This past week we had people visiting from out of town for a very special occasion when my nephew's daughter was graduating from Basic Military Training at Lackland Air Force Base. I decided to have barbecue so ordered from Smokey Mo's in Spring Branch. I ordered the brisket (extra lean), turkey, and sausage about two weeks ago to be picked up on the day of the family get-together. The meat was so delicious, exactly like I ordered, and it came with 2 loaves of bread, beans, pickles, onions, jalapeños, and a whole bottle of barbecue sauce. Love the BBQ here! My go-to is definitely the turkey, but all the other meat options are great! I also love to get the baked potato with brisket because it's filling, inexpensive and you get your BBQ fix! The drive-thru is usually pretty quick and the employees are always friendly. We stopped by after a long day at the lake for a quick meal. I liked all the meat I tried, however there wasn't many choices for my vegetarian sister (duh) or my dad who had a lot of food allergies. The food here is average BBQ but being the only BBQ place in Spring Branch it is ok. Just be careful if you curbside order, because they have sent me home a couple times with wrong items or missing items. If ordering a large amount it is near impossible to check the contents while inside your vehicle. But driving back to get the correct items once home can be a long drive in this area. read more

Average brisket, but not consistent from visit to visit. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's rubbery, sometimes it's dry. Very often our to-go orders are missing items. When I go back to get my missing items, they never apologize. Potato salad is always good. Why do I come back? There's no other BBQ close by. read more

Went to get brisket sandwiches the meat was dry and salty. The bread was burnt instead of toasted made the difference in the taste overall. The creamed corn was watery The onions weren't crispy and fresh were marinated with the pickle juice. Limp and tasteless. The sandwich was basically cool. All the prices were more than what was on menu board outside. Will not go back. Very disappointed. Will drive to B Millers. s at least it'll be worth the drive. read more

Ate here this past week with my husband. Staff very friendly. Great portions. Was impressed with the portions. We ordered a brisket plate with two sides: Creamed corn and potato salad. Creamed corn was not as good at Rudys but, the potato salad was really good. Will definitely go back and try other things on their menu. read more

Typically visit via the drive-thru and take home. Have eaten inside a couple times. Always had a great experience. Food is delicious - especially like the jalapeno sausage! Excellent BBQ! Everything was good - sliced beef, pork, sausage, rubs and turkey - lots of mesquite flavor. All our sides were tasty too - potato salad, slaw, corn, and green beans. They also have sliced pickles and onions, bread, and slightly sweet BBQ sauce to go with the meals. Smokey's is a pretty little restaurant with lots of seating - located just to the east side of Hwy 281 on FM 46. This time we did pick up and just drove up to the window in our car. Very handy when we are in a rush to get home. :-) read more

Sign says must wear mask. Two of three employees including manager not wearing masks. They wear rubber gloves, prepare food and handle money with gloves. Handed them my credit card and had to wipe the grease off it when he gave it back. Not sanitary at all. Not risking it here again for sure. read more

Extremely Disappointed! We recently moved to Bulverde and was eager to try Smokey Mo's so we did. Ordered brisket plates with chicken and sausage. Well the brisket was soooo dry and some slices were not edible. Chicken was rubbery and sausage was average ( nothing special) along with the sides. The staff never checked to see how our meal was or acknowledged us in any way. We now understand why there were very few customers for lunch on a Sunday. Needless to say we won't go back. read more

The BBQ sauce has a slight after kick to it. Okay, screw that, my mouth is on fire. It tastes like BURNING. Their sides, well, hmmm, no baked beans, only pinto. Their potato salad is mayoeee and tastes like store bought. The meats are okay, but not so much so that I'd go too far out of my way. The prices are decent. Fed 5 people, everyone had regular beverages and 1 beer for about $70. Staff is friendly, but it's not like you interact with them after ordering so that isn't really a huge selling point. read more

I'm sorry but Smokey Mo's has been fallen apart since it first opened. About few months ago we walked in and waited at the counter and me and my father waited for a few minutes and there was a man and women right in front of us typing on the register and didn't take our order until someone else stepped in. We never came back until now when both soda machines were both broken both inside and drive thru and the lady didn't even let me and my father know I am extremely disappointed in the service of the Texas 46 Smokey Mo's BBQ and give this review 1 star with extreme dissatisfaction. read more

Shockingly very good BBQ! Most BBQ joints have dry fatty brisket. Smoked MO's brisket is moist and fairly lean. And the smoked turkey is wonderful too! Also had the banana pudding that is scrumptious! read more

Over 2 years since my first review, and the brisket remains schizophrenic - good one day, bad the next. Don't understand why they can't follow the same procedure for cooking the brisket day in and day out. It's a shame because someone there knows how to do it right.
