I ordered a Cobb salad which was $10 and it was nothing but giant spinach leaves and and over fried egg. My family has been in Destin for over a week, eating out almost daily, and this was honestly the best meal we've had all week! We each had a burger, smash fries or tots, and a shake, and everything was delicious. Well, let me ease your mind if you are on the fence, it was great! Apparently, Smashburger is under new ownership and it really shows! The staff was so friendly and courteous and the food was great! The owner seems to read these reviews, so I'm adding this information because I would want to know as a small business owner. The restaurant closes at 8pm, and we arrived at 7:45 and they locked the door after us and wouldn't let any more customers in. I saw them turn away about 5 or 6 parties before 8pm and they had obviously already begun cleaning the restaurant for closing before then because there was no tea or milkshakes available and my gluten free bun was cold like it was straight out of the refrigerator. They charge for sauce. I will not be back. Now I'm not totally unreasonable. I get it, you have a product and you need to make money, but in this particular instance I have to draw the line. Allow me to set the scene: it's lunchtime, I am hungry and walk into Smashburger and order myself a BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger. I sit down, it comes out quickly and looks good. The onion straws are crispy and perfect. The cheese is deliciously melted. The patty is hot and fresh off the griddle. In short, a perfect burger. Perfect but for one thing, the bbq sauce was apparently applied to the burger by means of an eye dropper and covered roughly 1/32 of the surface of the patty. No problem, I'll just pop myself up to the counter and get a bit more and we will be good to go. False. I approach a worker at the counter and ask for some bbq sauce. "Yeah...it costs $0.74." Tangentially, that's a bizarre amount to charge for anything, but okay. I explain that I get it, sauces are apparently a charged for item here, but I ordered a BBQ bacon cheeseburger and there was almost no sauce on it, and could I please have some sauce. "There is sauce on your burger. We put it under the cheese." Right. This was an odd moment. I've never been in a position where I had to argue about the presence of sauce on hamburger. She could not be convinced. Tl;dr - my bbq burger had no sauce. They wouldn't give me the sauce unless I paid for an extra side. Ate a dry burger and will not go back. read more

The burgers were very simple and tasty. I had a BBQ Bacon Double Cheeseburger, with the onion straws along with barbecue sauce. It was pleasing for the length that it lasted on the plate, considering it was a little small for my liking. I also ordered two kids meals, and they never came with fries. I asked one of the food runners numerous times, she said let me see your receipt. We showed her we had purchased two kids meals, and she wasn't aware that they came with fries, so she kept telling us we had to pay for a side that we had already paid for. Then she just kept taking food out to other guest while we still were fryless, I walked over to the register to ask for my fries that didn't come with the kids meals, I was immediately apologized to and got my fries problem solved. We wrapped up the meal and she showed up with the fries. Overall Ill give it a 3/5, the SmashFries were delightful and light, my tots could've used some tossing. My only major complaint is the portion size and the employee's lack of awareness. We walked in and saw trash on the tables, and we got done ordering and grabbing drinks, to my surprise there was still trash. Went to Smash Burger 1500. This was our first and last visit to this company. Only my daughter's food was delivered to the table. The person snapped WHAT? I explained we'd like our food to come together. Was told your order is not ready. Did you want me to let her get cold? When she brought my plate she rolled her eyes. The food was not appetizing. The one slice of avocado was completely brown. I asked to speak to the manager. Was told he was working the grill it would be a minute. I just wanted my money back.
