Wow...what an unsuspected Cajun Treat here in St. Louis! Here to watch our college kiddo play volleyball and had some downtime to check out St. Louise, MO & I'm sooo glad we did! Big foodie fam and it didn't take long to get to Bogarts bbq and while it was good, we hit the market and found this incredible GEM! Soulard's Cajun Corner had a smell that drew us in and there was a reason there was a small line. The food was authentic to Cajun cuisine, the prices are super reasonable, people were grabbing a drink while the amazing staff prepared our orders. Super friendly staff, customers and the food stood up! I ordered the gumbo and holy moly how generous are they!?!?! Huge chunks of skillfully seasoned chicken, sausage and okra cooked perfectly with the classic dish I was hoping for but has their signature in those spices! Just the perfect amount of kick that does NOT hide the flavors allowing each ingredient to be the stars of the show! I mean it when I say this is the place you drive to! I was so stuffed with 7 out of 10 bbq from Bogarts and was a little disappointed (separate review) & The Food Gods looked down upon me and got me to this place that was just dang perfect! Soulard's is the place locals come for a reason and they love their out of town visitors for sure!!! To see all the amazing diverse dishes everyone carried out was like watching a movie about the Food Network's best kept secrets. The smiles were everywhere! Get here and get after it ya'll.... I regret hvg to go back home to Orlando tomorrow and can't show this place to my kids and friends! Incredible!!!!

This restaurant is located inside the Soulard Farmer's Market. I had read this before going and planned to check it out. As soon as we entered the market in the main area I could smell the food and it smelled delicious. I shopped around for a bit and go this to go. It's important to know there wasn't any seating around the restaurant, I'm not sure if there is seating somewhere in the market. They had specials of the day including chicken and dumplings. They have all your cajun classics of gumbo, jambalaya, red beans & rice, etc. It's hard to pick just one! But I really needed to, so I went with the red beans and rice. I ordered the regular size and it was large - I ate it for 2 meals. It was good, but I like mine really spicy and there wasn't much spice to it. I added jalepenos to mine at home. The sausage was in very large chunks and I cut those down to make them more bite size as well. That said, I'd still order it again and I'd like to try more of their offerings.

The seafood gumbo was extremely bland and it contained a lot of imitation ingredients.

It was pretty busy inside and on the patio, so definitely recommend reservations. The staff was very friendly and helped us pick out good options. We were celebrating my friend's birthday so they gave him a free cookie! So kind of them and such a good cookie!! Lots of big chocolate chunks. We also ordered a slice of almond polenta cake and it was fantastic. Overall, a great little spot with good service and food, so I'll have to come back to try their lunch menu!

The inside is small, maybe around 20 seats, though I think there's an outdoor area too. We got seated after about 15 to 20 minutes for a party of 3 with no reservation. The menu is simple but really well done and very vegetarian friendly. I got the butternut squash soup which was so warm and comforting, and the egg salad sandwich was my favorite. Super filling and flavorful. My friend got the smoked beet sandwich and you can really taste the smokiness and it was like a vegetarian BBQ. Another friend did the soup and sandwich combo and loved it. Our server was really sweet and forgot a couple things but honestly given how slammed they were I completely get it. The bread lives up to the hype. Definitely a must if you're in the area and want a really solid lunch.

The gator po'boy was good, though on the dryer side. I would have loved more of the sauce on mine. The chips were perfectly crispy crunchy! My partner got the lobster roll and scarfed it down in a few bites. A bit on the pricier side since it's based on the market value, but still delicious. I flinch whenever I hear the "movoc" and I get so excited I want to throw up whenever someone suggests going to movoc for a hangout. There are lots of toppings to choose from, and I think that the concept of hot pot price by weight just like FroYo is fun and unique. Service is fast, and clean. The hot pot was delicious and not too spicy and the sauces they had to offer were very delicious as well. Not too salty. It's a wonderful place, whether you go alone or with friends.

This was my first experience at a hot pot by the pound restaurant. I've only been to all you can…read moreeat hot pot restaurants, so I was excited to try this place out. Apparently, I wasn't the only one because this place got packed by 6p on a weekday! The line was out the door. It can be a little confusing for a first time goer as you enter the place and grab a bowl to select the ingredients you want to eat. The minimum weight that you have to buy is 0.9 lbs, but you really won't know how much your bowl weighs until you get up to the cashier and put it on the scale. My bowl was underweight my first time through, so I went back to grab more ingredients. If I had to guess the minimum cost for a 0.9 lb bowl, it's probably about $16, which is a pretty good price for a hot pot. My bowl weighed about 0.97 and it was way more than I could comfortably eat. The next decision you have to make after you have selected your ingredients is the base and spicy level. I went with #1 Oil splash spicy soup at medium spice level. Now, I enjoy spicy foods, but this was at the upper limit of enjoyability. Although tasty, I think the oil in the broth got to be too much and I will want to try a different base next time. After you pay for your food, you get a number which you take to a table of your choosing and wait for your bowl to come out (they cook it for you). There is a drinking water station next to the free rice station, which was around the corner from the complimentary pickled vegetable station. Overall, positive experience and I would return for more. .|\---/| | @_@ | ..\_^_/..2026

The Menu had drinks on one side and food on the other. The patron next to me ordered a Mule and it looked really good so I ordered that and it tasted as good as it looked. I knew I had to get the Brussels Sprouts and they did not disappoint. It was a pretty good-sized order so I had some to take home for anther meal, yum! I also ordered Lo Mein and enjoyed that immensely, as well. We had somewhere else to be after eating so it was nice to get in and get seated, order drinks, order food all in a timely manner. It wasn't rushed at all, and everyone pitched in with serving and all of it. Well-orchestrated service. Order the brussel sprouts. I wasn't a fan of the T-Pockets as they are NOT traditional crab ragoon. Think, jalapeño poppers but with cream cheese and crab. ORDER A COCKTAIL! I've had their Manhattan and an "After Dark". If you are a bourbon person, you can't lose on either of those. Drinks range from $10-$14. We came right on time and were sat immediately. The inside was lively and buzzing. Right after we were sat, our server came to introduce himself and take our drink order. To start, we each go a Caesar salad, we split an order of calamari, and I got the flower power to drink. I was warned before hand that the drink I chose would be an "experience" but that I should enjoy it. An experience would be an understatement. The salad was good and I loved the croutons, although they were a bit tough. The calamari was quite tasty and seasoned well. As for my drink, let's just say I was NOT prepared. The drink itself wasn't the problem but more so the buzz flower that accompanied it. You're supposed to eat the flower first and then drink. It comes with a glass of prosecco as a palate cleanser but I don't feel as though it did much. I'd say that flower kicked in within 15 minutes and ultimately, that's when things took a turn. At first it felt like pop rocks in my mouth and then I started to feel awful. While the chaos was going on, I managed to eat my blackened salmon, which was delicious. The slaw was so-so and I could have done without the beans and rice. All in all, we had a lovely visit aside from the drink. Our server was fantastic, the food was top notch, and I really enjoyed the ambiance.

We had an upcoming night out, and wanted to get drinks. We figured we would finally take the plunge and just do both our meals and drinks at Frazer's. I love the neighborhood Frazer's is in. I like the general vibe of the restaurant. In the past we have had good experiences with the drinks. For us on this night the food experience fell very flat. It started with the cheese/tomato soup that I got with my burger. It was flavorless and tasted like water lightly infused with some tomato and cheese flavor. My medium burger was well done. Maybe even a step past well done, and was not edible. My wife's meal was good, but forgettable. The drinks were still good, but the poor food quality was a huge let down. The last part that dampened the mood was where we sat. They have a modest outdoor patio and then seating on the sidewalk along the front. We had put in a reservation for outdoor seating. As we walked up there was one table on the very far side of the sidewalk seating almost into a parking lot. I turned to my wife and said "I hope that isn't us." It was. It was just an awkward spot. It also mean that our server didn't check in with us that much. So overall, great spot for drinks. Really outstanding drinks. For the food though, go check out any of the dozen other establishments nearby that are better.

I knew they don't take reservations and won't seat an incomplete party, but I still got there a little early just to see if we could grab a table for five. I was surprised (in a good way) when they seated me before everyone else arrived. I even told the hostess I didn't mind waiting, but she encouraged me to go ahead and sit, which was really nice. Our server was super friendly and made sure I was taken care of while I waited. As my friends started arriving, he was quick to get them settled in too. We started with some non-alcoholic drinks and spent some time chatting before diving into the menu. It was honestly hard to pick just one thing, so I went with both the chicken pho and fried rice. I knew I wouldn't finish it all, but I really wanted both. Once we ordered, everything moved smoothly--our server checked in, made sure drinks were filled, and kept things organized. When the food came out, everything looked amazing and tasted just as good. Of course, with all the catching up we were doing, it took us a while to finish, but there was no rush at all. When we were ready, he brought the checks and was more than happy to split them out (always appreciate that!). Before leaving, I ordered a to-go meal for my husband and asked for a box for my leftovers. Our server actually took my plate and packed everything up in the back, which I wasn't expecting but really appreciated. He also brought out the to-go order right when it was ready.
