This was actually my first time trying smashburger! I've always seen it in the neighborhood but never actually went there, but I'm glad I did. The service was pretty fast and everything's made to order I'm pretty sure. I got the Truffle Mushroom Swiss burger and it came out smaller than I originally thought it would be but still filling!! I ordered a side of sweet potato fries and those came out frickin delicious too. I gotta say the best thing about the burger was the truffle mayo!!! It was soooo flavorful and really tied the burger together. I highly recommend getting this one. The reason I took one star off was because my cousin ordered a Double Bacon Cheeseburger (i think??) and it was extremely salty, like to the point where he just didn't finish the rest of it. I feel like maybe somebody forgot and double salted it or something but it was just a bummer cuz I was hoping his would be good too! Fries were slightly on the pale side and considering there were only 4 parties in the whole place, the fries and rings weren't that hot. But it was tasty enough and clean. It seems like this place is usually hit or miss. I don't normally eat here, but when I'm off work for the summer, I'll meet my husband for lunch since it's close to his work. I always get the grilled chicken avocado club here - I've never had a burger here even though it is a burger place! This last time that we went the sandwich was so yummy and looked really good in my basket - see the picture below! I think the prices are a little on the high side for a burger joint- but they do usually have coupons in the mailers in the Summerville area. I've been to Smashburger a few times and each time I have not been disappointed. One main reason I love going is the fact that they have shoe string french fries. They're always cooked PERFECTLY. Updating my review probably for the last time since I am moving. The service here has degraded immensely over the past 2 years. I don't know if it's new management or inattentive employees. But it feels like every time in the past year I've ordered, either online or in person, my order comes out wrong. My wife and I order the same two things every time. There is no excuse for this. I'm so glad to see some more activity and businesses moving into Azalea Square. It can't quite compete with Towne Center in Mt. P, but getting there. Anyway, onto the food. Smashburger is a chain restaurant, but don't hold that against them. They have fresh ground beef burgers that they "smash" or flatten onto the grill. Its not the cheapest burger place to go, but they do have good quality ingredients so its worth the price. I they also offer several chicken sandwiches, which are "smashed" as well, or at least flattened out, in a good way. My favorite is the Avocado Club with chicken. One of the best features is the great bun they use. It's really pretty delicious and not all dry and starchy like some other burger places. Although I haven't tried them, they do offer veggie burgers and you can get veggie frites (flash fried carrots and green beans) as a side which I have tried and were surprisingly delicious. They offer a few different variety of fries, notably their smashfries which are thin cut and seasoned with rosemary and garlic...yum! Although not specifically endorsed by the restaurant, they appear to be dog friendly as they have outdoor seating. We ate their one night with our dog and the restaurant didn't seem to care. One tip, if you are going to get a shake, don't get it to go as they give you a significantly smaller amount than if you or it in, they give you the metal cup with the extras. This is an order at the counter and they bring you the food kind of place. The interior is nice and bright and relatively spacious. Be prepared to wait in at least a 10 minute line though to order. It's a pretty popular place, but I imagine over time, the wait will lessen. read more

Smashburger's truffle mayo really takes the burger to another level. I love Smashburgers's crispy thin patties. But don't take that the wrong way, they aren't too thin so you have no burger. Yes roasted brussel sprouts as an alternative to French fries. Which are delicious!! The black bean gluten free jalapeño burger I had was just as delicious as the brussel sprouts. I enjoy eating at any other smashburger location. To start with I ordered the big smash and when it came out both of my kids burgers had more actual meat on them. When I tried to point this out to staff they said that is the way it is and they can do anything to fix it. We are a family that does not like cheese and despite not being charged for it all of the burgers had cheese on them. They were sent back and when the "correctly" prepared burgers came back the fries in the baskets were cold. Don't bother asking for the manager because there was not one on duty at 7pm. I guess management does not care about the diner crowd. Again smashburger is good but this location and major issues and will not get another visit from me. I have attached a picture of the patio surface that is turned black with filth. This area should be cleaned with the rest of the store but why would they want to attract customers. read more
