We arrived just before noon and we were seated promptly. However, that is the only thing that was prompt about our lunch. We ordered the lobster corn fritters to share and each ordered the ahi tuna poke bowl. Long story short, our food arrived just before 1pm despite ordering in a timely manner. I asked for the check when we received our dishes since we had a meeting at 1:30. The waiter made no apologies or explanation for the slow service. The food was mediocre at best. The restaurant seemed popular with the business crowd and others received their food more timely than we did so we may have just been the unlucky ones who received poor food and service. read more

Went here to celebrate a friend's birthday and we ended up leaving early because the service was so bad. The waitress got extremely upset we were ordering appetizers and drinks during happy hour rather ordering dinner. She made several rude comments to us about not ordering enough food. After paying the bills she accused us of not paying in full in front of her manager. Once we showed her we all paid she then found the cash someone had paid with in her apron. Bummer since it is a really good spot with great drinks and food. Would have spent a couple more hours there ordering dinner and drinks if she was not our waitress. read more

This review is specifically for dinner service on Friday- 9/25. I made a reservation 2 wks in advance for a party of 10 for a 7p Reservation to enjoy the patio and live music. I had been eyeing this place for awhile and excited for all of us to enjoy the restaurant week menu. HOWEVER the rude ass manager who was on site for 7pm service DEFINITELY soured our entire experience! I arrived on time for the rezzy and the 2 ladies at the greeter stand told me that they were getting our table ready. Cool. So I sat at the bar for THEM to get our table ready. In that time a few of my guests showed up. Next thing I know- the manager comes over and he tells us that we can't be seated outside? I'm like. Why not? Oh we can't do a party of 10 outside?! How so? I said I made the reservation well in advance, so if you couldn't accommodate - then you should have said so! He motions to a table inside and says we can sit there. No! That's not the plan. This man continues to literally argue with me and then tells me - well you're late? What? It's 7:08 (during his arguing) then next- oh the entire party has to be here. Ok? And then continues on about how he is trying to accommodate and then tries to Re confirm my party size and I'm like- we will seat who's here now since you keep making rules as he went along. It was as if he wanted me to give up and leave? We are in the middle of covid and you all messed up? So we are now a group of 6 seated on the patio. And now we see- you could never put tables together ANYWAY b/c they are HeAVY wood! Our server comes over - takes our drink and food orders- we order from dinner and RW week menu. Everyone enjoyed their meals- BUT the server never came back to ask how the food was/need anything/offer any actual additional service. We had 2 other ladies join during dinner. So our party size was 8 overall. So- they surely took 20% tip, right? The food and ambience are very nice for dates/groups/fancy casual vibe. We ended up going across the street after dinner to 400 gradi and had more drinks, some even ordered pizza AND we had an excellent experience with their manager and overall service. Didn't help that we were the only black people at Sloane's either considering 2020. I am Also writing to Sloane's top management in addition to this review. Do better! read more

I just recently had a bridal luncheon here and it was so amazing. From the breakfast bread basket to all the entrees it was great. Not only was the food tasty but the staff was wonderful! They made sure my group had everything they needed. At one point even asked if we were enjoying the music or wanted something else. I mean who does that? I really enjoyed this place after coming by for dinner! It's a perfect little date spot. The atmosphere is classy and absolutely lovely! The food was amazing as well. Sloan's Corner became our go to for outdoor dining during Covid. We continue to eat at Sloan's regularly both indoors and out. Although you cannot go wrong wi the anything on the menu, the baked brie is one of our favorite dishes in Dallas. The service always matches the food. For a quick bite, consider eating pizza at the bar.Sloan's does not disappoint. read more

So completely unacceptable. And, the rest of the food was really great! I called, and the manager was trying to justify the math as to what beef they were selling that evening. Very confused because the reviews are so gushing about this restaurant. Finally went last night and there were issues. First off there was only one bartender. We are bar dwellers and that's usually a good thing but he had to serve everyone at the bar PLUS make everyone else's drinks. It wasn't that crowded which surprised me that it took so long to get attended to: also based on all of the reviews I assumed everything on the menu was stellar. I ordered the calimari and the croquettes. They were okay but bland. Nothing to write home about. My husband got the builliabase which was the same. Would we go back? Yes. I went to Sloane's corner today for lunch. It was a late lunch (3pm). The girl at the front would NOT seat me until I gave her my phone number. She said it was for CONTACT TRACING (covid) and just in case I left something at the restaurant. What? CONTACT TRACING? I told her I didn't want to give her my number. She said it was the policy to get my phone number. SHE WOULDN'T SEAT ME UNTIL I GAVE HER MY PHONE NUMBER. I looked around the restaurant and there was NO ONE in the restaurant but the staff. I was furious. Reluctantly, I gave her my number. I fumed through the whole meal. Finally, I decided to call over the manager since no one else entered the restaurant the whole time we were there. IT WAS EMPTY. I wanted my number off their computer. The manager was nice and said that she would talk to the girl at the front. I will never go back. We walked in a little after closing and they went out of their way to make sure we felt welcome to join them for dinner still! The server was top notch and the food changed my life!! We ordered the bread appetizer just as something small to warm us up and it was SO delicious we got another order with our food! Who orders an appetizer twice??? We also sat outside which was beautiful! Live music on the patio was the cherry on top (and actually what drew us in originally when we were walking by) I would recommend this place to EVERYONE and we will be back again!!! read more

Excellent meal at Sloane's Corner. We started with the aged cheddar potato puffs; great flavor, and an amazingly light texture inside. Next up was the charred tomato bisque, which was just a flavor explosion, so much more flavorful than most tomato bisques out there. Main courses were short rib and lemon sole dishes; both were so well composed, fantastic flavors, and perfectly cooked. The chocolate budino for dessert was a bit heavy, but still excellent. We were looking for somewhere to go and came across this place. Very nice and quaint looking place. We started with drinks as we looked over the menu. I had the Arbitrage, their take on an old fashion, and it was not disappointing. My wife had the Axelrod and she really enjoyed it. They use fruit oils for their flavoring instead of butters and flavored liquors. Our hostess, Traci was very polite and helpful with recommendations. For starters she recommended the Yellowtail Crudo. Almost like ceviche, but a little more classy. Very good!!! For dinner I thought they had the Nashville Chicken, but it was a lunch item, she was nice enough to ask the cc'ing if they could do it and they did. Definitely great customer service. The Nashville Chicken was a little gourmet, but it added a wonderful different flavor from what I'm used to. Topped it off with dessert and an Irish coffee. Great experience!!! read more

Chef Gee delivers a true Michelin star culinary experience. Every dish is well thought through balancing a Myriad of flavors And textures. The flavors May include the sweetness of tomatoes, The bitterness of kale or arugula and textures that provide a little creamy and crispness in every bite. In town for a conference, we felt like grabbing a burger close to our hotel, the Fairmont. We checked into Yelp and up popped Sloane Corner, five minutes away and reasonably priced. And... wow. What a burger! Juicy, creatively assembled, and so well seasoned that you could eat the patty all by itself. But don't. Bite into the whole thing. So yummy. I ordered mine with the Caesar salad and my friend had hers with fries so of course we shared. Both were decent: the fries were well seasoned, and the salad was a good honest Caesar, nothing to rave about but flavorful and refreshing. But the burger? One of the best I've eaten anywhere. It felt a little more upscale than we were anticipating, but the wait staff were down to earth and genuinely friendly and the place was comfortable. We'd definitely eat here again. read more

My wife & I recently enjoyed a wonderful evening at Sloan's Corner with some of our friends on a double date. The restaurant perfectly captures the downtown vibe with it's slick interior design, energetic music, and upscale culinary offerings. Both my wife and I ordered form the Mocktail menu and to our great delight the drinks were unique, delicious, and original. Anthony, the GM, swung by our table and went the extra mile to ensure the dining experience was a success, while thoughtfully answering our questions about the location, menu design, and future plans for the restaurant. Overall, Sloan's Corner offers an excellent menu selection, perfect location, and a posh environment. I highly recommend! read more

This is a very nice place where the food was great but the service and management on site left a lot to be desired. My husband wanted a Johnny Walker Black, they didn't have any; I wanted blue cheese olives or just plain olives with my martini, they didn't have any; we wanted a Paloma, they could not make it because they didn't have grapefruit juice. Then my husband ordered a Moscow Mule (from the manager) before our meal came, but it didn't come until we were done with dinner. When we brought this up to the manager, she was simply unfazed by our discontent and nobody offered any kind of apology. We were not expecting anything other than am apology; and by the way, we were there at 6:30pm so they weren't that busy at first and the waitress explained they had run out of all the aforementioned items the day before. Sloane's Corner is a terrific restaurant serving the Art's District, Downtown and Uptown. The food is terrific. But while it is a full service restaurant, if you haven't tried their pizza - you must. I believe they bill it as "Detroit Style Pizza" cooked in a square, cut in square pieces, and it has a wonderful crust and very tasty ingredients. We had family members try it first and they raved about it. So we tried it and it wowed! I think it might be the best pizza I've had outside of Chicago. I bet it becomes our go to spot for pizza. Dine in or park on the street and pick it up. It was a 5 star pizza! I am getting hungry to order again. read more
