    Murphy's Scramble
    George S.

After passing this place many times , I stopped by hoping for a solid diner experience - and overall South Fork delivered what I was looking for, but with better ingredients, less gut-bomby food, and a cleaner, nicer environment. I will be back to try more items from the menu. I ordered the Murphys scramble as it was a bit different than I'm used to- eggs, hash browns, cheese, bacon, and sausage, - but with the addition of gravy. Food came out fast - The scramble (which is one of my favorite kinds of dish of any kind) was done well - eggs perfectly over easy, hash browns were the right amount of crispy, and the amounts of gravy and cheese were such that I didn't feel overwhelmed by either. I really liked the combination including the gravy, and despite the ingredients, it wasn't overly greasy. Other notes: - Server was super friendly, attentive, and gave good advice. - Sourdough toast and butter were solid. - Gravy was good, though I'd love a bit more sausage in it - take this with a grain of salt though, as my gravy bar is army sos (gravy with a hefty amount of beef over a heavy biscuit) which I bet not everyone would agree is the best gauge. - Coffee met my expectations I like to have a reliable go-to breakfast spot nearby, and this is surely a candidate.

I wasn't even planning to stop here. I was on my way to somewhere else when South Fork Cafe caught my eye and I'm so glad it did. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed by the nicest people: Matt, Angie, and Angie's sister (who used to work there). They genuinely talked about how much they love being there and how great the restaurant is, and honestly... they sold me. You can tell when people truly care about where they work, and it completely shows here. Even though I already had plans to eat somewhere else, I couldn't leave without grabbing a to-go menu and they talked me into trying the toasted caramel marshmallow iced latte (aka the s'mores latte) to go. Let me just say: that drink alone convinced me I need to come back. And can we talk about the presentation? Even in a to-go cup, they went the extra mile to make it absolutely beautiful. That kind of attention to detail says everything. Amazing vibes, genuinely kind people, and a drink I'm still thinking about. Everyone needs to go.

I had the Migas. I would definitely get it again.

Food was excellent. Taste was better than expected. Portion size was perfect, and I'm a big eater. Presentation of the food was very good. Ambience is cheerful and clean. It was very pleasant eating there. The prices are fair compared with other restaurants. I have no complaints. Service was also excellent. The server, Claudia, kept my coffee cup full. She was very attentive without hovering over us. The noise level was low. We had no trouble talking. And finally, the restroom was clean. This is a big thing. Usually, a filthy restroom means a filthy kitchen.

    Meat lovers skillet

Stopped by on an early Saturday morning for breakfast (8:30am). The restaurant was nice and clean and the servers were friendly and welcoming. I ordered the Meat lovers skillet with no eggs, add onion & bell pepper with coffee. The meal came with a choice of bread item and I selected the buttermilk pancakes. Food was good, nothing extraordinary, but solid. I will definitely return!

I've seen several posts of other's Saturday brunch/lunch so I thought I'd share mine. We tried out South fork cafe in plano today to meet the twins for a Late brunch, and everyone was so happy with their choices. I went for the Very Berry Crepes and a side of grits. I'm the only grits fan in my family and these were good. Matt was our server and did a great job! Two others got their skillets and Dad got the huevos rancheros that were prepared in layers as we expected. He gave them big thumbs up.

Save yourself the time the Food is absolutely horrible. It's a brunch place that serves greasy food from a kitchen that doesn't clean it's griddle in between cooking different foods. My crepes should not taste and look like oil.

I love a good chicken fried steak. The steak and gravy was seasoned perfectly. I went for breakfast and ordered the CFS, hash browns, scrambled eggs and pancakes. Everything was good. The server was helpful and attentive. I don't recall the cost but it was very reasonable. I will definitely go back when in the area. Next time hopefully it will be around lunch time.

After a Medical test I was hungry so in neighborhood found this cafe. Omg it was around 11:30 weekday so lunch crowd started but breakfast till close. Had to try there hand battered chicken fried steak we did breakfast version as want scrambled eggs, extra crispy hashbrowns and a pancake. Starting with pancake it comes with 2 for the lightest fluffy buttery vanilla pancake so good no syrup needed but they bring you a warm maple syrup so had to have some. I will come back for syrup alone. Meal was cooked just as ordered crispy hashbrowns and fluffy fresh scrambled eggs none of those liquid eggs. The CFS was light crispy hand battered easy to cut steak soooo good. Coffee great. Friendly staff throughout our visit. Angelica our server was the best, friendly, helpful and just made you feel welcome.

We were looking for a different restaurant for breakfast and ended up here. The restaurant is bright and open. The service was great at first but kind of fizzled out at the end. The corned beef was good, the eggs were wet , and the hash browns were uneatable, and the toast was doughy.

    Buffalo Chicken Panini

When you first walk in to South Fork Cafe you will get a garden cafe kind of feel from the place. Tall ceilings give it a light and airy feel with wood beams on the ceiling creating an arbor for the flowering vines (plastic). There is a noise level in the place and a clanging of dishes in the kitchen though that detract from the serenity of the decor. When we first arrived we were told there would be a 45 minute to a one hour wait. Thankfully shortly after we were told that several people left all at once and we were seated in about 5 minutes. Our server Anokhi did a great job. She was extremely pleasant and shared her beautiful smile with everyone she encountered whether it be at her tables or the register. Great attitude and always moving to keep all her tables taken care of. I ordered the Spicy Chicken Panini. Essentially Buffalo hand-breaded tenders on focaccia bread with Swiss cheese. My side was French fries. While we were seated quickly, our order took considerably longer to get to us. When it did arrive though it was served fresh, hot, and was delicious!

Parthenon Wrap with Tomato Basil Soup

I was looking to have brunch in the area and came across this cafe that recently opened. The cafe is super cute, nicely decorated, and they've got a great selection of dishes and drinks on the menu. I tried their Parthenon Wrap with tomato and basil soup; both were so delicious. The grilled chicken was seasoned really well and had that charred flavor I love. The only thing I'd suggest is slicing the red onion a bit thinner. There were some big chunks in the wrap that I ended up taking out. Service was a little slow, but only because a bunch of customers walked in around the same time. The staff did check in with us and apologized for the delay, which I appreciated. Overall, it was a nice experience!

    Gravy Train Omelette
    Maria D.

I have nothing bad to say about this place. The restaurant itself is very clean and pretty. All of the staff were nice and friendly. And onto the food...the gravy train omelette was SO GOOD! Think of biscuits and gravy stuffed in an omelette. I got hash browns and pancakes on the side with their compote which was delicious. I plan on coming back to try something new, so stop by and give it a go!

I really enjoyed the American cuisine here--great food and a nice atmosphere overall…read more I ordered the French onion soup and the Reuben eggrolls. The French onion soup seems to be popular here, and as soon as I saw that buttery-looking pastry puff baked on top, I knew I had to order it! It was definitely hearty, with plenty of onions (which I love). However, it was a bit saltier than I prefer. I do wish there were an option to substitute the onion soup with a chowder, like clam or corn chowder. The Reuben eggrolls were surprisingly good! I'm used to traditional Asian eggrolls, so I really liked this creative twist. The house-smoked pastrami, sauerkraut, and melted Gruyère cheese worked so well together. They tasted amazing with the spicy Russian dipping sauce (which I appreciated wasn't too spicy). It was such a flavorful and memorable dish! I'm glad I gave it a try.

Low light, always smells pleasantly of bread and marinara, and always a comfy temperature even on the patio. We've tried a few things here, but tonight we got the Garlic Rosemary Bread as an appetizer, and wow, what a sleeper. We loved this, probably our favorite appetizer we have had here. I also recommend the fondue as we have enjoyed that one in the past. Tonight bf got spicy rigatoni and I got carbonara. The carbonara here is great, very rich and tastes SO good when you mix in the poached egg. It's so rare to find a carbonara that isn't just Alfredo. Bf commented that the rigatoni actually had a kick to it (he says places tend to under spice a "spicy pasta") and he enjoyed his dish. We have also gotten pizza here before and highly recommend. Their dough and marinara sauces are incredible. Overall a nice place on the upscale side. On Friday nights like tonight, it can be LOUD, which is a downside. But with a reservation, we were seated immediately and all our service was very prompt by our waiter. Even with a full house, food was out in 15 minutes or maybe even less. I would recommend this!
