We came before the rave rush came in. The nice lady was the only one working the entire floor/online orders, but the service was still very good. The food was delicious, the sundubu is honestly the best I've had. The seating is limited and the store isn't as big but it's totally worth it. If you're in a rush and just trying to get a bite, go elsewhere in case they're packed.

Open late to serve some of the best Korean food in LA. This spot offers a great selection of stews and authentic Korean BBQ. Ever combo order comes with banchan and fish as expected. The spice here is numbing but thrilling to slurp down with the rice. Portions are just right and meat is cooked fresh for you. Parking is ample but tough, i recommend coming later in the night or avoid the prime weekend times. We visit after Dodgers or Lakers games and always get parking in front. The location is a bit compact and homely but there is actually enough room for a larger party of 6-8 if you are willing to wait.

LA Tofu House has that soulful, comforting flavor that tastes like something your grandma simmered all day. Everything feels slow-cooked, honest, and filled with heart. I tried the tofu soup beef spicy soup (yook gae jang) and each dish was rich, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. It's usually quiet and a little empty, which I actually love, it feels like a peaceful hidden gem where you can enjoy your food without the noise or crowds. The lady who runs the front is super sweet, and they have other soulful dishes on the menu that make you want to come back to try more. Love all the side dishes (banchan) A cozy, soulful spot I definitely recommend.

Came here on a rainy night for some hot tofu soup. Food: 5/5 We ordered one of the combos and a al la carte ham and sausage tofu soup. The combo came with beef short rib, tofu soup, and rice. The soups definitely hit the spot for a rainy cold night. The soups were flavorful and the side dishes paired really nicely. The short ribs were a little too sweet for my liking, but the meat was tender and juicy. Service: 5/5 I'm really glad this place is open late! The server was really attentive and kept coming back to ask us how everything was. He also refilled our side dishes quite often. The soups came out nice and hot but the hot stone rice was just warm. Ambiance: 5/5 This place felt warm and home-y. Great for late night drunkies or comfort food.

Food: very good bibimbap, and galbi. The side dishes (banchan) were excellent too. Truly 10/10 in the regard. Service: The strongest part of the meal, and probably the reason this review has 5 stars instead of 4. Jeonghyeon Jang was our server and she went above and beyond at all times. She was kind and not dismissive at all even though only my friend was Korean and spoke Korean fluently. She was attentive to whatever me or my friend asked of her and she always had a great attitude and disposition. Ambiance: Nothing out of the ordinary. The restaurant has a very cool Korean vibe and I like how they have a Playlist of songs with the track displaying in one of the TVs in case you really like the song and wanna write it down for the drive back home. That was a nice extra touch, not gonna lie.

I keep telling myself I'll try something different here but I am too addicted to ordering their Milmyeon + La Galbi combo. The cold noodles here are just the right amount of tart and are deliciously refreshing. The LA Galbi is sooooo flavorful and umami. Would recommend getting some rice with it. Service is great and parking is generally easy.

LA Tofu House is so good! Been coming here for almost a couple years now and honestly it's one of the better places for soon tofu. Move over BCD with your high price and small portions! My go to here is the LA Galbi combo with beef soon tofu. And for $30 they give you so much Galbi, compared to other places that probably only gives you 3 slabs, LA tofu house gives a BIG portion. The service is here is amazing for only 1 lady running the restaurant. She is super kind and works hard to make sure every table gets what they ask for, and on top of that makes sure the uber eats orders are pumping on time. I heard it while eating how many orders were coming in and how much she juggles those orders and the dine in patrons I came here with my 9 month old and when I asked for a little side tofu and rice, she brought me a whole bowl of plain soon tofu on the house! Such amazing service and care. Will definitely continue to support this business!

Came here for a quick lunch because I wanted something warm. Super glad I did. The aunties at the front are very nice and sweet. They welcomed me and sat me down. I ordered on the little tablet that's attached to the table and from there the aunties brought out the banchans and water. The banchans were super fresh and delicious. When I eat Korean food, my favorite is always the banchans. I ordered the special tofu soup that came with seafood and beef. The tofu soup was so flavorful it yummy it felt like a warm hug warming my soul. Definitely come give this place a try. The service is great, the restaurant is super clean, and parking is free and plenty.

It was an uber eats kind of night... ordered beef soon tofu medium and the galbi special... It came with four banchan each, a fish, and rice...my boyf was pleasantly surprised by the galbi soup- he couldn't believe Korean because so different and yummy! Banchan included spicy cucumbers, kimchi, rice cakes and macaroni. The soon beef was plentiful and had delicious dumplings.... Loved every bite!

Impressed with how efficient waitstaff work here, they really work hard! There was one lady taking orders, serving and fulfilling togo orders as well. Just amazing to watch her work, they do deserve the tips they get. Tofu is OK, I feel like for house made tofu there should be a smoother texture but it was broken up in pieces before I even digged in. Flavor of the soup was great and medium was not spicy at all to me. Comes boiling hot perfect to cook the raw egg they give. I was hungry so went with the roast squid combo, surprised at the pile of food they give you it's like at least 50 to 100% more than what you would get at other tofu places for a combo. My friend got the chicken teriyaki combo and it was the same thing! Almost double the amount of meat in a huge pile, totally worth it... as you get full from the tofu soup and banchan and you can take the extra food to go for another meal. Banchan selection the most I have seen, service does it's best to refill as you finish dishes. I also took the leftovers home to eat with the squid I had and had a whole another meal. Service is a bit slower than you would expect as you're hungry and waiting but they are doing the best they can with the limited staff they have. Parking in plaza lot, typical Koreatown parking so bring some cash (just a couple dollars) for valet.

Incredible food! Friendly staff! Came here after getting my tattoo and you know banchan is the tell tale of a good spot! Did not disappoint! Kalbi great flavors! Would get again. If i am ever back in the area I will be back!

On our latest visit we took the Metro, exited at Wilshire/Normandie Station, and walked 8 minutes over. The restaurant seems to have updated their décor to a more modern and new look since my last visit. Also they have introduced a lot of new menu items, so it felt like an appropriate time to update my review and renew my support for the business. On prior visits I have tried both the Clam Kalguksu ($22.99) and the Chicken Kalguksu ($22.99). Both are delicious depending on what protein you are craving. The broth is incredible soothing and great for a cold day or just anytime you need comfort food. The noodles are chewy and pillowy soft, it just melts in your mouth. When we arrived on our latest visit it was as busy and popular as I remembered. We were lucky that they were able to seat us right away. This latest visit my boyfriend and I tried new items from their menu. My boyfriend had the Tokmanuguk ($20.99) which has rice cakes, dumplings, beef, egg, and carrot in their anchovy broth. I had the Chicken Jook ($23.99) which is the Korean version of a chicken porridge that comes with half a small chicken, green onions, garlic, toasted sesame seeds, squash, onions and topped off with a smidge of sesame oil. Our meals came with a little palette cleansing introduction of barley rice. Just a few bites, but it sets up your tastebuds for the meal. They also had some side dishes for the table. The food took a while to come out, but understandable for how busy they are. This food is made with love and your patience will be rewarded. When it came, it was SO DELICIOUS! I tried a bit of my boyfriend's food and it was so comforting. Perfect for those who like the chewiness of the Korean rice cakes or dumplings. I just love my chicken porridge a little more cause I'm obsessed with porridge whenever I can get it. I love how much vegetables Koreans are able to hide in their porridge while making the veggies so tiny, you won't even notice it. So healthy, delicious, and soothing. It was like a hug for my soul. Also, the portion was huge and both my boyfriend and I had a portion togo that was the size of another meal. You can't go wrong with their food here. I definitely want to make an effort to come back more often. Until next time!

Me and friend started with drinks at the bar - I got the hwachae milk punch, a pretty pink sip! My friend got the espresso martini, their take made with cold brew soju, Korean coffee mix, and makgeolli. Both were fun, well-balanced ways to kick off the night. Their honey butter chips were pretty delectable - fresh-cut potato, fried until crunchy and airy, then drizzled with a honey butter glaze that channels those nostalgic honey butter chip snacks. The sauce was good but can definitely be a sweetness overload, so if you don't have a sweet tooth, I would avoid ordering. Got the pine nut cold noodles, which was refreshing on a summer day - white noodles in a chilled soy milk broth with pine nut. The pine flavor was pretty subtle, so if you're into that, definitely get this, but for me it was just okay. The pork jowl was delicious though - comes with chili crisp and garlic rice, and we ended up taking some home because we couldn't finish it all! Service was great - we sat at the bar and got to watch the bartender work and chat. Parking can be hit or miss; you can either park in the several garage structures around ktown or the small paid lot in the Danbi plaza, but we came on a Thursday night and it was still pretty busy. Overall, a 9/10 meal with good vibes, cute drinks, and delicious food. Already dreaming about trying the galbi next time I'm here!

The restaurant was recommended on the Michelin guide. We made reservations online ahead of time. There is lot parking for $20 as well as street parking. HONEY BUTTER CHIPS ($8) - these were crispy, sweet, and salty. They're inspired by the ones in the bags but these were way better. The honey butter sauce on top was addicting. 4.5/5 SCALLOP PANCAKE ($25) - this was crispy, flavorful, and there were lots of scallops. I also liked the strawberry mentaiko dipping sauce. 5/5 BEEF TARTARE ($36) - this was silky from the bone marrow and the egg yolk. They came with the same chips as the honey butter chips to scoop. 4.5/5 UNI BIBIMBAP ($60) - I loved the sweet shrimp and the uni was silky. Note that this is sold at market price; it was definitely a smaller portion of food and you're mostly paying for the uni. 4/5 ZABUTON STEAK ($85) - the steak was tender and perfectly cooked. It tasted like it was in some sweet Korean marinade and was one of the best steaks I've had in a long time, even better than steak houses. Also, don't forget the delicious garlic rice cooked in beef tallow. This was absolutely amazing! 5/5 For cocktails both the luv u so matcha ($18) and hwachae milk punch ($16) were delicious and easy to drink. Note that they're soju-based and none of their cocktails contain hard liquor. Everything was so flavorful and we loved our meal. It's definitely a pricey one but we both thought it was worth it. This is a place I can see myself coming back to eat again.

If you're searching for some of the city's best pork, then those in the know will bring up Ham Ji Park. For 2 decades, generous platters of pork ribs and pork neck stew decked every table. Now, our Korean friends lament the loss of their favorite pork joint in the city. The Koreatown proper location is located in the Royal Plaza mini-mall, just a few blocks off bustling Wilshire. Discounted parking is available in a lot across the street from the Chevron gas station. From the street, the entrance is flanked by potted plants and an enclosed street-ery. Inside, stainless steel chairs are pressed up against wooden tables, each outfitted with a metal grill. Oppressive fluorescent lighting shines down on the stone grey walls, which are left undecorated apart from a few flatscreens. Multi-lingual chatter blends with the sizzle of platters. I visited with some friends for a weeknight dinner, and about half of the tables were occupied. We shared a spread of grilled platters and sizzling soups. The meal began with a carafe of barley tea and a mostly standard spread of banchan. Across our food, the best dish was the signature Charbroiled Pork Spare Rib. The ribs were flavorful without feeling gamey, and the meat was complemented by sweet caramelized onions. The pork ribs handily outdid the good-not-great Charbroiled Beef Short Rib. Lastly, the Milt and Cod Rose with Vegetables stew was fishy and briny, appropriately flavored for the Korean palate. The service was appropriately attentive, although I would've appreciated more intentional refills of our banchan ramikens. The rib plates cost upward of $35 each, while the soup was just under $30. The portions were hearty; a single entree platter could reasonably feed 2 moderately hungry bellies. It's a shame to hear that Ham Ji Park has closed; I'm kicking myself for not trying their pork neck stew earlier.

Even when we ordered the food, the server said "that's it?" as if she was offended that we didn't order more food (lower sales?) I'm not sure if we misunderstood her attitude but that's kind of how it felt like. The quality and size went down and it was just... not good. This used to be my #1 spot for cold noodles but our other fav place was closed today so we decided to come here. As you can see, the size of the cold noodles became smaller. Everything was packed in this small bowl which made it harder to eat. I think they changed the noodles they use because it wasn't doing anything texture wise. It used to be chewy and had a good buckwheat flavor. The broth tasted.. like water with a splash of bone broth. The quality of galbi was also a disappointing as I feel like it's became less and the meat was burnt with more fat/chewy bits. The leek pancake was ok but again, comparing it to my picture from January, it was bigger in size and more dough-y. Service was decent previously but it felt a bit cold today. Again, super bummed because we still love this place but I probably won't be ordering their combo again. You can see in my pictures how often we used to order the cold noodles from here and you can compare the quality.
