It was a great place and I'm sure they have great food but I was burned by the sizzling tofu grease flying from the "presentation " :( I'd go back but I wouldn't get that dish. I had small burns on my chest and face :( (you can see the grease all splattered on the table) My waiter didn't ask me if it was my first time there and didn't make any initial recommendations. I just scrolled yelp looking for ideas. However, the table beside me (with patrons that advised they frequent other locations) were given suggestions, recommendations, and more. I guess I had a cold reception that heated up later with first degree burns other people seemed to enjoy their meals though. Also, if you bite a sizzling (oil fried) tofu the hot oil will splash into the back of your throat. I did send them an email about this but it's been 24 hours with no response :( I want to like this place. I'm sure there's good food. I left quickly because I was close to tears from the burn stings and running to a train. #ouchy I thought it would be like a cast iron sizzle I didn't think it was deep fried/hot oil

First time here, ofcourse so excited to see a full vegetarian menu ( such a rare thing ). Server was very warm and suggested the popular options. Service was very quick. Everything we ordered was happily cleaned off, so spicy and delicious , exactly what we were looking for. Would highly recommend.

The food was delicious, we got DanDan Noodles with tofu and it was very flavorful and the tofu nice and crisp. The ambiance was nice, a bit small and humid but that's expected in NYC. It seemed like our waitress wasn't listening to our preferences, and once she got our food order we didn't really see her again until we were ready to pay. The people filling water were attentive at least, and the man who served us the food and mixed the noodles for us was friendly and informative.

Solid spot for vegan schezuan food. Beware the nomenclature, they'll list it as small plates menu but its anything but small. Portions are huge. My boyfriend and I share cumin fries, general tsos mushroom, dandan noodles and chili wontons. The only thing that could use improving was the service, it took forever fo get our order taken, we didn't see our waiter for a really longer time

Szechuan Fried Rice container with hair on the side.

Ordered Szechuan fried rice and fries for $45. There was a hair in my container. I was also trying to order pickup online, but the website wouldn't allow me to login to accrue reward points. First time ordering from this location. Do not think I will be returning here.

I've been to two other Spicy Moon locations, and this one for me takes the cake! Something about the Dan Dan noodles and the kung pao tofu here was incredible and so so flavorful. The food came out super fast too, which was greatly appreciated as we were quite hungry.

This is my second time at Spicy Moon. First time at their Chelsea Location. Spicy Moon is the elegant vegan Asian fusion restaurant with many varieties of food . I go with the Kung Pao with tofu and vegan beef with white rice. The Kung Pao was delicious remind me of general Tso style. My go to is the chopped cheese spring rolls and the vegetable dumplings. Big shoutout to hector for his excellent service. The ambience is amazing for a dinner/ date . I will definitely recommend it. Thank you for the chocolate gnache it were delicious .

Spicy Moon in Chelsea definitely has its strong points, especially if you love bold flavors and a lively atmosphere. My boyfriend and I came on a busy Saturday night without a reservation, so we took two seats at the bar. Honestly, it worked out just fine. The bartender was fantastic- super friendly, incredibly competent, and you could just tell he knew his craft. Even without ordering cocktails, we still felt taken care of. We were doing a little mini vegan food tour, so we kept it simple. We started with the spring rolls and they were delicious. Crispy, hot, and paired with a really addictive spicy mayo that made the whole bite pop. You only get 2 for 8 dollars, and while they were great, I do wish they included at least one more. (But this is NYC, after all!) For our entrée we split the chili glass noodles with vegan beef (beyond beef). The dish had potential and was definitely flavorful, but it was so spicy and incredibly salty. I'm almost convinced there's MSG in that dish because the saltiness overpowered everything. It was tasty, but so intense that I couldn't imagine eating it as a full meal on its own. I found myself wishing there were more noodles to help balance it out. The ambience is dark and moody with good music and a nightclub lighting aesthetic. The bar also had movies playing on the TVs which added to the vibe. Overall, Spicy Moon has a fun atmosphere and some standout dishes, but this particular entrée was a bit too salty for my taste. Still, the service and vibe definitely made the experience enjoyable!

    Vegetable Lo Mein

Yet another Spicy Moon in the city, this visit showed me that the menu has gotten even bigger but the hits are still there. The drink menu is creative and I really enjoyed the ube mule, sweet and ginger-forward. There's a happy hour from 4-7PM and then a reverse happy hour from 9:30PM onwards on Friday & Saturday. HH has some apps, wine/beer and well drinks but not cocktails. As for food - you have to get one of the big plates where you can pick your protein and the style. The kung pao style tofu is a favorite of mine, and you're able to modify the spice level from 1-10. I went with a five and it was just a slight kick, nothing that was mouth numbing. There's a mix of tofu and vegetable pieces, but I wish there was more tofu than fried veg. The lo mein was a bit oily without as much flavor as I would have hoped. We also tried the cheesesteak spring rolls which actually tasted exactly as described - an interesting fusion item on the menu. Make a reservation if you're coming at peak dining hours, otherwise you can usually be seating quickly without one if you come on the early or later end.

A bit less classy ambiance than the ones in West village, but still amazing food experience. This time, we had the dandan noodles which are delicious! The general tso "chicken" is okay. While the fried eggplants are cut too big for consumption. Lovely time as always, the servers are quite nice! Will be back!

Pleasant vegan meal with good cocktails The ambiance of the room is a throwback to a prior era. The food was flavorful and delicious. The vegetable wontons in spicy chili were particularly good. The cost of the meal is the primary reason why this review wasn't 5 stars. We shared multiple plates and received a rather large check. The service was attentive.

Came on a Saturday afternoon with a reservation. If you're looking for a full vegan experience, Spicy Moon is a go-to spot. Most of what we ordered leaned on the sweeter side. If you're not into sweetness, I would recommend the vegetable wonton with chili oil and scallion pancakes. My favorite were the taro fries, which were cut into thin crunchy pieces and glazed in some form of sweet syrup. I wasn't a fan of their Kung Pao "chicken" as it felt a bit too oily and overly sweet for my tastes. Highly recommend accompanying all the sweeter items with something savory like the chili oil wontons to keep the flavors balanced.

What an amazing vegan Chinese food restaurant! I loved the dan dan noodles here as well as the other food options I got. Ordered 4 dishes plus rice and that was perfect for our group. I definitely recommend doing family style here so you can try many options! The lychee martini was delicious, but strong. I'd love to come back and try more items on the menu! Service was great as well!

Sentir is 100% vegan, and I would confidently bring even my carnivore friends here without hesitation. If nobody told you it was vegan, you'd simply think you were eating some of the most creative, flavorful Mexican food you've ever had. It's that good. From the moment you walk through the doors, you can tell this isn't just another restaurant. The atmosphere is warm, stylish, and inviting without feeling pretentious. Every member of the staff was incredibly kind (thanks Camila who served us both days!), knowledgeable, and genuinely excited to talk about the menu and the other restaurants in the group. Their passion for what they do shines through in every interaction. The food completely exceeded every expectation we had. Every dish was beautifully presented, packed with bold flavors, and unlike anything we've had before. We found ourselves talking about every bite and immediately discussing what we'd come back to try... which ended up being less than 24 hours later. We were so excited by the food on our first visit that we completely forgot to take pictures! (It became a complete afterthought because we had already scarfed everything down. ) Thankfully, we redeemed ourselves on day two! The cocktails also deserve their own standing ovation. They're creative, beautifully crafted, and every bit as memorable as the food. If you're looking for a restaurant where every detail has clearly been thoughtfully considered from the atmosphere and service to the food and drinks, Sentir absolutely delivers. We travel to NYC often and almost never eat at the same restaurant twice because there are so many amazing places to try. The fact that we chose to come back the very next day says everything you need to know. Sentir has officially earned a permanent spot on our "must visit" list every time we're in that part of the city. What We Ate (and absolutely LOVED): Sentir Guac - Easily one of the freshest and most flavorful guacamoles we've ever had. It was served with chips and a deep fried tofu that was reminiscent of a "chicken skin" or something along those lines. I've never tried anything like it and it was good and unique! Carne Asada Tacos - Perfectly seasoned with amazing texture and incredible flavor. Al Pastor Chicken Tacos - Sweet, savory, smoky, and absolutely delicious. Cream of Corn - I wasn't expecting a bowl of corn to stand out the way it did. It was warm, comforting and cheesy. I just wish it came with something to dip with. Unfortunately too much was dripping through the fork and I wanted to savor it all! Chile Rellenos - Beautifully prepared with layers of flavor in every bite. It was cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth! Tamal de Carne - Tender, comforting, and packed with incredible flavor. What We Drank: Sentir Michelada - One of the best my husband ever had. The chose Modelo as the beer Little Pitcher - This was a bunch drink. It had grapefruit & orange juice (among other things) but it was shockingly unique and dangerously easy to drink. Café con Ron - The perfect twist or play on an espresso martini but a million times better! Nutty Olivia - I believe this was on "special" and it was a mooth, creative, and another cocktail I'd order again in a heartbeat. It contains gin, which my husband doesn't like but he must have stolen at least 3 sips before I told him to worry about his own drink! Final thought: If a restaurant is good enough to make us skip trying somewhere new in New York City and instead return the very next day, that's about the highest compliment we can give. Whether you're vegan, vegetarian, or a lifelong meat eater, do yourself a favor go!!! I have a feeling you'll be planning your second visit before you even finish your first.
