A salad or a sandwich is also an option. Junior, the young man who waited on us to take our order and give us guidance, was very pleasant and knowledgeable! First time visit and it will probably my last!! Although the customer service was good my food was very cold, as if it head been sitting for at least an hour. The wife & I were in the area, so we thought we would stop and try it out. Not what I expected, but everything looked nice and clean, so we stayed. We each ordered wings & fries, and we were disappointed. The fries were fine, very hot and fresh from the fryer. The wings, on the other hand, were barely room temperature. I get the impression they cook the wings beforehand, and add the sauce when they're actually ordered. I simply cannot fathom the thought of living life without eating at Slim Chickens. This restaurant should be on every single human being's bucket list and or pilgrimage to experience before death. I do not usually review on restaurants that I did not enjoy, however my boyfriend and I ate at this establishment saturday January 20, around 10pm and I wish we had not. The place was clean and workers were friendly, but unfortunately we had a terrible experience from eating the food. We ordered a 3 piece strip and a 4 piece strip along with one of the mason jar brownie dessert. As I was eating the strips I had noticed an unusual texture and brought it up to my boyfriend who confirmed he noticed it too. However I finished my meal thinking maybe that is the way they cook their strips, I had no idea what was to be expected when I arrived home. Later that night my boyfriend informed me that he was feeling very ill, nauseous and crampy in his stomach. We had fallen asleep, and I was abruptly woken up with severe pains in my stomach, to the point where my breathe was taken away. I immediately experienced some of the worst symptoms of food poisoning (I will refrain from being too graphic) and I was not the only one. I had not eaten anything out of the ordinary that day except for Slim Chickens, since it was in fact my first time going. I spent many long hours with pains and symptoms, it was horrible. Now, like I previously stated I do not usually make reviews for the public to see, but unfortunately I tried to call this establishment 4 times from 10:40 am to 11am (hours start at 10:30 everyday) and did not receive an answer, therefore I am obligated to write a review about my experience. I would not want this to happen to anyone else and being that I am pregnant, this type of sickness is dangerous to not only me but my child as well. My family and I went there Monday night for dinner and it was super packed which mean good food! So we parked and the line was a little out of the door, but what can expect it just opened. EVEN better!! We waited all but a couple mins and we were next in line ordering our food. We got up to register and we were greeted with a bunch of friendly faces. I ordered chicken strips and my husband ordered chicken wings for himself. He ordered his wings plain so we can try some of their sauces, we ordered about 5 sauces to try out ( which were all good). Once we ordered we went to find a table, the overall atmosphere was nice, they have table, booths and an outside patio to eat. We found a table and we figured the wait for the food would be a little while since they were super busy, but nope we waited the normal time, maybe 5mins or so and our food came right out. Nice, hot and fresh! The food is good! Chicken good! Wings good! Fries good! We will definitely be back there soon and try some other items on the menu! Had to give it one star to be able to post, but if I had my choice I wouldn't have given it anything. The wings were luke warm with sauce dumped over them and the fries are frozen. I ordered the cheesecake dessert but never received it. When I initially ordered I asked the girl to hold it until after I finished my meal. A girl came by the table, took my receipt and never came back. My daughter went to the counter and was told they were making them. My family and I ate here today for the first time. Very clean place with friendly staff. Took a little bit to get our food but that is understandable with fresh fried chicken. It takes time to cook! When our food came out it looked great but all of our fries were cold. I approached the manager and told him about the fries and he was very apologetic. He said he was going to replace our meals with fresh ones and he did. Took about three minutes and we had fresh hot meals back out. They also gave us four of their jar desserts as a way to say sorry and make it right. The entire situation was handled very well and in a professional manner.
