This place has a parking lot which is nice. There's no wait and you order on a tablet. There was only one server though so service was lacking. It also costs 50 cents if you need a box to take any leftovers home. Next time, I will just bring a Tupperware lol. The food is great. I got the galbi combo with the beef tofu soup. If you get the combo, you're getting a smaller tofu soup than you would without the combo. I wish there was more meat but surprisingly, it was still filling. The sides were delicious. Easy eats soon tofu in Ktown. Went for a Sunday lunch. There is parking in the plaza and was not forced to valet (which is often a thing in Ktown). Was sat immediately - ordered a beef soon tofu with spicy pork bulgogi. A good set of banchan arrived along with a yellow corvina. The soup and bulgogi came shortly afterwards. The soup was pretty good - albeit a little small, though the pork bulgogi was a big pile of meat. That was really good too. It kind of seemed like a pork bulgogi combo with a side of soon tofu soup instead of the other way around. None the less - was more than enough for 1 person and was tasty. The food was delicious, the sundubu is honestly the best I've had. The seating is limited and the store isn't as big but it's totally worth it. Open late to serve some of the best Korean food in LA. This spot offers a great selection of stews and authentic Korean BBQ. Ever combo order comes with banchan and fish as expected. The spice here is numbing but thrilling to slurp down with the rice. Portions are just right and meat is cooked fresh for you. Parking is ample but tough, i recommend coming later in the night or avoid the prime weekend times. We visit after Dodgers or Lakers games and always get parking in front. Service: The strongest part of the meal, and probably the reason this review has 5 stars instead of 4. Jeonghyeon Jang was our server and she went above and beyond at all times. She was kind and not dismissive at all even though only my friend was Korean and spoke Korean fluently. She was attentive to whatever me or my friend asked of her and she always had a great attitude and disposition. Ambiance: Nothing out of the ordinary. LA Tofu House is so good! Been coming here for almost a couple years now and honestly it's one of the better places for soon tofu. Move over BCD with your high price and small portions! My go to here is the LA Galbi combo with beef soon tofu. And for $30 they give you so much Galbi, compared to other places that probably only gives you 3 slabs, LA tofu house gives a BIG portion. The service is here is amazing for only 1 lady running the restaurant. She is super kind and works hard to make sure every table gets what they ask for, and on top of that makes sure the uber eats orders are pumping on time. I heard it while eating how many orders were coming in and how much she juggles those orders and the dine in patrons I came here with my 9 month old and when I asked for a little side tofu and rice, she brought me a whole bowl of plain soon tofu on the house! Came here for a quick lunch because I wanted something warm. Super glad I did. The aunties at the front are very nice and sweet. They welcomed me and sat me down. I ordered on the little tablet that's attached to the table and from there the aunties brought out the banchans and water. The banchans were super fresh and delicious. When I eat Korean food, my favorite is always the banchans. I ordered the special tofu soup that came with seafood and beef. The tofu soup was so flavorful it yummy it felt like a warm hug warming my soul. Definitely come give this place a try. Free parking at 10:30 on a Saturday night! Yes plz. This is a small place in a plaza with 10-12 tables. Digital tablets at the table for ordering, and these have a nice interface for easy checkout. Great banchan, lots of variety, hardly any really spicy stuff, so that's great for us spice wusses. Good galbi. We got both the main size, which comes with onions, and the combo size with an original soup, which does not include onions. We also got the tofu cheese corn which was good, but came out a little watery. Hot stone rice is always a hit! Don't forget to have them put tea in the crispy leftovers! Impressed with how efficient waitstaff work here, they really work hard! There was one lady taking orders, serving and fulfilling togo orders as well. Just amazing to watch her work, they do deserve the tips they get. Tofu is OK, I feel like for house made tofu there should be a smoother texture but it was broken up in pieces before I even digged in. Flavor of the soup was great and medium was not spicy at all to me. Comes boiling hot perfect to cook the raw egg they give. I was hungry so went with the roast squid combo, surprised at the pile of food they give you it's like at least 50 to 100% more than what you would get at other tofu places for a combo. My friend got the chicken teriyaki combo and it was the same thing! Almost double the amount of meat in a huge pile, totally worth it... as you get full from the tofu soup and banchan and you can take the extra food to go for another meal. Banchan selection the most I have seen, service does it's best to refill as you finish dishes. I also took the leftovers home to eat with the squid I had and had a whole another meal. Service is a bit slower than you would expect as you're hungry and waiting but they are doing the best they can with the limited staff they have. Beef bulgogi is broken. Do not get. Soondubu is where it's at. You come here when everywhere else is closed but don't want Sun Nong Dan or the loudness of drunk kids at BCD. The tofu soups are always good here, I do like how it's not overly salty and really easy to eat with the rice, like how it's supposed to. It doesn't blow your mind but will definitely take your mind off a long day (or night). I like the assorted (S2) here. The beef bulgogi the light I ate (Dec 2024) is definitely the wrong cut of meat. They used some lean thick-cut beef that was not tender instead of thin ribeye or sirloin. They didn't grill/saute it enough to get any good caramelization or 'grilled' taste. I'll say it plainly, it sucked. I don't know whether they got cheap or ran out of the right beef for this, but this will make Koreans cringe if they're willing to call this beef bulgogi. The pork bulgogi looks way more appetizing. The sides are all good. The standout: - Kimchi has a nice fermented action to keep you entertained. - Radish with small fish has a nice fermented salty taste different from typical LA Korean banchans. - Fermented squid, albeit salty, has a nice texture that keeps you going for more. - Thinly sliced radish was way more refreshing than expected, almost had a pear sweetness to it. - Bean sprouts are getting rarer as a banchan at popular chains, so it's nice to get some here I like how they have bibim nawnmyeon and milmyeon as an option if you don't want a hot tofu soup in your combo but an icy cold noodle. Most soondubu places don't do this. The lady serving us late night patron is really jolly and serves with a smile. She holds the place together with that charm and spirit. Please be nice and patient with her serving the whole restaurant, she may even crack a joke with you. read more

We came here the night after a concert/festival so everywhere was packed in LA. There was only one waitress working, and 1-2 bussers. There waitress was the MVP. She was so overwhelmed by the amount of people and the wait time, and she was still so SWEET. Definitely worth the wait. The sundubu was ok. HOWEVER, THE SPICY RAW CRAB WAS SO GOOD. BEST I EVER HAD. Ordering a meat dish substituting tofu instead wasn't gonna be cost effective on my end. I ordered the tofu japche appetizer as my meal. It could have been more flavorful, tasted good tho and made fresh and staff gave me a refill on the side dishes Kimchi cucumber (yummy always my favorite ) and potato salad. Staff were Super kind, friendly. The place was very clean. Served my dish in about 8 min or less than 10 min. Just myself dining inn with tax the bill was about 14. I've ordered from LA Tofu many times from food delivery apps, but I finally had a chance to dine here in person. They offer different "combos" you would expect to find at a soon tofu place. It kind of reminds me of BCD. I ordered the bulgogi combo, and the original soon tofu beef was pretty good, but the bulgogi was just ok and nothing to rave about...just a little too sweet and a bit coarse. The service was pretty friendly, quick, and attentive. A great thing about LA Tofu is that they also offer a larger variety of other Korean soups and dishes than you would expect to find at a soon tofu place. They're also open late. She's fun, kind, and happens to run the tofu soup shop with the best tasting tofu soup in ktown. (Surawon is also good, but I still go here much more frequently because it's more no frills, and of course, cus the owner is wonderful). Now, I don't know why I still try every new tofu soup spot that pops up.... But I do. There's a hipper looking spot that opened up last year near my apartment (if you keep your eyes out, you'll know what I'm talking about...), so I decided to try it out. Took one sip and instantly knew it was not as good. And what I mean by that is: depth of flavor, balance, deliciousness. Then, this last week, ANOTHER tofu soup spot popped up even CLOSER to my apartment. So, once again, I went to go support the new business. Wow. Instantaneously, my partner and I took one bite and said "hm."..... Got "spicy" and it was somewhat spicy, but was just...flat!!!!!! You really don't know what you got til you keep trying new shit against your better judgment... Never again. I went back to Young (that's the owner's name) and told her about the mediocre sundubu I'd had the other day. She told me she's been worried because business is tough. I'm just one customer, but I did tell her that hers is the best. Don't even me started with BCD. We were in the area after WII spa, and decided to give this restaurant a try. The prices are good and the food was as good as it gets. Service was great but there were many people that night being Jan 1st, food came a little slower but that is very understandable. Would be back again when we are in the area for sure. I don't really leave reviews, but this place is a hidden gem. I been living in Los Angeles since the 90s and I been to all sort of tofu houses. There's a lot of good tofu houses that are not in business today, that were amazing back in the days. If you think bcd is good I don't think you know what a good soon tofu really is. I can tell the broth is not just watered down and also is thicker than the usual giving it a deep umami flavor. If you like soon tofu try this place, you won't be disappointed! read more

My bestie and I needed a place to have our monthly catch up dates, and with how cold it's been I just wanted something warm and comforting and lo and behold this place popped up. Free parking? Lot right out front? Fairly easy access to the 101??? Sold. My bestie had the original soon tofu with beef and I decided meat was not the vibe that evening and went with the Egg Soon Tofu. Both of us split the Tofu Jabchae, and I am not ashamed to admit I ate most of the panchan. Let me tell you though, steamed egg is by far my favorite dish, having an egg soon tofu was top tier heaven sent! It was seasoned so perfectly that every bite was perfect. Fluffy egg bit of a crunch from a scallion, burst of flavor, I will be dreaming about this dish until next I go back. This is the type of dish you try and savor and then blink and it's half gone. And fear not, it paired excellently with rice and bit of soup in the center to allow for rice to soak up. The japchae was a risk I'll admit, I am not a fan of glass noodles but after trying this I can admit I may understand the love for them. Served warm, with shavings of various veg like carrots and onions and dark leafy greens (we all need those), the noodles are room temperature and hold the flavor of the dish so every bite is the same consistency. The tofu is soft and well cooked, bite size or easily cut for a smaller bite. I have to say the kimchi was aces, I usually just stick to the cabbage variety but I opted to try the others like the cucumber and let me tell you this is the first time I've tried them all and enjoyed them, they're all good and the same level of spice and heat, perfect for rice toppings. Service was quick too! From greeting to seating to ordering and serving, the wait wasn't long for anything. With an exception for a requested drink but I'm not going to dock points for that. And what's worse is that they still have online orders turned on across multiple platforms.
