The presentation was nice but I felt like the sushi wasn't as flavorful as I would have liked. I wasn't too blown away. It was ok.

On our recent trip to Florida we lucked upon Soho Sushi while exploring Tampa on our first day. If we hadn't had other commitments in Orlando, we would have definitely come back during the week we were there. They asked if we had reservations for lunch...we didn't... but they got us right in. The food was good, the prices seemed more than fair and the service was excellent. We would definitely recommend this place. If we even get close to this place again, we're going. The building is a bit unassuming and parking may be a little tricky, but I can see where this place rocks on weekends. Total thumbs up for Soho Sushi. read more

I'm a huge sushi lover so wanted to finally check out what all the hype was about since I've heard many good things about this place. Ordered to-go online ahead of time which was convenient. They have a decent but not extensive number of specialty sushi on their menu, as well as other food items like bao buns, fried appetizers, ramen, etc. Sushi was good, honestly nothing special. Good quality and fresh, but tbh I've had better. Also I wish they would've maybe labeled the boxes of which roll was what, because they honestly tasted very similar and had all the same fish lol. Stopped in for restaurant week with my friend, its a great deal and in place til 6/25/23. Big portions. Chicken katsu has light breading and tangy bbq sauce. My favorite roll was candy cane roll. Giving this two stars because we enjoyed the food prior to the refill and a frozen bug on the ice. Service is slow during lunch and the manager on duty did not come to even apologize for their being a frozen bug and it was not taken off the bill because "it was a refill". Alas, that has given way to mediocre quality, lackluster service and a point of sale system that forces a minimum 18% tip when paying with a card regardless of what service you did ( or in my case, did not ) receive. I'll start off by saying that we ordered two different specialty sushi rolls, vegetable tempura, and chicken katsu. The vegetable tempura was soggy and wet breaded texture. The plastic takeaway container was drenched in what was assumably oil. The specialty sushi rolls were bland - simply licking the tips of your own fingers provided more flavor and spice than the sushi at SoHo Sushi. Then there was the chicken katsu. The batter was falling off the chicken, as if the chicken and batter were cooked separate then sewed to each other afterwards like a Frankenstein chicken. The battered chicken was too dry and had to be soaked in the house bbq sauce, which was basically publix bbq with added honey and a hint of cigarette smoke. Then there was the promise of a 15$ bottle of wine. After we ordered from the take away menu to include a wine bottle, we received a call from the hostess informing us that they were not going to sell us a bottle and that the 15$ offer wasn't a thing. Then there was the bill, which a 20% tip was automatically applied. I dropped the tip down to 10% just because of the pressure and that the fact that someone took time to cook the food - definitely not for the service. If I had tasted the food, I would have asked for them to pay me. I suggest you pass up on this place and go somewhere else. read more

I would definitely prefer to have some more authentic food than what they offered. I had ramen and was pretty decent but not amazing. I have had a better ramen in the past. Sushi were pretty decent as well but again not amazing. So the restaurant was relatively good but I expected more from it. I came here for my birthday, the food and sushi were good, I recommend the donut roll, However the volcano roll smelt like canned tunafish (it contains no tuna) and I had to send it back. The staff was fine, nothing bad but nothing exceptional. Do not come here if you have any food allergies. The hostess the wait staff and very uneducated about food allergies. Telling someone the sushi rice is gluten free and coming in to find out it isn't and they pretty much have nothing but edamame that you can eat.and than to say we'll "stay away from dark sauces" wtf does that even mean! also the spring rolls don't say deep fried it says "crisp veggies ". It wasn't terrible.I was disappointed I saw a glass of free wine worth 15$ on Yelp to check in so I made a reservation but when I tried to use the coupon they said the manager isn't aware of it so they didn't even acknowledge it . Tables are also really close so if you get easily distracted you'll just be listening to other peoples private conversations. Beer and wine only and happy hour specials from 5-7pm. Ginger salad, dumplings and wonton soup are all delicious. I've been spending more time in Tampa than usual, but still learning the various areas. Tonight, we wanted to try something new but the first place was pretty crowded. Soho Sushi was the first place that popped up closest to where we were, and being that we were starving, we decided to give it a shot. Parking, while they do have some parking, the lot is rather small. They offer complimentary valet and maybe eventually some of the curbside parking will become regular parking. Upon walking in, we were immediately greeted and sat down at a table. The server came over a moment later for drink orders. I tried the LYCHEE martini and it was really nice and refreshing, not too sweet. 10/10 I would try it again. They have a pretty nice size menu, and a great variety of options bedsides just sushi. We both decided on a pork belly bun. They were so good I didn't even capture a picture before we devoured them. Usually the asking of pork belly is small, but these buns were pretty filling as an appetizer. Next up, we tried a tuna nacho. Did I mention we were starving, because I didn't get a picture of those either. They come with an option of 2 or 4, we went with 2. They come in a plate with a Mayo wasabi and the flavor is nice and spicy. We decided on the Candy Cane and Ring of Fire rolls as entrees. The Candy Cane has a nice kick to it, with a spicy sesame oil on the bottom. The Ring of Fire was not spicy, but still really tasty. I wish I had more room for another roll, because all of their rolls looked pretty great. All in all, we will definitely be back. The sushi was fresh, and the service was fast. I look forward to trying more rolls and checking out their happy hour. We missed that by about 10 minutes. read more

Was visiting Tampa for the weekend and my friends took me to try Soho Sushi during their happy hour. We each ordered 2 different rolls and enjoyed them all very much, specifically my favorite being the Mr. Miami. As for drinks I tried out the Soho Spritz and was initially worried it might be too sugary but the waitress was super friendly and let me know I could change out the drink if I didn't like it. The drink ended up being delicious! We made reservations and that's the best advice I can give you because the restaurant was very packed and service took a little longer due to the high volume during happy hour. Quality of food is superb, and staff - many long-time, experienced and awesome servers. I've been coming to SoHo since my 'takeout era' of Covid and now coming in and sitting at the bar or at a table - always amazing experience! SO comfy and pleasant. My last visit, just a few days ago.. by myself for a quick meal after a long day - Kally the bartender now, used to be in the main dining area - was so efficient and attentive... so "on it"!!! Always laughing and just a great spirit and wonderful experience! AND - not at expense of the service. Frankly, the place is amazing, the menu - SO extensive! As we were driving back home yesterday from the beach we decided to go out of our way and pick up some of our favorite sushi. The order plus gratuity came down to over $90. Nettles to say we only order about 3 rolls and one fried rice. The worst part is the RIP OFF. I am posting pictures of the sushi rolls so you all can see were the disappointment comes from. I finally got to try this sushi spot and it was pretty good! First off, I would recommend to make reservations since the parking lot is quite small. It's sleek and modern inside, busy during weekend dinner. They offer free valet parking but if you go before it opens, you can park yourself. The service was great, our waiter was attentive and patient with us! There was a lot of options for sushi and non-sushi options and even more options in alcoholic drinks. So I seen their dessert as I was looking in Tampa where to go next after lunch and found Soho Sushi on Yelp when I looked in the map area! Thank goodness I did and I seen the dessert of the deep fried Oreos and ice cream on the front page! So obviously being a dessert fanatic I stopped in and just got dessert! They were slammed for lunch with almost every table full at 12:30 in the afternoon. Service was great but parking was not. Bad sushi is typically something I don't like to test my luck with. My friend wanted to try so we came at 5:00 on a Friday for HH . Their HH only has 4 sushi rolls, which was disappointing, but prices are fair for sushi in the area. We got the Negi Hama roll, the Salmon Avocado, the Spicy Crunchy Salmon roll, and the Blazian. All so good and super fresh. The miso soup and edamame were great too. Super excited to come back and try more. I didn't see any self parking, I believe it is only valet, so make sure you have a few dollars for tip. :) read more
