I want to preface this review by saying I came for breakfast. I think from what the other reviewers have mentioned, drinks and dinner are the way to go and I would be open to returning for a different meal. The elevator ride to the restaurant was incredible and even on a cloudy day, your view was amazing. We started our meal with the fruit plate which came out intricately plated. We also tried a croissant, which was wonderful and fluffy. For main courses, we went with the eggs and the pancakes. The egg platter appeared scarce. There were approximately 3 cherry tomatoes cut into two, five pieces of potato and 3 eggs. The portion size was fine, but I think with the oversized plate, it just appeared bare. The potatoes were massively over salted for me. The pancakes were fine, but none of the food was really memorable. Our server did forget a few of our sides, but when we reminded her, she was apologetic and brought them over quickly. It is a very beautiful space with high ceilings and a beautiful view, but I don't think I would return for their breakfast menu. read more

I've come here around 4 times and I'm impressived ever time. To my understanding, the menu changes seasonally. There are a few items that stay all year around, including the tuna tartar (my favorite). It's a light and vibrant dish with a good balance in texture. You must absolutely be vaccinated as proof is requested upon entrance. Mask wearing is enforced as well until you're led to your table where a complimentary mask pack is offered to you to take home. Technically, this menu (which differs to Jean-George's separate restaurant also a part of the hotel) offers flirty small bites and American entrees with cocktails, beer and wine - a big emphasis on Pennsylvania local farmers, craft brewers and wineries with a JG twist. I kept it light, promise to order the caviar and blini next time but I'm a light eater anyhow! I only ordered risotto and he had the spicy rigatoni. The rigatoni did indeed have an extra kick to it, but it was delightful. The risotto was beautifully plated and although a tad salty (even though I put myself on a low salt diet, by choice, so go figure!), was easy to finish. The chocolate cake was surprisingly light "as a cloud" (haha!) yet with sumptuous and divine flavor. I'd say get it, but I encourage you to check out the rest of their dessert menu first! I firmly believe that there is a right way and a wrong way to do JG SkyHigh. The wrong way is to walk in at the wrong time, get dropped with a ferocious tab for drinks and their sort of mediocre food, and walk out unsatisfied. The right way? Avoid the bad aspects of this place while maximizing the good! JG SkyHigh has one of the best, if not THE best, views in the city for drinks. The elevator up has a real WOW factor. The whole place is simply gorgeous. Add to that an incredibly attentive staff, top shelf liquor, and bartenders who really know what they're doing. This is what to maximize! The bad: well, the food isn't bad, but it's nothing to phone home about, especially with Vernick Fish in the same building! And the prices are, as I said, ferocious. The solution is to pick a date night or a night you're showing friends around from out of town. Look up the time of sunset that day. Make a reservation for approximately 45 min before sunset (you will need to do this 2/3 weeks in advance). You can't go wrong with seating, a table or the bar is fine. If you're trying to catch a buzz there and have a little stronger tolerance like me, have a drink or two beforehand. Then take your date or your guests to JG and really wow them with everything they have to offer. Order A SINGLE ROUND of drinks. And now, it's time to nurse that round of drinks like it's the last liquor in the world. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the spectacular sunset. Maybe order a single appetizer if you're snacky. Enjoy the top notch service and drinks. Then pay your (still hefty, but reasonable for the space) bill and off to dinner you go (did I mention that Vernick is also in the same building?) We have been here a few times and food is decent in the past. The main reason we come is for the view. Unfortunately with our visit today for brunch their food is way below average. We ordered the octopus as appetizer and it is dry and too salty; the beef spring roll kept their normal standard which is not bad. Also, for the two egg breakfast, they can't even make the scrambled eggs correctly. It was all dried up. We also had the avocado toast and they put too much seasoning. These are basic items and I don't know how can anyone screw that up so badly in a nice place like that. What a shame! read more

One of the most impressive-looking indoor rooftops I've been to! JG SkyHigh is a fancy restaurant/bar on the 60th floor of the Four Seasons. It's definitely a place to bring someone you're trying impress or celebrate. Since we came for lunch on a Monday, the restaurant was pretty empty, which was a pleasant surprise. The staff did a good job spacing out the parties that were present. I ordered the strawberry Thai basil lemonade for my cocktail, which was good but definitely quite tart (not a bad thing). Our group shared the black truffle pizza (delicious and light) and I chose the salmon for my entree, which was tasty and not too heavy - I loved the corn and the broth served with it. Although the food was good, I think the true wow factor of this restaurant is the ambiance and spectacular views of Philly! I was literally blown away when I walked off the elevators. I didn't know what to expect with all the hype for the opening of the four seasons. It didn't disappoint - it is now the ultimate rooftop in all of Philadelphia. 60 floors up. The views begin as you ride the glass elevator (get ready for your ears to pop). You enter into a large space - first a bar/ lounge and then stairs lead you to a separate more formal dining area. There is no outdoor seating/ tables available. Drinks are pricey but you pay for the view/experience so definitely worth it for that special occasion. We ordered the cucumber martini and the ginger margarita - both were great. When you first walk into JG Skyhigh, you expect that you're going to drop a pretty penny. It's entirely elegant with stunning views of the city, perched on the 64th floor in the tallest building in Philly. However when you look at the menu, the prices are cheap! For how fancy the restaurant comes off, you wouldn't expect such an affordable experience. Despite its sophisticated setting, the food is somewhat disappointing. Three members of our party ordered the eggs benedict, but I wasn't too impressed. Not enough ham, hollandaise was fine, and the english muffin could have been crispier. I tried the french toast that my sister ordered, and it's texture is just off-putting. It tries too hard to be unique, when in the end, you kind of just want a simpler dish. I will commend their service. Our waitress was thoughtful and endearing, incredibly friendly and even gave us complimentary mimosas for my mother's birthday. Overall, I could have done with a bit more refined dish that would have made this experience a lot better. For the class, congenial service, and impeccable scenery, JG is a five. When it comes to the food, I would probably give it a three at best. Nothing terrible, but underneath a pretty face is a load of mediocrity. read more

The outside was fried to a perfect crunchy crisp while the inside was soft and soaked with some kind of sweet mixture. Almost like a bread pudding, but not. If that makes sense. To be honest, It's really hard to describe and unlike any French toast I've eaten before. It's incredibly luscious and I'd definitely recommend it for those seeking a high end breakfast item that's delicious and unique. As for the eggs and bacon. Simply perfection. The views are also absolutely phenomenal -- you can see everything you need to see in Philly from the top (love the Art Museum view). When I first entered the Four Seasons, I was greeted by a staff member who was pretty much directing people to the right direction. I told him we had a reservation and he brought us over to a desk. (Good thing I had a 6pm reservation because it was an hour wait!) we were brought over to the elevators and it brought us straight up to the 60th floor. My ears popped from the ride up, but the views were amazing! We got off the elevator and we are greeted by a beautiful floral arrangement and more staff members, asking if we were going to JG SkyHigh or Jean-Georges. We were led to another desk and then finally seated in the dining area. One side is for reservations and the other side is open for bar seating. You are allowed to walk around the perimeter of JG SkyHigh. I ordered the lychee raspberry Bellini, which was made just right. (All cocktails were $16 so it better taste good. lol). We ordered the spicy tuna tartare lettuce cups, which was pretty tasty. The squash blossom pizza I was disappointed with. Aside from the burnt crust, the taste of the squash blossom was subtle and a nice blend with the cheese. Reasons why I'm only giving 4 stars: I feel that the setup for 2 seaters are pretty close to each other, as if we were dining with each other. The pizza I ordered had a burnt crust - not exactly how I enjoy my pizza. And lastly, price point. I get it, it's luxury dining with top notch views. You get what you pay for. You can definitely look around and see the type of clientele it's catered towards. JG SkyHigh is definitely worth a visit. I highly recommend making a reservation. This was our second time at SkyHigh, and we were equally as impressed from the first time we dined there. I would recommend trying to line up reservations for sunset - you literally cannot beat this view in the city. We really lucked out...on a clear night, beautiful ombre of pinks and oranges, it was amazing to watch the sun go down and lights come on in the city. NOTE - their reservation process is no joke. You have to book a month in advance, so stay on top of that. Beyond the view, the music here is a total vibe. So relaxing and perfect mood setting for the rest of the space. Their drinks are fantastic, but definitely pricey (worth it though when you consider all you are getting - just be prepared.) We are in love with their truffle pizza - this is a must get in my opinion. We also really enjoyed their burrata appetizer, which was on a lemon curd jam...wow. That's all I can say - really different, but super fresh and light. I made reservations for myself which later on I wanted to add my husband about 3 days prior to my reservation date. I was surprised that I was told it's fully booked because I thought it would be easy to add another person to a one party reservation. I was seated to a two seats table so he could have been seated together. I learnt that JG SkyHigh serves small plates while Jean George on the lower level serves full course dinner. The front desk lady is super friendly and helpful. My server was nice but reserved and not as welcoming, warm, and friendly,like the others. The sourdough bread is super soft and moist. The texture is more like white bread. It comes with a high quality of olive oil which is poured in front of you. The person who serves it is very courteous. You can have a refill for the bread Shrimp "satay". I write it in parenthesis because it's not a real satay. I'm from Indonesia so I know it's not a satay. Satay is supposed to be grilled. It's kinda an insult to my culture by naming it a satay . The three huge shrimps are breaded in panko on two sides and fried. The sweet and sour dipping sauce is watery and flavorless. The shrimps are juicy though. The chocolate cake with marshmallow icing is really delicious. It's not too sweet. It's dense and fudgy. I asked to take home two slices of my leftover bread and to my surprise I got a full serving of bread. Overall the view is more enjoyable than the food except the chocolate cake. INITIAL EXPERIENCE: We were running late for our 6:30p reservation, so we called the restaurant to let them know. When we got to the hostess stand, her immediate response in a condescending tone was, "You're late." Oh thank you, miss, for stating the obvious when we did the courtesy of letting you know. I guess we didn't look "rich" enough to warrant your hospitality. This set the tone of the experience. DRINKS: Our server brought us our drinks of Blanton's and gin/soda, which were good. Simple drinks, tasted as usual. I do think $35 a pour for Blanton's is a tad bit overpriced. FOOD: We ordered the calamari, which came with a yuzu sauce. The calamari was fried well, not overcooked, but the sauce in a dipping container was more of a foam consistency and dropped like an undercooked soufflé upon the first dip. Could've been executed better. SERVICE: I believe her name was Kaitlyn and she was satisfactory. Had other tables to attend to but overall took care of us throughout the experience. There was a manager that brought us our second round of drinks that was very friendly. I liked his hospitality. VIEW: I mean that's what saved the whole night. With the restaurant closed downstairs, was able to get some great photos of Philly without disturbing other diners. Definitely paid the price to see the view. We usually just snag a spot at the bar, but this time we made a reservation at one of the tables in the dining area across from the main bar so that we could watch the sunset. The elevator ride up (some 60-odd floors) is literally ear-popping and gives you a great view of the city. The ceiling is high, arched, and mirrored, and the bar (where a co-worker and I ate) was hopping. We squeezed past crowds to the back of the bar near the windows and were promptly taken care of. Sometime after we got our drinks but before our food arrived, our bartender spotted a couple empty seats and urged us to grab them. When she saw I was starting to gather up my glass and place setting, she was like no no, I'll bring everything over, hurry and get those spots. When the food arrived (we ordered just a few small plates), it did not disappoint in regards to either presentation or taste.
