I researched some local places but Spa Del Rio was the one I had my eye on because of the women-owned and family-ran business. It looked like the hot spot to go to for a true relaxing experience. As soon as I came in, I was greeted by the kind and soft-spoken receptionist who immediately offered me a complimentary beverage (I chose a mimosa). Then, Perla (my massage therapist) brought me in and asked me what the focus will be on today. I let her know that I had been having back pain and she was very thorough in explaining the techniques she'd be doing to relieve my pain. She was absolutely wonderful and had the perfect touch. Her knowledge about the body anatomy shined through in my massage and I quickly felt my back pain was alleviated. I opted to add the botanical facial massage and I am so glad I did! It's a lymphatic massage for your face so it's best for people who hold stress and tension in their jaw--but it's just so relaxing so everyone can benefit from it! First time here with my sister for a sisters outing. We both needed some R&R. My sister chose this spa for a massage and facial. The surrounding area can get pretty busy. We left our home a bit early to account for traffic, but instead of getting there 15min early, we got there just on time for our appt. We called to let them know we got a bit lost with parking, and they understood and still honored our appt. We couldn't find the free parking lot, so we paid for parking across the street, which wasn't too bad. I think it was $4 for the day. Luckily the lot wasn't full. The spa is located on the 2nd floor of the plaza. Once we arrived, we were greeted by the receptionist, and had to complete some forms that asked for our contact info and areas of focus for the massage and facial. My sister and I were able to get both our massages and facials in one room as they removed the partition. Overall, good massage and facial. We both ended up purchasing some of their skin care products that were used during our facials, only because we liked them, not because the staff was pushy. They made recommendations, but they were nowhere near pushy or adamant about purchasing their products. Claudia was very nice, sweet, and gentle. Her daughter was also nice and welcoming.
