your apartment dirty. If they sand in your apartment, they leave dust everywhere. I would say, turn and find another property if SKY PROPERTIES INC is who you are re ting or leasing from. read more

This is long overdue amendment to a previous review. My first one was in regard to our *on-site* managers (which are just glorified neighbors to whom you can direct questions) who were amazing and who had been having trouble with SKY so I wrote a review to lift them up a bit. I gave them 5 stars and meant it. I was always afraid to say anything negative about SKY because they always made me feel like an absolute peon who didn't matter and who could get kicked to the curb anytime they wanted. My apartment was at 1245 N Laurel Ave. The place is crawling with roaches, which they condescendingly corrected my term on and called something else which I of course can't remember because it doesn't matter and frankly these things are worse because they are ENORMOUS and they FLY. I would find 2 at a time in my bathroom just dancing around on my LITERAL TOOTHBRUSH and I keep an insanely clean home. I took videos and photos and tried to remedy the issue myself. They sent one guy out ONCE to try and seal the area but anyone could see w the naked eye that the issue hadn't be resolved. I got crack fillers, etc but was never able to figure it out on my own and also should never have had to try because that's why people rent. After five years of renting there, and the carpet having not been new even when I moved in, I requested that the carpet be changed or even that they split the cost (negligible for a 10 by 10 room with a view into a parking garage) and they were overall unresponsive. I got one reply stating that the carpet was new when I moved in so the answer was no. When I replied that it wasn't the case, they never got back to me. Rude. The main reason I'm writing this it to call out the insanity of my deposit STILL not being in my hands over a year after moving out. I believe the law states 21 days along with an itemized receipt of any deductions taken. Not a cent should have been withheld. I lived there for over 5 years and left the place INFINITELY better than the way I found it. I am not exaggerating when I say I cleaned the apartment when I first moved in for an entire week. I wouldn't even move my stuff in yet because the film on the floors was so disgusting. A maintenance guy took mercy on me and tried to get them to do even a light sanding on the wood to get up the grime but they wouldn't allow it. I used every scrubber I could find for the nasty kitchen floor, which I know I have before and after pictures of somewhere. My sponges were coming up black. There was dog hair in my bedroom carpet. There were missing pieces of hardware in the shower enclosure. It was out of control. Before my move out I cleaned baseboards, chair rails, freshly painted my bedroom, I had even scrubbed underneath the fridge the month before (pandemic boredom and anxiety). The place was clean and in the best shape it had been in a decade. They sent me a check maybe a month after moving out and it wasn't for my full deposit amount so I emailed them asking what was up because the newer on-site manager who did a walkthrough with my roommate said we would get our full amount back. They never replied so I tore up the check. Why would I deposit an incorrect check? A few months later I got a call from someone who works in the office. Her name *might* have been Jasmine but I'm not 100% sure. I was not in the mood as it was the day of the Capitol breach. I very directly told her the situation, that I knew it wasn't her fault personally, but that I expected a call from someone who could remedy the situation and issue a check in the full amount. She said ok. No one ever called. Last week I sent an email to Carmen (the woman who consistently ignored me for the entirety of my living there) stating "I have yet to be paid my deposit and haven't lived at a Sky Properties building in well over a year. This is problematic and in breach of contract. Please get back to me tomorrow to resolve." She responded (having my full name) "What property did you reside in?", to which I replied the address. AND NOW AND AGAIN SHE HAS STILL NOT RESPONDED TO ME. This is literally abusive at this point. It's gaslighting or something. I don't even know what to call it because I've never received such unprofessional, inconsiderate, inhumane treatment from a company in my life. It is one hundred percent unacceptable and frankly at this point the check should come w a pain and suffering bonus. A $50 hourly billing rate for the chasing around of these people I've had to do. In closing, some of their properties are cute, but I would rather live on someone's couch than have to deal with these people again. Total trash. read more

I moved in to 7100 fulton two years ago, when I started, the pool was drained, no plants anywhere and a chain link fence surrounded the pool. The tone was "ignored" or "I don't care." Then new management entered the building. Rosa Avenado is probably the best land lord I had. I feel in love with her instantly when I met her. She was kind, open, and really cared about her tenants. She filled the pool with water. Repainted the walls, fixed kitchen issues, killed the bugs, planted plants, put in outdoor furniture. literally turning a place that scream, "DUCK!" to a place that actually bought relative calm to the apartment. My neighbors are quiet and not too much drama. I will miss living here at 7100 Fulton and I will miss Rosa. She is a total sweet heart and made living here very easy! read more

I've lived in one of their buildings for about a year and I am super happy. Now location is great except for being far from freeways but that's just LA life. It's very well kept and my apartment has lots of space. Everyone in the building is quiet and friendly. No washer and dryer but they do have a laundry room that seems to be available most of the time. Oh.....and I get a garage which is amazing in LA. Pretty good bang for my buck! read more

The Entire business is based on lying, rudeness, discrimination, and threats from their propety management upto the vice president Lynlee. Even their website all of those customer service review just sounded fony. Even the people who worked for this company told me about how teribble this company upper manager treat their own employees. Do not image how they treat their tenants and clients. I wrote review on the google website but now it is all gone. I wonder how they get ride of those reviews. I know that they have lots of attorneys who are ready to put your name on eviction with court after you have moved out. The attorney's name is Michael J Maeds from 10 Universal City, Plaza, Suite 1950, Universal City, CA 91608. They do that on purpose to make your life as Hell. I assumed Michael J Maede is their in house attorney. They can do what ever they want regardness of the law. Then we filed Eviction with Saftrent so I will have a hell the time to rent an appt. They success with that part of deal. I lost the apartment due to their fony eviction. Further more after that Vice president Lynlee still demand the payment that I did not own them that including their attorney $750 fee to sue me. They billed me with their broken window shades made since 1930. It was broken before I moved in. And charge me to remove the contact paper on the butcher tables which I did. I have vedio tape to approve but I already did. They cancelled my moving out walk through which I signed no to wavie it. Now you can see that what type of people you have deal with and went through. I just found out they removed a few very bad reviews for their property management including my review. Be careful, They are like a hurry wolf about eating your alive. read more

I lived in the apartment next door to drug dealers. SKY properties was completely incompetent in handling this issue. After emailing management with my valid concerns with my neighbors, my email was forwarded (complete with my signature attached) to every resident in the entire building. I was also subpoenaed by SKY to testify in court against my drug dealing neighbors, without bringing any evidence of their own to court of their activities. I would never recommend renting from a property managed by SKY. read more

We moved into the Tarzana property in June. It's about 2 blocks from Ventura Blvd, and the 101 is around the corner. I'd like to start off by saying that if it weren't for Maria, we wouldn't even be living in this apartment! From the first phone call in May to the day we moved in, she was SO accommodating, SO wonderful, SO UNDERSTANDING and SO helpful. Then we met Mike the night we arrived, and we were even more excited because he's equally as awesome! We truly consider them both friends now, and honestly we can't imagine dealing with anyone else here! Any issues we've had over the past few months have been taken care of by them swiftly and with a smile. That's very important to us because when you pay a lot of money to live somewhere, the last thing you want to do is wait. They both respond immediately to ANY questions or concerns we have. There was new flooring that was recently installed, and it looks totally great. I would recommend putting it throughout the entire building because it would probably be much cleaner and easier to maintain. A fresh coat of paint would help very much too. When we first saw the Collins apartments, our first reaction was that it was pretty outdated and could use some freshening up. We're very pleased to see changes being made! Keep them coming! The greatest parts of this location is that they're pet friendly (no silly restrictions like most places), there's a convenient parking lot in the back and utilities are included!!! We have found Sky Properties and their staff to be sensitive and responsive to the needs of our tenants, as well as we the owners. While "Field Supervisor Carmen" responds promptly to reported concerns and questions, she is also pro-active by recognizing potential problems not yet detected by tenants or anticipated by us. Sky then then takes action that minimizes operational cost for us and inconvenience to the tenant. Never have properties owners been more in need of competent property management then now. Lived at this charming complex (Laurel Ave) for 8+ years. The property is well-maintained and safe. The residents in the complex take great ownership and pride in maintaining the property. Transparently, as with any older building, there are occasional plumbing issues - none ever serious - and are handled in an expeditious manner. We have been living at Monte Vista in Tujunga for four months now and we are very happy with our choice. The building is brand new and we were the first people that occupied the apartment, which is spacious and very modern (from the brown flooring to the kitchen cabinets and stainless steel appliances). Another big plus is the in-unit washer and dryer. The community is very quiet and the apartment noise isolation is impressive such as almost no street noise can be heard inside when all windows are closed. The community amenities look great and we look forward to make use of them once COVID fades away. Also, we are very thankful to Jean, the community manager, for having ensured we had a very smooth move-in and for promptly answering all our questions. read more

ALL the reviews for Sky Properties, Inc. are FALSE and likely provided by personal friends. This property management company is a FRAUD and applied my grandmother's rent towards a different tenant and for the past year, we have been trying to get her money applied towards her account with NO success. After reporting this to Western Union, we filed a fraud claim. But in an effort to expedite the process, Yesenia, assured me that if we put a "stop payment" on the claim, she would ensure the money would be refunded appropriately. She ensured me she would send me an email confirming this and we would get our refund by Friday. It is now Tuesday and her promises were all empty as she did not follow through on anything. Unprofessional and unaccountable. I am now re-opening the claim and will be filing a Better Business Bureau claim as well. In the interest of fairness, I cannot recommend this property management company. I advise anyone working with them to do their due diligence before any agreements are made. read more

Their support to residents during COVID19 has been incredible and I'm so thankful to have landlords who care about the hardship we're all experiencing and willing to work with their residents on a case-by-case basis.
