Very fun place. They had a blues band starting in the bar area when we got there. We opted to eat on the quieter diner side. It's such a cool interior, both sides. I love it! The service was fine. I ordered the caesar salad, wouldn't order again. A bit too dry and boring for my taste. I prefer a romaine caesar. I don't usually love kale salad unless it's really special, so not for me. I ordered a side of green beans which were delicious and my friend's burger was great. The fries are good. Came in last night for the first time, and I can't wait to come back. Ambiance is very fun. Tyler, our waitress and bartender extraordinaire, was amazing. Great recommendations and on point. The Snakebite burger was amazing. Gave me in n out vibes for more hearty. We also got "the bird" and they know how to make fried chicken. Perfectly crispy and not greasy. Being from Reno we thought it would be a cool place, and it is until you sit down and look around at the other patrons and workers. Definitely did not get the western roadhouse vibe, except for the westerns playing on the tv over the bar. The decor is pretty interesting. No country music. The smell of patchouli was overpowering. Let's just say we were probably the only conservatives in there at that time. We sat down at the bar when no one came over to the host stand. The drinks were good, the food not so great. We got the deep fried Dill pickle chips & Jalapeños and they were over cooked which was too bad. Also ordered the Western burger, which sounds delicious but that's where it ended. Came out lukewarm like everything else. It almost seemed as if they forgot the cheese and bbq sauce as it was dry. We really were looking forward to it after reading other reviews. read more

Ambiance is cool, greeting staff was nice and informative. When we were sat, Dez was prompt and took our drink orders. Started off strong but took a turn when we waited over an hour for our food. One person in out party did order the half chicken which stated a 30 minute cook time. After an hour of waiting, Dez came around and blamed us for the long wait by saying, "Who ordered the half chicken? Oh, so it's your fault the food is taking so long." If it was supposed to be a joke, it didn't land. Snakebite burger was extremely salty and pastas tasted like they were barely flavored. I'd say the best thing about the experience was the sidewinders - they were very good. When we paid, Dez separated our bill for us but did not show an itemized bill or mention the added 20% included tip that was added for a party of 6. So we actually had no clue what we were paying for. We tipped on top of the 20% since we were uninformed which almost felt intentional. Sad to leave this review - I was a server for multiple years so I understand things happen but this situation was handled very poorly by Dez. We wanted to enjoy the place because the atmosphere was really cool. However, poor service, long wait time, and sub par food really ruined the experience. This review is for the Yucca Valley location because I know the 29 palms location is a little different... The drinks were good, nothing special but not disappointed. The Western Burger was phenomenal! The overall flavor and quality and the addition of the pork belly was amazing. It came with a generous side of fries which were also amazing and uniquely cut. A real 5 star burger in my book. The fries were also 5/5 stars. Ranch was top notch. We also got a Pretty Green Salad which was great, the chicken was cooked to perfection, but the serving size was a little small for the price. Service was quick and friendly. Positives: the hostess was awesome and super helpful with our party of 4 with two dogs. Even with no one sitting on the patio, they set everything up. Also the kitchen staff was awesome. They kept checking in after I had to go get water myself (not a self-serve process). Also the fries are some of the best I've had in a long time. The negatives were essentially our server who either didn't realize we were there or just didn't want to make the trip to the patio. We didn't get water until I just got it myself and the gaps between stopping by were super long. I could understand if it was a busy night but it wasn't which is why it seemed off that our server was not able to check-in. Came to Joshua Tree for the weekend and found out about this place on social media. I came for dinner around 8 pm and it was an absolutely fabulous experience! The staff is extremely kind and helpful and the food is SOOO GOOD!! My partner and I got some burgers and they were so yummy, not to mention the fries are really good. Last time I was here they forgot to bring me mayonnaise for my fries and the fries were cold. My boyfriend and I came here for a quick bite. It was pretty empty at 6pm on a Sunday night and we were seated right away. I love the ambiance of the restaurant. It's very cute and retro and I loved the little old radio on our table and the diner aesthetic. I ordered the surf and turf and my boyfriend ordered the Western cheeseburger. The surf and turf was amazing just on the lobster mac and cheese alone. They did not skimp out on the lobster at all! The macaroni used white cheese and it had a wonderful depth of flavors. The hot dog was nice and high quality. It came on a very nicely toasted Hawaiian roll bun. I'm not the biggest hot dog fan, but I gave this a try because I love lobster mac and the concept was interesting. The western cheeseburger was also extremely delicious. My family and I came in and were not greeted for a while and the attitude of the server was not friendly at all. We received the appetizer before we even got drinks :( the server was not seen very often but I think she was busy so that was understandable. The worst part was when we need something, my mom nicely asked the bartender for ketchup and she just pointed and said "server". That was extremely rude and the bartender had one guest sitting at bar.... She was literally standing there doing nothing and was drinking her water bottle. You guys may want to add a second bartender cause she acted too busy to do a small simple task. I would like to mention we never got the ketchup, by the time the server came back which was about 10 minutes later we were already done eating, we just got boxes because we no longer wanted to be there. The flavor of the salsa was the perfect blend of spice and flavor and really brought all the veggies together. I ordered the lemonade which was cold and refreshing, perfect for a hot day! I remember ordering my first "snakebite" on my trip to the United Kingdom in my 20s. Not a fan of beer at the time, a snakebite was tolerable, made with equal parts lager and cider (or blackcurrant cordial) and sweeter, making beer go down more easily. Snakebite Roadhouse is sweet & goes down easily, primarily as a bar or place to meet up with friends. They have desert aesthetics down, with wall murals, a pool table and friendly staff. It's clean, dark, attractive space. I'm not sure if they have a full liquor menu yet, as we noticed mainly beer & wine. Unfortunately, for us its a 3 star spot as a restaurant. Our meal was disappointing. We ordered a shrimp, tortilla chips and salsa appetizer. The salsa was just okay (tasted premade, watery) and there were four large shrimp. I ordered a cod sandwich that we were told would be 'fantastic" but wasn't: an upgrade from a McDonalds filet of fish sandwich, with a packaged bun & two (previously frozen) cod fillets. The smashed patty bbq burger had a good menu description, but was described by my burger loving husband as a "premium Arby's type of burger." Premium restaurant pricing, but Snakebite didn't deliver on an upscale food experience. One exception was a delicious apple pie slice, exceptionally good, from local Boo's Organic Oven. Though the food didn't wow us (except the pie), the bar at Snakebite is worth checking out. Averaging the 3-star for food, & 4 to 5 for the bar: rounding up to 4 stars. We'd come back for drinks & a game of pool, but would skip a meal, settling instead for a slice of pie. read more
