First time coming to this establishment. Came with a friend that highly recommended it. Spoke only good things about it. Specifically about their BBQ chicken pie. Was super excited to try. But we had not realized until after getting the pizza that it had bacon. We asked the bartender to confirm if it actually was bacon. Once he confirmed it, we asked if we could get the pizza remade since we are not able to eat it due to our religion. He then went on a rant saying that we should have stated that from the beginning, would not remake it and that is was TSOL (that's shit out of luck.) than walked away, as we were speaking to him. The amount of disrespect and utter disregard to the situation was really astonishing. Would never have believed something like this would happen in 2023. There is nothing bad I can possibly say about South Town Pie! I came from California to watch my boys in blue play at Safeco. Not having much of a direction, my friends and I decided to take a stroll and eat somewhere within walking distance of our AirBnB. We decided to go to a burger tavern up the street but they were packed, so we decided to go to a nice-looking pizza spot. When we got there, we we decided to sit outside because the owner (I'm sorry if I forgot your name!) allows his adorable canine friend to chill outside and we couldn't possibly let her be alone! We got the Animal pizza, which was amazing! While we waited for our food, the owner came out and started talking to us. My goodness, this man was charming, charismatic, diplomatic and very selfless. He opened up about his life and what led him to making South Town Pie and his elaborate process on how to craft the perfect recipe for his pizzas; it took him a whole year and change to get the recipe just perfect and my god, was it worth it! He even suggested some pretty awesome things to do and see while in Seattle and was very descriptive in doing so. He was so helpful and kind! Right after we checked out of our AirBnB, I recommended South Town Pie to another group of friends with which I went to Seattle to try the breakfast pizza they have every Saturday; the type of pizza changes on a weekly basis. We were close to getting the breakfast pizza but couldn't get the Animal out of my mind and we got it again. Again, the owner came and talked to us and asked us how our previous day's adventure had gone. We called an Uber to pick us up in front of South Town pie headed to the airport. On my way out of the place, I had seen that there was South Town Pie shirts and really wanted one to remember the great experience. As I'm waiting outside for the Uber, the owner comes out and chats with us as we wait. I curiously asked him "How much are your shirts?" And he asked "Which one did you like? And what size are you?" And I said "The navy blue one with the orange letters, XL" and he said "I'll be right back". He hands me the shirt and I asked "How much?" And he says "for you, it's free!" My goodness I could not believe the kindness coming from this man, he was a saint brought to us by the merciful pizza gods! I cannot thank him enough for making a portion of my Seattle experience unforgettable. My absolute favorite local pizza joint. I discovered this place recently and have returned several times for their infamous pastrami pizza. Pastrami pizza is one of a kind. Topped with thick chunks of pastrami and pickles with a delicious creamy white sauce. The crust has a everything bagel taste to it. All pizzas are made a thin crust style. They have rotating daily specials if you don't feel like getting a whole pie. Another favorite of mine is the pulled pork pizza that's topped with yummy coleslaw. If you prefer the classics of cheese and pepperoni they have that too. Their bar selection is HUGEEEE. They prob have any type of liquor brand your heart desires. I opted for the seasonal sangria and it had just the right amount of sweetness. I had to order a second one. Service is impeccable from the servers, bartenders, bakers. The pastrami pizza here is EVERYTHING. I stopped by a couple weeks ago to pick up a pizza to go (mushroom, onion, and chicken sausage). First off, I really love the vibe of this place. I'd describe the décor as industrial-chic. There are lots of booths as well as seating at the bar area. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by Sam who was behind the bar. We chatted while I got a drink (stiff and reasonably-priced!) and waited for my to-go order. Since I came in pretty hungry, Sam convinced me to try a slice of this famed pastrami pizza. Holy smokes. Never would I have thought pizza topped with pickles an pastrami would have become one of my new favorite things, but let me tell you, it is a thing of beauty. It starts off with this phenomenal everything-bagel-like crust. It's thin, crispy, salty, garlicky perfection. Then it's topped with this incredible gruyere cheese that melts so wonderfully, it really becomes more like a cheese sauce. On top of that are chunks of crunchy dill pickles, tender and flavorful pastrami, and sweet caramelized onions. The flavors together are simply heavenly. Came here on a Friday evening for lunch with some of my coworkers, they ordered the BBQ chicken and another one with pepperoni and another meat? I ordered a slice of the daily veggie which consisted of pineapples, red bell peppers, cheese, etc. I like the thin crust on it and the service was great. For a slice it ran 4.75, which is why I rated it 4 stars due to it being a little expensive for South Park. Service was good and the restaurant was pretty well pack for a Friday evening! I also love all the different unicorn slices, it's nice to have fun options, although honestly just a pepperoni pizza is usually our favorite. We also LOVE their garlic cheese bread with beer cheese sauce for dipping. We usually end up getting pizza to go but have enjoyed eating here whenever the opportunity arises. They have a full bar and have appetizers and desserts too. We usually come in and order a pizza and grab a beer while we wait. We also LOVE that they allow dogs on their patio, great to walk over on a nice evening or weekend afternoon to have a couple slices and beers on the patio. I thought I reviewed STP almost 2 years ago, but can't find it. At that time, it would have been 5 stars. Not sure who or what changed but the pies just aren't the same. The Gruyère cheese can't be found on my pizzas, and the pastrami has been barely there. I started ordering it on the side. It has been like water the past 4 times I've ordered from them. Their tomato sauce seems a bit more spicy than before as well. They're close by and I wanted to keep giving them a try, supporting South Park businesses. If you come in at off hours (between lunch and dinner peaks) I do not recommend ordering slices; order a full pie so they make it fresh, rather than just heating up what's been sitting out for awhile. After seeing all the great reviews I was stoked to try this place. They don't have a menu online, so I called in an order for takeout. The person on the phone was nice and patient with my asking about things. When I walked into the joint, the guy at the bar directed me to the take-out counter. (I walked in the back door, as there was no parking out front, but plenty in the back.) The bar looked very well stocked. I wish I'd had time to stay for a drink. I proceeded to the front counter and paid and very promptly received my pizza. There were little cups of chili flake and powdered parmesan. So far, so great! I left and drove home where hungry people demanding pizza were awaiting me. As to the pizza (and the rating). The style is more New York than anything else. (Thin crust) Apparently I (and the people that shared the pizza with me) have VERY different opinions on pizza than the other reviewers, or I was subject to the aforementioned growing pains in some of the other reviews. Honestly, the crust was a touch scorched. The toppings were a bit light for what I ordered. The sauce was non-existent or had no flavor. I'd purchase that sauce by itself and slather it all over my burgers and sandwiches. Pity they don't sell the stuff! I say funky in a cool way. This place is situated in a really neat historic brick building. I was impressed by the bar, the wait staff and cooks... I work in the city and escape to my place up by Mount Rainier but I think I'm gonna make a trip down on a weekend and check out the nightlife. The pizza is amazing. Their crust is thin yet chewy, some of their house pizzas are really good. And if you don't see one you would like you can build your own. I judge a pizza place by how I feel the next day also. They must use great ingredients because no indigestion or upset stomach. I will definitely be back I love supporting places like this. Both are vegetarian and mention no meat in the description, yet when I received my delivery it was covered in sausage. This is closest to NY style pizza I have had in Seattle and I am so happy. I travel to NY often and find myself disappointed with the pizza in Seattle. My order was delivered via Postmates and arrived very quickly. The pizza itself is delicious- the perfect amount of Neapolitan style pizza sauce (my other love), crispy thin crust that still folds, and high quality toppings. This is my second time here. Again I'm impressed with the variety of the slice options. An owner is usually in the kitchen/behind the counter. Staff are friendly. They have great classic pizza like Italian sausage, margarita. Their non-traditional pies are well with the gamble. Today is Taco Pizza Tuesday!
