I recently went to Slapfish in Fisher which is a lot easier to find parking than the location at Mass Ave. The $1 oyster special every day is an amazing deal, even though the oysters are west coast oysters and on the smaller side. I'm also sad that they closed the Oyster Bar which was located downtown, where they used to have fresh fish specials. They did not seem to have fresh fish specials, but there was a list of fish that you can buy à la carte at very reasonable prices. The server on my most recent visit was super friendly and attentive. She made sure to check on us regularly and refilled our drinks without being asked. I would definitely recommend Slapfish to anyone looking for a casual seafood meal. I have posted in the past that I have a food allergy to soy. I am really ill if I ingest it, so I am always delighted when I find somewhere using other oil. Slapfish is the place. They even make their own mayonnaise or aioli! It is kind of crazy when you first walk in. Never having been there before we did not know where menus were, that we were to get our own cokes or quite frankly how to order. It was busy and there was a line. We decided to find a table first and get the "layout". It wasn't long before a staff member asked if he could assist us. He suggested a roll with shrimp, lobster and crab. When it was delivered, I was shocked at the size of the sandwich. It was piled high with the seafood. It had a sauce of mayo and Jersey sauce. For me it was too much mayo/sauce. Next time I would ask for it lightly tossed in the sauce. I also had sweet potato fries. You don't nothin' about sweet potato fries till you try these. They were wonderful. My husband had the special which was fish and chips. The fish was cod and he had regular potato fries and slaw. He said his food was very good also. Slapfish...well...SLAPS!!! I have yet to eat something here that didn't leave me satisfied, wondering if I need a box, or thinking "is it okay to eat a clobster grill cheese for breakfast"?!? The burrito is massive and you'll enjoy it more if you'll just be honest with yourself that half is for now and half is for later. The fried pickles are just that...fried PICKLES...not little bitty chips...big old "I thought you said you liked pickles" spears! Food is delicious. Service can be a little confusing I still can't explain it. But workers were pleasant and helpful. Environment was fine and welcoming. I've visited twice and each time met wonderful people. The first time I went I ordered at the register and sat with my number. Easy peasy. The next time was a little more confusing. I was sat at the table but there wasn't a waitress (I don't think). Someone gave me water and then someone took my order. Another person brought out my food and then someone else brought out my guest food. I think maybe they were short staffed. I'm not sure but service was quick and friendly and my food was perfect. Had lunch at this delightful place on a weekday a couple of weeks ago. My first visit to Slapfish and to the Fishers District as well. Both were a really good experience! Slapfish is obviously known for its fish and seafood. I had the Power Bowl. The restaurant itself is composed of an Ordering Counter and then self serve drink bar. You place your order and are given the numbered stand and you pick a table and your food is delivered. The Counter Staff were nice and cordial, the food prep was efficient and the delivery time was quick. The food itself was really fresh and tasty. Every amazing date night must end with an amazing dinner. Luckily, we were in the area and had to check out this location of Slapfish. We have been to the location on Mass Ave, but I wanted to check out this location to see how it compares. Right off the bat, the parking was a bit tricky. It's the same way at the downtown location so at least we were anticipating it. We ended up parking in the garage attached. The major difference between locations is that this is a full-service restaurant complete with a host stand and servers. When we got to the host stand, we were told it would be a 30-minute wait, or we could sit at the bar right then. We chose to sit at the bar since we were pretty hungry! I was expecting to not love that experience since we wouldn't be facing each other, but I was so pleased with the coziness of sitting next to each other at the bar! We both ordered a Kona Big Wave beer (one of our go-to beers). I usually order a locally-made beer when I go out, but Slapfish doesn't have many (if any) local beers on draft. Nonetheless, it was a tasty brew! For dinner, I ordered an Epic Shrimp Burrito. I always ask the Downtown location to make it as a bowl instead of a burrito just because the tortilla is a bit overpowering. I asked for it to be made as a bowl this time. Unfortunately, the kitchen made an error and it came out as a burrito. The bartender asked if I wanted it remade or wanted a bowl to eat it out of and I assured him that it was okay! I wasn't upset about the mistake! It was still just as delicious as it always is! Their special sauce is incredible, and their shrimp is as fresh as you can get it so far from the ocean. My fiance ordered the Power Bowl. OMG, he was impressed! I took a bite of the Mahi Mahi and it was amazing. I don't know what all was in it, but for sure there was shrimp, mahi mahi, maybe salmon, and eggs. That is an abundance of protein! My friends and I decided on Slapfish for dinner. We ordered some Poke and Chips and Ceviche to start. They are both served with the same chips (has a bit of a seasoning on it). We liked the Ceviche more than the Poke but only because the Poke was a little on the sweeter side. I ordered the Lobster Grinder and my husband had the Fish and Chips. The Lobster Grinder was delicious! I am not the biggest fan of lobster so this was a perfect fit for me - it's a combination of lobster, shrimp, and crab and the spicy aioli brought everything together so well. I've been to the Westfield one before and it's my first time here. I ordered take away this time. I got a bowl of lobster bisque and the fresh cut fries. The total before tip was $17. I do have to say when I got home and saw the bowl size I was severely disappointed it's a cup size anywhere else and it was $12. I know it's lobster but that to me is not bowl size. Now once I got into to it the bisque was amazing! Super creamy with huge chunks of lobster. The fries were ok, they have a seasoning on them that helps them taste better but the dipping sauce that came with them was horrible and they don't seem fresh cut to me. I've been to the other slapfish locations in the Indy area but this was my first time at the Fishers spot. My husband and I decided to have a nice date night last weekend and I was easily able to make a reservation using OpenTable! We got there a little early and asked to sit outside, in their small four table space. The inside was clean and modern and even allowed for indoor/outdoor space with a large window being open. Everything was really nice. I always get the Clobster grilled cheese, but this time we tried the lobster tots! Everything was delicious as always and I cannot recommend Slapfish enough! read more

I've still not had the opportunity to try the Slapfish up in Carmel, so I was excited to try the one close to my home. Tiny restaurant front in Fishers at the Yard compound. Fantastic fried fish! The batter was so light and crispy. It just wasn't very big for 14.00 and one of the pieces of my fish had a huge cartilage rib in it, which was inedible. The French fries were okay. I thought they were covered in Old Bay at first glance but I'm not sure if it was Old Bay mixed with paprika or some other spice but the flavor was a little off to me. The shrimp burrito was fine but super messy the way it was served. Hubs said it was filling but not very much shrimp in it and it was a bit chewy. The beers were cold and the service was good. It's a cute breezy space with tall ceilings. 2 entrees, 2 beers with tip was over $60 and no leftovers to take home. I was excited to see Slapfish come to my neighborhood since the Noblesville and Downtown locations are far enough away that it's not a convenient option when I'm in hangry mode. I did a carryout order last Friday night, and it was ready on arrival. The food was nicely packaged with the warm and cold ingredients packed separately which I appreciated.
