how do i even start this review? i wish i could put more than 5 stars, because this establishment is truly deserving of such. the service here is impeccable to begin with. imagine listening to young thug for the very first time, and how life changing jeffrey's voice was the second his sound breached your ear drum canal, that is the exact same experience i got when i bit into my first tender at slim chickens. the food is of the highest grade, cooked to perfection with absolute zero flaws, and the fact that i can order as many sauces as i please placed this restaurant at the very top of my list. you may think this place is similar to "other" fast food restaurants, but take my word for it, this is a fine dining experience. i will put this establishment with the likings of chama gaucha, fogo de chao, and gordon ramsey's steakhouse. to conclude my review and put it in a summary, slim chickens is truly a life changing/pivotal moment in ones life. i had to force myself back from devouring my meal and eating it like a rabid animal. you will NOT be disappointed, my guarantee. read more

Wow!! Awesome!! We had the chicken tenders, plus the fried pickles ARE THE BEST EVER!!! The desserts are served in glass mason jars, this is a cute idea which is something I have never seen! Tried this place for first time and not impressed. Walk in and no one asks you if you like to order. Told them it was are first time here Then ordered two chicken wrap grilled with no buffalo sauce and no tomatoes on one of them. The whole order was wrong buffalo sauce on both and not grilled but had fried chicken. I would suggest trying other places to eat rather than here. People working here not even happy. read more

Horrible service. Went for lunch on a Saturday and the parking lot was empty. I should have left then. Went inside and there were three other guest sitting down. Had to wait 10 minutes to order at the register. Finally got to order and sit down. After 20 minutes still no food. Guest who came in after me were being served already. 30 minute mark and asked the server about our food and was told there was a mistake somehow and it would be another 10 minutes. Asked for the manager for a refund and after another 5 minutes refund given and all he could say was sorry for the inconvenience. Poor service at its best read more

This was our first visit and was not really impressed. We did the drive thru and the wait was about 15 mins but was willing to wait if it was any indicator of how good the food is. We have been wanting to try this place for a while and glad we had the opportunity today! We tried the 3 & 3 wings and tenders which were very tasty. We both enjoyed the wing sauces and dipping sauces that came with the order. Their fries are amazing, crunchy with spices and their fried pickles are good if you want something different. We were chatting with the owner as we ordered and asked lots of questions about the menu like what their layered jar desserts were made of (deliciousness is the answer). He was very helpful with all his answers and we experienced great customer service. Food was prompt, hot, and tasty. The place is really stylish as a bonus. First time having Slim Chickens. We heard great things and since they opened one here and there was so much hype about the Slim Chickens chain we decided to try it. It was just alright. The thing my family liked the most was the mac n cheese. My wings were sad looking, small, and barely had any meat to it. Chicken and waffles was ok, nothing special. Love this little spot in Helotes! Reminds me of raising Cain's except they have waffles! And they get extra points because of the dessert mason jars and they do not charge you extra for lemonade! I will definitely be back for more. The fries and guest service is top notch as well. read more

I really wanted to love this place. I got 1/2 fried tenders and 1/2 grilled. The fried ones were good, small for tenders, but good. I can't say the same for the grilled ones. I had to dunk it in ketchup and still wasn't able to finish it. It was tasteless however was over seasoned at the same time. The gravy had absolutely no flavor to it. They weren't very busy when we got there and it took over 20 minutes for a finger basket and a sandwich. The restaurant itself was nice and very clean. The staff was friendly as well. Light yet crunchy batter but you can even avoid the batter if you like by asking for grilled since they batter in house. Wing and tender combos with fun variety of house made dipping sauces. Something for every diet. Salads to desserts. Don't worry about being too full for dessert, take home a souvenir jar of dessert, I did. Efficient drive-thru available as well as porch seating. Attentive dine-in experience. Employees are available to help you have a pleasant dining experience. You won't find better customer service at any other fast food. I chose the slim sauce and cayenne ranch as dipping sauces. The tenders and wings were both rubbery and not tender. The tenders tasted bland and I did not care for the slim sauce. The wings were done in buffalo sauce which was not spicy at all. The cayenne ranch was really good but could not save the wings. They tasted as if they were sitting out for a while. The toast tasted burnt even though it wasn't. The mac and cheese was really good. I would probably come back for this. You get up to 10 different sauces but they put them in separate boxes based on sauce. I wish they labeled mine so I knew which sauce I enjoyed the best. Tiffany started us off with a happy welcome and made some spot on recommendations. I loved what I oredered (5&5) and the mason jar brownie. The food came pretty fast and was brought to the table. We enjoyed our time and meal and as I was cleaning up Albert offered help and finished off our visit with the nicest personality and leaving us wanting to come back. Good food and service!! We shared the 7 strip basket, chicken is made fresh and lightly battered. Strips had good flavor but not like a traditional breaded fried chicken. We had fried mushrooms which apparently are no longer on the menu (not sure why because they were AWESOME,) but they made us a batch upon request. I would definitely come back if I'm on this side of town, I wouldn't drive way out of my way for it but it was really good.
