Basil chicken.
Melissa N.

I'm surprised this restaurant does not have a higher rating because I had a positive experience here. The lunch special was pretty great. Given how pricey restaurants usually are in SoHo, it was nice to discover somewhere budget-friendly. The lunch deal comes with an appetizer, main course, and a drink. I chose the clear broth soup as my starter and the basil chicken for my main dish. Both were delicious. Overall, 4 stars.

Thai Fried Rice

Truly some of the best Thai I have had anywhere in the USA! Shocked to see it is not rated higher. Came here multiple times on one trip because the food was so flavorful and delicious. Cannot recommend the fried rice or pad see eiw more highly! The staff was also very kind and made sure we were well looked after.

Crispy Vegetable Roll
Marilu S.

I went to soho Thai for lunch and I ordered the crispy vegetable rolls, as my meal I ordered a Pork Pad Thai. The vegetable roll was delightful. I greatly enjoyed my pork pad Thai; it was great portions of both the noodles and the pork. The service was fantastic, quick, but I also didn't feel like I was rushed out of the restaurant. My waitress let me hangout for a bit in the restaurant and enjoy my lunch meal as I take a long time to eat. The aesthetic of the restaurant is very nice; perfect spot for a date night, or to come with friends. I liked their dim lighting it gives off a cool vibe. The restaurant was quite busy with people having lunch and also with pickup orders. 10/10 Thai restaurant recommendation in Soho.

Perfect neighborhood staple. Happy to see this place is still here. I was in the neighborhood & stopped by for lunch. They've got a great $20 special- appetizer, entree, & drink. Had the Tom Yum Chicken Soup, Drunken Noodles, & Thai Iced Tea. Everything was delicious & I'm still thinking about that soup. Staff is friendly & attentive. Quiet & calm ambiance. Small space but still spacious enough where it doesn't feel like you're sitting on top of other people.

The lunch special here is too good, especially for nyc! An appetizer, drink & entree for about $18 that fills you up. Their service is so friendly and quick.

Udon noodle with beef

My friend and I stopped into this restaurant after not being able to get into a different restaurant up the street. We were surprised at how good the food was and will definitely be back! I got the Tom Yum soup with chicken to start and it was packed with flavor with a kick of spice. For my main, I got the udon noodle with beef which was delicious! My friend got the woon sen soup and the wok which she loved as well! Can't wait to come back to try more

Udon Drunken Noodles ( spicy), Fried Tofu

Stopped by for dinner with 2 friends and were seated inside immediately. Soho Thai has a great menu, especially for those new to Thai food. Highly recommend the Thai iced tea as well! I had the drunken noodles, which were super filling but not too greasy and had a good amount of vegetables, and my table split the fried tofu appetizer, which I enjoyed. One thing I liked about Soho Thai was that it was very straightforward, but in my opinion, a good place to bring someone who has never tried Thai food and doesn't typically choose to dine out at Asian restaurants but still wants to venture a bit outside their comfort zone. The prices were fair for what was provided, and the menu has options for different kinds of moods one might be in, and the variety should accommodate dietary needs (GF, vegetarian, pescatarian, etc.) This restaurant was good and the food was tasty, but there wasn't anything about it that truly wow-ed me, if that makes sense, and I do feel like I would probably want to try another spot the next time I'm craving Thai.

Green Thai Salad
Fawn G.

This is for delivery only* I ordered a Thai green salad with peanut dressing and a side order of lightly fried Tofu for lunch. The food was prepared safely and neatly: sauces were secured with tape and on the side to prevent spillage. The salad was fresh: greens, shredded carrots,,tomatoes, cucumbers and I was surprised to see tofu as well. The salad was delicious as was the peanut dressing. The portion size was filling for a lunch option. The fried tofu was delicious and plentiful and the sweet chili sauce ( with crushed peanuts) that accompanied them was sweet. I'm glad I found another Thai food option in Soho. I expect to dine in person in the future as the location, on Grand Street, is close to where I work.

Cashew Nut I'm allergic to

I'm allergic to cashew nuts. I asked for no cashew nuts and extra sauce, and neither was given to me. This restaurant needs to refund me..

Pad Thai ( Lunch Special )
Brooke K.

Cozy Thai restaurant located in soho with one of the best lunch specials in the area. The Thai food here is consistently good. The lunch special has a lot of options to choose and you get an appetizer, drink and entree all for $15.95 and the portions are all a good size. I ordered the pad Thai which is really good, the Thai tea which is also really good and the papaya salad. Overall I left full and feeling good! Service is also fast so whether it's lunch or dinner you won't be waiting forever for your food.

Food is very flavorful and affordable. A variety of dishes to choose from. The service was fast and efficient. The ambiance was mellow. Dimly lit and comfortable. Would definitely make a trip back here!

Are the curries vegan (or can they be prepared vegan)? (Many Thai places use fishes or other sea creatures in the curries for "flavor").…

Unfortunately, we use fish sauce to make curry. Sorry about that.

I first ordered the crispy spring rolls, which were very good. For my main I had the Massaman Curry. Now folks, this is my favorite curry of all time -- actually one of my favorite foods of all time -- and while it's common in LA where I used to live, it's not as common where I live now, in the Bay Area. And the restaurants that do carry it usually do not make it right and it's not very good. I am used to Massaman in the traditional preparation where it's more like a beef stew made with chunks of beef and needs to cook overnight. When done right it is the most aromatic curry ever -- it's almost like an aphrodisiac! -- and the beef comes out oh so tender. Usually if places have this curry but then offer a choice of protein, then it generally is not cooked properly, and that is actually how they prepare it at SaiTong. But because of such great reviews I decided to take a chance and try it. Well, let me tell you, it was definitely not the norm...it was absolutely delicious! I had it with chicken (they serve breast as default), and the chicken soaked up the curry really nicely. I also asked for there to be no onions, which I think alters the flavor of a curry too much. It does include the traditional potatoes and peanuts, and the potatoes were fine and cut into nice little chunks, the peanuts actually were thrown in raw.. what I think is the more traditional way which is to actually burn the peanuts a little bit, but that's okay, it didn't take down the dish any. Their brown rice is of the very dark kind, which I like, and goes so well with the curry. Service was wonderful from the bartender but was also provided by the rest of the staff and everyone was so nice. I left there feeling so satisfied, and cannot wait to go back and try some other dishes.

Fortunately, there were plenty of options near my Midtown hotel that offered quick delivery. Dagg Thai was just around the corner and had solid Yelp ratings. Rather than creating an online account, I called the restaurant directly and placed my order. They estimated delivery would take about 25 minutes. Less than 20 minutes later, the food was waiting for me in the hotel lobby. I ordered: * Cashew Nuts with Shrimp -- Bell peppers, onions, scallions, cashews, and dried chilies. * Dumplings -- Mixed shrimp and pork served with a soy vinaigrette dipping sauce. The Cashew Nuts with Shrimp had a flavorful, light sauce with just the right amount of heat. I really enjoyed it. My only disappointment was that the shrimp were battered and fried; I would have preferred grilled or pan-seared shrimp. The dumplings were more like shoo-mai than traditional dumplings. They were a bit dense but still flavorful and satisfying. Considering the quick delivery, the food arrived piping hot, and the excellent Cashew Nuts dish, this was an easy four-star meal.

We started with the curry puffs and satay buns, both of which were easy wins. No complaints, I would happily order them again. The Khao Soi was the highlight of my meal. Rich, comforting, and packed with flavor. I love when restaurants get this right. They also do super thin noodles in the khao soi which is a plus for me. I also tried a little bit of the crab fried rice which was also incredible. I also ordered the lychee mocktail. The drink itself was fairly average, but it came with a lychee mochi that completely stole the show. I honestly enjoyed the mochi more than the drink itself. Overall, this is just good, no-nonsense Thai food. Nothing feels overly gimmicky. The restaurant focuses on solid flavors, a beautiful space, and warm hospitality.
