First time here for a late lunch. Tall draft beers on Tuesday's $4, that was an unexpected win, especially on the craft beers! The food was great. We had the lamb patty sandwich with the pork belly Brussel sprouts, and the lunch special of steak salad and brisket sliders. If I could I would give minus 1 (-1) stars. To start I got the warm pretzel logs, however "warm" must have meant cold obviously as even the cheese reminded me of frosty the snowman. After ignoring this little mishap I decided to get a cocktail. What I got was quite possibly the worst mixed drink ive ever had. I could go into detail. And I will. It tasted like urinal water yet was supposedly their version of an old fashioned. Hopefully they find a bartender who can measure properly. When asking for a big rock (Which I thought thought would be standard) they scoffed at me (???). Upon getting my hades burger, I notcied it was raw and had tomato on it (which I requested to be taken off). Maybe it really was from hades. I noticed the manager (a shorter, latin looking man) seemingly talking down to another table who had service issues. Yet when an employee came up asking for help he seemed to be aloof. Overall me and my wife will not be dining here again unless there is a drastic change in the enviornment. At least they were playing basketball on the TV. Went here for lunch today for the first time, and never again Food was tasty and came out in a reasonable amount of time. The French onion soup was alright but more like a chili, the salad was fresh served, chilled but rather small for six dollars. The balsamic vinegar, salad dressing was very good. I also had a iced tea that was excellent and brewed fresh and served with a fresh lemon wedge. My one star review is based on the bartenders service, which was nonexistent. It started off with no silverware and had to wait to get some before I could eat. He could obviously see my ice tea was empty, but did not refill it because he was too busy on his cell phone. He stood at the end of the bar playing on his cell phone never asked how my food was or refilled my drink until I asked him to. Then when the bill came, he rounded it up to the Restaurants favor and shorted me 70 cents. With the cost of food restaurants are charging these days a restaurant should never keep the change in their favor. I did not say nothing to him but I also did not leave a tip. His tip was the 70 cents He shorted me, And believe me that was more than enough for his service. From now on, I will keep going to Houlihan's just down the street . This place is great. The food is terrific. I particularly like the Strawberry Fields Salad. It is always fresh and filled with a bunch of ingredients that I like. Decor is very nice. Seating is comfortable and roomy. Service was exceptional. Friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. We had the nachos appetizer, large portion and the beer cheese was delicious. Draft beer was really cold and served in a frosted glass. We had the bang bang shrimp tacos, the ribeye sandwich, a bbq burger and the wings. The burger and shrimp were amazing. The fries and sweet potato fries were very tasty. The ribeye sandwich was good, but I would probably skip it and order something different next time. Our server, Diana, was the best. The wing portion seemed small, however the menu was somewhat deceptive, it appeared that you were getting 12 or 16 wings, but you actually get however many wings make up the weight that is listed. I asked about the amount and then realized I misunderstood. Diana took it upon herself, to bring us an extra plate of wings. Totally unnecessary, but definitely appreciated! Been waiting to try this place finally did I got the steak salad ($16) the steak was so over cooked it was as hard as a brick very tough and hard to eat not to mention it was like 5 strips of steak nothing special about it didn't even seem like a flat iron . I usually do not write reviews as I find people who do regularly to be absolutely insufferable. So let me be insufferable for a second, because this experience was haunting. Beautiful restaurant, very clean, aesthetically pleasing, I'll give them that. I came with my family, it was like 4 of us. We ordered two appetizers, the cauliflower and as well as an order of bone in wings. Sounds promising. WRONG! The cauliflower was tolerable, but there was approximately like 6 pieces which was very hard to disperse throughout my family. The wings, they were dreadful. It tasted like blended up cardboard with some mid at best sauce to cover up that atrocity. I hate complaining at restaurants, I feel bad for the server as my husband and I used to work at a restaurant way back when. So we gave the main food another chance. BIG MISTAKE! I will say all of the food was extremely presentable, good enough for a pinterest post but not for my stomach and taste buds. The meatloaf was a travesty, the kids pizza has to be from one of those lunch-able kits, the steak salad was okay but the dressing was so spicy when I stood up to leave I nearly fainted. The only thing that was good was the kids chicken tenders, we unfortunately had to steal from one of the kids plate as we were starved because we refused to finish that atrocious meal. The service was good though, we don't have many complaints about that. Except there was one bartender or server who was obviously vaping or smoking some type of thing. Which is fine we don't judge, but in front of customers is just craziness. Why do you guys allow that? It is painfully obvious they are understaffed as those poor servers are running all over the place with little to no help. I think you guys should attempt to hire more people, and maybe work on that menu because, wow what a rotten and nightmare the food was. We did want to ask for a manager, we swallowed our pride. But the poor server was so busy she had no time to stop at the table for that interaction. It's shocking. This place has extreme potential, but it seems the owners are careless, and selfish. How could you let your staff run around like chickens with their heads cut off? How can you let multiple teary eyed employees slide? If you guys started prioritizing the restaurant itself rather than your own personal gratification, I promise you this place would do incredible. It's just laziness. I can see it as the food is unique and so many options, and like I said presentable. But I fear you guys would rather SEEM like a good restaurant than be a good restaurant. Just some food for thought. I will not be returning, but I hope you guys figure this out. You have a fighting chance with hard working employees my husband and I believe, but with lazy and careless and unserious management it won't work. We saw management we believe to be at least sitting in booths and messing around, while their employees needed help. It's sad to see. I don't think anyone here is a bad person, but you guys obviously have your priorities all wrong. Maybe we are biased as we used to serve and we sympathize with the service workers. The host greeted us and sat us right away at a high top in the bar area. After sitting at our table for over ten minutes without a server coming over acknowledging our presence or letting us know that they would be right with us my party of three decided to move to the bar in hopes of better service. The woman behind the bar must have been the manager and barely knew what the beer was my friend ordered once she eventually took our order. We put in some pretzel sticks and fries for an appetizer that took over 40 minutes to come out. The pretzels were great but the parmesan garlic fries were not tossed and were just drenched with the sauce on top which made them very soggy and we were not able to eat them. There were only two other people at the bar and not many tables seated in the dining room. We ordered meals that also took over 40 minutes to come out. The manager was chit chatting with someone at the bar about how many guests today were complaining about the slow service for us bar patrons to hear. Our food eventually came out and we were never asked if we needed anything else and the next time anyone came around we were finished and asked for boxes and the check. We were never asked how anything was. Other than the fries appetizer the food and quality was good but the service was pretty bad. We were there for over an hour and a half and the service was just awful for a restaurant that was not busy. Alexis was eventually our bartender after who I assumed the manager was, was no longer behind the bar. Alexis was really nice and had good customer service skills but the restaurant overall needs better management. read more

My husband, our daughter and I ate here yesterday. It was my third time here since they opened. We had the 3 dips appetizer which was amazing. Our server (Violet who was awesome) even brought us extra pita bread. My husband had a burger, I had the grilled cheese and our daughter had the Greek flatbread. Everything was perfect. Great food with a culinary flair. Chimichanga cheesecake dessert is outstanding. We've been regulars at their new Naperville location. Our daughter has Celiac's and requires gluten free. When we inquired about gluten free the manager personally came to our table to discuss the menu options with her. They have gluten-free buns. But our daughter was hoping to have the Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos. The manager went back to the kitchen and confirmed that they had corn shells. The gluten-free Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos were delicious. My family and I went to Spartan Ale House a few weeks ago and each got a different type of sandwich. My husband got the buffalo chicken sandwich which was huge! My child and I both had sandwiches on a pita which were not very big but enough to be filling. Our food tasted good but the reason for my 3 star review is because they charged us an additional $5.50 each for our sides. On the menu it states that the sandwiches come with "a choice of one side." We all chose the Mac & Cheese which is listed on the menu under sides. Nowhere on the menu did it say that Mac & Cheese wasn't included or that there would be an up-charge for this choice. We did not get any other side with our sandwiches. It was our mistake to not check over our bill until after we left so we could have questioned the charge at the time. I did send an email to them inquiring about this to see if this was correct or if they possibly made a mistake charging us for these sides as it added an additional $16.50 to our bill. I sent my email to them nearly 3 weeks ago and they have not responded at all. There are many good restaurants in the area--next time I will go someplace else. read more
