I ended up getting 10 and it lasted me another meal (I'm also a female and 5'1, so I can't say my appetite is too huge, but my boyfriend ate 6 and he was pretty full). We also got the Cajun fries to share! Now, I'm not gonna lie, these fries were very salty. So salty that I don't think we're gonna get fries with seasoning next time because they were quite salty! The lemon pepper wings were pretty salty too, which might be why I got full so fast cause I needed to drink HELLA water to wash it down. Now, I must also mention, we did want to eat there at first, but there were hella ants on the side tables and it was giving me the heebie-jeebies, so we ate in our car instead (always keep food trays in your car, gang!) The location is just off the Hutchinson Parkway exit, so parking can be a bit difficult. With all of this said, when it comes to Wingstop, Buffalo, wild wings, and House of Wings, I gotta give it to House of Wings on taste. The wings really were good, and despite what I mentioned above, I would still be coming through again to try different flavors. And yes, that's despite the ants we saw. If it were roaches, you'd never see me in there again. Hopefully they can figure out the ant issue.

To start, we shared the crispy brussel sprouts Charleston style. These were delicious with the tangy sauce and large flakes of parmesan cheese. For my main, I had the brunch wrap. It comes with chips, but I swapped for fries for an additional charge. The wrap was a good size; I had half and saved the rest for leftovers. It was tasty, but not a ton of flavor. The tater tots were nice and crispy and I enjoyed the fresh tomatoes and avocado. They gave me a huge portion of crinkle cut fries, which also would've been great with a little more seasoning, but they were good when dipped in mayo. My husband got the shrimp and grits and appreciated the large portion size as well. I had a lemonade to drink. It was refreshing since it wasn't overly sweet. Service was great. I look forward to trying the rest of the menu!

Just as their tagline goes, this is undoubtedly a great place to get burgers, beer and grub. It's a…read moresomewhat small place with a great array of options, especially for lunch and brunch. Aesthetically, each table feels like a meal at a family dinner table; it's clear that they wanted that vibe to be translated, and it's done quite well. This is also supported by the service being very friendly and helpful in general. To eat, I had the French toast burger with sweet potato fries. Some others with me had various sides like regular fries and tater tots, and the same thing was present on them that tends not to be at most places: they were all perfectly salted/seasoned. It might seem immaterial, but it's a very good signal when something that simple--yet often neglected in favor of just using condiments to mask it--is executed well. If you're a burger place with fries that taste great without the need for a sauce or condiment, you're doing something right. The French toast burger was likewise fantastic, combining sweet and savory in a great way. To drink, we all got a communal pitcher of the only frozie they had available at the time: a kind of jungle juice vodka slushie. It, too, was great--worthy of multiple rounds. All in all, here's a place that I can't wait to give another visit.

But last we were in the owner appeared to have instructed the wait staff to come and tell me that outside water bottles were not allowed in the restaurant. I mean it was warm, I have a condition I am battling that requires constant hydration and so I always have a 16 or 20oz water bottle in my hand. I eat out probably 500 times a year for the last say 25 years so say more than 10000 eat outs and have never been hassled about drinking water I had in process to stay healthy, so this is kind of an extreme outlier to me. We haven't been back since and likely won't ever go back even though we live in the neighborhood, since it just so destroyed the vibe to be hassled over a 50 cent bottle of water. We generally tip 30 to 40% even on $100 plus bills so it is just in my view a dumb business decision to hassle over something like that and lose what I would guess is $2500 in revenue from this customer a year. For sure the owner can run the business however he wants, but doubt the hassling behavior is increasing revenue for him.

My more recent experience was with delivery. Overall, I was still very pleased with the food. The burgers seem to be a guaranteed slam dunk. My pulled pork was very tasty, but in comparison to the size of the burgers, it felt a little more mediocre. I was blown away by the size of the chicken sandwich, and I would definitely consider getting that next time.

(By "real" I mean wood smoked as opposed to grilled and slathered in sauce like most "bbq" places). Westchester has a hard time keeping barbecue restaurants in business (Revenge, Whole Hog Cafe, Dickie's, etc) so I'm hoping to keep this one in business :) I'm in Riverdale and the closest thing we have to real barbecue is a local gastropub (BAH is great in a pinch), therefore I'm very happy that STG partnered with Toast to do deliveries. We've ordered a few times and aside from one bumpy experience we've been very happy with STG. The Brisket stands up to delivery and doesn't dry out, the pulled pork / ribs / pork belly are all winners, and the Chicken and the Chicken wings hold their own against the traditional stars of barbecue. Lastly their Cornbread isn't a dried out puck rather it's moist and fluffy. We're ordering about once a week at this point because it's so good.

Only problem is they ILLEGALLY surcharge you when you use a debit card. Debit cards are NOT supposed to be surcharged like credit cards per state law (all 50 states actually). When mentioned they simply say they apply the surcharge to both. Duh. That's why I mentioned it. "No, it is not legal to surcharge debit card transactions, as all major card brands explicitly prohibit it to protect consumers from unexpected fees. Surcharging debit cards is illegal in the United States and can lead to hefty fines, penalties, and termination of the merchant's processing agreement. Why surcharging debit cards is illegal Card brand rules: All major card networks forbid adding surcharges to debit card payments, regardless of how the transaction is processed (as debit or credit). Consumer protection: These rules are in place to protect consumers from extra, unexpected fees when using their debit cards.
