The entire staff at Smiles4OC is knowledgeable, friendly, and welcoming! They all work to make your time in the office and in the chair as comfortable as possible. Dr. Rolfes takes plenty of time to listen to his patients and ensures they understand their options. From scheduling to cleaning to payments, each member of this staff is patient and kind and here to put patients first! I would recommend them to anyone who ask! read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Rohlfes at Smiles 4 OC for about 5 years and had extensive implant work done by him. I have always found Dr. Rohlfes and this office to be personable and extremely competent. He has always taken the time to explain the procedures and make sure I understand proper maintenance techniques. Because I commute to Southern California from Vermont Vicky, Paige and the other front office staff have always worked hard to accommodate my travel schedule. I also regularly see a hygienist in this office - Lisa - and find her services to be thorough, pleasant and nearly painless. I highly recommend this practice to anyone who wants to get top notch dental treatment. I was recently seen for maintenance services under their COVID protocols and was impressed with their additional safety features such as lobby check-in and temperature check, etc. During normal times their offices are already spotless so it is hard to improve on spectacular, but they have!! read more

I cannot get over how incredible this dentist office is. From the front desk staff, the assistants, Dr Do and the hygienist: they all are so friendly and make you feel so comfortable and welcome. I have never enjoyed going to the dentist until I started coming here. Dr Do has amazing bedside manner and will come out and speak with her clients in the lobby and just catch up. Everyone remembers you and goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable. They do not scare you into spending $$$ on your teeth and are incredibly honest. I will refer everyone I know here. Thank you all!! read more

Came for a consultation. Dr Rolfes was terrific - took extra time to explain everything and answer all my questions. Sunni (?) was awesome too - very gentle taking x-rays - she'll be a great dentist with her compassion. And Shawna is top notch in the front office - very friendly, but definitely knows her stuff! read more

Dr Rolfes and staff are wonderful. They always start on time and provide great customer service. I was referred to them at the beginning of the year for an infected tooth and a smile that was shifting. Thanks for totally getting my smile back on track!! read more

He made a quote of almost 5k so I got a second opinion and I needed none of that work!!! What a scam!!!!

As a Certified Dental Technician and the owner of a Certified Dental Lab with 44 years experience in the field I know a lot of dentist both in Orange County and in the U.S. I can choose anyone of those for my personal dentistry and I choose Smiles4OC. Dr. Rolfes is simply the best and everyone working in that office exhibits his same level of excellence...in every way. There simply is no better group of professionals in this industry. Let me start by saying that I have an extreme phobia of dentists, but the staff here knows that and navigates around it awesomely! They really go out of their way to make sure I'm comfortable (no easy task) they really know what they're doing! By now I've had Drs Rolfes, Do & Dunne work on me for various reasons. They are all so wonderful, kind, reassuring, they're the best at what they do. The entire staff is nothing short of excellency at its finest, again I say this while having the worse phobia of dentistry, so you know I really mean what I'm saying. I've never had to wait past my appointment time, not even close! Where else can you see something like that?! Amazing! I really can't recommend them enough, they're brilliant, kind, funny, attentive and simply the best! Thank you to the best team out there!!l! read more

Best dental office ever! I've worked here almost two years now, and will never leave! The type of attention and care I see this incredible team give to every patient is amazing. I myself went through Invisalign and had all my treatment done here! Dr. Dunne replaced the two crowns I had that were poorly done at my last office and Dr. Rolfes got me through a year of Invisalign to now have beautiful straight teeth! This is the place to go if you're fearful of the dentist! Dr. Do also sees all the children and is so great and calmly with them! read more

Horrible!! I am already leery of dentists but this office came highly recommended to me by multiple people. Not only did they charge $1500.00 for a procedure that most dentists charge $400.00 for, but ALL 4 TEETH (3 of my husbands and 1 of mine) have caused serious pain and have had to be redone by another dentist. Do not pay their OUTRAGEOUS FEES AND DO NOT TRUST THESE DENTISTS!!!! read more

Recently my dentist retired and I was on the look out for a new dentist. I was told from a friend to try Smiles4OC and I am so happy I did. From the initial meeting with Dr. Rolfes to my recent cleanings everything has been professional and surprisingly easy. They have state the art equipment and the staff is so friendly. I have just started Invisalign treatment and I am looking forward to a great result. I would highly recommend Smiles4OC. read more

I'm really torn about this, as I like all the dentists and the hygienist, April, is super cool, but I've had some frustrations with the administrative side of this dental office. I've put off getting my wisdom teeth pulled out for nearly a decade and they got outta control. The pain was so bad I finally dragged my swollen mouth in. The first thing Dr. Rolfes said to me was, "Now what's a nice, cute girl like you doing running around with an infected, pus-y tooth?" That totally cracked me up and kept me from freaking out in the chair. He took it out immediately, no pain and very little to no discomfort. I was sold. He's extremely capable and I trust his skills completely and that's coming from a huge dentist-phobe. After the wisdom teeth debacle, I got a consultation and discovered that I needed close to $8,000 worth of dental work, yikes. All four wisdom teeth extractions, three porcelain crowns, etc. I was stunned. With insurance, my out-of-pocket costs came close to $4,000 and that really worried me and I sat down with the dental office staff to go over my payment options, so I assumed they realized that I wasn't some rich kid who could blow thousands, no biggie. Luckily, I was able to finance most of it through work. So when I went into the dentist a few weeks ago to get two fillings, I was surprised when the office receptionist handed me a bill for $300. Apparently I had used up all my available insurance for the year, something they conveniently forgot to tell me prior to making the appointment. They had also scheduled me for oral surgery, knowing that I would have to pay out of pocket for it, another $1,200! I was told, "Oh, we gave you the cost list way back when, we thought you knew." Yeah, I got this list of figures and dental jargon I didn't really understand back in November, more than 6 months ago, how am I supposed to remember all that? I've already spent in excess of $3,000 out of my own pocket the last 6 months and you try to tack on another $1,200? I was miffed because I felt they were just trying to milk me when the whole time they could have totally put off the oral surgery (for my two other wisdom teeth) until my insurance kicks back in in six months! And when I bluntly said that I couldnt' afford it, the attitude was like, "Oh, you can't?" Also, after my two extractions with Dr. Rolfes, I was transferred to a different dentist (who is also great, but it felt like an abrupt switcharoo) and I haven't seen Dr. Rolfes since. Two times out of three whenever I have an appointment, I would get a call from the dental office asking me to switch the times around, kind of a drag. And the times I've had to reschedule or was too tired from working late the night before, they weren't very accommodating, instead wheedling me to come in anyway. I'm looking for another dentist with a staff who's a bit more caring and understanding of their patient's cost-conscious needs. read more

LOVE the vibe in this place. From a nervous nellie who does not like someone working on your teeth this place will make you feel at home. My family has been coming here for many years on the advice of a previous Doctor who retired and we couldn't be happier. My husband has had extensive work done over the years and his teeth couldn't be better taken care of and my son has been coming since he was little. We have seen all the dentists in the office but I mostly go to Dr. Rolfus who's calm demeanor is what I need to get through my appointment because I have such anxiety when it comes to dental work. He is professional, calming and very efficient in what he does along with his attentive assistants and staff. Karen has been cleaning my teeth for years and does an excellent job and Vicky and Paige up front are always great to see and very helpful with any insurance/payment or appointments you may need. Soon our insurance will be ending which concerns me but we have had very good care over the years and have kept up with our cleanings and any work that needed to be done so I am hoping that with continued preventative care whatever comes up will be doable. Any dentistry is expensive and you want to have it done right. This is the place to go. read more

Dr. Rolfes and his staff are fantastic. I was referred to them from a friend and it's been the best dental decision I've made. They keep me consistently well-informed and make me feel comfortable; even through my unnerving dental procedures. You can't go wrong going to their offices. read more

The entire team at this office is "amazing",not only are they "amazing" humans, but they are all "amazing" at what they do. A breath of fresh air!! I had a dental emergency while my dentist was out of town. A friend of my recommended Dr. Rolfes to me, who ironically was also out of town! The office staff was so kind and told me to come right in. I had a very positive experience from the moment I arrived. I was quickly taken back to meet Dr. Do and her assistant. This entire office made an extremely uncomfortable experience a pleasant one!! Not only would I HIGHLY recommend their office, I am switching!! They can even see my children. I can not say enough good things about Dr. Do and her office!! read more

Got recommended by a high school friend of mine and went in for a new patient exam and cleaning. Staff was incredibly friendly and my hygienist Lisa did a great job getting out over a year's worth of coffee stains. Unfortunately I will be moving up to San Francisco soon but Dr. Do was happy to give me referral to other dentists in the SF area. Who knows... I might just have to fly down in 6 months to get my next cleaning in OC! P.S. their heated neck pillows are pretty great! read more

Dr. Rolfes always takes great care of my teeth. My cleanings go very smoothly, I have extremely sensitive teeth and I love that is requested, the hygienist will add an extra numbing cream on my teeth to make sure I am comfortable during the cleaning. They really dig in there to make sure your smile is perfectly clean so I appreciate the extra comfort. Dr. Rolfes has always been a very honest dentist and recommends the best treatment to keep my teeth healthy. After having many bad experiences, including bad fillings, at other dental offices I fully trust his knowledge and skills. For many years, he has kept my smile bright white and healthy. You will not be disappointed! read more

I had an excellent experience with this office and Dr Rolfes. He was referred to me by a friend and the recommendation was spot on. From the Exceedingly professional demeanor of the staff...welcoming me to the office, making eye contact and shaking my hand, to the thoughtful and thorough examination by Dr Rolfes, I couldn't be more impressed. He expressed concern for me walking around with a badly broken tooth, MADE room in his schedule that afternoon, and helped to outline an extensive treatment plan to fix my issues. Vicky, the office manager, also went well above expectations; calling my insurance and Care credit accounts to give me as much detail as possible for planning with Dr. Rolfes' treatment plan. I am very very impressed with this provider and would gladly recommend them to family and friends. read more

Have been going to this office since I was a child - I always see Dr. Rolfes! They've helped me with all sorts of teeth issues throughout the years. Recently I went in for some bonding to lengthen one tooth that was significantly shorter than the other, and to smooth out my jagged canine teeth. i always thought my smile used to look a bit juvenile because it wasn't smooth, but now it's all fixed and I'm ready to take on my senior year at college! Thanks Dr. Rolfes! read more

Here's a novel on my awesome Smiles4OC experience...:-) I have been to several dental offices in the past and have had many terrible experiences when it comes to my dental care. After following Susie's recommendation to make an appointment, I'm happy to say I think I've finally found what I've been looking for in a dental office! Every interaction during my visit was not only positive, but reassuring, which truly helped me overcome my fears and follow through with my check-up and cleaning. Dr. Dunne and Nicole were most thorough with my exam, explaining each step and giving individual focused care, Karen took her time to get my smile pretty and white again with my cleaning, and both Vicky and Gail provided excellent support and professionalism from the time I came in to the end of my visit. In summary, my visit to Smiles4OC surpassed expectations. For once, I'm not only not afraid to go to the dentist, but actually welcome the thought of visiting again in 6 months! Thank you, Smiles4OC! read more

It is really hard to find a dentist that cares. I am so happy to have found Dr. Tim Rolfes after my long time dentist retired. Dr. Rolfes was a very straightforward professional who told me just what I needed, not what he thought would get him more business from me. I really appreciate that for him, he really puts his patients first. My first meeting with him, he sat me down for over 30 minutes and explained all the things he saw when he examined me. I could tell he really takes his time and does not rush with every patient he has. It is about providing dental care, and not making money. Do yourself a favor and go make an appointment to see him. You won't be disappointed . read more

I mean who likes going to the dentist anyways? Not me! At least you know you are in good hands and they'll take good care of your teeth. Dr Do takes time to tell you what she is doing next during your visits. I like that. The staff are all super nice. Free lip balm too read more

Dr. Rolfes has been taking care of me and my family for several years now. He is probably the 5th dentist I have used over the decades and is by far the best. His office has all the latest technology, he is super-current with the new techniques, and his team is the happiest and most accommodating front-office group I have ever dealt with. No oral health problem we have ever brought him has been too large or too small for his assistance, and he has squeezed us in same or next day whenever we had an emergency. Dr. Tim Rolfes is the newest addition to this dental team, and yesterday I went in on an emergency for a toothache I had had all weekend. Dr. Tim zeroed right in on the source of the problem ( I was not able to pinpoint the exact tooth) and explained I would need a root canal. There wasn't an opening until the next day, so he offered to begin the procedure to get me out of pain. I was terrified, but he did an excellent job of keeping me completely comfortable and worked efficiently and carefully to complete the procedure. He gave me very specific post operative instructions, and a prescription. When the anesthetic wore off, I was amazed to discover the pain was gone! Dr. Dunne will be completing the root canal today, but many thanks to Dr. Tim Rolfes and his assistant Ele for their competent, gentle care, and my pain free good night's sleep! read more

If you are looking for a knowledgeable, friendly and caring staff, on top of state-of-the-art equipment, this is the dental office for you. I have been going to Dr. Rolfes for five years now, and I couldn't be happier. The atmosphere is like Cheers - everybody knows your name! You don't need to sign in when you arrive, as the entire staff makes it a point to know you. Dr. Rolfes has the steadiest hands I have ever seen. When he has to give me a shot, I do not even feel the needle. What I really like about Dr. Rolfes, though, is that he stays current on all of the new trends, issues and discoveries in the dentistry world. I also enjoy that he is concerned with my long-term overall dental health, and gives me advice on how to keep my teeth and gums as healthy as possible. The real test Dr. Rolfes passed with flying colors....my then 8-year-old son was scared to death of the dentist. We had taken him to multiple pediatric dentists. One dentist had three assistants hold him down in the chair, while another dentist had to schedule an anesthesiologist before she would work on him. Trying everything I could, I thought, "What have I got to lose?" and took him to Dr. Rolfes. The bedside manner shown by Dr. Rolfes in that first visit is something I will never forget. He spoke calmly and soothingly to my son, and talked to him for a good ten minutes before any dental work was even started. I could see my child start to visibly relax and start to calm down. The dental work was performed with not even one scream from my son, which was something I never thought I would see. That, in itself, made me a life-long patient. read more

Jaw dropping! I have just about given up hope to find a cure for my tinnitus. My "ringing" just came up in conversation while at Dr. Dunne's office. After a brief discussion about possible connections of tinnitus, jawbones, muscles and clenching, a Night-guard was recommended and quickly fitted. That is about 6 weeks ago, and my tinnitus is just about 95% gone. I am thrilled and very happy, as I would not have believed a result like that is possible, especially not so quickly. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Wow! Matt read more

I have been under the care of Dr. Tom Rolfes for over 15 years and it's still a pleasure to go the office and visit with his team of professionals. Paige, at the front desk will greet you warmly and Vicky and Susie are usually nearby to answer any questions you may have about treatment. I have been coming to them for all my dental services for years. They've consistently been organized, thorough, and caring. All the dental hygienists are wonderful but today I had Michelle; she was so warm and friendly. Their surgeons and dentists are all amazing as well. I saw Dr Rolfes today and he always has such a positive and compassionate vibe. Never makes you feel guilty and always praises you for taking care of your teeth, even if they're far from perfect (like mine). When I was 18 and had my wisdom teeth pulled the whole office and my surgeon (I can't remember his name) were extremely gracious and supportive, even though my nerves made me a bit of a brat. Dr. Do and every person I come in contact with at this office is amazing! This is a very kid-friendly office. I was very concerned how my 2 year old son (now 3 years old) was going to take going to the dentist. Dr. Do and her staff are all super friendly and great with kids. On my son's first visit, their focus was just to get him comfortable with being in the chair and the equipment. They let him ride in the chair up and down, pick out his animal toothbrush, flavored toothpaste, and of course pick out of the treasure box. Now my son on his 3rd visit could not wait to go see Dr. Do. He said ,"Please can we go see Dr. Do." They have gotten my rambunctious 3 year old to get x-rays and a full on teeth cleaning. I am really impressed with what they have been able to get son to do. I really believe everyone one in the office goes above and beyond to make our visits a wonderful experience. Definitely 5 stars! read more

Believe it or not, I've been going to this dental office since the summer of 1978, before Dr. Rolfes bought out another dentist's practice! I'm definitely one of the old timers and would not have continued had I not received excellent dental care over the years. I've kidded Dr. Rolfes that I've helped put his sons through college! I've also recommended him and his staff to friends and colleagues. This dental office is a great place for dental care with a fine staff of caring professionals. Marcia H. read more

I went to see the dentists in this office first for my granddaughters a year ago. The office staff was kind and answered all of our questions without hesitation. Dr. Do did an amazing job of not only taking care of their teeth, but giving them their first positive experience at the dentist office. I then needed a root canal :-(( Dr. Dunne had to deal with my anxiety and get the work done - which he certainly did!! Everyone in the office is friendly and remembers your name. I have decided to continue with this office of professionals since I've been treated with such caring and concern. I have visited many dentists over the years, a result of moving so often. Dr. Rolfes and his team are by far, the best dental practice I have been to ever! Why? 1) Professional and knowledgable: Dr. Rolfes and his team are friendly, well-versed in the dental world and always have practical suggestions that are easy-to-implement, whether it is choosing the right toothpaste for you, showing you floss that is easy to use with permanent retainers or giving you chapstick because your lips are dry! The small details matter and in this they greatly exceed all expectations. 2) Focus on long-term health: Some recommendations may seem hard to choke down at first due to initial cost. However, you can trust that Dr. Rolfes and his team have your best interest in mind. For example, they suggested time and time again that I get a mouthguard to wear at night to preserve my bite (I am a clencher). After having excruciating jaw pain for 2 weeks as a result of all that clenching changing my bite drastically, I decided to take the plunge. The price tag was well worth it as I am now pain-free and will not have long-term jaw problems since I am resolving the issue now. Plus, the cost of the mouthguard is almost certainly cheaper than the repair work I would have had to do 5-10 years in the future, had I not purchased a mouthguard. While dental work can be very costly, Dr. Rolfes and his team never recommend something that is unnecessary and even then, they do not push you to do it until you are ready. 3) Customized dental care: I am amazed at the personal attention and custom care that Dr. Rolfes and his team deliver appointment after appointment. For example, I am very bad with needles and tend to pass out, even for the finger poke. So novocaine to the mouth prior to oral surgery tends to complicate things for me instead of relieve them. Dr. Rolfes used a different machine to numb my mouth (no needles) and then burned away part of my gum tissue. The procedure was still almost pain-free and was faint-free! Most doctors do not take my needle phobia (if you want to call it that) seriously, and I appreciated that Dr. Rolfes did. Another example has to do with my sister, who also sees Dr. Rolfes. She is chronically ill and has a severe pain disease that presents all sorts of complications when it comes to dental work. Time and time again, Dr. Rolfes caters to her needs and customizes her dental appointments. Most of the time, this means putting her under, which he is able to do (not all dentists are). I know my sister would not trust anyone else with her dental work. I would highly recommend Dr. Rolfes and his team to everyone (I already give their name out to friends and family!). You won't be disappointed. read more
