First time coming there and plan on coming more weekly! Not from the area, but worth the drive and visit! Service was phenomenal, as well as the food! Very clean environment and I love that she gave me background on the pastries. Super filling and yummy! Definitely recommend

I absolutely love Sonsons! I've visited the Mesa location a couple times over the last few years but today was my first visit to the Gilbert location. The employees are so warm and welcoming at both stores and the food is exactly the same- a great spot for some comfort food. Got the chicken pot pie pasty today and it was a little dry but still absolutely fabulous and comforting. If you're looking for some warm, handmade food made with love, come support a lovely local business and show Sonsons some love!

Best pasties in Arizona! Julie was so kind and helpful, giving us history lessons along the way. Jane was very friendly and working hard making the pasty twist beautiful. The food is made fresh, and they offer frozen pasties and fruit pies to take away for later. 11/10 experience and will absolutely be coming back again!

If you have a moment, I'd encourage you to stop by Sonsons Pasty Company in Gilbert or Mesa. I placed an online order today and stopped by to pick up. Simple storefront but very nice staff. It's a great sign when the lady tells you one moment she has to wash her hands AND she was already wearing gloves. They appreciated my crazy and small talk. Was able to pick up my order without issue. When I went to tip another $1 the lady reminded me I already tipped on my online order, again the small stuff. Great integrity to mention that. The extra $1 was intentional, great service! You can get these frozen, pre baked or hot too! Why not travel with a pasty. :) Support local & shop small business when possible.

Omg as a Brit here in Arizona this is a total blast from home! Beard Meats food did their food challenge at the other location but totally worth the visit to either location. 10/10 would return and get more food from home freshly prepared here in USA.

The pasty's here are most excellent! Decent price, not as massive and overly priced as the ones from the other pasty place in the valley. Plenty of variety, and even some desert and breakfast options as well.

Cooked for an hour by their directions Perfect!

It's like walking into a throw back time & also like your grandma's house. Dim lighting & cool light fixtures. It's super relaxing & chill. Our server came over right away. She was friendly, helpful & knowledgeable. She provided great service. Hubby got a Day Drinker draft beer & I got red sangria. Both of which were good. We ordered the bread to share. Hubby got the reuben & steamed spinach. I got the royale with cheese. The bread is really good. It's thick & soft. You get several pieces. Hubby loved the Reuben & the 1000 island dressing. He also liked the spinach. I liked my royale as well. The pastries are large & filled with ingredients. I couldn't even eat all of a half. The ranch dressing was really good too. We had our other halves of our pastries for lunch today. We warmed them in the oven & they were great. Great service, drinks & food!

The potato, leek, stilton soup was absolutely fantastic. I don't like blue cheese, but it doesn't taste like it at all. It's just a perfect, creamy, thick, cheesy potato onion soup with super fluffy and thick cuts of bread. The pasties are huge and can easily please two people. The Guinness Steak Stew was ok, it didn't have as deep of a flavor as I was hoping it would. My brother got the Mexican style one though and it tasted like a perfect chimichanga. The sausage was plenty and very tasty, though I'm not a big fan of the sage. Potatoes were good too, but I think under seasoned. Didn't taste the garlic at all really. I will be back for the vibes, and I would like to try more for their pasties (there's like 40 to choose from).

Reservations were easy to make online and were confirmed quickly but beware that your confirmation email might get filtered into your spam folder which is what happened to mine. Our table was ready and waiting for us. We had the afternoon tea for three which included a varied selection of finger sandwiches, sweet treats, and scones. Two pots of tea are included and we chose the pudding tea and the gingerbread tea. Both teas were delicious and the gingerbread tea was nice in that it's caffeine free. All the food selections were fresh and fantastic. I would venture to say that I liked the food selections even more than at the previous location! While this new spot isn't as lavish as the golf resort it was previously at, the interior is still charming. Service was very friendly and we were checked on as needed.

SENTRY - WATCHING RESTAURANTS…read more George and Dragon Pub 4240 N. Central Avenue Phoenix, 85012 Companion and I were hungry and I had a craving for English style fish and chips. Where else to go but to a pub! We arrived at 6:40 in the evening and seated ourselves as is the custom. While many of the tables are hightops, we chose a regular table off to the side. First was an appetizer of Curried Chips along with NA Guinness to wash it down. The chips were like mashed potatoes in the center and crispy on the outside. Along with the authentic curry to dip them in, it was deliciousness on a plate. On to the main dishes. Companion ordered Bangers and Mash. Excellent tasting sausages served over mashed potatoes in traditional style. Companion loved it but was unable to finish it. For myself, I had my Fish and Chips that I was craving. 2 large pieces of cod perfectly fried in a beer batter coating. Served over a pile of perfect chips and accompanied by malt vinegar I was back in the U.K. Only problem was that it was served with a side of English peas instead of mushy peas like one would get overseas, but one can't be too choosy. Of course, we had to have dessert. There is always room for dessert! Companion ordered Toffee Pudding with Hot Custard sauce and I ordered the Bread Pudding. The toffee was chewy and sticky as it should be and the hot custard sauce added just the right touch. My bread pudding was in dense slices as is proper in the U.K.. I stole some of companions Hot Custard to put on it and it was wonderful. This was an excellent dinner which brought back memories of pubs in the U.K. The only thing missing off the menu was a Ploughman's Lunch, but not enough people would order it I think. Service and cleanliness were up to par. It's worth noting that on Sundays they have Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding. I can't wait! 5 stars

Again nothing to write home about. If you are looking for a good drink at a reasonable price. This is the place. We had five gin and tonics for $29 bucks. Not bad at all. As the game ended, it was announced over the intercom that customers were free to take the flags hanging from the ceiling. Naturally, people began grabbing them. A man with a gray beard, who claimed to be one of the owners of the bar, started yelling, "Stop acting like animals!" at the customers. There is a respectful and professional way to address people without insulting them, especially when everyone was simply responding to what had just been announced. Otherwise, no one would have started taking the flags in the first place. He then walked over to my fiancé and forcefully ripped a flag out of my fiancé's hands, nearly knocking her to the ground. He also grabbed another customer from behind in a highly inappropriate manner and pulled him down, putting him at risk of falling. It was a very disappointing experience, especially since I visited this pub 5-6 times throughout the World Cup and had always enjoyed coming here until this happened.

They also have quite a few cocktails to choose from. We ordered the pretzel, wings, crispy cod sliders, corned beef sliders, Philly cheesesteak fries, and the Shepherd's Pasty. Everything was really tasty and well balanced, nothing too sweet or too salty. Our favorite was definitely the Pasty. The lamb was cooked perfectly and the crust was flaky and so good. This was our first time here and it was such a nice surprise. Cozy spot, good food, good drinks, and friendly service. We'll definitely come back to try more.

Sonsons owner and her mom lived in Cornwall, perfecting their recipe for their products. You can tell you're getting the real deal here. This location on Brown is in a very nondescript spot. They don't have a large variety of choices like the "famous" pasty restaurant in town - they offer about ten here while the famous place has more than four times as many. Please note that Sonsons are about half the price though which certainly pleases me. I've bought pasties like the Cornish Cheezy (ground beef, sausage, cheese, garlic herb sauce), the Steak + Cheese (steak, cheese, potato, rutabaga, onion), or the Chicken Green Chili (chicken, potato, cheese, green chili.) All have been excellent but my favorite of all is the Cornish Cheezy. I highly recommend throwing in some extra gravy for either .50 or $1. We take ours home and bake them for dinner. You can also buy them frozen. The other option is to eat there at one of the small tables they have but honestly, it's not really a restaurant vibe here. Get yourself out of cooking tonight and bring home some pasties.
