Came in today to dine in and was told that there would be a 25 min wait and 3 minutes later was told that it would actually be a 45 min wait due to the many online orders. Several customer walked in and left when they were informed of this ridicullong wait time. This is just an example of this business being understaffed,, worried more about profits than great customer service. Why online orders are more of a priority than their dine in clients is confusing to me. This is Smashburger, not a high end 5 Star restaurant where you can expect a long wait to be seated. More than 30 people walked in and left when being informed of the 45 min wait time. That's a lot of business lost to poor staffing and management. Must do a WAY better job. First time eating at Smashburger, and holy wow-- talk about salty! Even my salt-loving preschooler said the food was too salty and refused to eat it. Consider yourself warned. Smashburger used to be the only fast food restaurant that I would eat at however my chicken sandwich was so awful that I won't be going back. My son said his double smash burger was 10/10 which is great but my grilled chicken was inedible. The chicken definitely tasted like it was microwaved.. so rubbery and they doused it with mayo so all you tasted was mayo but felt the rubbery chicken in your mouth. I could not even finished it. Food was good- not as crispy as a smash burger should be, but my issue was with pricing and I think the server thought I was dumb but I was too tired to argue with her. I went yesterday and just wanted three patties and cheese ($2.50) each. She claimed she can't ring that up even though it's been done before. Instead she rang me up for a double cheese burger (over $10) then added the $2.50 for the extra patty. Scam and terrible way to retain customers. This smash burger is in the manhattan mall, more towards the south side near, sort of on the newish side close to sidecar donuts. Not sure why they got 3 stars, i think the quality is much better then your avg iffy fast food burger, and the fries were an interesting rosemary infused french fry. Overall, i enjoyed my burger and would definitely eat here again. Place is new and really clean inside. Not sure if they sell those smashburger t-shirts but i want one lol. I'm not the biggest burger fan (i know i know weird, right? lol) but some friends mentioned how great this place was and that there would be other option available to me if I tried it out. The sandwich itself was massive, flavorful and filling. You also get the option of regular fries, sweet potato fries, tater tots, Brussels sprouts, crispy fried onions or a side salad. To be honest I'm soooooo happy there are ANY other option than French fries because i don't like them.. lol.. don't get me wrong I'll eat a few here and there if they are in front of me but I'd prefer i just not see them at all because they just make me feel so.. The shake wasn't worth the $6 and didn't taste like chocolate AT ALL so i won't be getting one of those again and suggest you don't either. It's also a weird consistency. I ordered myself the double classic smash and my man got the double bacon smash. We also got an order of the haystack onions and the french fries (because you can't order just one side when visiting a new restaurant) and the cinnamon toast crunch churro shake. I do believe the shake was a promotional menu item, so it might not be available any longer. Aside from the cereal pieces they topped it with, the shake was delicious. The cereal pieces got pretty soggy, but that's to be expected... it is cereal. The burgers were cooked perfectly and rather large for smashburgers, paired with a delicious brioche bun. I would gladly drive all the way back here, from the valley, just for those haystack onions. I'm not in a rush to make the drive again, but if I'm in the area, I will absolutely stop in for a burger. Spoke with a nice kid and told him what modifications I need on my salad and he said "no problem" I received my order and it had onions all over it when I asked for no onions and I asked for the dressing on the side and got no dressing at all. I called them back and they said sorry but there is nothing we can do. You need to contact UberEats.
