A tried and true favorite, I've eaten at + ordered delivery from Soho Thai since 2016. I get the same few things every time. Their Pineapple Fried Rice is a favorite (my personal hangover cure) - I get it spicy and with no tomatoes. Love the roasted cashews in there. I love the massaman curry as well. Delicious + flavorful curry that goes perfectly with the spongy tofu. Pad thai is good, nothing that special about it. I've eaten a lot of Thai food and even make it at home. It's one of my favorite cuisines. Unfortunately, I would rename this place So-So Thai. I had the $19.95 lunch special. I chose chicken basil stirfry, tom yum soup and Thai coffee. The stirfry was watery instead of having a stirfry consistency. Flavor was OK but the soggy texture brought it down. Not that many vegetables. The chicken was sliced very thin and it was too chewy. Tom yum had very few mushrooms. To sum it up, this is uninspired Thai food that delivers the bare minimum. This restaurant was designed with such a unique style. The furniture is made from cherry wood and beautiful. The seat had curves to really hold your body. The lighting was dim. The ceiling was dark with black and trimmed in a lighter color with the perfect contrast in asymmetrical squares. The lighting was warm. I loved it! I ordered the Golden punch, crispy dumplings with pork and the Pad Se Ew with shrimp. Ughhhhhhh, when I say everything was delicious. I mean it! The crispy dumplings came out first and they were hot and stuffed to the brim with meat. They were crispy on the outside and bursting with flavor. I loved the fact that they weren't greasy. Next up, my alcoholic beverage with vodka, passion fruit and pineapple juice garnished with thistle and a dried blood orange. It was visibly pleasing and tasty. The only disappointment was the tiny black straw given that assured tiny sips. LoL!!! The entree was sooooooo good! It had broccoli, scrambled eggs, flat rice noodles, and shrimp in the most satisfying sauce. I ate every drop! Listen, the service was 10/10. Our server gave appropriate wait time. Downside, she didn't recommend any dishes or weigh in when I was indecisive about my meat choice. However, everything was brought to the table in a timely manner. The water was cold and had an appropriate temperature with ice. Which was a great way to start a dining experience. It ended with her asking, "would you like anything else from the menu? I greatly enjoyed my pork pad Thai; it was great portions of both the noodles and the pork. The service was fantastic, quick, but I also didn't feel like I was rushed out of the restaurant. My waitress let me hangout for a bit in the restaurant and enjoy my lunch meal as I take a long time to eat. SoHo Thai, a restaurant I've been frequenting for over five years, has undergone a significant change that has left me disappointed. First and foremost, the food has lost its appeal. It's as if the new owners have altered the recipe, resulting in a noticeable decline in quality. I'm not entirely sure if this is the cause, but it's a factor that has contributed to my dissatisfaction. Secondly, the staff has become extremely rude and unprofessional. I used to overlook this aspect because I was so enamored with the food. However, during my recent visit in mid-April, the waitress crossed a line that I had never witnessed before. She acted as if she didn't understand English, even though she clearly did when it came time to receive her tip. She was particularly rude to my husband when he asked her a simple question about the soup. She seemed completely clueless and slammed his drink on the table, which resulted in it getting all over my new and expensive purse. It's disheartening to see such behavior from a restaurant staff member, especially when they know how to speak English, especially when it comes to receiving a tip. My husband, who is more tolerant than I am, did tip her, but it's clear that her behavior is unacceptable. Such a shame seeing I used to love eating there. FYI- It was just us she was rude to I witnessed her acting rude to the table sitting next to us. In conclusion, SoHo Thai has lost its charm and has become a disappointment. Stopped by for dinner with 2 friends and were seated inside immediately. Soho Thai has a great menu, especially for those new to Thai food. Highly recommend the Thai iced tea as well! I had the drunken noodles, which were super filling but not too greasy and had a good amount of vegetables, and my table split the fried tofu appetizer, which I enjoyed. One thing I liked about Soho Thai was that it was very straightforward, but in my opinion, a good place to bring someone who has never tried Thai food and doesn't typically choose to dine out at Asian restaurants but still wants to venture a bit outside their comfort zone. The prices were fair for what was provided, and the menu has options for different kinds of moods one might be in, and the variety should accommodate dietary needs (GF, vegetarian, pescatarian, etc.) This restaurant was good and the food was tasty, but there wasn't anything about it that truly wow-ed me, if that makes sense, and I do feel like I would probably want to try another spot the next time I'm craving Thai. read more

The edamame had the right amount of salt, and it was honestly bigger than I expected. I would get that for sure. So good. Also in the curries, it had the right amount of vegetables. This is my "go to" place in Soho and view it as my personal cafeteria because I come her so often. It's easy, meaning no reservations required, it's fairly priced, and each and every dish I've ever ordered is prepared to near perfection. Just last night I ordered the duck with chili sauce and still thinking about the dish this morning. Cooked to perfection with crispy skin, a superb slightly sweet and spicy sauce on top, very tender duck, a side of nice fresh veggies and a bowl of rice...as close to perfection in a meal as you can get. On numerous occasions we get the soup dumplings which are kinda off menu and they are absolutely superb. My other favorite is the chicken in peanut sauce with a large helping of broccoli on the side. I know some here have said that waitresses are not overly friendly, but for me, they are extremely attentive and fast. They are not going to have a 10 min conversation with you about the weather, but they will do their jobs and with a smile on their faces! Love this place. read more

This place deserves a chunk load of stars! Came here on a very rainy weeknight, thinking there would be no patrons due to the weather and schedule. But to our surprise, there were quite a few parties. Moreover, it was very noticeable that the takeouts were nonstop all throughout the evening. That goes to show the solidness of this place - they seem to have great customer base; which validated our confidence to try it out. However, I was also here to support local businesses. We were immediately greeted right away. There were indoor options and really nice outdoor set up. Due to rain, we had to be inside. The safety protocols were set up in place and it's to our comfort in knowing that they took their guidelines seriously. Everything was very clean and tidy. The decor was superb and the location was also very convenient. This is actually a great lunch or dinner spot after shopping in Soho (great name, btw). The menu items were very straightforward. Tried pork chops, roti, chicken wings, clear broth noodles, and pad thai. All were very solid thai items. It also seems like overall, the entire menu was pretty decent. The curry was also very good. But one highlight that deserves some pointing out, are their mixed cocktails. They were done so nicely and their menu gave GREAT choices. We will be back again, I saw the raving reviews with the pineapple fried rice. Would like to try that out again next time, along with a few more choices. I am very glad for all these positive reviews because it means I have hit the right spot. I've eaten at this restaurant a couple of times and always enjoyed the food and service. However today when I walked in with my daughter a woman came over and just said "2 people". I asked if we could sit outside and she said nothing but made a very annoyed face and started walking outside. I asked if there was a problem with that and she didn't answer. Let me start off by saying the best thing about this place: the pork dumplings. My 5 year old was begging for soup dumplings after our visit to the Sloomoo Institute but we didn't have much time before we had to head back home. So we found this place a block away and he settled for regular fried dumplings instead. He ate 2 whole orders of them they were so good! I tried one and loved it. Perfectly crispy, lots of flavor. We also got the Papaya salad and 3 orders of the Pad See Ew but with udon noodles. All very good. The noodles were a bit over done but the flavor overall was great. The Thai iced coffee was delicious but it was a bit too sweet for my friend (I liked it). If you like sweet, it's for you. My only real complaint is that I ordered dumplings and a pad see ew to go. They forgot my dumplings even though I paid for them and by the time I got home and noticed it was too late (I live in Queens). The pad see ew wasn't sealed properly and spilled all over the bag. So dine in was great. But the takeout aspect was eh. The service was good but not anything special. I would recommend they wait until your plate is clean or ask first before they remove a plate that still has food on it. My son was still eating when the server took his plate. Had the pleasure of being amongst my friends for a gathering, and what an excellent choice to make all that happen at Soho Thai! It has been a while since my friends, and I have gone up since the pandemic hit. Therefore, it was truly a very refreshing and renewed experience to finally be out, be in the company of awesome pals and specially to enjoy good food. We came on a Sunday evening, and initially it was not packed. But the carry-outs were endless. The delivery company's employees were just in and out the door all evening. Then as the night went on, the lights dimmed, and the crowds were increasing. Luckily, I arrived early enough with my group before the seats were all filling up! As for food, I have nothing much to say except that it was incredibly delicious but also the portions were quite a bit. I had to doggy bag the rest of my dinner. That also explains why the to-go's were doing exceptionally well, all through the evening. There was also a wide variety of drinks. The desserts were too hard to resist, had the fresh mango with sticky rice. By the end of the night, was totally stuffed, but also felt like I did not have to eat for another few days. That was how much that was offered, well - it was also how much we had ordered as a group. The dinner can also be served family style, given the quantity. The only down part that I had to say was that it was just so busy, that the wait staff were stretched thin. This is not their fault. It is because the food and service and overall restaurant was just that good. The restaurant and entire staff in this establishment deserves well over 5 stars. Came here for happy hour and dinner. Covid wise - the tables are a bit close, but there wasn't anyone there when we went so it was fine. v One of the few places that are offering a happy hour so a plus one to them. They have $3 beers and $6 wines EVERYDAY from 4 - 7! The service was decent, nothing over the top and nothing bad. The massaman curry was great! The perfect amount of spice for someone who can't really eat spicy food. There was also a large amount of chicken in it, almost wish there were some additional greens in there. The curry puffs were great. They come with four and they were delicious and piping hot. For the city, this place is definitely a great spot to stop by if you are doing something in SoHo. It was a quiet area so no one was interrupting us but there are enough people going by that you have something to people watch.
