OKay, for the money this was not good enough. I had a sweet, "older" woman give me a 50 minute massage. She was pretty good on the back of my body with pressure, but when I turned over she hardly massaged a thing. I'm used the the neck, upper chest massage/rub down but nothing! She spent TOO much time scratching my scalp and pressing on my head in spots. It was incomplete and felt that way but for that money it should be MUCH better. If you read this, please talk to your staff about doing both sides of a person! A friend I made by the pool coincidentally had the same woman and said the same thing, "she only did one side" so I knew it was her. Crazy! read more

The experience was very bland for the price. Dressing area was nothing special and did not include a complimentary juice/champagne in the lounge area like other resorts I have visited. My masseuse was 20 minutes late for our appointment. I scheduled the special autumn massage that was supposed to include aromatherapy. I was basically rubbed down with lotion. No scents, nothing special. When I was finished, I planned to lounge outside and have a drink. Not one person working for the resort came and offered anything...a towel, water, a beverage. I just had the signature 50 minute massage. Total rip off. I was not happy with the fact the she massaged my feet each for probably 10 minutes. I have other parts on my body that needed a massage, like my neck or upper arms. I do not recommend this massage. The mandatory 22% tip is also bad idea. read more

The best spa treatment I have ever had is at this spa. It was an orange scrub/massage combo. This lovely lady scrubbed me down with an orange scrub then let me lay under the vichy shower for 10 minutes or so then came back to dry me from head to toe then changed the wet towels to yummy warm ones then gave me a full hour massage with an orange lotion, its all finished up with a wonderful sprayed mist of you guessed it orange scent. I left the spa like a new person. Seriously it was that good. It was a 90 minute treatment. The celestial shower and their baths are also great! The outdoor area of the spa is just wonderful. The reason I gave four stars is the furniture in the relaxation room is very old and worn. I hear they are renovating this resort so maybe the spa is next? read more

MUST ASK FOR JUANA!!!! Yes the prices are high, but the luxury of walking to the spa at the resort as opposed to driving somewhere more affordable was worth it to me!! That and I drew the long straw when I got Juana, it was just a 25 minute massage and in that time, she turned me to mush! She gets right to business as she knows there isn't a lot of time! When I checked out, the front desk staff even said they need to see her since all guests come out just as relaxed as I did. read more

Really not worth the high price for an average massage and overall mediocre experience. To begin, the spa facilities need updating badly. The steam room is tiny and there was no eucalyptus as advertised. The sage room for relaxing is just a bunch of sofas. Most high end spas have cushy lounge chairs where you can really chill and/or nap. The showers and bathrooms are clean but dated and the products are ok. As for my massage, it was a total disappointment. I opted for the 50 min custom massage. I was immediately put off when the masseuse did not ask me any questions about basic things like sore/problem areas, my preferred massage pressure, or any medical problems I might have. I've been to spas all over the world and this was the first not to follow basic best practice. Even chains like Massage Envy do that. The actual massage was more like a back rub. It felt nice but my body needed work and that's what I thought I was paying for. The whole experience was very basic. No candles, no scented eye mask when I turned onto my back (I think she put a pillow case on my face), no glass of water waiting for me when I emerged from the room. The masseuse was lovely and polite but clearly not well trained. Overall, pretty low class for a Waldorf property and def overpriced for the poor value. Buyer beware. read more

This spa definitely needs a complete refresh in the lounging areas. The foot stools in the lounge areas are covered in oil and the couches are awful. There was 1 magazine available in the lounge & towels outside not picked up. The first thing as we entered the locker room was a woman in a full loud conversation on her cell phone!!! Loved it! I was not staying at the resort but have always wanted to check it out and am so glad I did. Great price performance. All the staff was wonderful and the lounging/relaxing areas are incredible. After many long days of work I was in much need of a good massage and this did the trick. My masseuse did a great job and was great at making sure my needs were met without being too chatty. Felt great and refreshed all day and would have stayed and hung out all day if I could! My husband & I had massages yesterday. It was the worst, most expensive massage we have ever had. Gabby did not listen to me. I left feeling worse than when I came in. She hurt my lower back so it hurt to stand. Then they add on 22% tip. What a racket. I cannot say anything good about this service. My husband bought be a massage treatment here for Mother's Day and I kind of had high expectations going here. The front desk staff was so-so, they couldn't find my reservation at first and had to get help from the manager to find it. Once I got into the spa area, it was a little too crowded for my taste. In the 20 minutes I waited there were about 15 other people that came/went as their therapists came in to call their name, so the relaxation room wasn't very relaxing with all the traffic. My therapist was nice, seemed experienced. She dug into my back pretty good, painful actually but it felt better after. I didn't stay to lounge around after, as I had somewhere to go. Beware the pricing on services! Although I'm accustomed to the inflated prices at most resorts, I was still shocked and disappointed by my experience today at Spa La Quinta. I stopped by the spa to have a toenail repaired after scuffing the top coat at the pool. Foolishly, I neglected to ask how much it would cost to *paint one layer of Shellac top coat on one toenail*. Anywhere else I've been, such a "service" would run about $5. Not here. It was a $35 "polish change". The spa director Leslie Johnson was unpleasant and unaccommodating, insisting that a "gel service" is $35, period. Lesson learned. And although I doubt we'll stay here again, I would never consider booking another "service" at the spa. read more

We had two massages scheduled. When it was time to pay, the girl at the front desk said sheepishly that there was a 22% gratuity added to the bill. Our massages were 165 each and so the 72 dollar gratuity made our bill greater than 400. Applying a mandatory "gratuity" is a charge not a gratuity and would be more honestly stated as such. read more

The experience I had here at Spa La Quinta was the WORST I've ever had and ironically enough the most expensive I've ever had. Spa La Qunita advertises their custom massage as: Designed for you, by you, this relaxing massage is customized to your preferences with varying techniques and levels of pressure. $150 for 50 minutes. I should have know this was going to be the worst massage of my life when my therapist didn't ask me at all what I was looking for, where my discomforts were, if I've had a massage before. (designed for you, by you, NOT!) Instead she took me the room and just started to "massage". I say "massage" because it wasn't really a massage... more like she was quickly rubbing lotion into my body. Her hands were so speedy and careless, that when she ran her hands over a knot, she never stopped. (varying techniques, NOT!) I asked her to go a bit deeper and well, she didn't. Then towards the end of the massage, I asked her to go a bit deeper again, she got really annoyed -- but atleast she did apply a little more pressure. (varying levels of pressure, NOT!) Beyond the horrible massage, the facilities had no dry sauna and to top it off the front desk was so rude! read more

Stayed here a couple of weeks ago. Beautiful grounds. Great place to spend a weekend. We did have an issue with wet carpet in our room by the closet from the A/C. Not a big deal, but resort management asked that we take another room. 90 minutes later we finally got settled in an upgraded room, but it was inconvenient because we were there for only one night. That said, the resort took care of us. The customer service was top notch. They earned our business. read more

Paid for an 80 minute massage. Got a 60 minute massage. Told the front desk afterward & they just shrugged and said, "ok." Horrendous customer service. For the prices they charge, they should have much better service and listen to their clients. read more

massages were average at best. Lots of water but nothing much else to drink or snack on. Shower rooms very typical. for the massage it was way to expensive. otherwise we liked the resort with the exception of the food at the pool, which you should avoid at all cost as it will be a negative for your experience. read more

Had a simple signature facial while out for a conference. Chamka was excellent, she gave me a world-class facial! Will go back next time I'm in the desert! read more
