    Mahi Tacos
    Melanie O.

To start off, I got the Spicy Tuna Bites, and they were good! You could actually taste the spice which I loved ! it's definitely flavorful. The lemonade was also really good and refreshing on such a hot day ! My only letdown was the Mahi Tacos, which were unfortunately quite dry and weren't my favorite. Despite the tacos, the rest of the menu looks amazing. I definitely want to come back to try some of their flights and their famous shakes! Not to mention I loved the aesthetic of the place, it was very pretty. And Tomas was super nice !

It was hard to find parking around here on a Saturday night. We ended up parking 2 blocks away and walking over. For a party of 2, we were seated immediately but took one of the last tables available. We had to sit outside but inside was pretty lively. It was very artsy and there was even live music. I ordered a chocolate shake, the famous zucchini sticks, and truffle kimchi fried rice. On a side note, I like how the breakfast menu is available until 2PM. The food took a bit over 10 minutes to arrive. The zucchini was delicious and pairs well with the ranch. It was lightly battered, melts in the mouth, and perfect. The fried rice came on a hot plate and it was really good too. The cheese, green onion, and kimchi work really well together. The bulgogi in the rice was also very good. The milkshake was really thick and my only complaint is that my compostable straw broke. Overall this is a really fun dinner spot.

Just off of highland you'll see the cutest little quaint resturant nestled in between another breakfast spot and other businesses. On the outside it looks like any other hole in the wall. No line awaiting to get in and on this hot sunny day surprisingly not anyone dining outside. Once you enter the doors your awestruck and greeted to a whimsical floral oasis, unique seating an abundance of orchids and a dreamy escape. The breakfast join on the outside was like stepping through the doors and entering another world. Speaking of "stepping" in, as a disabled traveler/ diner who switches between her cane and wheelchair i am sorry my chair friends your best option is to dined outdoors and hope you do not have to use the restroom as the place may be ADA friendly for some it is not truly handicap accessible as it is fairly narrow inside limiting the room to freely and comfortably move around on your own. Due to the unique nature with seating arrangements inside getting a table that works best indoors is not truly easy. The pathway to the restroom very narrow and although the restroom is fully handicap accessible please note the establishment itself is dated and was not built with us in mind. The day we dined i did have my cane and only needed to clear one step which was no issue given it was a good day. My struggle came with the pillows sliding in my chair that were for added comfort and that was all. When it came to the food , menu selection and the service 5 stars across the board maybe even more. Your senses and taste buds seemed to react to the menu as one glanced over. The breakfast choices sounded absolutely delicious. For generic items the combinations of fresh ingredients and seasonings made your mouth water with anticipation. The handheld section trapped me. I sat and contemplated should I do a burger, sandwich or a wrap. I have to look for options that tend to be MS friendly and there were so many options however although medically necessary I Hate having to pay extra for substitutions such as a gluten free bun $2.50 but knowing the brioche bun would not trigger a major reaction i opted for the Black and Blue burger medium well and upgraded to truffle fries. The burger was incredible in size. As the plate was placed in front of ne I was nearly salivating because the aroma of caramelized onions greated you first with a mixture of garlic and cajun spice. One bite and the taste buds hummed in satisfaction. The Angus beef patty cooled to perfection so juicy and thick cut. The taste box blue cheese crumble garlic aioli, caramelized onions and lettuce all in one bite had me devouring this burger. The truffle fries were not salty and flavored to perfection. When it came to the Mimosa flight it was not only aesthetically pleasing to look at, it was truly jam packed with unique flavors. My favorite in line was the Mango drago fruit first. Very light and fruity with the perfect amount of sweet to tangy flavor. Pair perfectly with the entire menu. The blue curacao elderflower was a unique and refreshing taste . Not as sweet but gave you a tropical earthy vibe not to over powering but just enough to linger on your tongue. In third was the lavender honey. Very floral and a fresh palette changer. A perfect after meal cocktail to wine down with. The lavender flavor was very floral and delicious. Comparable to rose water so if you dont like floral stay away from this one. They also offer coffee and tea flights while you dine. My overall verdict 4.5/5 service was phenomenal food delicious cocktails tasty. I will be back and a frequent traveler I just dont feel to the demographic I write for it is necessarily a great spot for those who use larger mobility aides as its not handicapped friendly but? If you dont mind dining outside give this place a try. I've lived here my entire life and can't believe how I never visited a resturant that would transport tou the momemt you stepped inside.

Excellent place! Jessica was our server and really was A1. We had the Chinese chicken salad and the Cobb salad. Our favorite part was the strawberry lemonade!!

We popped in on a late afternoon/ early evening Saturday to no wait and a fairly empty place. It looks like a green house with all the plants and has an outdoor feel to it. Service was friendly and the food was decent. I think breakfast may be better, best on other reviews. But this served our purpose after a nice bike ride. The shakes were also extremely tasty!

I have been refunded for the additional charge, I truly did like this place. The food was extremely delicious, I can't knock that down that's for sure! Most workers were nice and attentive.

Pretty good spot. A very unique and delicious breakfast burrito! Parking is a bitch to find. Service was friendly. Nice ambiance - reminded me of Cambria or Carmel with all of the plants inside.

Amazing brunch spot ! Love this place and the great tasting eats, they have plenty of choices on their menu and indoor/outdoor seating available. Inside is very tropical looking, also a great place for outdoor seating. Quick and easy service, all staff were very nice and polite. Would definitely come back to this place when I come back to visit.

After years of walking and driving by, my girlfriend and I finally stopped into Sloopy's Beach Café, and wow--we've been missing out. I had the French toast, and it was hands-down one of the best I've had in the South Bay. The fresh strawberries and blueberries were a perfect touch, and the chocolate drizzle brought it all together without being over the top. My girlfriend ordered the pork shoulder eggs Benedict with a side of breakfast potatoes. She loved it--and I ended up finishing off the potatoes (no regrets). Their house-made hot sauce took it up another level. The atmosphere was just what we needed. Garden-style seating, mellow early morning vibe, and only a couple of other people around. We were the first ones in, which gave us a chance to soak in the place without feeling rushed or crowded. Location-wise, it doesn't get much better--just minutes from the beach. Parking can be a little tight, but luckily we're local. The staff were friendly, not overly chatty, which was actually perfect that morning. Calm, peaceful, and a great way to start the day. Already planning my next visit--definitely going back to try the burger. Sloopy's has officially made it onto our local rotation.

The restaurant is very cute and whomever takes care of all the plants has an amazing green thumb. Everyone enjoyed their lunches and while there was only 1 server, she did well to check in with us. The only negative for me would be that the whole table had their food for probably 8 minutes before my branzino was brought to me. Kids want to come back. That says enough in my opinion.

Went for late breakfast, party of 4 and it was a great experience. Friendly host and staff! We ordered the vege Benedict, bacon Benedict and the BLT breakfast, shared a French toast, and they were all delicious. We also shared all three mimosa flights and did a big tasting! That was a highlight! We also enjoyed the tropical garden decor and plants everywhere! Will be back!

Our server, Raquel, was lovely and on top of things. I had what I think is the best Mai Tai I've ever had, even while in Hawaii! Just delicious. We enjoyed the fried asparagus and bacon deviled eggs as our appetizer. The buttermilk fried chicken, crispy chicken sandwich and the ribeye melt were really good, but I am STILL thinking about how incredible Cha Cha's Spicy Rigatoni was. So incredibly creamy, and full of flavor, with just the right amount of heat. My daughter orders this every time it's on a menu, and this is by far the best I've ever tasted. SO good. We had mentioned we were celebrating our twins' birthday, and they were served two lovely pieces of chocolate cake with a candle, AND a card for each of them signed by the staff. Very solid and served with a great hot sauce. The spiced hashbrowns were also a very nice touch. Overall, the menu felt stronger on the Mexican side than the Mediterranean. These plants appeared to have union representation. They're everywhere. Hanging from things. Growing out of things. Quietly observing your meal. The whole place feels like someone built a really nice restaurant and then let nature move in as a long term tenant. The room hums. Not loudly. Not aggressively. Just enough. Glasses clink. People lean into conversations. Servers weave through the room carrying plates that look heavy enough to alter their center of gravity. Nobody seems rushed. Everybody seems busy. It's a difficult balance. The biscuits arrived first. Now, I'd heard about the biscuits. People talk about these biscuits the way fishermen talk about the one that got away. Slightly dramatic. A little emotional. Hard to verify. Turns out the stories were true. Warm bacon cheddar biscuits with maple butter. I took one bite and immediately understood why people order a second round. The outside has just enough structure to remind you it's baked. The inside is soft enough to make you wonder whether butter has secretly become a building material. We ordered another. Not because we needed another. Because apparently that's what happens here. The creamy polenta showed up next and felt like the culinary equivalent of a weighted blanket. Comforting. Smooth. Relaxed. The sort of dish that encourages you to slow down and stop checking your phone. The duck was one of my favorites. Lightly fried with crisp skin and tender meat, resting on white Italian beans and rosemary. It felt like something a French chef would cook after spending a weekend in the countryside and becoming briefly inspired by fresh air. At some point you stop evaluating food and simply nod in agreement with it. This was one of those moments. Dessert was equally dangerous. The olive oil cake arrived with strawberries and disappeared much faster than logic suggested it should. The cheesecake somehow managed to be rich and light at the same time, which feels like it should violate a law of physics somewhere. Service deserves its own mention. The whole team operates like a group project where everyone actually did their part. Plates appeared when they should. Water glasses mysteriously refilled themselves. Questions were answered without anyone making you feel like you should already know the answer. The chef's French influence shows up everywhere, but not in a showy way. Nothing feels complicated for the sake of being complicated. Everything feels like somebody spent a lot of time thinking about it so you wouldn't have to. By the end of the meal, I realized Manhattan Beach Post had done something difficult. It felt special without feeling serious. You can dress up. You can come casually. You can celebrate something important or absolutely nothing at all. Just order the biscuits. The plants already know you're going to.

Some dishes could've been executed better. Going down the list of dishes I had here: - Bacon Cheddar Buttermilk Biscuits: These were more like scones rather than biscuits. Crunchy with good bacon and cheddar flavor. - Japanese Hamachi Crudo: Unique and I liked the citrusy flavor and creamy texture. However, 3 small slices of fish for $26 was overpriced. - Leafy Greens & Radicchio: Solid and crispy salad with a nice tangy dressing. The cheese also added a lot of sharp flavor which was nice. - Skirt Steak: Good flavor and char, but a bit tough. Also some dry pieces. - Chilean Sea Bass: Lemon orzo risotto was creamy and delicious. The sea bass itself was okay, nothing special. It felt overpowered by the risotto. The fish was moist and flaky though. - 20 Oz Prime Beef Ribeye: Quality was subpar relative to price. Portion size was solid by the steak itself was inconsistent. Some of the pieces were rarer while others were more well-done even though we asked for medium rare. There were also some dry pieces which I did not like. Flavor was good though. - Strawberry and Olive Oil Cake: Was confused since there was just a thin layer of cake, but realized the title also referred to the mousse. I would title it 'Strawberry Mousse with Olive Oil Cake" to make it less confusing. Regardless, this was a delicious dessert! Love the fruity strawberry and savory pistachio flavors as well as the smooth textures. - S'mores sundae: Got this on the house for my aunt's birthday. A generous portion but the components were a bit too sweet for my liking. I visited this restaurant for a birthday that I organized and my experience was overall good. Reservation was made easy using OpenTable and I could also mention it was for a birthday occasion. The ambiance was gorgeous with good mood lighting. Good for group and 1 on 1 dining. Parking is metered or street parking. Overall, I probably wouldn't come out of my way to dine here again, but my experience wasn't bad just not significant enough to put in my rotation. Would come back if someone treated me here though.

Customer Service Incident- 5-19-26 Check # 72 Table 31…read more This report outlines concerns regarding a recent dining experience at Tin Roof Bistro (TRB) in Manhattan Beach. While prior visits to the restaurant have consistently met high standards of quality and service, several service and billing issues during the most recent visit resulted in dissatisfaction and concern regarding the accuracy of the final bill and tip calculation. Following a lengthy day of medical appointments and a 90-minute drive from UCLA during rush hour traffic, my wife and I decided to dine at Tin Roof Bistro rather than return home to prepare a meal. Based on previous positive experiences, we expected the same level of quality and service historically associated with the establishment. Upon arrival, we were seated promptly and initially received courteous service from our waiter, Brandon. However, several issues arose throughout the course of the meal: We ordered two glasses of wine shortly after being seated. Despite the simplicity of the order, the beverages were not delivered in a timely manner. Our order included: * A Caesar salad to share * Bread service * Two entrées After an extended wait period, I reminded the waiter that the Caesar salad had not yet been served. The salad was then delivered promptly following the reminder. At the time the salad arrived, I specifically requested that the entrées not be brought out until we had finished the salad course. Despite this request, the entrées were delivered within minutes, before we had consumed more than a few bites of the salad. We asked staff to remove the entrées temporarily until we completed the appetizer course. The entrées were eventually re-served and were of good quality. Billing and Point-of-Sale Concerns The primary concern arose during the payment process. The electronic payment screen initially appeared accurate with respect to the total amount due. Based on the displayed total, I elected to leave a 20% gratuity despite the service shortcomings experienced during the meal. After requesting a printed receipt, I discovered the following: * The entrées had been entered twice on the bill. * A corresponding credit had been applied to offset the duplicate charge. * The gratuity calculation, however, appeared to be based on the inflated subtotal before the duplicate entrée credit was applied. This duplicate entry increased the apparent bill total by approximately 54%, which in turn increased the calculated tip amount accordingly. Due to fatigue at the time, I chose not to pursue the matter with management during the visit. However, I also observed a nearby table returning an order, which raises concern that similar billing or service issues may have affected other customers. Concerns and Recommendations Given the increasing public discussion surrounding questionable tipping and point-of-sale practices, this experience raises concerns regarding whether: 1. The issue resulted from an employee action, or 2. The POS system is improperly calculating gratuity suggestions based on inaccurate pre-adjustment totals. While I cannot determine whether this incident was intentional, I strongly recommend that Tin Roof Bistro review its POS system configuration and billing procedures to ensure gratuity calculations are based solely on the actual final total owed by the customer. Additionally, improved coordination between kitchen staff and servers regarding course timing would significantly improve the dining experience. This experience was disappointing, particularly because Tin Roof Bistro has historically maintained a high standard of service and consistency. Although the food quality remained good, the service delays and billing irregularities negatively impacted the overall experience. Should I choose to dine at TRB again, I will pay closer attention to the billing and gratuity calculations before completing payment.

Wow such a great find!! Can't believe how close this is to the beach and next to LAX and my hotel…read more Cute and quaint all day Thai cafe really love what they did here. Super laid back great spot to grab breakfast with friends and family or even impress that one foodie friend you haven't seen in a while! Now to the food! I ordered the Best Avocado toast, house made chimichurri, honey, nori goma, radish, and power green, sourdough! Fantastic so good prob the best avocado I've ever had ngl I've had some good ones but yeah wasn't overly sweet either had a great balance truly enjoyed this one! I also ordered a Breakfast croissant, well because I'm a foodie, which was absolutely delicious! Super flakey croissant with egg, cheese, lettuce, tomato, bacon, spicy mayo. Egg and bacon cooked just right all the flavors came together like a perfect bite every time. Even the tomato was red and brought a nice touch to the whole sandwich. The waitress was super busy as she was the only one running the front. She crushes it I've seen bigger restaurants struggle with more staff and less people. Thank you so much for letting change tables mid dinning to sit outside is the sun!!! I was truly impressed because this was the type of restaurant I was looking for this morning near my hotel and had healthy breakfast options and was local! Absolutely coming back to this gem anytime I'm in the area.. Thank you so Toast & Thai love your little cafe! Can't wait to try the other menu items, like the Biscotti's lovers waffles!!!
