Very nice family cozy styled restaurant. Very relaxed atmosphere from not only the staff but the patrons. Makes for a nice experience for breakfast. Go inside and seat yourself, menu has a lot of items. We picked the Sampler as we not only love to get eggs but French toast and pancakes. Service was very quick. They use a coffee station so it allows you to choose your style of coffee. Staff was very aware and intuitive to the customers as they were all over helping everyone. Finally, their portion control was great. Enough to fill you up and not enough to over stuff you, kudos to the chef.

The service was friendly and quick. The restaurant is adorable on the inside. Totally retro decor with all-you-can-drink coffee. The menu is simple and enticing to order from. I love this place. I will definitely come back.

Come here for breakfast with my family anytime we're in the area. It's a great spot for breakfast with unique specials daily! Loved the sausage and gravy (although I do wish it was on a biscuit and not bread). The Carrot Cake Waffle specialty they had was outstanding. If they have a special that interests you try it! The service is really friendly although they do tend to be super packed on weekends. The ambiance of this restaurant is what really makes it stand out I love the cozy feel and decorations on the wall.

Grinch special French toast. Double chocolate banana bread with cream cheese glaze, chocolate sauce and bananas. So good!

We moved away and have been gone for 7 years. Coming back I knew that somewhere in time was at the top of my list for places to go back to. It's still just as wonderful. The specials change weekly, and I keep an eye on their Facebook page for when they are posted(typically later Friday), and plan if I'm going to go the next week based on what I see. I have noticed their waffle specials sell out and are off the board by the time I come in, even if it's a Tuesday, and that's a bummer, but I'm normally wanting their French toast anyway! In the two months we've been back, we have gone twice. First I got chai maple pumpkin bread French toast, and today I got the grinch special French toast which was double chocolate banana bread, with cream cheese and chocolate drizzle and banana slices. Both were amazing! I always get a meat side, like bacon or corn beef hash to break up the sweet with something salty. The service is always amazing. Personable and kind. Food always comes out quickly. Inside is seat yourself, which can get a little wonky when it's full, but we typically find a spot pretty quick! They are also no longer cash only! They now take cards!

Hear ye hear ye-please report to Somewhere in Time Cafe for a delicious breakfast with friendly service and allergy friendly options. Do not bypass this option, I can't believe I was not aware of this adorable place before today. We had a change in plans and decided to go in another direction for the day and we're starving. I quickly googled gluten-free breakfast and found this shining light in a food desert area. She quickly outlined the gluten-free options and told us that she would avoid cross-contamination. Upon arriving there is plenty of parking. There's also a lot of seating. We received the extensive menu quickly. There are so many options! My Kid opted for the gluten-free toast which was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of powdered sugar on it. It was accompanied by a nice size of crispy bacon. It was approved and the plate was cleaned! I ordered the veggie scramble with sourdough toast. It was delicious! It had a ton of different vegetables in there but it was a good balance of vegetables and eggs. Sometimes when restaurants make vegetables scrambles it gets too watery but somehow the cook avoided that. The toast was grilled which was interesting But it was fantastic. I honestly can't think of anything negative to say about our experience. I really hope our next visit there is just as fabulous as this one was. I'd like to commend the staff for offering gluten-free options that are actually cooked separately, a lot of restaurants don't realize that if you cook gluten-free pancakes or French toast with the regular options then that makes it not gluten-free. Really appreciate the knowledge and attention!

Small but nice atmosphere. All the food was great with the grits taking the cake. We had a mix of breakfast and lunch, with everything coming out hot at the same time. Multiple waitresses/servers checked on us at good intervals.

Food was amazing! Love the self service coffee bar. They make their own freshly brewed coffee, which was soo good. It's a cozy diner vibe, felt like we were at home

With its Latin American focus, I felt like the Peruvian chicken would be the best bet. Plus it was listed first on the menu (unlike concert setlists the best isn't usually saved for last - what's the deal with The Killers opening with Mr. Brightside? - but I digress). This was superb, partly thanks to the salsa verde, but also due to the excellent basil bread. I also enjoyed the mint lemonade. The local customers, like many Yelpers, raved about the Chinese BBQ sandwich and said I should get it next time. I had a moment of indie-rock snobbery and thought I can get Chinese sandwiches anytime in NYC, but I was curious about the emphatic praise. For a second I pretended I couldn't possibly get a second sandwich. So with some self-delusion combining "I didn't eat breakfast" and "these nice people told me to get another one" I got the BBQ sandwich. It, too, was excellent, with a perfect fusing of ham, bread and sauce.

There were a lot of intriguing options to choose from. I had the chilaquiles ($15) and a Cacio Pepe doughnut ($4). The chilaquiles had corn tortilla chips, salsa Verde, salsa Macha, cotija, white onion, cilantro, and a fried egg. The chips appeared to be homemade, and they were tremendous along with the salsa Verde and Macha. There was a nice kick to the salsas and a perfect crunch from the chips. However, it just felt like the dish was mostly chips. I felt like more toppings could be added or an additional egg. The fried egg was also a little overcooked, guess when ordering, we could have specified how we wanted it to be cooked. The doughnut was okay. The sourdough base was very solid, but essentially just a lot of cheese on top. I was not sure what to expect regarding this type of doughnut, but this was the least optimal choice. Will I go back? I would.

I was in Mystic on New Year's Eve morning, killing time in between food activities, when I saw…read morePasta Fresca & Piadina in a Yelp search result. Its grinders looked damn good. Since Pasta was in the name, I figured it might be more of a market than a grinder shop and I decided to visit. It was actually more of a grinder shop that sold some fresh pasta and sauces and things that you would expect a grinder shop to have. I honestly thought about walking out without buying anything, but I kept thinking about that awesome looking Italian Trio (basically like an Italian Combo) grinder. I decided to order a small, take some pics and a couple of bites, and save the rest for later since I had lunch plans. This grinder was my ideal Italian Combo. First off, the small was huge. Full size at most places. I ate it over the course of two days. I ordered it with lettuce, tomato, banana peppers, cucumbers, provolone, Oil and Vinegar, Salt and Pepper, and Mayo. The three meats were pepperoni, Genoa salami and capicola. The bread was good, fresh and up to the job of holding the ingredients. There were about six slices of meats, but they folded them around the inside of the bun (cut on one side) so you were really getting about 12 layers in each bite. And the inside was stuffed with the veggies and other toppings. So stuffed that the toppings fell out as you were taking bites. But that was actually great from my perspective, because you could just pick up the fallen toppings and put them exactly where you were going to bite next. I've been to a lot of highly rated grinder shops in CT. I don't think I've had a better Italian combo. The ingredients were all great. It was a well constructed sandwich. You got bits and pieces of most of the stuff in each bite. Ingredients were in the right proportion. It was salty. Acidic. Juicy. Great contrasting textures. This was a text book Italian Combo Grinder. Now if you live near Mystic, getting a grinder from Pasta Fresca is a no brainer because you can take it home. If you're not from the Mystic area, there was a bit of seating. Seating may be hit or miss though. In any event, if you can figure out where you're going to eat the Italian Trio, you're going to love it. Can't believe I've never heard of this place. 5 Stars
