They had three wait staff working that I could see. Kitchen was very slow, all tables had long wait times for orders. Took forever to get my first beer as it appeared to be only one person who could draw beer from the taps as the rest of the crew were likely underage. The bar was completely empty so it wasn't a busy problem. Our young waitress was great, she was hustling her tables to keep up and doing a good job but got no support from a very slow kitchen and no bartender service. Gave her a good tip. I should've paid attention to some recent reviews. Also pulling in the parking lot and seeing so few cars should've been a sign. Our waiter was friendly and did okay. The food was not very good. The food runners brought the food out in three different trips. It to 8 minutes from the first two plate to the final plate they brought out. My pulled pork had no smoke taste, my wife's turkey was bland, her "fire roasted" corn tasted like regular corn, baked beans were from a can with a little bbq sauce added. My son-in-law ordered the braised pork shank and commented how bad it was. He is an avid meat smoker and was looking forward to eating at SB. My daughter ordered brisket poutine and said it was okay, but wasn't interested in taking home the leftovers. My son had the grilled cheese brisket sandwich and said it was good. The place was not very clean. The floor was sticky, straw wrappers on the floor and a few tables had dirty dishes sitting on them for whole time we were there. The people at the table next to us pointed out a pile of napkins hidden in the table tent- the table tent was advertising the summer drink special- it's January now. This was my first visit to an indoor restaurant since COVID. My medically fragile parent was with me-- we went at an off-rush hour. There was a sign "cautioning" that masks were required (and we had ours) but the hostess had hers around her chin. They seated us within 6 feet of two other parties even though the place was empty (4 parties total) and lots of empty tables. Hostess served our food WITHOUT A MASK. Server did, however, wear hers. No idea why this was so inconsistent. Food was ok -- I enjoyed mine and my companion said it was dry and not very good. This was in July 2022. I haven't been here in a long time & I will not be returning. Me & my family went out for me & my sister in laws birthday. It was 15 of us. I did call a couple hours before to give them a notice but they don't take reservations or call aheads. So we came in 15 minutes early & got our table. The host seemed very annoyed with us. I get it, big parties can be a lot but you're not supposed to be visibly annoyed in front of guests. We sat with most of our party here. The server can over, I cannot remember her name, it was like karissa or crysella. She greeted us & got our drinks. She brought the drinks, took our appetizer order. Someone else brought the fries out & then she disappeared for like 15 minutes. The rest of our party showed up & she finally came over 10 minutes after they were sitting & asked if they wanted drinks. When she brought their drinks I had to catch her before she walked away so I could order my kids food. She didn't even ask if we were all ready. The kids food came out & she still didn't ask if we were ready to order. She finally came over to take our order an hour after we'd been sat. Her excuse? she thought we were waiting for someone still? Anyways, she finally puts our order in & does not come back until the food was brought out almost 40 minutes later. My nephew was crying because he wanted water that she never brought out the whole time after we asked twice for it. Someone brought out 5 entries, she took better care of us than the server. Asked if we needed anything. About 5-10 minutes goes by & the rest of the food comes out. Now again, I work in a kitchen & no way in hell would I let food go out 5-10 minutes before the rest of the food unless it was kid meals. My fiancés Mac & cheese was cold so the other lady who was helping with food took it. We didn't get her name, she has blue in the back of her hair. She was helpful. The food was really good. The chicken was BOGO which was awesome. No complaints on my food. We finish eating & sit for about 10 minutes until we notice our server sitting at a table talking. We were so beyond ready to leave. My mother in law talked to the manager. He took like $15 off our check but never said anything to us. It looked like someone said something to her & she finally stopped socializing but still took minutes to come up to us. She asked how we were doing checks & then walked away before we were done explains that it was 4 checks. So when she came back, we explained how we needed 4 checks, not 3. She kind of had an attitude after we talked to the manager. We waited again for her to come back. Keep in mind, it was not busy. She had no more than 2 tables plus us that whole night. I could see her tables from before we got there that we still dirty when we left. We were there for 2 & a half hours because of this server. This was crazy. The manager did nothing to make us feel better so we will not be returning. This was the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. The two stars are for the food. The food was good but I will still not be coming back because the manager couldn't care less if his guests are happy. read more

My first time going was a great experience. The Garlic Parmesan wings were absolutely amazing. The perfect about of Crunch and tenderness from the meat created the perfect wing. The fried pickles had to be my favorite dish. I could've eaten about 5 plates of those by myself lol However, the loaded fries were a bit disappointing. They were all stuck together, & were rubbery. I'm writing this review based on my first time visit here. We moved here from Texas and have missed really good barbecue, so we decided to give this place a try. I have no regrets at all and look forward to future visits. Let's begin with the starter, skillet cornbread with honey pecan butter. First let me say that I am not that big of a fan of cornbread. It is usually too dry and crumbly for me, but this one is sheer perfection. I ordered it based on a recommendation and will order it every time now. The cornbread was moist, fluffy, and hot. The butter was as good as butter gets. Next came our drinks. My fresh strawberry lemonade was delicious with slices of strawberry and lemon included. Can't ask for more. Now on to the sides. I chose the cole slaw and cinnamon apples. Winner winner. The cole slaw was creamy and full of tangy flavor, just the way I like it. The apples were tender, flavorful, and quite satisfying. The only very slight disappointment was with the garlic bread. it simply didn't have enough garlicky buttery taste for me, but that's more of a personal preference than a criticism. Now on to the star of the show... the meats. I ordered two choices, the baby back ribs and Texas brisket. The ribs were again, sheer perfection. They were literally falling off the bone tender and meaty and the sauce was delicious and generous. The brisket was tender and well cooked, however it was a little too lean for my tastes. I prefer a little fat with my brisket, which is where a lot of the flavor comes from. Again, this is more of a personal preference than a criticism. I can't complain about the quality of the meat. Overall, I am happy to recommend this location. Prices are in line for barbecue and the food is worth it. One last note, although I didn't get her name, our server was terrific, very genial and accommodating. Definitely earned her tip. read more

Driving with my 2 children and staying overnight nearby; wrongfully thought that a take out order would be quick and easy. I'm currently at 1:30am waiting for the hotel staff to get me new bedsheets and towels from cleaning up vomit from my 9 year old drinking the sour milk they gave me. Was going to let it go that they charged me for but didn't provide any sides for the meals- mine or the kids- but after comforting a sick boy at 1:30am, trying to figure out how he got so suddenly sick, and smelling his half drunk cup of milk, I'm not so forgiving. Just see if you can find some fresh roadkill, it's better than trusting your health to these hacks who could f up a ___ dream, you can fill the blanks yourself. This is the 22 oz tall beer. $5.25 when coors isn't on the big beer special day. $4.00 when it is. Server is very friendly and polite. But she is also the bartender so getting over to the table, she is not very quick about. Sat for ten minutes before our order was taken, then sat for 22 minutes before our ribs came out. I will say, service sucks. W arrive at 8:30 on a Thursday night. There were only 8 other customers in the restaurant and 6 of them were seated at the bar so it was very slow. No excuse for making us wait so long. My not so appetizer came out cold. Not even lukewarm. Cold like it was in a refrigerator. My wife ordered the St. Louis ribs, they came out hot and very tasty. If I could give a specific rating, it would be more like 3.7 then 4 stars. Food was actually surprisingly pretty decent, which says a lot to me. Just a few deductions on smoked wings being slightly salty in my opinion. Also, when went to grab one of utensils seen old food on them, which means went through dish washer but did not clean it good, happens at my home with our dish washer, however, like at home, should have been inspected before setting out for use. Other than the saltiness and utensil, can't really complain. Liked it better than a few other places I have visited in the past and definitely see myself visiting again in the future. read more

We started coming to Smokey Bones 15 yrs ago. The ribs were awesome. We visited as we could, then they were sold and, as usual, from then on it was DOWNHILL. In the past, if you didn't arrive early, you would have to wait. The restaurant was half full from 5:00 - 6:00 when we left. The wait staff are fine, but, less than a yr ago we visited and a full rack of ribs was about $24. No way I am paying that. On 12/17/2022 a full rack was $35. I wanted ribs, we went there for the ribs, no WAY I was paying that. And nobody else in the restaurant near us had ribs either. Also, we visited twice in the last yr and both times they had new menus - for the price increases. My wife had a salad with chicken, I had the mushroom burger with fries and we had an order of pretzel sticks. Diet Coke for both. Our bill? With tip, it was $70. Even though it was Friday and not busy (only a few tables in the whole restaurant were occupied), it took awhile for the waitress to take our drink order. We both ordered BBQ but when we received our meal, we neither received any additional napkins (we had to ask for them) or wet naps. I would think it would be a no-brainer to deliver napkins and wet naps to a table ordering BBQ. Waitress must not have been well-trained or it was her first day on the job. Their floor also had some kind of finish that made your shoes stick to it - like you're walking on a sticky floor. We both had to go to the restroom to wash our hands. Sweet Iced tea was also sub-par. First glass was fine, but subsequent tea was not sweet (thought it was unsweet tea - no sugar/artificial sugar on the table to sweeten). We also only got one slice of garlic bread. Usually, with BBQ, you get at least two pieces, and if multiple people at the table get BBQ, garlic bread should come in a basket with multiple pieces. It is a chain restaurant, so I didn't have many expectations nor should anyone else. The lemonade was good but that may due to the fact I was parched and could've drunk the evening away. I did a create your own combo of Texas-Style Beef Brisket and Smoked St. Louis Ribs with Fresh Steamed Broccoli and the Baked Beans. Now to the food. The brisket was stringy and fatty thus making a major disappointment. If given a rating, it would be 1/5. Let me forget that misery and go to the ribs. I understand where I am eating so expectations were set to minimum. For the type of place, the ribs were actually good but quite dry. The 3 types of BBQ sauces on the table were not very good, so I avoided placing those on my dry ribs. The broccoli wasn't bad and the baked beans were good but very sweet. If you have a sweet tooth, you would enjoy them, and I really didn't mind it. I did get a piece of the garlic bread which reminded me of the garlic bread you find in the freezer aisle of a grocery store. The service we received was nice but they were quite busy. I wouldn't go out of my way to go to this place, but if I want BBQ and there isn't any around, I could find myself coming here. If I am really in the mood for BBQ, I'll make it myself. read more

She walked past our table several times to wait on the next table not once did she check on us. Almost an hour passed & we still have not received our orders. Table after table, people were getting their food. Even those that came after us. She never looked at us, until I made eye contact with her. When I told her we were leaving, she said the food is ready & she could box them up but she never apologized for the delay. I understand that it was a busy night & there maybe mix up in the kitchen, but she walked by our table several times and knew we didn't get our food yet! 1 star to the manager for giving us our food for free (I paid for the drinks though) and it was actually decent. Food: The food has never let me down, its always good. I like the variet of BBQ sauces that they offer and if you're into burgers the create-your-own burger is great. The list of ingredients are great with lots of different variety of toppings,buns,patties, & cheeses. Ive been here 3 or 4 times now..maybe more and EACH time that I was here I got seated right away but always wait FOREVER for the food to come out & when it finally comes out the order is screwed. We visit Smokey bones often enough for us to sign up for the bones club rewards card. Our go to is the pulled pork nachos. The food was ok tonight, not the best we have every had from Smokey bones, but not bad either. The reason for the 2 stars was the customer service. We walked in to the restaurant and there was a person standing person standing at the to go counter and another person standing at the dine in podium. We walked in and walked up to the to go podium. Both people stood there and starred at us, finally the girl at the dine in podium make eye contact. I told her we were there to pick up a to go. She said ok and then proceeded to stare at me. I turned away and attempted to speak to the person who was standing directly in front of me at the to go podium. The girl from the dine in podium, shook her head and stated well what is the name. She moved her hand and nodded slowly like I had a delay that she had to help me with. Instead of that she should have greeted me from the moment I walked in to the restaurant and asked how she could help me, but that never happened. I told her my name and she then told the person on the to go podium my name and what we ordered. Things eventually got sorted and the to go person brought out our to go food. Ordered take out from here tonight - it was truly the worst meal I have ever eaten. I never leave bad reviews, because any place can have an off night, but I honestly felt insulted by the quality of food I was served (and paid good money for!). Unfortunately since it's take out only we didn't know about any of the issues with the food until after we had left. 1. Skillet cornbread - very overbaked (the bottom was black) and dry. The honey pecan butter was missing from our order. Everything but the very center of it was inedible. 2. Fried pickles - these were so disgusting - so hard and crunchy my husband laughed at me as I bit into the first one because of the sound it made. Tasted awful - like the frying oil hadn't been changed in months. We threw these out after each eating one. Ranch dipping sauce was missing from our order. 3. Loaded nachos - these were laughable. Maybe if I wasn't starving I would have laughed. Instead I just wanted to cry. Burnt tortilla chips with cold shredded cheese and a few tomatoes and pickled jalapeños on top. No salsa. No sour cream. Stone cold. Dry as hell. Inedible. 4. Entree was baby back ribs which were actually warm and tasted fine. Fries were cold. Cinnamon apples were warm and tasted good. At least something was semi-edible. Right now restaurants are all struggling to stay open. Instead of keeping our business during this trying time, this place has probably lost ours forever.
