ALMOST PERFECT, but.... Typically we have a good experience at this location (hence, the 4 stars), but today (Jan.30, 2026) was the exception. While pulling up to the beginning of the car wash entrance (where they hand you an air freshener) some scruffy employee with a shaved head and a lightning bolt tattoo on his head was yelling at us "Go, Go, GOOOOI!!!!". We had noticed while pulling up that he was sending cars through the wash really close together, not quite bumper to bumper, but closer than normal. We have been lucky but we have a friend who was rear ended while going through at a different location. So, yeah, we're going to want to put some distance between us and the car in front of us. So, Mr. Lightning Bolt, calm down. It's not a race car track, it's a car wash. And brush up on your customer service skills; don't yell at customers who PAY FOR THIS MEMBERSHIP. Awesome carwash. Every time I stopped by, the line was not long at all. I do like how they give out the car freshener and towels to wipe down the car. The vacuum is very strong, so just be careful to pick up everything before you start. The price of the carwash is good. I honestly don't think the tire cleaner works good, but again everything else makes up for it. read more

After the outside wash, I have never had to wait to use the self help detailing services. As they provide vacuums, towels, and trash cans for deep cleaning the inside of your car too. Visit date- 4/22/23 There was a bit of a line, but it moved quickly. I took advantage of the current promo - 1st month of unlimited washes for the cost of one was. Attendants were standing by to help process my order and add the sticker to my car. The downside of the line moving quickly was the wash wasn't as good as I would have liked. Wheels were still pretty dirty, bug spots all over. Plenty of vacuums available for use. My favorite feature is the towel bins - plenty of clean towels available to wipe your car down after the wash. read more

Hooray for Soapy Joe's popping up all over San Diego. I am a member so I do like the more choices around town. I recently visit this new addition to La Presa and Encanto area. I arrived when they first opened up so there was no line. All the equipment was working well and the place was very clean. Not all the boxes had drying towels, including where I parked to dry, so I had to get towels from another drying parking station. The single employee that was on site was very nice. I would say that this Soapy Joes is in a good spot. My car was washed very well through the car wash. I've been to some other locations and I still have sap and what not on my car. I didn't interact with any staff during my visit, was just directed in the car wash when entering. Normal pricing for a single wash which is $13.00. The vacuums didn't work very good. Not much suction. A lot of the trash cans were full. Used towels were full. Not very many clean towels. I would say the lot where all of that stuff should be maintained was rather dirty. I didn't see anyone maintaining the lot. That's my observation. read more

I would NEVER take my car back to this or any location operated by soapy Joes. They scratched the hood of my car as well as the top. I was told to fill out a report and they would take pictures of the damage and get back to me. After there review my damage to my car they stated was not due to there negligence. Imagine that they are the judge and jury here. I was told to claim the damage on my insurance!!. I asked for a representative from Soapy Joes to put there eyes on the damage but was told it wasn't there problem. Don't ever use any Soapy Joe car washes. read more

I went with a $200 annual fee that was offered by Costco as has been well worth it as I no longer spend a hour to just was the outside of my car. Absolutely unacceptable behavior at Soapy Joe's. An employee with neck tattoos started aggressively yelling at me in front of my child just because I backed up a little in line. Even with my windows up, I could hear him shouting and pointing. He then continued the intimidation inside the car wash while I was trapped in the vehicle. Completely unprofessional, threatening, and traumatic for my kid. I'm considering filing a police report -- no customer should be treated like this. Their machine is constantly has a malfunction and will cause a damages to your bumper. They push three cars at once and due to malfunction the cars will hit each other They will simply say we are not responsible. They will always say your hand was on the steering wheel and we told you it has to be hand free. (Usual excuses). Check out other reviews in google and yelp to see what people saying about accidents. The staff who checked me in made my drive up smooth, and gave me good instructions on how to get my car in the bay safely. My car cruised through the wash seamlessly, only to be welcomed by SO MANY FREE VACUUMS! WOO HOO! Vacuums we're POWERFUL (they sucked up my rugs, wow!) and picked up every last dog hair and crumb hiding in the crevices of my car. This soapy joes cannot open on time I count on this car wash every morning I drive for a living and wash my car everyday but if they cannot open on time they are messing with my money. It's been so many times now I show up and the opening manager can't make it on time. I believe he or she has to be here by 6AM there times I've waited till well after 7:30 to wash my car. I have to take my kids to a school and start work as soon as I drop them off but this makes it's very difficult to do my routine if I still have to drop off my kids and drive to wash my car after it takes away atleast 1 hour from my work time. They need to get it together and get someone that can make it on time read more

I used to like this car wash. The people seemed friendly, the location is convenient. However, the last time I went has me scared to go back, and left my car damaged. We were in the car wash, and suddenly my steering wheel started turning and we were being pushed off the track to the left side of the car wash. I started honking and the machine stopped and the guy ran over. He asked if I was in neutral and I pointed and showed him yes I was in neutral. He directed me to turn the wheel to the right to get back on the track. He again checked if I had it in neutral and I double checked and confirmed yes it is in neutral. The car wash starts and we go forward a little bit and suddenly are being pushed off the track again, up and over to the right this time! My son was so scared, and so was I! I started honking again and the guy comes back and is looking at this crazy position we are in, and he goes to get his manager. The manager comes back and they share what looks like "oh sh**" glances, but I can't hear what they are saying. Anyway, the manager leaves and the guard rail starts moving, and then the attendant says once again he's going to direct me to drive back onto the track. I do that, and drive forward over the next little stopper and finally make it out of the car wash. I was really shaken up at that point, it was such a crazy experience and so I went straight home down the street, not thinking to file a claim. My husband looks at the car and there's a deep scratch about 8" long, along with some smaller scratches. I'm definitely scared to go back, so I'll be canceling my membership. read more
