Had lunch here on Labor Day. Service was great. I like that they have outdoor seating. A must try is the Raspberry Habanero Jam (served with the coconut shrimp). We were putting it on everything so order it for whatever you have. It's slightly sweet, a bit smokey, somewhat jam like, and just a bit of heat. Now for the COVID report. Waiter very professional and wearing mask at all times. Most customers not wearing masks while walking around. Bartender not wearing mask at all. I always really enjoy the sandwiches here. They have a terrific messy one with cole slaw. This trip however I ordered the prime rib. It was good and had a nice smokey flavor.comes with 2 sides of your choice and I chose a baked sweet potato and fried okra, both were great. We ate at the bar and had fairly good service. She was by herself and fairly busy. The drinks were tasty , shots and cocktails.it amuses me thAt people complain about the smoking. I and my family are non smokers, but this is a bar area. All the restaurants in Florida have patios that allow smoking in bar areas. All the other reviews seem to skip that the inside of the restaurant is a non smoking area. If smokers bother you, despite open air and fans, then choose their nice air conditioned booths . All in All, it's a great place for a drink after the beach or a tasty meal. Just wanted to say, found your place on Google as a kid friendly BBQ and bar. So glad the wife agreed to give yall a try. Hands down the best bbq I've had, your sauces tasty but the smoked meat didn't need them honestly. We tried the burnt ends appetizers which were fantastic tasted like sweet meat candy, also had the hog add some extra Chipotle sauce and a bit of the Carolina sauce. So fricken good had to order the Joel to go but had it the next day wifey asked for half but I couldn't stop eating it so I owe her one. If you're in the Cocoa Beach area and don't want to go far off the beaten path, this is a conveniently located BBQ spot. Unfortunately location and the service provided by our waitress is all they have going for them. Yes it's nice to have outdoor seating but that comes a dime a dozen in Florida. Yes our waitress killed it with speed of service and checking in on us to make sure things were good. As for the food, this is where things turn south for me. I know it's all personal preference but I believe the term "fall off the bone" is good for those that don't know BBQ. Might as well have just boiled it and called it a day. I want a little bite on the rib and these definitely lacked in that department. Wife enjoyed the half chicken. Said it was moist and again "fall off the bone" and I agree with her but it definitely lacked seasoning. The burnt ends were pretty much the best part of the meal. Not sure if it's just because everything else was a let down or that I really enjoyed the flavors profile that the pickled onions added to them. I picked up no smoke or charcoal flavors in any of the meat. Overall, I'd come back to give it another go and try other menu items since we will likely be visiting the beach often. Overall I will rate this as pretty good. I ordered the baby back ribs which was fantastic. The smokey flavor and the sauce that came with it was perfect. The fries were seasoned perfectly and tasted fantastic as well. Garlic bread was also pretty good. Everything was fresh despite ordering it through Ubereats (which is pretty impressive). My only complaint is the Mac & Cheese. It didn't have much flavor and it needs some serious public assistance. Overall, pretty good and worth the money. Though it did take about two hours to receive the food, but it was a Friday night so I suppose that's normal. read more

Tried Slow and Low while visiting Cocoa Beach. Both the food and service were very good. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich and I had half rack of baby back ribs. Both were excellent. Pork was tender and tasty. The ribs were also excellent. They were smoked pink throughout. Very tender with a little "pull" off the bone. Just the way I like them. Sides: wife had cold slaw , which was good but nothing special. I had the corn on the cob and macaroni and cheese. The corn has a fantastic presentation, but very bland and over cooked. The Mac and cheese was pretty good, definitely above average. Wish we would have gone earlier in the week cause I might have gone back and tried something else. Don't take my apathy for the sides as being a bad review, these folks know how to smoke low and slow. read more

My husband has wanted to try this restaurant for a while. We gave it a try on Christmas Eve. My burger was pretty good, but my husband was very disappointed in his pork plate. Thought it was sliced, but was pulled. First the pork was just okay, it was dry, he thought Sonny's is better. The beans were terrible. Said they tasted like out of a cheap can of baked beans. He was hoping for garlic toast, but just a regular piece of toast. Service was extremely slow, had to ask for service after sitting there for 15 minutes. Ordered, took over 35 minutes to get food. Then when done waited for check. After another 15 minutes had to go upfront to ask to pay. Don't know, maybe we just got them on a bad day. read more

Driest pulled pork I've ever ordered from a restaurant. It was so dry that even their bbq sauce couldn't save it. The flavor of the sauces were tasty. I also ordered fried pickles, they were just "okay", barely any breading coating the pickles. I tried my friends dish, they had the spare ribs, they weren't dry or bland but definitely not good enough to order again. Sorry guys, I'm a bbq snob and this place was just too dry. Despite reviews on here claiming service was bad and food was dry we decided to give it a try anyway because hey...reviews are opinions and everyone has one. Can't trust them all. Boy I'm glad we decided to go! We had an amazing waitress who went above and beyond recommending food options and site seeing attractions in the area. She also gave our two kids a brownie cupcake on the house. The food was really good as well. You can tell when you step out of the car that this is real smoked meat. You can smell it and the meat had outstanding flavor, texture, and was NOT dry. We had wings, smoked chicken, pulled pork, brisket, turkey, baby backs, and St Louis ribs and every bit of it was juicy. If I had any complaints it would be the sauce but again my preference doesn't match everyone's. I like a really sweet sauce with a brown sugar base and they didn't have one. They did have about 6 to choose from and they seem to be house made so that's still a plus for them. I would definitely go back when we come to Cocoa again. read more

Don't order alcohol from here if you want an actual drink. Drinks were watered down (the blueberry lemonade one) and when we politely informed our server to try to get it fixed, the server (a woman named Sammy) was bold enough to be passive aggressive in trying to convince us that it wasn't and began trying to bullshit us about liquor saying it's "smooth" etc. However, we know better when something is just a glass full of ice and watered down liquor to save money and fool people. She also wasn't wearing her mask properly and had it all the way down the whole time, don't go here if you're Covid-weary. The windowsills by the booth were dirty and overall the place needs a thorough cleaning. Yuck. The service was incredibly slow and unattentive, and it took a long time just to place our order. Server was just not very genuine or cared and was very fake and passive aggressive as mentioned before. Food was not terrible and was hot, and the blonde hostess was very sweet and friendly. Tried Slow & Low based off a recommendation and not quite sure why it was recommended. Went for lunch and was immediately not impressed with the cleanliness. I shouldn't be surprised that there was a hair in my chicken. Notified the waitress and it was remade, but it's tough to have an appetite after almost eating a strangers hair in your food. Waitress noticed I had hardly touched the food (duh- gross!). Still was charged full price for the meal I hardly ate and had just come out with a hair in it. I was visiting Florida for some relaxation and family time. Our adventures led us to Cocoa Beach, where we ended up finding a local hot spot. The Brisket Sandwich on garlic toast with baked beans and okra was my meal. My mom got Mahi-mahi, home style Mac and cheese and okra. The service we got from Mike and Stephanie was so good we ended up leaving Orlando and staying a night in Cocoa Beach so we could watch the sunrise and enjoy one more great meal at Slow and Low. I have been ordering from this location for 10 years. We have done 50/50 dine in to take out. I am so sorry to say the take out has gotten very unacceptable. Tonight for example. The Pulled Pork Early Bird is fantastic! Plenty of food with a 5oz portion of meat plus two sides and Garlic toast or Cornbread. We added some fried jalapeños as an appetizer so we could mix with the Pulled pork. Yum! Definitely worth getting again! read more

Me and my family came here for dinner the other day, and everything was absolutely amazing! The chicken sandwich I had was perfect! The crust was golden brown and the chicken was perfectly cooked. Being big boned (ok fat) I love me some smoked meat. Wow, that sounded awful. I'm not gay, I mean, I'm married, I mean not that there is anything wrong with that, I mean. Sh*t nevermind. Slow & Low is a BBQ joint across from Simply Delicious at the corner of 3rd and A1A in Cocoa Beach. It's called Slow & Low cause that's how they cook it. If you think it's a gimmick then check out the HUGE smokers they have out back (I always like to see where my food is cooked). The menu is a bit overwhelming, if you aren't a BBQ aficionado, so my suggestion is to just get a combo platter. You get a bit of everything and you don't have to use your brain once you walk through the door. This is especially helpful on Tuesday nights when they have dollar drafts. They have a great bar outside that looks like a tiki hut. Bartenders are pretty good and they have drink specials all the time. They also have the NFL Sunday ticket here but it's not really recommended for watching the game. They have those old school tube TV's and most are obstructed view. If you go with a group be sure to sit outside at the round stone fire pit table. If you go for a late dinner and have a few drinks then you can always continue the party at Cush later on. It's attached to the restaurant and shares a parking lot. Call a cab though at the end of the night will ya. I haven't been to Sonny's yet (the other BBQ place in the CB/Cape area) so I don't know which is better but you certainly won't be dissapointed you stopped by Slow & Low. read more

The baked beans and the bake sweet potato with whipped cinnamon butter alone makes this place amazing!! I sat outside in a nice warm January afternoon with a light breeze and reggae music playing. Felt so right. Got the half rack of st Louis ribs and a few oz. of pulled pork for lunch on the nice server lady's recommendation. They were both finger-licking good even if the pork was a little on the dry side. Side note: the meat comes out pretty much dry with the BBQ sauces (3 diff spicy levels) on the table for you. Now, it was a lot of food for lunch for a girl my size; but I couldn't help but clean off the two plates worth of meat and sides! Great atmosphere, great food, and great service!! Bar area is cool and an awesome laid back environment. Food is ok. Realistically it's a 3.5. Good portions and good prices though.
