Great place to make your personal hotpot and/or stirfry. There are 5 different ways to prepare your fixings which you start off with a bowl and grab all the things you want cooked in it. Be careful! It is weighed by the pound, so it can get pretty pricey the more your eyes are hungry. There are other things on the menu to order if you don't want to do a personal pot. The waitress was very helpful on helping what to do and how to order. Nice big restaurant that can fit a lot of people inside with a cool vibe playing all kinds of asian pop music. Overall cool experience!

If you've been wanting to try Malatang in Dallas, Sorimmara is the place to visit! I visited for dinner around 9pm with a group of 6 people. It wasn't busy and they had plenty of tables. Once we got our table, we went to the self serving station where you grab a bowl and fill it up with everything you want for your stir fry dry noodle or soup. You are required to get at least 1lb of food so be aware!!! They had an array of meat, veggies, and noodles in stock. Once you fill up your bowl, you take it to the cash register to weigh where your bowl is priced per lb. You also choose what mala flavor you want for your bowl. After you pay, you can go to the self serve sauce bar to make your own dipping sauce if you would like. Their rose mala xiang guo is my favorite! It's a stir fry with a cream sauce that is packed full of flavorful! Their malatang soup is also delicious; both have a strong szechuan flavor. I love spicy food and their spicy lvl 4 is pretty hot. Next time, I will stick to a spicy lvl 3 as it's more comfortable to eat. I've also tried their tomato xiang guo and it reminds me of spaghetti - strong tomato flavor (good but not a favorite). We also tried their cream shrimp guobaorou. The shrimp was nice and crispy and came with a sweet mayo sauce. I got a little over 1 lb of food and it was enough for me to take home as leftovers. Overall, the food was very tasty and I would recommend trying them for malatang! They are open 7 days a week and until 11pm!

I finally tried mala here and I loved it! I love that they have so many various ingredients that you can choose for your own mala soup. I would come back with my friends here!

One of my favorite new restaurants in the Carrollton area! This was my first time trying a Korean-style Mala and it was great. You build your own Mala bowl (price depends on weight) and there is a huge variety of veggies, meat, and toppings for you put into your bowl. From there, you tell the person at the counter what Mala flavor you'd like + the spice level. The staff is very friendly and offered suggestions and modifications when needed. Aside from the bowls, there are lots of appetizers and side dishes to choose from - we got the tteokbokki and it was great with a good portion. The restaurant itself has ample seating, so you should be able to get a table no issue. Highly recommend especially if you like spicy foods!

My family and I went to this new Korean style malatang restaurant in Korea town. You pick out what veggies, meats, and other items you want in a bowl and then tell them how you want to cook it and what spice level you want. They charge you based on weight. My goal was to get the bare minimum of 1 pound and ended up getting 1.5 pounds... so make sure you keep weighing to make sure you don't go over by a lot i got the rosé mala xiang guo. My mom got the jjajang mala xiang guo and my dad got the regular malatang. The malatang is soup based while the xiang guo is stir fried. They do add numbing peppers so that kind of threw me off a bit. Overall I liked the rosé one the most. I really recommend the curry ball and sausages. The tteokbokki (rice cakes) were just ok to me. They also have a sauce bar where you can make your own sauce or any of their premade recommendations. Overall I thought it was good but I prefer a place where you don't pay by weight. The portions are huge though (maybe bc I went over on my target weight oops), you can definitely share one bowl between 2 ppl

Their soup base was good. Medium Spicy is not spicy at all.

The soup broth was good! We walked in and they walked us through the process of grabbing a big clear bowl to fill up whatever we would like in our soup broth. Then you weigh the bowl at the end of the line and they will bring out the hot pot to our table. One bit of an inconvenience is the Bunsen Burner is not hot enough and doesn't stay burning long enough. I would prefer this to be a buffet at the amount of money we paid for 2 people.

음식도 너무 괜찮았고 직원분들도 너무 친절하게 잘 해주셨어요! 맵기도 정할수 있어서 매운거 못드시는분들도 맛있게들실것 같아요! The food was so good, and the staff were so kind and nice! You can choose the spiciness, so I think those who can't eat spicy food will enjoy it!

I stopped by Sorimmara on a whim after seeing they were finally open. I got the malatang, which you build yourself at the bar and pay for by weight, as well as the cream shrimp dish since they were offering 50% off if you followed their Instagram. The soup base was super good, it was perfectly spicy at level 2. The malatang has peanuts by default, but they have a sign by the register disclosing this and stating they can be removed. I appreciated this as someone who has food allergies because it can be tricky navigating menus sometimes. The atmosphere was lively, they played kpop and had music videos projecting on the wall. The service was super great, I was promptly seated and was frequently checked in on during my meal. Staff also went out of their way to show me the different recipes listed on the wall of the sauce bar, and showed me how to control the flame on the soup. Overall I had a great visit and can't wait to come back with friends!

Have you heard about the best MALA in the lone star state, and it's located here in the DFW? Come on down to SORIMMARA, we were the first few customers to enter for soft opening, and it was spectacular! If you don't have any special plans this weekend, come on down to K town Carrollton and try out this delicious cuisine. Fantastic staff, in a laid back environment. Bring your friends and family, you won't be disappointed!

Probably one of the best mala I had in a long time. Highly recommend this place. The staff were nice, and the mala was super fresh.

As we were waiting, we noticed that 4-5 tables were done eating and paid their bills. All got up and left, the staff quickly cleaned the tables. The cleaned tables were empty for another 15 minutes. The lady that took our names down took a while to call the next customers. Seems like we were waiting just to wait...she sat one party down and waited another 10 minute to sit the next group... anyways, after we waited for a good 40 minutes, we were finally called to be seated. Sat down and was immediately served with water and took our order down. Time for the food review: Chicken popcorn - nice crisp and texture, but lacking flavor. Felt like it needed a dipping sauce. Pork lard rice - disappointing, bland Pork intestine with green mustard - this dish was okay.. Crispy garlic salted fish - fish was nicely fried and flavor was good. Probably the best dish so far Crispy pork chop - this is the reason why we came here.. we wanted to find a dish like May Ice cream. Unfortunately, this was a huge disappointment. The pork chop was extremely salted. From the skin to the pork itself. Walnut shrimp - this dish was foul. Who puts sprinkles on the side?! Tasted like I was eating an ice cream shop. The shrimp was also dry. Overall, not worth going and waiting. Food was lacking.

Came during the soft opening in September 2025 with excited expectations based on what we've heard, hoping to find a new go to Taiwanese spot. Unfortunately we didn't find what we were looking for. I admit this was the soft opening and things may improve, and for their sake I hope they do. Biggest issues for us were lack of flavor in the meat and multiple proteins being overcooked. The sauces they used had the flavor but it seems like the meat just wasn't given the time to marinate because the meat itself was bland. That coupled with proteins being a bit dry from being overcooked and you don't have a good combo. If they can tweak their prep process to let the meat marinate then it would solve most of the problems though. The best dish was the fried pork chop rice by far. A bit on the sweeter side so it just depends on how you like it. The bok choy it came with was basically raw though had more crunch than the pork chop. Service was also a mixed bag. The server was super nice and helped give us recs but it just seemed like they were still getting the hang of working in a restaurant. A glass of water got some food in it so the server took it away but they never brought us a new one. Again, soft opening so I give that some grace, but food has to be more on point for a new restaurant to make it. So all in all, there are definitely some kinks to work through for them. Normally I wouldn't write a review for soft opening but given that there are old reviews here plus food quality missed the mark more than I think it should've, I think people on Yelp should get a heads up.

This place is absolutely made for a group outing, and we're already planning to come back with a group to take full advantage. The food was a delight. The Singapore noodles had this wonderful curry flavor that I absolutely loved, and the combo fried rice was just as satisfying. We also ordered the Peking duck (P1 on the menu). It was good, though not quite as flavorful on its own as we'd hoped. That said, once you load it up with the hoisin, cucumber, and spring onions, it all comes together beautifully. The bao buns that came with it were soft and delicious, honestly a highlight. We also sipped on hot jasmine tea throughout, which was the perfect, refreshing complement to the whole meal. A solid spot with great vibes, tasty dishes, and room to grow on us even more with a return visit.
