Usually cheddars is good, but I got sick yesterday 5/23 the salad was horrible. The tomatoes tasted bad. The pot pie was not good at all. My friend sent back her spinach dip because it tasted sour. I should've sent my food back. I was so disappointed in the service. I guess I won't be going to cheddars anymore.! such a disappointment. Very dusty in there something fell off of the fan above us lint, dust or something. Don't recommend!! read more

We finally decided to try Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen and on our first visit were pleasantly surprised. Our server was very accommodating, very pleasant and was focused on attention to detail. The food was good, however, we found that everything had a bit of jalapeño or spicy chipotle in the mix. The menu does not highlight that as it should for people who are sensitive or allergic to spicy. We did like, however, the atmosphere in the restaurant. We did go back for a second time because maybe the first time was just a fluke, but found out that it was not. We tried to change up the dish. We had the first time but found that the second time around was the same experience. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody who does not have an aversion to spicy food. Im not exactly sure why the ratings for this place is low, but we dined in on a Saturday around 1230 pm and had a great experience. Our server was attentive, food came out on time. Would recommend the spinach dip, better than others that Ive tried. Got the grilled white fish- nothing too special about that, bit too salty for my liking. I tried my brother's order of ribs and I liked the flavor and how soft it was. My son almost finished his cheeseburger which doesnt happen too often. Overall, the menu prices are pretty good actually, considering that most meals had two sides. And dont forget the fresh croissants they give out! We were in the Embassy Suites San Antonio Landmark area, so we visited @cheddarskitchen for lunch yesterday. Love the complimentary Honey Croissants. Dad and I shared the Ribs and Shrimp with mashed potato and a side salad. Hubby had the Country Fried Steak with mashed potato and corn. The ribs were tender. Tonight we decided to go to Cheddar's. This is my first time being here. I was really impressed with the decor it's very warming and has a nice feel. It has a fish tank in between the bar and dinning area. They gave us buttered croissants we ordered the queso chips and salsa. Chips were okay and the salsa was good the queso reminded me of nacho cheese. I ordered the half rack of ribs with chicken tenders. I also got the side Caesar salad. My wife got the grilled chicken Alfredo. The salad was good with a decent amount of dressing the croutons were very good. The ribs were all off the bone and a good size the portions weren't small at all which was nice and we had left overs. Our waitress was super nice and friendly. Excellent! Just excellent! I had to order from out of town for another person. The order went in at 9:15pm, to be ready at 9:38pm. I worried because when a restaurant is due to close 20 minutes after your meal pick up... Well, usually that means old end-of-the-day scraps. The young lady who brought it to the car was very nice. The server was great, sweet, timely and knowledgeable. The food was good but while I was eating a bug crawled across the table over my knife, up the wall(sitting in a booth) and back down onto the salt shaker. I saw the host and called him over. He saw the bug and immediately moved me to another table but by that time my appetite was completely ruined and I couldn't finish my meal. My server notified me that he told the manager. We literally just left Cheddar's off I-10 West near the Rim. The hostess just told us that she had no waiters clocked in, yet, even though they were there. Then came back after a few minutes, and said she has one waitress that was really busy and would try to get to us. We walked out and decided to go elsewhere. We went to the Rim location. The food was awesome as always. The ambiance was pleasant. The service was good, but our server did not seem to want to give me my change. Admittedly it was $.10. So he told me a coworker was getting my dime then he brought me ten ten Pennies. I realize this was an attempt to get additional money, but I am personally tired of this practice. Came here to eat and had a drink with my classmates after our final exam. Love the food here! Their shrimps are perfectly cooked as always. I especially came here for their watermelon margarita! So I read the reviews of this Cheddar location before entering to eat. I was craving some soup and wanted to just have a quick meal. Upon entering, we went right around 11am yesterday. It wasn't busy at all which was nice. I told my waiter that I came in just to have some bowls of soup. She kind of seem irritated at me because we just wanted soups. Once my soup was finished, I wanted to eat something light. So I used the kiosk and ordered a kids Alfredo Pasta. My waiter comes back and explains to me that she got in trouble from me ordering a kids meal. She explains this to me as she gives me my pasta. She said the manager wrote her up because customers cannot buy pasta if they are under 12. After all this commotion, I didn't eat the pasta. It really rubbed me the wrong way because the manager should have come to talk to me about it and not the waiter. My waiter didn't do anything wrong, plus every one is short staff. This lady is here trying to work and make a living too. Plus the whole purpose of ordering off a kiosk is to make it easier for the waiters! So I was curious and I went to see if Anyone could order off the kids menu through the app. YOU CAN! So pretty much anyone can order of this menu at anytime without knowing if you are under 12. I am a Cheddars fan and I just wouldn't come back to this location in particular. read more

1. Service was horrible. Came in around 7pm and no one at the host stand there was a line out the door waiting to get sat. Servers just walking by. 2. The environment was dirty. Working in food industry and knowing what is expected of a server and of running a restaurant was not pleasing. Server took 20 minutes to attend to us. Mind you it was not busy. 3. Food was disgusting. I lost my appetite seeing the food come out. Broccoli cheese casserole looked like school cafeteria food. Chicken fried steak was a hamburger patty with extra fried crust around it. Overall bad experience wouldn't recommend to anyone. Went tonight with a group of friends and we had a good time the environment was pleasant and enough room for a group of five people. Our waitress on the other hand wasn't the best, yes she was really nice but failed to clear up the table when she kept coming by. The table was really cluttered and never took a single thing away until I had to call her over to remove some things. Then she was gone for a period of time. When we ordered our drinks for the second time she said she accidentally made an extra drink and said we can have it which we were like okay that was nice but then charged for it. Paid either way. The food was good but the customer service just wasn't there tonight. I ordered the chicken Cajun pasta which was a lot and my partner ordered this hot honey tender thing?? The sauce on the side wasn't good luckily he got it on side and not on the chicken. Spinach and artichoke dip was good but not like how it used to be a few years back. I visited with a party of four and ordered a half rack of ribs, garden salad, and broccoli rice casserole. The ribs were horrible. My favorite meal here is the Monte Cristo sandwich. Unfortunately I was disappointed with everything we ordered. The croissants were cold but still good. The chips and quest was not worth the value. I remember they used to add meat to the quest. When I asked to the meat added, the young lady said they would have to charge because the now use a hamburger patty. The value for how much food I got was the only thing positive in my online experience today. I ordered pickup for a chicken tender meal to be ready at 5:00. I got to the parking stall and checked in online at 5:01. I waited and waited. It was 5:11 so I called to check on my order. While it was connecting to the kitchen, no one answered then suddenly someone walked out with my order. When I got home the food was lukewarm but not only that, everything was tasteless. The rolls were unusually soggy and bland. The fries were soggy and green beans seemed very sweet and also soggy. The best item was the tenders which were alright, but still not hot, just warm. Attempted to order online from work and it would never allow me to add the food to my cart. I called them to place an order to pick up in my way home and they told me they would take the order but wouldn't prepare food till I was there. I offered to pay for the food ahead and was denied. Spoke with a manager and he said ok this one time we will do it, handed the phone over to someone else and they refused to start preparing order ahead. I am not sitting in the parking lot waiting g 20 minutes for you to prepare my food, if that were the case I would come in and eat. You just lost my business!! We cashed out for our drinks at the bar when the table was ready. Emily was our server and she was amazing. Fast, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the menu offerings. The honey butter croissants were out of this world - flaky, warm, sweet, with down home flavors. I tried the Sante Fe spinach dip and was just not what I expected, was more spicy that I wanted. Not impressed. Sat at the bar area since I was by myself. Ordered fried chicken and a bowl of broccoli soup. I had to ask for a wet rag as the bar top was very sticky. The soup while Ok was not very tasty, but it was edible. The fried chicken was plated well and had a good presentation it just had no flavor. I walked in knowing that I had to have a chicken pot pie! comfort food, memories of childhood, just plain great food? And it not only met but exceeded my expectations. Added to that a flakey croissant - yum-yum and a delicious salad! Terrific lunch. My friends each had something different so I got to hear uhs and ahs over delightful soups, flavorful chicken and basically great reviews of everything on the menu. It's my first time to have dinner here, just need to try it and see how good the food they serve here. I ordered the blackened white fish. Although it's not really blackened at all, it tasted fresh and seasoned well. By the way thought it looked like they are really extremely busy, we we only waited less than 10 minutes to get seated. But the text from the hostess indicating a honey buttered croissant will be waiting for us , got me excited. We got seated and we only got the croissant after I asked what the text is all about. Our server apologized saying they are busy that's why she didn't get the chance to serve it at once. Anyway, my cousin ordered the salmon and he also opted for a side salad to replace one of the side choices, it never came with his order. We were expecting that it would be served ahead, I again asked for it, and that's the only time the brought the salad to our table. Food here really tastes good, I could really tell it's been prepared to order, however the service sucked. I understand they are busy and most likely our server is already tired but that doesn't mean services suffers. We also ordered the chicken pot pie to go with the side salad, my cousin never touched his side salad since it was served late so we just took it home as well. I could have given them a four star rating but because of the service, they lost one star out of the four star rating I'm supposed to give them.
