    Soup broth cooking area

Long overdue, but it's finally time to give a shoutout to Soupleaf Hot Pot! Located in a North Austin shopping center anchored by the popular 99 Ranch Market, Soupleaf is surrounded by several great Asian restaurants. Because the area is so popular, parking can be a challenge during peak hours, but we were fortunate to find a spot without too much trouble. We were seated promptly and our server took the time to explain the different broth and meat options. One of my favorite parts of the experience is that each person can choose their own broth, making it easy to enjoy different flavors and customize your meal. The seafood, vegetables, noodles and desserts are all served buffet-style in the center of the restaurant, allowing you to mix and match ingredients to create your perfect hot pot. Everything was fresh, well-stocked and the staff did a great job of constantly replenishing the buffet. Since you cook everything at your table, there is a bit of a learning curve. Different ingredients require different cooking times, so it took me a few tries to get everything just right as someone who isn't very experienced with hot pot. That's part of the fun, though and it makes the meal feel interactive. The pricing is also very reasonable considering the quality and variety of food available, making it an excellent value. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience and would definitely return. My only caveat is that I'd probably save it for the cooler months as there's something about sitting over a steaming pot of broth that feels much more appealing when the Texas heat isn't in full force!

Oh my goodness! This is the best hotpot I have ever been to! Every hot pot I've gone to always had a weird smell coming in and not as clean. This place is clean and having your own hotpot is so ideal! We went twice during our vacation! Thursday for lunch and then Sunday for dinner. Normally I was told Sundays are busy but we got here right at 5pm and for sat right away. They don't take same day reservations which is odd, not sure why. The meats are all fresh, the buffet for all the soup sauces and extra veggies and meats was clean and the options were plenty. The dessert were mini cakes and the ice cream which were perfect to be the end piece of eating so much meat and veggies and rice! The tonkatasu and mushroom base mixed was my favorite and the pork belly and all the mushrooms! If you want to try an adult drink, the shared soju is perfect! Because we loved this spot we looked for a place in Arizona and we didn't have one so you should totally open one here!!!!

AYCE hotpot spot that's give you option of buffet only or premium (buffet + meats). The space is spacious with plenty of tables & booths. Each person gets an individual pot with broth of choice. They have seasonal specials (enoki mushrooms, tofu skin, & quail eggs) that you have to order from the server. The buffet & sauce bar has all your essentials. The ingredients were fresh & fully stocked. The tonkotsu broth was not very flavorful or creamy as I thought it would be. I did like the tom yum broth. It was typically tom yum taste; a little sweet & sour. If you can't decide on two broths, they have an option to mix both of them together. You can only order two meats per person at the time. The meats were good & they give you a good portion of meat per order. The angus brisket, eye round, chunk tender, & sirloin tip were kinda tough. My favorite were the angus toro & pork belly. They were both buttery & soft. They have ube soft serve. It was a little icy in texture, but very good. It has strong ube taste.

Well my favorite place to eat right now hands down. I love the fresh food and awesome meat selection. The veggies are farm fresh, with an enormous selection. Seafood lovers rejoice with all of the options! Clean, comfortable and a great spot for a date or a meal with friends. There is bar seating, and you can sometimes snag a spot on a busy evening. Servers are helpful and knowledgeable, and always so friendly. My top tip-ask for a slotted spoon!

This is our new favorite hotpot and the best we've found. The service is spot on and very responsive. They keep coming by to ask if we need more meat, which is plentiful. The cost is average for a hotpot place but the variety of ingredients is astounding. The proteans have it all: beef, chicken, pork, tofu...but the salad, fish, and sauce bar is beyond compare. It was challenging to hold back and not get too much. The freshness was surprising. It is crowded but not noisy. It's amazing what people will take back to their chairs. Huge helpings of bok choy, shrimp, eggs (chicken and quail), and a bucket of individually hand made sauces. They offer 5-6 mushroom species and every kind of cabbage and greens known. Amazing. With multiple flavors of broth it is a guarantee you will find your favorite.

A Fun and Flavorful First Hot Pot Experience This was my first time trying hot pot, and Soupleaf is my youngest daughter's favorite spot--did not disappoint. I was impressed by the wide variety of fresh vegetables, broths, and protein options. It felt like a bit of organized chaos at first, but once we got going, everything was delicious and it turned into a really fun experience cooking my own soup right in front of me. One detail I really appreciated was how accommodating the staff were. They kindly let us bring in a birthday cake and stored it in the fridge until we were ready to sing. It made the evening feel even more special. Overall, Soupleaf was a great introduction to hot pot, and I'll definitely be back soon.

Soup Leaf is an all-you-can-eat hot pot restaurant owned/created/founded by the Lin family (no relation to Jeremy Lin). The interior is dark and aesthetically designed with lots of natural textures. While reservations are available, we were pleasantly surprised by how quick and easy it was to walk in and get a table for two. They offer weekday lunch pricing before 3 PM for $25.50, with all other days and times priced at $36 (excluding tax+tip). HOW IT WORKS: Each diner selects a broth, followed by their choice of meats. To avoid waste, you're allowed two plates of meat per person at a time. Once you finish, you can continue ordering more. After placing your initial order with the server, you're free to visit the buffet bar, which has everything else you could possibly need--an abundance of vegetables, seafood, rice, noodles, and a well-stocked DIY sauce bar. Despite the meats being frozen, they cook in the broth easily. One small note: the waiter defaults the broth temperature to the highest heat. My meat overcooked quickly and became a bit chewy. This may be user error, but a quick heads-up from the servers would have been helpful. WHAT WE ORDERED: My partner chose the Tonkotsu broth, while I went with the Tom Yum. Our palates couldn't be more different--he's all about the meat, while I'm a seafood queen. The Tonkotsu, a lightly roasted pork bone broth, was a bit bland for my taste. The Tom Yum, on the other hand, was exceptional--bold, complex, and full of flavor. Even better? It's a collaboration with Austin's very own Madam Mam's, which made it feel extra legit. In addition to all the things you need for your entree, they also serve dessert at the buffet bar. The standout for me were the soft-serves, both the ube and chocolate flavor.

Not the prettiest pic, after we've started, but so great! Love the "make your own" concept....

I love this place! Been several times now and not only is the staff always wonderful but the food is fresh, the soju is great and the place is clean (huge thing for me)! So much fun in the restaurant and in the plaza, as well!

For the price and variety this place makes it pointless to do hot pot at home. You get 2 hrs to eat which is more than plenty. Not many places offer ubbe soft serve. Service is pretty fast. I do expect this place to be more packed when it gets cold. What's weird is I never smell like soup coming out of here unlike other hot pot places. Either it's ventilated well or the soups aren't strong enough.

I don't often go for hotpot, but usually it is this spot when it happens. They have good selection of meats, seasonal specials, and the buffet part is very good. They have blue crab halves there and I wanted to try it, but it's a bit too messy, so I skipped it. I love enoki mushrooms and I wrapped them in put think sliced meats and dipped in sauce. Ube soft serve was on point too! The service was fast and overall very good, we really enjoyed the experience.

I love this place. The restaurant is big and can accommodate some really big parties. Each person gets their own pot. You basically have two options: just the bar or meats + bar. They have a good assortment of veggies and seafood items. My son really enjoyed the soft serve ice cream. At the time we went, it was chocolate and taro. It was so good, I went twice during my one week vacation in Austin!

Went there for my daughter's birthday party. They were very friendly and accommodating to add 2 extra people to the table. Was my first time ever doing a hot pot experience so was not sure what to expect. It was very very crowded and very noisy so not a good place for a romantic dinner. People that were dining were in a frantic hurry to grab as much food as possible from the 3 large tables in the back. The floors were very dirty from people dropping food. Was a hazard as I slipped on some ice cream! Our waiter was very nice but never brought all of the meats we had ordered and actually doubled up on meats instead of giving us what we wanted which was disappointing because they do offer a lot of different types of meats. We knew there was a 2 hour limit, however when you have to wait for your broth and meats, you are already 35 minutes in. And time inbetween getting more meat is very slow. The staff was nice, but because of not getting what we ordered and the slowness of items being brought out and having to wait and a strict time constraints, may not come back.

This is another Austin staple for me if I'm in the area and craving hot pot. My boyfriend and I went to eat lunch here before our drive back to Houston. Lunch price was $25.50 per person. Even though it was lunch I was curious if certain things were limited. As a given a few of the meats were only for dinner but the ones for lunch are just as great! The quality of the meats were very good and my favorite one was angus toro. For the buffet section it had veggies, noodles, sides, sauces, and seafood. It was such a wide variety of items to add into my hot pot. Our server always checked up on us through out our meal to make sure everything was going well. The restaurant was also very spacious and clean. I love this place!

My go-to dish I order 90 percent of the time I go there is the Chadol Plate (A3). It is beef brisket. You normally need to go to a KBBQ spot and get covered in a layer of smoke. Skip smelling like a campfire and get A4 at Narrow Street. The beef brisket comes with rice served in a metal bowl. You get 3 or four small plastic containers of banchan the rotates seasonally. There is a variety of different kimchi, fish cake, corn slaw, potato salad and more. Once in a while I like to switch it up and I order the Cold Noodles (F1) or squid and pork stir fry (A4). The cold noodles are refreshing with crisp cucumber, white radish kimchi, and korean pear. The noodles are bouncy with a nice chew. Great in Summer and Winter. The Squid and pork stir fry comes with a bowl of rice and it is quite spicy. It is spicier than average but still less spicy than Thai chili. The chewy squid and pork are nicely complemented with the crunchy stir fried cabbage. Once you taste it you can't stop eating it. The price at Narrow Street very reasonable for what you get in my opinion. It is sit down restaurant quality food in a fast casual setting. Tasted bad and didn't taste like what they were supposed to according to several people in the party and I tried one of the dishes and I would agree completely. Of the six hot pots that we had five of them did not have the right ingredients based on what was checked off on the order slip. Really surprising and odd. I don't know if people aren't reading the order slips carefully or don't know some of the ingredients. Like I said odd. Biggest complaint was that my daughter-in-law's food came after everyone else had finished. Truly. No exaggeration. I asked three times where her food was and I was told three times by the same female server that it was coming. Turns out she forgot to put the order in. Inexcusable that this meal was not credited and given for free. I will go back to this place, but it is clearly in need of improvement.

This is definitely one of my favorite places in Austin for Asian food and soup dumplings…read more Definitely need to make a reservation because this place is small and always packed. When you arrive, everybody is so nice you give them your name and they get you seated right away. I ordered a drink called a signature tingling Daisy and it was so good. I definitely could've had so many but I was driving so you gotta pace yourself. We started off with the soup dumplings, which are just phenomenal. It's a must when you go. Also, for appetizers, we got the spicy cucumbers which were divine and a hot and sour soup, which was perfectly balanced and not watery. We also got a beef fried rice and let me tell you that rice is so soft and delicious. You literally dream about it the next day. I also got the pecking duck which is delicious there the skin is nice and crispy and the meat on it taste so good. We also got the Kung pow shrimp with cashews, which was delicious and the pieces of shrimp were gigantic. We also got the green beans which is were delicious. I love ordering green beans when they're cooked just like the ones I posted in the photo. Then for dessert, we got the chocolate mousse which is that little dog cake. I know it's so cute and they made it a little hard to eat because you feel bad in a weird sense. It was delicious now I will say when cutting it and realizing the inside had a raspberry filling, made it a little more crazy cause it looked like blood, but it was still so good. This place is definitely an awesome staple and a must visit when you're in town or just always go and have food there whether it's date night or friends catching up or anything in general even on your own.

This could have been my mistake but I don't remember any choice in the matter. The greeter wasn't very friendly and borderline surly when I asked for more details about how to not book the bar in the future. Didn't get any explanation but fortunately, we won't have to worry about that... The food was just awful. We ordered 3-4 types of dimsum (onion pancake, soup dumplings, chu shou, fried shu mae) and three entries (orange beef, eggplant and their take on ma pao tofu) for the best tasting experience. The curry sauce for the onion pancake was probably the most flavorful dish of the night sadly. The onion pancake was way way over fried-- hard as a rock. If that's their take on onion pancake... well, it's just wrong. The soup dumplings were passable but a bit doughie and the filling was full of a lot of noticeable coagulated fat -- not clear and broth-y, with light surface droplets of oil as all delicious broths. My wife enjoyed the chu shou -- I found the filling much too overcooked and tough -- difficult to eat with chop sticks. Like a tough, overcooked meatball. The fried shu Mae were just plain inedible. My wife and I each ate one and left the rest. The included sauce was basic and too heavy. And again, over fried. There was a huge delay between our apps and our mains, like 40 minutes or so. Various bar staff apologized. It wasn't a big deal, we were in a good conversation and they were super busy but our mains were not at all worth waiting for. Small portions. WAY over sauced. WAY too salty. WAY too sweet. No distinct flavors at all. The ma pao didn't seem to have any Szechuan pepper at all. How do you miss that ? The plating of the eggplant dish was really creative but I don't eat with my eyes and it came with no instruction -- my first bite was just flavorless steamed eggplant cube -- second was mixed with one note sauce. One of the better mains IMO but it was still gloopy and pretty gross. Wife did not enjoy it. The orange beef was essentially just six or seven cubes of tough, fatty beef covered in over-the-top bitter orange peel. We each had a cube and left the rest. Honestly, give me Panda Express any day over this abject failure of a restaurant. Austin needs more Chinese but if it's anything like this place, forget it. I'd rather spend a 4h round trip to Houston and go to even a mediocre Chinese restaurant than endure another meal at this place. What a waste of $165. Edit: I wish I was making this up but I literally had to pull over to throw up on the side of the road on the way home. The food did not sit well with me. I have no underlying health conditions, am not on any medicine that would have this as a side effect and only shared one beer with my wife. It was just a very, very, disappointing and gross meal.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with genuine warmth and such positive energy. The welcoming atmosphere, attentive service, and chill vibe made us feel right at home. Every dish we ordered was outstanding and packed with flavor. The seafood pancake was cooked to crispy perfection, something that's surprisingly hard to find, as it's often left a bit doughy at other restaurants. The steamed egg was light, fluffy, and comforting, while the spicy tofu pork soup was phenomenal. It had just the right amount of heat, with silky, melt-in-your-mouth tofu and incredibly tender pork belly that paired perfectly with a bowl of rice. What truly elevated the experience, though, was the service. At one point I accidentally dropped my chopsticks, and before I could even ask for another pair, one of the servers noticed from across the restaurant and immediately brought me a new set. It's those small, thoughtful touches that really set a restaurant apart. SOHA exceeded my expectations in every way. If you're looking for authentic, flavorful Korean food with genuinely exceptional hospitality, this is the place. It has officially become a must-visit every time I'm in Austin.

Corn cheese: 5/5 It was hot, creamy, sweet, charred, and delicious! Would recommend. Soy Honey Chicken: 5/5 I'm not a big fan of the batter but the portion was pretty big, it stayed crispy, the sweetness was nice, the onions were refreshing, and it was good on rice! Short Ribs: 3.5/5 I wasn't too big of a fan - the short ribs were chewy and not as flavorful as other korean places. If you like more mild flavors, this is the one for you. Also, some of the pieces were just bone Steamed Egg: 2/5 It was just egg, not something I would recommend spending your money on. It was soft and hot, but not too flavorful. Kimchi Pancake: 4/5 It was good, crispy, toasty, but there was just more batter than kimchi. The sauce was a bit salty and I prefer more vinegar based dipping sauces with my Korean pancakes. I liked it though, it had a good onion flavor. Pork Belly 5/5: Forgot to take a picture but quite good! Thick cuts, tender, juicy. It's not seasoned but it comes with some lettuce, samjang, and sesame oil. Good vibes and service - it's a good eat, sip, and talk place
