They messed my food up and refused to give me the workers name. Once I decided to let them know ow my food was messed up they wanted to give me free food and a refund however that's not the point. I lost my appetite because they ruined my food. Maybe if I spoke Spanish they would be able to understand me correctly. If you cannot get to Pomchos, Someburros is the next best thing. Owned by the same family who owns Poncho's, I always get the Poncho Villa. It's not quite as good as Ponchos, but it is still extremely great. Treat yourself to their salsa and chips and endless soft drinks. read more

YUMMY! I've had Someburros a few times at work, the party platters and chips and salsa. I also frequent Poncho's which is supposedly owned by the same family. I finally made my way in today! A very friendly employee helped me navigate the menu and order. I chose a machaca beef chimichanga enchilada style with a small side of rice and beans. I was told that if you're ordering to-go you also get free chips but must request them or they won't give them to you. At ~5pm on a Friday I placed my order to go and it was ready in less than 5 minutes, I was impressed by the speed. I like the to-go containers they use instead of styrofoam boxes. I will say I wish it came with more complimentary chips but I'm not complaining! Food was all really good even after eating it 45 minutes after I got it. It did taste very similar to Poncho's so this is a great option for me. This was even a bit cheaper than Poncho's as I believe Poncho's didn't provide free chips and salsa the last time I ordered to-go. They do to-go margaritas but unfortunately they were all out today. We showed up 45 minutes before closing on a Sunday and despite the soon approaching closing time, we received great service. The server/cashier was accommodating and kind. This place used to be good 10 years ago. Now it's not the same. Finally had enough today after placing a to go order. I kindly asked for extra salsa and she said sure. Checked my bag as I was almost home and it's just one little cup of salsa. I've got 3 people eating, what are we supposed to do share it? If you don't ask for extra salsa they give you tiny little cups instead. But if you dine in they give you an entire bottle, I don't get it. JUST visited this establishment. First timer. I ordered a crunchy chicken taco and a asada chimichanga. I can see why they list their crunchy tacos as FAMOUS crunchy tacos. The are delightfully delicious. I devoured it before deciding to do this review. Ha! The asada chimichanga (as pictured) looks great. Would ask for more cheese next time. As for the staff/crew: super friendly. Being from Southern California, I look for diversity everywhere I go here in Arizona. And though on this visit I was the only African American in SomeBurros, the staff was kind and friendly. Will return for the tacos for sure. read more

We had ordered two beef taco platters for pickup yesterday on Father's Day at 5:30pm. The ordered had been placed online the day before we needed the food. We got there at 5:50pm and our platters were not even started. The kitchen kept telling us the platters were almost ready for 50 minutes. The truth finally came out at 6:40 we got our money back because they never even started making our platters. The manager should be fired. She kept yelling at the staff the whole time we were there. We almost left and went somewhere else because it was a strange set up. You order at the counter and find a seat. They only have frozen margaritas in those carnival type dispensers (ugh) and beer. They brought out chips and salsa and then the great part happen. Our food arrived. Oh my goodness. Huge and delicious. 3 of us had burritos and 1 had chimichangas which looked like egg rolls. We order pickup from here several times a month. My son LOVES their bean burritos and the churros. My wife always gets a bean and cheese burro enchilada style with red sauce. I try different things but if I have a usual it's the breakfast burrito. Is this the most authentic place? No, but they are still tasty. Calling in an order is easy and the drive up pick up is easy. Most of the staff are friendly, once in a while you can catch someone not at their best but that's not a common occurrence. We will certainly continue enjoying our burros! read more

We hired Someburros to fully cater our son's rehearsal dinner for 160 people. We used their full service catering. It was amazing! They had 4 servers. They brought their own tables, table clothes warmers, food of course, and plates, napkins and plastic silverware. Literally all we did was point to where they were to set up and they took it from there. It goes without saying that the food is always amazing and the taco bar was a huge hit even for the guests we had who were gluten free! Everyone raved about the food! Then they cleaned up at the end, and other than a few extras trays of leftovers they cleaned everything up and left the area as clean as when they arrived!!! I will ALWAYS use them again!!! I have gone to Someburros for 20+ years because the food is always good and it is usually pretty quick. Recently, I have noticed that the service has slipped quite a bit. My wife and I were running errands today and stopped in for lunch. When we got there, I was told that they were out of beef (something that probably should have been on a sign on the door) and we placed our order. As we waited for our food, I noticed that they started telling people that it would be a 25 minute wait for food. We received no such warning and waited for 30 minutes + to get our food. I was in the process of demanding a refund (after all, I had to get back to work) when our food came out. I know that they were busy with the holiday, but the place doesnt seem to run as efficiently or be as well staffed as it used to be. The food was still good, but I could have gone to any number of better places given the time that it took for us to order and eat. I hope I have just caught them at bad times but I think that Taquitos Jalisco is going to be my go-to, quick Mexican place. read more

I've eaten here a few times over the year but it's a very rare occasion when we do. This evening, we decided to call in a order for the drive through pick up. It was easy to place the order - they currently have two options, call in or online. We called the order in. The drive through line was very long but it moved quickly and they had a few employees coming in and out to drop food to cars to make sure the line was going quick. Fast forward .... the food is home but they forgot the side of rice and beans with one of the combos. I called back and reached someone who seemed inconvenienced I was calling in to let them know of the issue. She didn't want to give me a credit and kept asking for me to come back and pick up the rice and beans .... even after I explained that the rest of our food would be cold by the time we did so. She placed me on the line with a manager who was very quick to help. She apologized for the issue and immediately issued the credit to my card and texted me a receipt on the spot. She asked to verify that I received the receipt as I was confirming I had received it, she informed me she credited the entire combo! At this point it was too late because the credit was already issued but I advised her that was very nice but not expected as I did receive the main dish of the combo (a burrito). She politely said it was their fault and that she hopes I don't have this issue again with them. Way to go Someburros, you definitely redeemed yourself. As for the food. I got a chicken burrito with half green half red sauce and it was very good. The side of green chili beef was full of flavor as well! Definitely would get both items again. The corn green chili tamale was disappointing. We wouldn't order those again ... next time instead we would probably opt for fish tacos. The order came with free chips and salsa. The salsa was very tasty. One of my family members got the Rod Burro but said that he would t order it again. Apparently it was an odd mix up of flavors (I did not personally taste it). He said it was definitely filling though, they have big burritos. The cinnamon crisps are a tasty sweet to polish off the meal. I did see complaints from other review about the horchata but we found it to be fresh and light. Overall I would go back again. It's not necessarily "authentic" but it's for sure decent drive through for a quick filling meal. read more

Third location I've been to in the area and the worst meal by far. It makes me sad because I love Someburros. After work I was craving taquitos. I'm heading to Someburros! Gave my order for the combo plate quickly and sat outside to wait. (Outdoor dining is a plus in beautiful weather. ) I munched on chips and salsa before my meal arrived. No issue there...good as usual. Then my plate came... Everything looked like it has been zapped too long in the microwave. The rice had good flavor but was crunchy in spots. The portion seemed smaller too. I dug into the taquitos. What? Where's the chicken? It looked like a rolled fried tortilla with threads of chicken inserted. It was practically nonexistent in one of them. The beans dried out too. Overall a disappointing meal and not loving it today. With a drink, my meal was almost $15. Gotta be inflation or the Covid supply chain thing impacting everything here. I think I could do this meal cheaper at home. Maybe not as the delicious-ness Someburros is known for, but I'll take my chances. I hope things improve at this location in the future. It's a community staple. read more

Pretty much an update from a year ago. Been going to Someburro's on Mill since they opened in the mid-80's. Excellent shredded beef tacos, wonderful hot sauce, very good quesadilla's. The absolute best is the green chili. Most of the time the food is really well cooked, maybe one time in ten it's a bit over-done. I will say I don't like their chimichanga; but that's about it. My only angst is that prices have gone from low-mid to mid-moderately above mid-range, while portion size has decreased. My supposition is this is a "Fast Casual" place that has a number of workers; and the new min wage is forcing them to increase prices and slightly reduce portion size. Ergo, the four stars. Still, a surprisingly good fast casual Mexican restaurant. read more

This visit, I just ordered a chicken burro at the counter, 27 minutes later I went back to counter and asked if I could cancel the order, I was tired of waiting. The manager said "it just came up", when actually it looks like it was just siting there. It was cold, probably sat on that counter for 20+ minutes. They seemed to be focused on drive-thru pick up customers and were not paying much attention to in-person diners. I'll still go back someday, maybe. read more

Someburro's food is generally excellent, especially their magnificent green chile. Love the tacos and Mexican pizza as well. Their chips and hot sauce are basic, but tasty as heck. Portion sizes seem to have shrunk a bit over the years, but this is still one of my favorite fast Mexican food places. Why the 4 starts instead of 5 ? Their employees are polite, but man. Talk about the International low IQ Society. They used to have friendly, polite, and knowledgable staff. They're still friendly and polite, maybe not quite as fast as they used to be, but the food is still served pretty quickly. But, talk about being none to bright. This last time I had to ask for the chips and salsa right after ordering, and that's fair enough I guess. But, the guy was confused as to what I was asking for... Went to the Someburros on Recker in Mesa. Got the #1. The cheese enchilada was so hard I couldn't cut through it. No Modelo on tap. Had the Negro in the bottle. The taco was good. Normally a 4 or 5 rated experience. Not so much this trip. read more

Their food is tasty, especially their green chili burro served fundido style, omg. The only downside of this location is their drive thru....the drive thru is in an awkward location and makes it a little difficult to use. Otherwise, it's great! read more
