We came in for lunch with no expectations, as all we had to go on was from us driving past a few times. I'm so glad we decided to give it a shot. I had the veggie, which admittedly needed a little salt or sauce just to kick it up a bit, but it was very good. The Cajun chicken, however, was freaking awesome and probably one of the best things I've tried on the island. The fries were also awesome and my boyfriend and I had a long in depth conversation about how amazing they are. Very crispy and thin, perfect amount of salt, just honestly great fries. We ordered from the kids menu (which they loved) and the brisket burger, along with the pulled pork sandwich. The aioli sauce on both is AMAZING! Best Cuban I've had, and the Cuban tends to be my go to, so I've had my share of lousy Cubans. The place is super casual, menu written on black board on wall, and you place order with cashier. The decor is sharp. Not what you might expect from a BBQ joint. I was surprised they don't serve ribs, everything is served sandwich style. Fries are amazing. Try the vanilla soft serve with olive oil and black sea salt. I have no idea why this combo is not a thing everywhere you go. Try it, you'll like it. read more

This is really good BBQ despite their modern flare. Most modern places spend their time on the funkiness and forget about the food, Smoqehouse does not. We've had their pulled pork, brisket, and Islander sandwiches. All three are excellent and quite a value compared to other island restaurant prices. read more

We found this bbq place right along the beach and were surprised to find that they had a vegetarian option since my wife is a vegetarian. The food was awesome the fries are delicious! They're a must! Delicious. No joke. Solid atmosphere and great food. If you're gluten free then you are in luck! Everything is GF except buns and gravy. Owner was incredibly friendly and easy to talk to. The environment was so fun and very clean. The coleslaw was the best I've ever had and the loaded chips have endless flavor. I ordered the Cuban and my wife had the islander. Both were very good. Nice little place. Very clean and crisp inside. Decor looked very good. It's a mixture of a trendy sandwich shop and a bbq joint. Being from NC I don't order pulled pork anywhere else in the world as nothing is as good as what we can smoke ourselves. Pretty good overall. And to too it all off, they have this odd combination of soft serve ice cream, olive oil or balsamic vinegar and sea salt- fabulous! Popped in on a rainy day for a quick bite with my wife and two small children. Awesome spot. Solid ambiance, good music, the people couldn't have been nicer and the food was OUTSTANDING. Cuban sandwich and French Fries with their special sauce for me. The islander for my wife. Burger and bbq chicken sandwich for the kids Bread pudding with house made ice cream for dessert. Way exceeded expectations. Went in expecting the typical touristy beach spot with average food and slightly above average pricing, but this was extremely high quality and an excellent value. Far and away the best food in AMI area. Family tried five different sandwiches on the menu and all of them were nothing short of FANTASTIC. Their sides, especially the fries, are great also. freaked out when I realized this place occupied the spot a really good Indian place used to be. Tried it and , yeah...not missing the Indian place anymore. had a brisket burger and poutine. I am going to go on record saying how dare they make poutine in the Bradenton area when I have to limit my carbs?? This is so deliciously wrong. burger and sauce was great, I even ate the bun, which I can say I haven't done in over a year. My dining partner had the pulled pork and regular fries, he loved the sandwich and the fries were plentiful and good, but damn if he didnt keep drifting into MY poutine!. If I didn't like him so much I would have stabbed his hand with my fork... Yum! If we would've eaten here earlier in our stay, we would've been visiting again. I ordered the special the "mexicuban". Perfectly spicy. My husband got the double brisket burger. It ended up being more like a burger with brisket/brisket flavor. It was delicious. We shared a regular fry and those were awesome too. The frozen sangria was ok. This was the BEST meal and the cheapest meal I had while on the island. Although it is a small place with only a few table, our party of 6 was easily accommodated by moving a table over. They have a wide variety of sandwiches that all sounded delicious. I decided on the Cubano, and it was the BEST sandwich I've ever eaten in my entire life. Stopped in for our second visit, brought our exchange student from Finland's family with us this visit. Was our last night on the Island and everyone loved the stop. The Korean BBQ sandwich is fantastic. The Cuban was a favorite with the Finnish crowd and the Rosemary Chicken was my parents choice. The table in the middle seated our party of 10 perfectly!!
