I called on Friday morning because my furnace was recycling constantly and not blowing hot air consistently. Bobbi arranged for Connor to come out at 5:00pm to diagnose the problem. Connor arrived on time and after working on it for over an hour, he contacted his colleague London who was in the area. London came over and the two of them worked over an additional hour and checked out all of the systems in the furnace. They diagnosed that my almost 10-year old Nest thermostat was causing the issue. They installed an old thermostat from their truck so that we wouldn't freeze and I ordered a new Nest which was delivered at 6:00am this morning. I installed it and everything is working perfectly. They only charged me the $59 diagnostic fee, but they certainly made me a longterm customer. Smart Heating & Air Conditioning saved our day! Our heat went out during one of the coldest winters. My husband and I called several HVAC companies in area who were unable to help us immediately. Mike was not only able to send an emergency technician same day, but was able to come with in 4 hours. Our problem was repaired quickly and our heat returned within 35 minutes of their visit. I needed my thermostat replaced. My old one went out and my house had no heat for two days. Susie responded to my request within 15 minutes and had mike call me within 5 minutes from us hanging up. First of all, I only gain gratification of sharing my experience with others that are looking at replacing their furnace, air conditioning, or HVAC. Bottom line, would I go with Smart Heating and Air Conditioning again? Definitely! The great customer service and experience started with the Lulu who answered my call to schedule an estimate. Sorry Lulu if I have your name incorrectly. Sam, who came to provide the estimate, asked us several questions on how we use the furnace and AC. I.e., what temperature do we like, how often do we hear the furnace/AC kick in and for how long, do we turn off/down when we leave the house, etc. We informed Sam we want to go with zoning because in the winter time we adjust the hallway thermostat (69) to be comfortable in the living room, but then time to go to bed the bedroom is cold. Likewise the opposite in the summer time. Unlike the other estimators who just wrote down 2-zoning, Sam explained to us that our 1968 house was not built for zoning; ex., lack of insulation and to save our money because the options we want will already make a difference. Those options were: 1. Add a return in living room across from supply air duct 2. Add a return in master bedroom across from supply air duct 3. Relocate the thermostat from the hallway, because the temperature in the hallway (where no one stays) controls the thermostat, down the hall near the family room. 4. Widen the supply register that cover half of the duct Sam was very informative, had our interest over having our business, and he kept in touch without being pushy or bringing down other companies. Smart Heating and Air Conditioning's estimate was very competitive. Also Smart Heating and Air Conditioning was the only company that offered three brands of HVAC systems. Upon looking at Smart Heating and Air Conditioning reviews, ratings (BBB, Yelp, Google, etc.) and how Sam represented Smart Heating and Air Conditioning We decided to go with Smart Heating and Air Conditioning. Upon notifying Sam, Sam ordered our equipment, and in four business days Sam called us to schedule installation, which occurred on Friday, Feb. 24, 2023. The crew (Benny, Willie, and Emilio) arrived promptly at 8 AM ready to go. They worked well together as a crew; each one knew their responsibilities. They were courteous, friendly, did a complete clean-up, including Vacuuming the closet upon removing the old furnace, placing drop clothes & wearing shoe covering booties, set up the thermostat, and made sure system was working correctly, asked us if we had any questions, and their replies answered the questions we had, and they were finished by 4:30 PM. Do not know if you can ask for a crew, but try to ask for this crew. Not saying other crews could not give this crew a run for their money. During the installation, a fourth person (Michael) dressed just like the crew showed up. I provided a cooler filled with bottles of cold water, although the day was cold, for the crew. And informed Michael to help himself. He replied "Thank you, but save that for them. I am here just to drop off supplies and pickup whatever I have room for to help these guys out." He checked on the crew to see how things were going and if they needed anything. Michael spent time with us to find out if we had any questions, informed us that he knew about our house, our needs, and our order. And just like Sam, Michael was very informative about HVAC, and to consider having our crawl space checked for rodents, leakage, etc. to protect and gain from our HVAC investment. Smart Heating and Air Conditioning has no financial benefit for they do not do this kind of crawl space work, nor did Michael or Sam recommend any company that does. Again, had our interest in mind over just a job. Lo and behold, Michael is the owner of Smart Heating and Air Conditioning. To me what he said, "save that for them", and showing up to drop off supplies and pickup whatever he could to help out the crew, speaks loudly for the kind of company Smart Heating and Air Conditioning is striving to be. You may ask, why is an owner dropping off supplies and pickup debris? Do they have nothing us to do? Well, to me, Michael is showing the crew and hopefully customers, that everyone at Smart Heating and Air Conditioning is a team member. He is not to big to help his crew provide great service. I was impressed with his honesty and communication during the process as I was not able to be on site. since he could not find the cause, they agreed to waive the initial diagnostic fee until a senior technician can come back the next day for further troubleshoot the problem. I needed a pro to complete the installation of 2 of 3 Nest thermostats because they needed C-wire power. The experience with Mike at Smart Heating and Air Conditioning was outstanding from start to finish. He is polite, friendly and knowledgeable. He used the existing unused wire so I saved money on the C-wire adapters. highest possible recommendation... i help an older friend who lives alone. her furnace went out last weekend... during a cold front. i called SHAC on sunday morning. they sent out sam for a 3pm-5pm same day appointment. sam took one look at the furnace, originally installed in 2001, and confirmed it had died and wasn't worth repairing. i explained that my friend was in her 90s and that it was 52 degrees in her house... and asked how soon they could do what to get her warm again... with no expectations. sam called the office. sam and the office got the owner on the line (on a sunday afternoon!)... and a new furnace was installed the next day. seriously. the next day. the entire thing took less than 24 hours. and, from the minute i called in i was wrapped in exceptional and responsive customer service backed up with automated/detailed emails at every step. kudos to sam for scoping out the situation immediately and setting things in motion, jackie in the office for calling me multiple times throughout, and bennie (and his assistant, whose name i forgot) doing a great job on the install and finishing by 2pm on monday. by the way, they gave my friend a great price that included a senior discount. your mileage may vary, but smart heating and air sure rocked my world this week. read more

Heater was leaking water. Had scheduled appointment on a monday, but the Technician Sam Hakimi arrived a day earlier. He was very professional and very nice. He told me that he would waive the fee for coming out, because I expected him on monday. He agreed to check out the leak anyway since he was here. He quickly diagnosed where the water was leaking from and told me he would send me an invoice via email to confirm how much it would cost to repair. He explained to me the serious issues that might have occurred if the leak was coming from inside the heater unit. I was relieved when he confirmed that the leak was coming from outside of my heater unit. Looking foward to a technician, hopefully Sam coming back to fix the leak.
