Had a gas furnace with electric ignition problem in starting up after many years of working fine. Mike responded quickly (as did several others) but was able to find a time on the same day to drop by. Was timely and his office gave in its text response a tracker for where he was, so was easy to be ready at the exact minute he was showing up (work from home so that was helpful as I continued to work online on a project with others). He diagnosed the problem pretty fast and showed a the hot surface igniter was faulty and was not actually the right part for our furnace (it had worked but prone to failing sooner than the right part--this was installed from another tune up from some years ago). Replaced that part with the correct part while also replacing the filter and was done and ready to go pretty quickly. I called Smart Heating and Air Conditioning to have my HVAC system replaced. Michael the owner came out and, bid the job. He spent over 2 hours explaining everything to me and left almost nothing to question. Michael provided so much information that I couldn't remember it all. After a bit of texting and a couple of calls, we had an agreement. Michael worked past 9pm that night getting everything ready for the installation. The installers arrived the next day. Benny, and his assistant were prompt, professional, curtious, and accommodating. The finished installation of the house heater, evaporator, condensing coils, thermostat, and return air filter cartridge is nothing short of what one would expect from seasoned professional installers. I now have a highly efficient, beautifully installed HVAC system, made right here in the USA at a reasonable price. I highly recommend this company. Not to be dramatic, but I feel like Susie and Mike from Smart Heating & Air Conditioning saved our lives! Coco county had a mini heat wave and my house has the worst insulation. The inside got up to 89 degrees! I was most worried about my fur baby, who is 17 years old and can't handle the heat as well anymore. My system is 40 years old, so I should have expected it to give out soon- but what horrible timing! Literally the morning after this discovery, Susie was able to squeeze me in for an in-home consultation by Mike. Between my interaction with her and Mike, I got the best vibe from them! Just genuine, honest people. Smart Heating and Air Conditioning came to diagnose our "dead" heater. I live in an old Victorian home it's very cold. A person with kidney failure and my 3 week old grandson had to be sequestered in 2 rooms for almost a week with space heaters. The technician told us the heater was dead, too big for the house, it's unfixable, this, that. They would cut us a "break" with a new heater for $8,200, since we have a new baby. (Jeez thanks). This Saturday, we had another company come and give us another opinion. Turns out, there was a sensor that was blown, tech changed it and what do you know? The heater is working, like it has been the last 7 years.The fix was literally $79.00.
