THEIR FOOD. Thick milkshakes packed flavor. Tender-crisp waffle fries, not greasy. Juicy burgers seasoned just right - I find Smashburger burgers heavily overseasoned, for reference. The space was super busy, with tables filled the minute they were cleaned off. Servers and bussers hustling and bustling every which way, harried ones and beaming ones alike. They've had a busy month of adjusting, and it shows. The open kitchen area is clearly quite disorganized. Tons of confused faces behind the counter. No clear stations. Salads being made in line with the heat coming off of the grill - not good. Heads up: veggies wilt in heat. Regardless, the food is sublime. Both my Irishman and I agree - we've found a new regular burger spot. One single-serving of waffle fries and one Reese's milkshake were more than enough to round out our two customized Big Mike burgers and leave my 6' Marine and me way beyond stuffed. Had to try this place. A lot of people talk about it. I went in and they were pretty busy. I got seated right away. I knew that I wanted a cheeseburger but didn't know a lot about the place for other stuff. The waitress came over pretty quickly and wanted to get the order and that was it. In a rush I felt. I got a 1/2 malt with a burger and waffle fries.. Once again, came pretty fast. The burger was good, but not great. The waffle fries were really good, but the season sour cream was just ok. The malt was good, but typical malt in tin can.. The ambiance was ok, but the feel that a person gets is a fast food drive through. They want to get you in and then get you out. Some people like that, some don't.... I will say that for the meal that you get, it is pretty costly.. For my meal it was $25 and nothing that stood out to me about it. read more

A last minute Sunday lunch with a buddy brought us to the larger of 2 nearby Snuffy's. It's never been a favorite as I find it to be noisy and uncomfortable. Nothing has changed. It appears the place is laid out, almost exclusively, for small (6+ p.p.) groups/families which makes sense but does little to provide comfortable seating for 2 diners. Our food (big surprise: burgers) arrived quickly and hot. The patties are small while the cheese was generous (see photo). Service was just OK as our waitress spent significant time gabbing with the guys behind the counter...based on her presentation she was a relatively new employee. While I am an infrequent visitor to any Snuffy's, I've found the Edina location better from a service, cleanliness and presentation. Both are a decent stop for kids while the Bloomington setting is much better for larger (and louder) burger eaters. read more

All the small town feels in this friendly joint! The wait staff is incredibly nice and fun - welcoming you right on in. The menu has a lot to offer, but my favorite thing has to be the Malts! they have every flavor you could think of from cookie dough, to cherry, and even raspberry! The best part, you can even order half size malts. I don't know about you, but my eyes are always bigger than my stomach. The half size malt is perfect for pairing with a delicious sandwich or classic side! They offer to go cups for leftover malts as well. Remember when I said small town feels and friendly staff? The Waitress had offered to put our extra malt leftovers in the freezer until we left. While walking out of the shop, EVERY employee gave a big ole friendly goodbye wave. I felt compelled to write a review because I sort of figured a childhood favorite like Snuffy's wouldn't hold up as an adult but no, it was great. Really enjoyed our time at Snuffy's! Their goal is to get a good meal at a fair with the feels of a classic 50's dinner. I love the booth seating and old school vibe. I think they could make it even more over the top 50's with more decorations which would enhance the experience but you get what they are going for. We tried a PB & J and Butterscotch malt and both were delicious. Would go back for a malt anytime I am craving one. Also tried their Spicy Burger which was good. Not too spicy but had a good kick to it. Their sweet potato fries and chipotle mayo were absolutely mouth watering. Over all you get you bang for you buck here. If you want a good burger and malt and a reasonable price, stop in! PS - our server was probably one of the best I've had in a while. She was attentive, not overbearing, very nice and funny. I like the feel of Snuffy's. It has an older feel and a family oriented fell. The staff is friendly, they even meet you at the door to say welcome. It was a really hot day so I thought a malt might help keep me cool but I was Alamo hungry and it was past lunch time. So I ordered the spicy Snuffy burger, a side of onion rings, and a chocolate-cherry malt. The burger was cooked well and had decent flavor. The onion rings were decent, not the worst but not the best. The malt was the same quality, not the worst but not the best. My waitress was very friendly and funny, I appreciate good customer service. All in all, would I go back? Yes, I will go back. The service is a big part of that. The price is a little speedy for the quality of food but I will pay for okay food that comes with great customer service. I encourage others to experience Snuffy's and see what you think. read more

Today was their second day open in Bloomington, so give them a break on service. Our server was delightful, polite and knowledgeable. They were slammed during lunch today by the time we left. My hubby and I had time for a relaxed lunch so we didn't mind. I suggest waiting a few days if you need to be in and out. With that said, it was worth every minute! My hubby had the Snuffy burger and devoured it in no time. It was complimented by the single serving of French fries which was more than enough for two people. I had the egg salad sandwich on toasted white bread and it was delightful! Add to that a famous Snuffy's peanut butter and banana malt and we had ourselves a fantastic lunch for $25! We also tried the chicken noodle soup and loved the big fat noodles, the perfectly tender carrots and broth. Totally get yourselves to Bloomington for Snuffy's. Worth the trip. read more

Nice burger spot! I ordered the mushroom burger with an extra patty and got the jalapeno bacon. I would say the bacon was nothing special, I would just order regular bacon next time. The burger was tasty for the price. I thought it would be a fast casual restaurant where you order in front then sit down but it actually is a sit down restaurant. It has the retro diner vibes which is always cute. I unfortunately did not try a malt but I will have to someday. The side options are HUGE and so affordable. You are better off getting the small size if you are by yourself or even it could feed up to 2-3 people. The family size is MASSIVE. Which is great. I have ordered many times from Snuffy's and was always pleased. I ordered two California burgers, one with fries and one with onion rings for dinner tonight. Upon opening the boxes, the fries and onion rings were terribly soggy...awful! I called and complained and was told that sometimes that happens when the food is hot and you close the containers. Not okay with me. I just spent $25 for food that is not acceptable. I am so disappointed. read more

I was just there yesterday to place a to-go order and the food came out after about ten-fifteen minutes which wasn't terrible but not great, but then had to wait so much longer for our 1 malt. By the time that was ready and we got home, the grilled cheese sandwiches were completely soggy, not correct with toppings and the cheese burger didn't have cheese or ketchup on it which were the only toppings we ordered. Very nice staff! Malts were great!! Meal was ok and not overly exciting taste-wise. I had the patty melt and a side of waffle fries. Kids devoured their kid meals without complaints and the portions were enough for my 6-8 year olds. Myself and 2 kids were able to eat for a little less than $40 with tip so pretty reasonable in my opinion. Overall a pretty kid-friendly atmosphere. While biking, I came across Snuffy's. I had driven passed it numerous times before but the thought of going there when craving a burger never crossed my mind. Well I'm glad I stopped in. The 50s feel was something of nostalgia. We ordered shortly right after sitting down and the food came within 10 minutes. Everything was fresh so I was very surprised at how fast the service was, esp on a busy Saturday afternoon. I had the Big Mike Burger and my boyfriend ordered the Spicy Snuffy Burger. We shared the Snuffy's chili cheese fries. Everything was delicious - the burgers cooked to order and juicy. The fries were good too but I wish they had heated it longer because the cheese didn't melt in all the way. We found room to split a banana split (ha ha). Whatever you do, save room for the banana split. It was so worth it. Just reminded me of the old days as a kid. Banana split doesn't seem to be a thing nowadays. Minus a star for not having a bike rack. Took us about 20 minutes to figure out where we should locked our bikes, because they don't accommodate bikers. read more

I just moved to the area from Mpls and I've been here twice now. Both times I have been greeted warmly by the staff and seated immediately. Both times the waitresses were very friendly in taking my order. My food was delivered within 10 minutes both times. The burgers and malts were both very delicious! The last time I was there it was almost time for them to close and I told the waitress that I would hurry up so I they could close up and get done. She said " don't worry about it, it's okay". Opened this year in Bloomington, MN. Well deserved because the Life Time Fitness across the street is quite 'intimidating'... We are MN. We need to prepare for winter by layering up our bodies for the long winter. Everything here is worth the trip. Just trust me on this - get a burger with fries and a malt(any flavor). We had time to spare when en route to picking up someone at the MSP airport and decided to go here instead of Culvers for a malt. My mom stood in line for over 15 minutes after placing our order and finally we had to cancel the order and leave because the wait times were too long. We visited Snuffys Minnetonka for dine in and takeout about eight or 10 times now since moving here back in August. The staff is always friendly and the food is always good. Easily viewable from the road, this branch is definitely worth a visit! we came in close to closing time and they didn't bat an eye and provided us very polite and fast service which made the whole experience very pleasant. the inside has a very retro/vintage feel from the red and white pin stripes to the black and white photos. the burgers were really good-they were a bit pricy but worth every penny. the specialty burgers are really where its at malts- what they're named after. as good as they get! they don't have a medicinal powder taste like most other malts, until the very bottom of the glass. they're thicker than shakes and far more creamier and richer. we split one 3 ways and another 2 ways. the split 3 ways was just right which goes to show u get a lot per malt. the strawberry flavor was the best although the brownie was good as well, just a little overpowering with sweetness onion rings & fries- honestly the single size is enough for 2 people or even 3. u get a huge quantity. our onion rings were burnt the first time around and they graciously replaced it with a second basket. the fries were good, just simple basic fries. not that much seasoning. definitely worth a visit-will be back for more! read more

All I'm saying is when i pay extra for certain toppings, I expect them to be on my burger when I get home. When the menu says their burgers come with raw onions and pickles, I assumed it'd be a habit for their employees to put them on the burger when building it. If you would like to get a good traditional shake or malt, this is a good (but not great) place to do so. Even the small shakes were enough to fill our glasses nearly twice. My oreo one was good, with real oreo pieces in it, not the crumbles some places use. However, my wife's chocoffeelate (I think that was the name--coffee and chocolate), was too much chocolate (which is really saying something from my wife who loves ANY chocolate!). Sadly it goes downhill from there--my grilled chicken sandwich was WAY overcooked, with a crusty outside (remember this is grilled, not fried), and a dry inside.
