I chose the sushi burrito with tempura shrimp. The portion was generous, especially for the price I paid. I also ordered a Thai boba tea. The cucumber salad was topped with the perfect amount of vinegar, sesame seeds, and cucumber. The sushi burrito was well made; however, next time I will ask for no lettuce, as it took away from the overall taste. It just did not pair well with the other ingredients. The Thai boba tea was a bit too sweet for my taste, so I will likely dilute it next time. Overall, I would definitely come back, especially since I will be in the area quite often. The service was good and fast, even though the place was packed with about ten people in line at one time. The ambiance is cool, but it takes some effort to navigate through the crowd. read more

Picked up lunch here on a Saturday while on campus for a conference. Clearly the two workers were planning for a lite Saturday and not to have a conference crowd. They were not prepared for most meat items and made orders and then set them aside to cook the meat. I ordered the poke bowl with crab and tempura and everything honestly tasted bland. There were limited options than other poke bowl places I've been. Once my bowl was ready, both workers had me wait even longer as they wrapped the burritos that were set to the side. They had a bit of conversation about which order was which - which slowed them down more. Perhaps the place could be better on a normal day when the workers are expecting a crowd. read more

I've had this place bookmarked for a while. I got lost and ended up here finally. The place is a fast food set up, so most orders are to go. You pick the plate style you want like two proteins or burrito style. You can pick from their default selections usually named after sushi names like California roll and have it into a bowl style Uc you wanted. It's a small space, but the ladies working there were very nice and fast. You can modify practically anything on the menu like if you didn't want corn or you want to add yum yum sauce on it , you can. I enjoyed my food and would go again if I was in the area. read more

I have eaten here several times in the last few years and have never had any real issue. Maybe because I keep my order simple. A California burrito with chipotle mayo. Its like a giant California roll which is about the only sushi I am willing to eat. I like the nori wrap and the imitation crab. The avocado is a nice touch too. With the creamy richness and the hint of spice from the chipotle mayo, everything is tied together quite well. I've tried one other burrito here once. The cheese steak maybe. It was good but I always come back to the California. The only "issue" I've ever had was that they ran out of avocado so I had to wait for about 5 minutes for them to finish making my lunch while they sourced more. Not bad. And on that day they made the burrito so full they could hardly roll it. I'll continue coming back when I'm looking for a fresh filling meal that is not as heavy as a burger. read more

I'm so happy we finally have something good to eat at the Student Union. For years, it's been Panda Express and Subway which is why I'd only come to SU for drinks from Jamba or Starbucks. Or I'd go across the street for edible options. This place opens at 9:30am which is pretty sweet because I can grab my 2nd breakfast and lunch before I go to my class. It's super convenient for students and other UNLV peeps. They've only been open for a few days and the line gets pretty crazy. However, they move quite fast so the wait isn't too bad - well, maybe, except when people in front of you stare at the menu for hours and still couldn't decide what to get. You're sh|+ out of luck. Hopefully, you can utilize the pictures of the menu I posted so, you're not THAT person. Just like the other Soho locations, they have sushi burritos or sushi burrito bowls, chips, edamame, mochi, etc. They have signature combos or you can build your own. Brown rice, white rice, sushi rice, salad, tofu + your choice of protein (salmon, surimi, tuna, chicken, steak, veggie asada, tempura, soft shell crab...you get the idea) + veggies and texture enhancers (crunch, wontons) + sauce. What I usually get are: Sunny Salmon, 3 Amigos, Rebel, Twin Dragon...or I customize my bowl. They're pretty chill with substitutions as long as it's of similar category - like green onions instead of red onions. Don't expect them to swap your red onions with spicy tuna - life doesn't work that way! They're open til 8pm and closed on Sunday. They don't have chopsticks but everyone knows how to use a fork. Can someone tell me what this is? Because this is NOT a poke bowl. I asked for the North Shore poke bowl with no rice just salad.... They made the bowl with no lettuce whatsoever and when I asked them what happened to the base they proceeded to tell me there wasn't a base? Im pretty sure it's a poke bowl.. so they instead just literally SPRINKLED some lettuce on top to make it a salad? So I asked the cashier, doesn't the poke bowl come with a base, she said, "yes.." I said so what is this because it looks pretty sorry to me and ALL SHE HAD TO SAY WAS, "oh im sorry about that". WTF? I paid $9 for this.. wow.. If this is what the future work force is going to look like, I am scared.. this is college.. you would think they would understand how to make a decent poke bowl. SMH. read more

Very glad they replaced Metro Pizza with Soho. Every time I pass by, I see a line for bowls and burritos. Their lines are long for a reason- the food is good and different from the other options offered in UNLV's Student Union. They have premade rolls and bowls for quick ordering, or you can make your own bowl/burrito. The price depends on what protein you get. Spicy salmon, tomago, tofu, & krab are around $5.50. Specialty toppings like seaweed salad, masago, & guac are an extr $0.50. Bowls are large and well worth the price. I should mention that the bowls are compostable!!!! :-) The young employees are more than pleasant to interact with! Best service you'll find in the SU. read more

Considering it was on a college campus this place was amazing. I currently live in Baton Rouge however I am originally from NYC. Where I'm from sushi burritos are a thing and you can get them anywhere and they will be pretty spot on for a decent price. Baton Rouge not so much. So when I visited for a competition with my school I just had to have one obviously. This place was in the student union and while I didn't get to see them on a busy day they were pretty good about helping me order( every build your own place is different). I liked that they had shrimp tempura as an option. There were many cooked options for those who are not a fan of raw fish. They had pretty good toppings and the price was lower than I thought it would be and super delicious. My only concern and honestly it's nit picky is that places seem to use regular sushi seaweed and all the places in NYC use a larger seaweed sheet so it's the size of a chipotle burrito when you are done. I don't know, I find the uptick in price worth it for the size and instagram worthy image free advertising you get from larger sushi burrito rolls. But I'd come back if I was in town again. Fantastic sushi! Located inside of the Student Union on campus at UNLV. I love it here because the food is always so fresh and delicious! I usually order a California Roll Burrito, and the employees always stuff it to the max so you definitely get the bang for your buck! The facility is always super clean and the employees are always nice and friendly, even during the lunch rush! If you're looking something to calm the sweet tooth, I would definitely recommend trying out their mochi! read more

My go to is the lion king. It is refreshing but today I tried the triple S burrito and I have to say it's my new favorite. Couldn't wait to take a bite. Lol excuse my bites. I like how quick the service is and so yummy! If you have the cash try it sometime. Some can be too salty for my taste so only five stars. It seems that poke shops gained so much popularity in 2016. With that, there are amazing poke shops and horrible ones as well. Soho is definitely on the better side. ATMOSPHERE: This Soho replaced the Metro Pizza in the UNLV Student Union and replaced Metro Pizza. It constantly has a packed line. There are a lot of people working at this restaurant and it's great because the food always made quickly. FOOD: You have your choice of preset recipes or creating your own masterpiece. It's your preference if you want a poke burrito or a poke bowl, but I prefer getting a bowl. I will say, in this expensive generation, $10 at Soho can get you a lot more than other restaurants. Their portions are big and they are not stingy with their toppings. If you don't add on a bunch of stuff and stay within what is included, you can get your entree with a miso soup and a drink, all for under $10. They also have their famous Taro Chips and Cheese if you want to try something different or they have individually packaged Ice Cream Mochi if you're craving something sweet. NOTE: My only critique about this place is that their rice is dry compared to other poke shops. read more

I learned about this whole chain thanks to UNLV, and being kind of health-conscious, it's the only spot in the SU I'll buy food from. For real Poke bowls I'd probably recommend you go elsewhere, but for the burritos, this place is so far some of the better one I have tried. The fish is just okay; it doesn't taste especially fresh or flavorful, so if you're used to eating raw like me, this place may disappoint you. I've gotten to the point of just accepting it from here; I'm sure most of it comes pre-frozen, but again, it's a franchise. I usually vary it up between the Sunny Salmon, the Hey Reb, or my own custom burrito when I feel like it. I highly recommend getting a burrito over a bowl, because for some reason everything I eat here starts to taste really bland once I get to the bottom of it, no matter how much I mix it. But when the signature meals are burritos, the flavors work much more cohesively. read more

Very disappointed with this place, I asked what was in the grilled salmon teriyaki bowl and the guy working was like " uhh grilled salmon?" with attitude & looked over at a coworker and started laughing at me. I was asking this because I didn't know if they but extra stuff in it. It did not say on the menu or anything. They acted like I was stupid like I know that there is grilled salmon in it. Duh. The Brightest Spot in an otherwise crappy day... I forgot my lunch and as I was mulling over where to go on the UNLV campus, I remembered Soho and thought I'd give it a whirl. I'm glad I did. Soho serves sushi/poke fish with a Mexican presentation. Not up for burritos? Have no fear. Soho will also put all your food in a bowl. And the bowls are HUGE. A very good deal for the price. Not in the mood for raw fish? Soho has options on the menu that are cooked and a Vegan bowl/burrito that I'll probably try next time I stop by. I had the 3 Amigos bowl. Tuna, Salmon, Yellowtail, Masago and veggies. They have an open kitchen and make the food to order while you wait. If you aren't into won-tons and fru-fru mayo based sauces, they'll happily leave them off. Last of all the staff. The manager is really on point at this place. He saw my pathetic attempt to redecorate the SU floor with my chili sauce as I was wiping it up. As I went to leave, he asked if I dropped my bowl (I think he would've replaced it if I had). Had the opportunity to try Soho today for lunch....im not a huge sushi fan so i got the Santa Fe burrito with quinoa, avocado and tempura chrunch added and a side of the vegan chipotle mayo...this was absolutely DELISH!!!! Chicken was moist and not gritty at all, the flavors all blended to perfection. It was filling without the guilt on too of it. Im excited to try more on the menu and am definitely a new fan and patron. Even delivered it didnt disappoint, and can only image its even better eating in! I continue to return to Soho for lunch as it's close to my work and it's a great healthy and lite option. It's basically a build your own set up much like a subway concept but for Sushi which can be made in a sushi burrito, sushi bowl, salad or nachos using taro chips. The portions are quite good for the price. I've ordered both in store and online. The online ordering system is extremely easy to use and I never get spam emails for them. The only downside to their online ordering is the wait time. I've waited up to 45 minutes to receive the "your order is ready" email. I do really love that they have a small condiment bar where you can get pickled ginger, soy sauce and wasabi for there or to go. I am beyond impressed with how their sushi burrito turned out! It was my first time and I asked for the most popular thing (Hey Reb sushi burrito) with a side of ponzu sauce and it was sooooo bomb! For a sushi lover, the size of this burrito is amazing compared to its price! I paid $8 and some change! The crunch on the outside from the flakes was perfect and also the crunchy wontons in the middle was a perfect combination to texture in the burrito. I will say that I did not like the unagi skin. But that's also probably because I almost ate the whole thing and we all know how we feel when we eat too much sushi awesome place! Can't wait to try other things! read more

I go to UNLV and SOHO is one of the normal spots I go for food. I have read reviews about other poke spots and they all talk about how bad the food was spoiled and so on. I had never experienced that at soho until today...9/27/2017. To start, the portion they gave was utter nonsense. Normally they give three scoops of the proteins, but today they gave one. The employees were also talking about things that I felt were inappropriate during work. I understand the staff is young and that it is a college campus, but I do not want to hear about someone's party habits while I'm ordering food from them. Now, to top it all off when I received my bowl and opened it the putrid stench of the salmon almost made me gag. I was only able to take one bite and now my stomach is killing me. If I could give them zero stars I would because I got food today and it was the worst poke bowl I ever had. I had gotten food from here before and it wasn't bad but today it was horrible. It the raw salmon was warm and nasty the toppings looked old and I couldn't even taste the sauce. I struggled to finish it just because I didn't want to throw food away.
