Being that our flight into Anchorage took a little longer than expected, we arrived at Snow City Cafe later than we thought. I thought that it would be incredibly busy and we'd have to wait a while to get a seat. Thankfully they were able to seat us right away and welcomed us in with a smile. The person seating us was incredibly friendly and welcoming and it was a nice feeling to have after a slightly stressful travel getting here. Our server was also super friendly and was so on it when it came to customer service. Always coming back to check on us and making sure everything was to our liking. I decided to choose the Tundra Scramble with the Sourdough toast and it was absolutely delicious. I paired it with a Mocha with soy milk and it truly did hit the spot. If you haven't tried their coffees and teas, you are also missing out. They have incredible coffee and desserts that rival even their most delicious menu items. My fiance had the Polar Bear Breakfast that featured their French Toast. I almost felt a little jealous because it also looked amazing but my love for reindeer sausage brought me back to my own plate. The cafe's seating is open and not too close together so you never feel like you're stuffed in with other customers. Signage on the walls and windows make you feel like you're in a comfortable community space and just a welcomed part of their family. They even have a hot sauce rack where I learned they will give you a gift card if you bring in your favorite sealed hot sauce to donate to the rack. I will most certainly be bringing one in next time I come into town. As we've been here a few times now, the delicious food, friendly staff, and comfortable space keeps us coming back and will most certainly be part of our routine whenever we have time to hang out in Anchorage. Hopefully we get to go to see some of their partner businesses in the future as well. 10/10 Highly recommend food stop if you're visiting.

Needs more stars! Absolutely lovely and very well done gem of a place. Service was superb! Get there early! It gets packed and you will know why once there. You can just swing in for coffee if don't want to stay for meal. Very attentive and super kind. Ordered the country sausage Benny and an omelette with peppers that was delicious. Got a side of fruit that was very fresh. The sausage gravy and homemade biscuit in the Benny was delicious and highly recommend!! Coffee was delicious. Even grabbed a bag to go. Get the sourdough as your toast. Seriously, nothing bad here at all. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Awesome ambiance and just a chill place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Check out their pastry case and take note of the massive cinnamon rolls. Apparently they are world famous but we couldn't fit them. This place was terrific! So distracted by all the lovely things that I forgot to take pics of the actual food. Just get there!!!

So you might think this is a tourist trap - IT'S NOT! Make sure you sign up for the waitlist ahead of time and be hungry, then ENJOY! We ordered pancakes, french toast and a breakfast burrito. Everything was great. The orange and pineapple juice and the coffee were good too. Service was friendly.

Pretty busy crowd for breakfast so I recommend getting there early to grab a table. I was solo so was able to grab a seat immediately at the counter. I do love a good diner counter. The service was friendly and prompt. I ordered a black coffee and the Kodiak Benedict. It was pretty underwhelming. Not bad really, but with how much this restaurant was hyped up, I really expected a better breakfast. Hash brown was pretty soggy. I'm hoping this was a one off experience but I would come back to try something else.

Was here today for my 4th time ever and yet again, never disappointed!! The food is always so delicious, the coffee is always really good too. My server Tanner was above and beyond!! Checked in to see how I was doing, how the food was, and what ever I might need... was checking in every few minutes. Coffee never got below 1/2, water never got below 3/4... super attentive and sooooo polite. It was truly amazing considering how busy it was (and always is). There is ALWAYS a wait of an hour or so. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a cute little restaurant that is always busy... and there's a good reason for that.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So, if you have time to wait... it's worth it. I'll be back next month!

We were super excited to have brunch here, and this place did not disappoint! I'll start by saying that if you're visiting on the weekend, you'll probably have a wait, so I highly recommend making a reservation through Yelp before you arrive. We started with the Mimosa Royal. We'd never tried one before, but it was made with Opera Prima Brut, pomegranate juice, and fresh raspberries. Wow! The berries were incredibly fresh, and I had forgotten just how much I love pomegranate juice. We split a cinnamon roll, and in 37 years on this planet, it was the best one I've ever had. Phenomenal! Soft, delicious, and absolute perfection. For my meal, I ordered the classic breakfast with eggs, bacon, hash browns, and an English muffin. Everything was cooked perfectly! Our server was amazing as well, very attentive and friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We also appreciated that the seating wasn't overly cramped.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bathrooms were clean, and the cafe as a whole had a beautiful vibe with bright, colorful decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This is an absolute must for breakfast or brunch if you're in town. Highly recommended!

Ordered the Salmon Benedict and hash browns. The English Muffin was so tough I had to cut it with a knife. The server took it back and remade my order. It was delicious. The coffee is amazing. Be prepared for a long wait. 68 minutes.

They were very attentive. Food tasted great. I loved the crunchy bacon. I will say if you don't like crunchy, slightly burnt bacon. It's not for you. Eggs were great! And the strawberry jam was very tasty. The hot chocolate was absolutely delicious. They do serve your coffee and hot beverages in glass cups. I will say they did serve 12oz and above.

Not worth the wait. I am from California so I should have know better than to order a chorizo breakfast burrito in Alaska. I am not sure if there was any meat in it, and the tortilla was soggy. It tasted like one of those egg, cheese, and sausage frozen burritos where you have to search for the tiny nibbles of beef. The red and green sauce didn't save it, weird flavors that were not good. My husband's BLT was ok, the bacon and potatoes soup had two specks of bacon in it. Still, it would have been ok except for the long wait, and the fact that I was sick and nauseous all afternoon. I only ate half of the burrito and a little bit of the soup so now sure what caused it, but I noted other Yelpers had the same issue. Service was excellent though so for that will give it three stars. Next time I would visit the El Greengo food truck across the street instead.

After 11 years, I finally made it back to Snow City Cafe in Anchorage during a work layover. I had the salmon eggs Benedict with hash browns and a side of pancakes, and it was excellent. Salmon was rich and flavorful, hollandaise balanced and not overdone. Hash browns were crisp, and the pancakes were light and just a little sweet. Service was attentive without hovering, and the place had a a warm steady energy. Totally worth the wait.

Cute spot! Parking is a little wonky, but AI said that you don't have to pay for street parking on Sundays? Who knows if that's true, but we did it and didn't get towed, so yay! We got one of the special drinks, which was an Irish cream cold brew-so good! For entrees we got the Ship Mate and the Kodiak. I was trying to get some Alaskan Salmon in my body before we left (really quick in and out trip here) so this was perfect. Food was good! We ended with the pecan sticky bun and YUM!

Where do I start? The menu is very unique with plenty of food option varieties. You can order Eggs Benedict several different ways. I ordered the red crab Benedict with a blend of normal Benedict called 1/2 and 1/2. You can also select one with all the cravings your stomach desires. The food was amble in proportion with a difficult time to finish. The hash browns are made fresh (large portion). There are pancake options and the size of the pancakes are massive. We were fortunate to have a special waitress with superb customer service experience and plenty of recommendations. One must is to make a reservation (Yelp) on line before you show up to the restaurant. I signed up 15 minutes before arrival on foot and there were 21 more reservations behind mine. I was 6 in line for a table and the team turns over the tables down to a science. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This Cafe has seating options at the counter, booths and tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We only had to wait 10 minutes upon arrival before seated. There is a kiosk option once you arrive to sign in or with the hostess stand. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are one a kind art and sports memorabilia.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I plan to add this to one of most special places to eat and with the warmth and sincerity upon arrival.

Finally got to try Snow City this week. Now I know why the place is so popular. Went there for breakfast and the famous cinnamon rolls. Fantastic. I really enjoyed the pancakes, great flavor. French toast was good too. We also had a breakfast burrito that could feed a small army. Had to take a break before the cinnamon roll and a sticky bun. Wow! The hype is legit! Finally, the coffee is not to be missed. Great service to top it all off. Highly recommend this place. read more

An Anchorage classic! One of the first places I ever went to in the city. I find the flavored coffee drinks to be on the sweet side and the food to be consistently good. Tried a few things and find myself going back to the market omelette (add reindeer sausage if I'm feeling sassy ;-) ) or the Kodiak Benedict. Super cute and artsy, expect to wait for a while for a table. read more

We ordered the vegan special with "just eggs" & impossible sausage. Our waitress recommended adding jalapeño & garlic. It was excellent! We also ordered the biscuits & gravy which were also excellent. The service was very attentive and friendly (Meghan). Overall, great breakfast spot. Their food is basically spot on tasty with any order you make, so that was awesome. The eggs Benedict is delicious, and I liked the original Benedict the most. My mango smoothie was refreshing, and I like the added protein powder option. Carrot cake was awesome, and my bro loved his quesadilla. I didn't particularly vibe with the meatloaf and mac(especially visually), but that's just my preference. The inside is usually super crowded until near closing. If you're interested in coming here, book a spot pretty early in advance (like an hour or more) since everyone else is fighting for a spot too. We came in at 11:15 as a party of 6, and waited 75 minutes to get seated. Service is a kinda slow, but there is a lot of demand for the place considering it's a bit small so for me, it's a pass. They should totally expand! read more

Wow!!! If I could rate this 100/10 I would. Got the omelet with caramelized onion, spinach, garlic and added reindeer sausage. Literally the best omelet I've ever had. My husband got the breakfast burrito smothered with red sauce and it was amazing as well. We started off with a pecan sticky roll and if you don't do this you're missing out. read more

Snow City Cafe is by far my favorite breakfast place to go in town. I also love the vibes of this place and the food never disappoints. I highly recommended getting on their waitlist as early as you can on the weekends, wait times can be upwards to 2 hours because of the crowds that adore this spot. read more

My go to place for breakfast every time I'm in Anchorage. The menu is awesome because it has something for the pickiest eaters (me) as well as the usual suspects. Had the steel cut oats, just egg and vegan sausage. Loved all three. Ate way more than I should have. Had to wait 15 minutes to get a table but the service was fabulous. Definitely worth the short wait. read more

Food was so rich and yummy. Our server was really nice. The only problem was they didn't call my name correctly so I almost lost my reservation. If you use yelp to make a reservation be sure to go up even if they don't call your name correctly show your phone. Otherwise I would keep returning. Clean, fun and family atmosphere. I thought I'd give this place another chance but no change. If you are really hungry and can't wait to eat, don't go here. This place is slow as molasses. Quoted wait was 20 min- it was close to 50. Food took forever to get out. The staff is nice, the place is clean, the food is ok. Only one restroom with a huge line. I'm not sure I'd come back. read more

A great brunch place. Use the waitlist on the app to get in line. There are long lines if you just show up. The food was excellent. I had the Kodiak Benedict w OMG bacon. The first time I came here, I had a breakfast burrito before a long mountain bike ride. It was the perfect pre-ride fuel. A colleague said it was the best breakfast burrito she'd ever had! This time I had the biscuits and gravy and they were incredible. Such a cool vibe in this busy, local favorite breakfast place. My wife and I enjoy the sounds of a busy cafe, the conversations of our neighboring diners, and the smiles and friendliness of our servers at the bar. You'll likely encounter a wait if you dine in, but know that it's worth it. Enjoy some coffee, get to know the people around you, and prepare to have an amazing breakfast! read more

Poor service. Overhyped, overcrowded, and it was poor tasting. For starters, I was given a dirty knife... covered in egg yolk. My napkin was taken from my table and I wasn't given another napkin and wasn't given another knife until I bugged someone for it. :/ I paid $27 for the Kodiak Benedict, it was very fishy and the flavors didn't mesh well together. It made my stomach instantly turn and made me sick. I ordered the Bloody Mary and it was SO salty. And slightly fishy?? I watched them make it and stir it with an unpolished knife. Just overall so angry that I spent so much money on such terrible food. I only ate what I did because I was so hungry after waiting so long for my food. The food was amazingly delicious and fresh, and most of the menu is gluten free or has a gluten free option! Crabby omelette with crab, Swiss cheese and avocado, plus gluten free toast was all wonderful. Hash browns cooked perfectly. Lovely Kobuk Samovar hot tea with hot water refills and to-go cup was tasty and so convenient to warm up on a brisk morning. Friendly service too by Dee! Highly recommend. The line here is always out the door almost mosh pit like because of how popular this place is. To be fair the food is really good. We went right as they open at 7 AM, and therefore did not have to wait. But go any other time and the wait is up to an hour and a half. Definitely get a savory meal while you're here. They do that well. Got a farmer's market omelette, biscuits and gravy, smoked salmon bagel, eggs Benedict. It was all GOOD breakfast and really good for the value. We're fresh, friendly and local! We specialize in brunch, which we serve all day, 7 days a week. We make everything to-order, and have lots of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free-friendly options. Come in for breakfast and treat yourself to one of our famous benedicts, or join us for lunch and enjoy a grilled cheese sandwich with our cream of tomato soup and a locally brewed beer. Our customers love our food, but they also love our service. Dietary restriction? We'll do what we can to work around it. Family-friendly? Most definitely. History

Established in 1998.

One of downtown's few coffeehouses and cafes, Snow City Cafe specializes in breakfasts served all day, featuring everything from Eggs Benedict and smoked salmon cakes to Stuffed French Toast. In addition, the vegetarian friendly menu features a wide variety of sandwiches and salads, plus smoothies and fresh baked goods. We serve local Kaladi Brothers espresso. In the past, Snow City Cafe hosted open mic nights, poetry reading, traditional irish music sessions, and many fundraisers for local, national and international causes. As Snow City's notoriety grew, so did our need for more space for their customers. In 2006, we expanded the restaurant. While the menu has seen a few changes over the years, we still embody the fun, local-friendly atmosphere that built our reputation when we opened.

Meet the Manager: Natalie J.

Natalie has a long history with Snow City Cafe, having served as our Executive Chef from 2006 to 2010, and then as a back of house lead from 2011 to 2013. Natalie is well-known in the industry, and helped lead the teams at Bear Tooth Theatrepub & Grill and Haute Quarter Grill before coming home to Snow City Cafe to take over as General Manager.

We made our reservation for Sunday the day before on Saturday. I believe we made the reservation through YELP. And they were slammed when we got there around 11 am. They were on a 1 hour wait but, after checking in, we only waited 2 or 3 minutes.

The blackened halibut on the salad was tougher, and dry. There were too many store-bought croutons and the salad dressing was possibly store-bought too and bland for a Cesar. The ribeye was totally sad. It was quite thin and unimpressive especially for the cost. It came with more of those dismal fries and some plain broccolini. Our steak-loving dinner companion only ate about half and didn't care to doggy-bag the rest so it went to waste. Calamari was average, and came with two oily amateur-chef looking sauces, one mayo flavored and one somewhat spicer was basically the same as the first. Our excellent waiter mixed up a cocktail sauce himself that blew the other sauces out of the water. Bravo to him. He was the best while waiting on us also, quick to refill a water or retrieve more drinks from the bar. Good thing the Rockefeller was great, I'd be back for that alone ($6/per oyster) but otherwise I don't think I'd rush back to Fletcher's. I really wanted to like this place, and I thought it did when they first opened. They have a decent menu, with lots of gluten free options, some of the options are great, while others are bland or small in portions. Unfortunately my big issues been with some of the staff. As lawyers we must dress nicely, suits, Chanel, Armani, heels, you just have to look nice for the profession. I sure feel out of place when I come here though. I noticed every time I went in, I got dirty looks from a few of the staff. I thought maybe I was imagining it until other people started pointing it out and noticing it too. I recall I took my best friend here for her first time, she insisted we left it was so bad. More recently I went with a large group of co-workers, we planned to get some to-go orders and drive it to our meeting. I very kindly asked if we could get one of the to-go menus, at the counter that had the to-go sign, and a sign saying to get the menus there, in which the young girl told me I had to go to the other counter, she wasn't very nice about it either, she was snappy and wouldn't even make eye contact. But I ignored it and I went on to the other counter she had directed me too and again I was directed back to the other counter I just came from, she then lectured me that all those menus were at the other counter and that they don't have them over here, demeaning me like a complete moron, so I let her know very nicely that I just came from there and that the other gal had sent me to this counter, I tried to laugh it off but instead the women huffed, rolling her eye and walked away without saying a word to me. I was so dumbfounded, I wasn't sure what to do, the people behind me asked what just happened, and said that was rude of her, I shrugged my shoulders and said "I don't know" and just laughed it off. But I was really not the slightest bit happy with the service at this point. I then sat down in the over crowded waiting area with the group I came with, who were as dumbfounded as me! The women reappeared shortly after, handing the menu to my friend who came back saying that women had an attitude. We finally reviewed the menu and ordered our food too go. After a long uncomfortable wait, we finally got our food, as we checked out, we continued to show the woman nothing but kindness, she was still rude until our co-worker ask if she was having a bad day and tried to cheer her up. She finally lightened up. Things seemed to be fine until we got to our cars we noticed they gave us no spoons for the soup, forks for our food or ketchup for the hash browns. Our co-worker ran back, when he returned he relayed to us how when he let one of the girls know we didn't get any "silverware" they gave him quiet the attitude. He said he wasn't planning on coming back EVER! He made it very clear. Well I went the other day with a group of friends who were visiting, again it was another one of those encounters with this place. I was hoping they wouldn't notice, as soon as we left all they could talk about was how bias the staff were. And I completely agree with them. I don't plan to come back anymore. Sorry we're not wearing north face, tie-dye or hipster clothes or whatever it is we not wearing. I usually give a place three strikes, unfortunately I've gave this place like ten. Enough is enough. There is always a long line for the few tables offered. After repeated attempts to have a sit down breakfast we invested a considerable portion of our morning and early afternoon today at Snow City Cafe a couple months ago. We started the journey in good humor expecting we would be investing a couple hours or slightly more. The wait for a table was 2 hours and 15 minutes alone, although every half hour we were "Assured" we were only four people behind the front of the seating line. Ridiculous we thought considering how many others before us left disgusted and hungry from their wait before ever being given a table. If you care to waste an hour and a half or more lingering on a hard bench loitering before a meal, this is the place for you. If you want a decent breakfast, Snow City delivers however there is nothing special or extraordinary about what is served...when it finally arrives. Prices are unreasonable. Portions are small. Service is horrible. Four hours of our lives we will never get back was not worth the experience. read more

Was in Anchorage for a conference last month for a few days. Had breakfast EVERY day at Snow City. Actually had the same breakfast EVERY day at Snow City. Polar bear breakfast - french toast - super size me! Love my bread multigrain all crunchy, nutty. Tried the blueberry pancakes instead the last time-they didnt work out and my attentive server recognizing me from the past 2 mornings volunteered to replace it so I said 3 is a charm bring me out that multigrain french toast. And he didnt charge me the $1 they charge you for REAL maple syrup which being from maple syrup country kind of confuses me...I never use that mrs. butterworths crap but an extra $1 for real syrup...no biggie - just saying. This is quite possibly my favorite breakfast/brunch spot of any area, not just Anchorage! The food is delicious and plentiful for fair prices, the staff is very fun and friendly (particularly the hostesses), and the ambiance is very pleasant. There's a sitting area, water, and a coffee bar at the front of the restaurant if there's a wait. There are toys for kids in this area. We waited 20 minutes on a weekday around 11am. It's also in a nice area of downtown with plenty of parking nearby. Both on the street and in a covered lot. We got an egg dish and pancakes. Both were great. We took the leftovers on our drive to Denali and ate them for lunch. By the way - it's vegetarian and vegan friendly (thank you!). read more

I've decided to go here at Snow City Café to take my breakfast, I got a breakfast sandwich with egg bacon sprouts and other veggies and it exceeded my expectations for sure. I'll try the Polar bear breakfast next time. I ambiance of the place is beautiful, I loved that it is also good for kids. Next time I visit I'll take my siblings with me. I know that they would also love the foods here. The staffs are also friendly and nice, they also wear a mask inside the café. Keep it up. Thanks for the delicious food. read more

Great brunch choice in downtown Anchorage. I had the deadliest catch, which was eggs benedict with salmon and crab cakes. My personal favorite were the crab cakes. Great flavor and nice crunchy texture. The salmon cakes was also good but was lacking in the same texture quality as the crab cakes. The egg were done over easy and perfect! The english muffin in my opinion could have been toasted a bit more. I need to try the other selections on the menu when I come and visit Anchorage again. read more

I am not impressed at all with how they do things here. Yes they are busy but when you put in an online order then get there it's taking way longer then it should. You give them time but then you see them bring the order to the front stare at it then go to doing other things then I have to go up to the counter and ask if that mine and all you get is an oh ya!!! Learn to do the task that's in front of you then you move on to the next one. Also food had 0 seasoning mediocre at best. read more

The coffee selection is top-notch; we savored the raspberry latte and the Snickers mocha--both were delightful. The restaurant exudes a cozy, homey vibe, but be warned, it's quite popular! Snow City Café is hands down one of the best breakfast spots in Anchorage. The coffee is amazing, the eggs benedict options are creative and delicious, and the pecan caramel rolls are absolutely killer--definitely a must-try. Just a heads up: during tourist season, it gets insanely busy, so your best bet is to go right when they open or visit during the off-season for a more relaxed experience. My guilty pleasure... hate supporting a socialist like Berkowitz by eating at his restaurant. Clearly he is double dipping.. enjoying the free market at his restaurant but robbing Peter to pay Paul in almost every one of his policies, programs etc.. a new one every day. Oh well screw it, I love this place so good, bring back the Italian sandwich too please.. so yummy. Breakfast is good, lunch is good, people are fantastic. read more

This breakfast place in downtown Anchorage has a charming, cute atmosphere. However, I tried the Red King Crab Cake Benedict, which was just okay, too much flours not much crab meat in it. The latte was enjoyable but it could be better if it has a little latte art on it. The service was fast and friendly. There are likely other great options on the menu that I'll explore next time. The server Enna was very friendly, even though we had an 45 minute to 1 hour wait. The food was definitely worth it. I had the triple grilled cheese with a tomato and tomato and pesto soup, with a root beer and water. The ambiance was a fast and trendy clean and fast paced and friendly environment. The seniors and my boss and coworkers enjoyed the food and customer service. We will definitely come back again. read more

Amazing is the only word that works. Service was great, sat next to 2 total strangers at the counter, but left as friends. Had the deadliest catch breakfast. Best hollandaise sauce I've ever had. Hash browns were perfect and the crab & salmon cakes were delicious. If I could have, I would have licked the plate. My waitress was LeAnne. She was attentive but not annoying. read more

Snow City is a place to bring family and friends when they are in town. They've got many specials to choose from in addition to their regular menu. I enjoy the eclectic assortment of coffee mugs and atmosphere that Snow City provides. I think you get a fair amount of food with good bang for buck ratio. If you're hankering for some crab try this place out. read more

Awesome salads at Snow City Cafe! Freshest vegetables! Service is excellent ! I always get crabby omelet which is my favorite but today tried the Seattle Chop salad. May be my new favorite !!! The dressing makes the salad. It should be bottled and sold!! My husband got the Southwestern Salad. Excellent The dressing absolutely makes it! read more

We love this place, it's our go to for breakfast. The eggs benedict is amazing. Service is always very good, gets busy on weekends so go early! Delicious food, always served hot fresh and promptly. They have plenty of options for picky eaters as well, and will accommodate. This is a go to place for breakfast or brunch in our area! read more

Best place ever n Alaska by far. Breakfast was amazing. We walked from our hotel, about 5min. You can tell that this place is good from the people standing outside. The food was amazing. Can't find a place like this in California. I recommend getting the stiffed French toast, or the Benedict. Either one will amaze your taste buds. read more
