Wow, can't say enough. I had the prime rib sandwich.. This is a real slice off the rib cooked to roger. Melt in your mouth tender. Ordered medium rare and it was perfect. This is where the locals eat and the locals usually know all the good spots. We had skins to start and they were superb. Salad seemed fresh also not some bagged crap salad. We were looking for a smaller, non commercial place to get a good dinner. Thanks to Yelp we did just that. This place was great! First off they are Pittsburg fans so they have to be good! The service was quick and staff very friendly. We had the pork chops with salad, green beans and baked potato. They have a special baked potato and was it good. You have to eat the skin to enjoy the special flavor. The pork chops were grilled and very juicy, seasoned well and cooked to perfection. My wife had the crabmeat quesadilla. It was served with black chips and salsa. The crabmeat was real fresh crab and had great flavor. But the gold medal goes to the homemade cheesecake and carrot cake. Very large portions and fantastic flavor. They staff seemed like a big family. I believe most of them were. The chef/owner came to check on us and asked about the food. I believe his wife makes the desserts. They asked how we found them and they are very proud of their place, food and reputation. AND SO THEY SHOULD BE. So glad to see the reviews because we may have never found this place without the help of Yelp . Don't pay attention to what it looks like on the outside and I think that it adds to the charm of this family business. It is open only for a short time & not all week. Plan your day around it & you will not be disappointed. To start we ordered The stuffed mushrooms and they were so good & I don't like mushrooms. OMG! Well worth any wait. Rib eye steak was fabulous. Salad was crisp and fresh. Grilled grouper was so tasty, light and flavorful. The baked potato was the best baked potato I have ever had. The desserts are all homemade, according to our waitress. Carrot cake and key lime pie were delicious. We saw the banana cream pie and it looked like it would have been a good choice as well. Went there this evening since we hadn't been there for a few weeks. I wasn't real hungry so I decided to try the grilled fish sandwich paired with one of their baked potatoes. Goodness sakes.... the fish was perfectly cooked and didn't soggy up the bun. It fully covered the large bun and actually hung outside the bun. The potato was, as always, incredible. My wife had the Grilled Grouper Mango and cleaned her plate. But the big surprise was the raspberry cheesecake we took home. OMG!!!! It was off the hook. Absolutely great place to eat in Myrtle Beach area and to us the BEST food in the area! Our family of 6 ate here tonight and we all loved it. Between us we had the Ribeye platter, Shrimp Platter, Chicken Sandwich, Chicken fingers (kids and adult meals), and kids fish meal as well as the fried pickles appetizer. Best steak I have ever had, mouth watering!!!! All the food was made fresh, proven by the great taste! Customer service was exceptional and very friendly. The owners run the restaurant as a family and we talked to all of them while there. Our kids cant stop raving about it. Our only regret is that we didnt find this place until at the end of our trip, after eating at several places that were no where close to this good and cost more. Thanks to Yelp we found this wonderful family owned dining spot on a rainy night while camping at State Park nearby. Food is every bit as wonderful as the reviews that led us there. This is a great local restaurant that is the kind of place where you want to go that's not a chain or one of the dozens of frozen-sourced seafood buffets that litter King's Highway. The food is great and the service is warm and friendly. I had the seafood dish, which was great - just the kind of platter you would want, and the way they prepare their baked potato is fantastic - worlds better than most places. Everyone else in my family loved their orders as well. Make sure you save room for dessert! It's all locally made and can vary from day to day, but I can guarantee it will be good! Note their limited hours, so make sure that you go when they are open - you will not regret it! This is one of the best places and jewels in Surfside Beach South Carolina. The owners bend over backwards to help you, as this is a mom and pop organization. Great food at great prices. can't even begin to tell you how much we save by going there. Fabulous food. If you treat the owners with respect, they give it back to you Sevenfold. I am amazing appalled that some people can say the negative things I have read, but from what I've heard, it doesn't surprise me because those very people were less than honorable. I live by the saying you get what you give. That being said, Southside Grill should get great reviews for being number one, as, if you're respectful, they are more than accommodating and wonderful. The homemade desserts are wonderful. Their carrot cake was actually just written up by a respected magazine for having the 8th best carrot cake from Washington DC to Texas, based not by votes, but by reviews. Okay so I won't hold it against them that they are die hard Pittsburgh fans. The owner Mimi makes you feel like you are dining in their home. I love the Pittsburgh atmosphere and the cozy feel to the restaurant. They have been there for 14 years so you know they are doing the food right. Only the locals know about this place and the great food. I had the Rick special sandwich which was absolutely perfectly cooled roast beef, rare and melt in your mouth. My son had the Philly cheese steak cooked with the same roast beef, had to have a bite and it too was great. Finally my wide had the cheeseburger and it was cooked perfectly and the size of a child's head. The dessert specials were carrot cake and sour cream cheese cake. Now my wife makes the absolute best carrot cake in the world and I never order it at a restaurant, but Mimi said she makes every dessert and specifically she makes the carrot cake with all the same ingredients my wife uses, so we tried it and it was great. She vehemently denied that they were canned beans, but returned several minutes later and admitted that yes they were canned beans. At that point the owner came over and loudly asked " What's your problem?" Once again I mentioned that I was disappointed that the green beans were canned beans, to which he loudly replied " what's the big deal?" I mentioned that it is a big deal when I'm going out to dinner and paying for my meal . At that point The people at all the surrounding tables were staring at us, and he walked away and loudly announced " Get over it." I wasn't loud, I wasn't rude. Awesome food and awesome people! We discovered this gem from reading the reviews on YELP. My husband and I love to frequent locally owned and operated restaurants. This is family owned and run. The food is prepared to order and very delicious. I had a hard time deciding what to order and decided on the grilled grouper with mango salsa. My husband had the fisherman's platter. We both had the baked potatoes which were very "special". Like other reviewers mention it is a small restaurant so you may have to wait to be seated and since everything is prepared to order you will wait for your food but boy is it sure worth the waiting. We had great conversations with other diners as well the staff/owners. We even joined in a Happy Birthday chorus for another diner. Sadly they were out of the carrot cake but we had a piece of the chocolate turtle cheesecake for dessert and it was delicious. Absolutely nothing disappointed us. We will be back. read more

Got take out from here on a Wed night in April. I ordered the crab salad. The waitress was kind and packaged the crab cake separately from the salad so I wouldn't have mush when I got home. The salad consisted of iceberg lettuce, grape tomatoes, shredded cheese, cucumbers and what looked like mini toasted bagels as croutons. I was not happy with the wilted sad looking iceberg lettuce. They should definitely do an upgrade to romaine or another lettuce that actually benefits your body. The crabcake looked more like a pancake but I was told by the locals that that's what they look like in this part of the country. I'm used to large almost baseball size crab cakes, filled with mostly lump crab but that's probably because I usually order them when I'm in Baltimore. I must say even though I didn't like the looks, the taste was very good. May go back just to dine in and try something else on the menu, I just won't order anything with lettuce read more

Incredible food and truly wonderful people! We were looking for something that had a little bit of everything for our group (adults and kids). It's in a strip center and we missed it when we drove past it the first time. So glad we found it. It was clean and has the cozy feel of a small mom and pop restaurant inside. Two of us got the crab cake dinner, two got the ribeye sandwich and two got burgers. The crab cakes were flavorful (and fresh!) and filled with lots of crab. The steak sandwich was huge and we found out they cut it off the ribeye right there. Burgers were flavorful and juicy- cooked perfectly! And the baked potatoes were the most unique we have ever had- and delicious! We were stuffed from our meals but we all split a piece of their homemade carrot cake. Even my 12 year old loved it- and usually he only goes for chocolate. Definitely save room for the carrot cake- moist, flavorful and topped with a sweet rich cream cheese frosting. Everything is homemade and fresh. I can't say enough about the food or the owners. And there were lots of locals eating there so you know it's good! This is a small family-owned Pittsburgh-themed grill. Typical Americana surf-n-turf menus items. It is BYOB, which is awesome if you are like me and have particular beer tastes. Also, BYOB is a way cheaper option. I happened to call ahead of time to see if they were still open because hurricane Matthew was coming in. The owner answered the phone and said that they indeed are open and when asked about the BYOB he jokingly mentioned that the owner/chef likes Bud Light lime and Coors light. I happened to have six Bud Light limes that were going to be thrown away anyway so I brought them as a gift for him. He personally comes out to greet every customer, shake hands and chitchat in between cooking their food. Very personable family oriented atmosphere. It feels like a local restaurant where all the guests are treated like locals. The crab cake appetizer was awesome, probably 90% crab meat and 10% breading. The salads were iceberg/spinach mix with many dressing options, and the salad arrived just as we finished the apps. Both ordered the seafood platter (most expensive thing on the menu at 20 whole dollars lol) which was overflowing the plates, arrived about 5 minutes after we finished the salads.
