Spiro's in Chesterfield is a terrific find. From the appetizers to the entrees everything was top notch from the moment we arrived. The bolognese was delicious and the server was helpful in suggesting a couple of red wine options to pair with my meal. Overall, a great experience and we will be back. Be forewarned that the Chesterfield location is different than their St. Charles location. Where Chesterfield brings the full experience, the St. Charles location has a more pared down menu with no where near the selection although the food and service is just as good. read more

We started with hummus and was great, moved to Greek salad and was delicious and refreshing, bread and butter at table along with cold water. We finished with baklava. Wonderful meal, wonderful service. We were not drinking but I did peruse their drink menus. Lovely wine selection, drinks from bar looked great. The day outside 90's hot miserable, the restaurant inside pleasant, cool, comfortable, inviting, peaceful, lighting is low. Well run. If you are from South county and love bartolinos south then this is def for you. We live rural and it is worth the drive for everything about Spiro's. This is a very interesting place. Upon arrival there are plenty of hand sanitizers! As well as all the employees wearing masks. All of the seating arrangements were made. I got the blackened chicken pasta, it was really good. I feel that it could of had a bit more seasoning. It was missing something. But it was good! And the pasta pence was also good! The presentation was beautiful! They came out with the food being warmed which too my surprise it was done well. The service from walking in the door until we left was really great! My prime rib and side vegetables were served cold on a cold plate. The server made a big deal out of don't touch the plates because they are really hot. When he later asked, was everything perfect? I said no the food and the plate was cold. He offered to redo it and I reluctantly agreed. And the redo plate food and plate was just room temperature. The food could have been edible if it was served hot or even warm. But room temperature steak and vegetables...not worth paying $$$ for. read more

Food is excellent. Pasta Pesce is awesome-perfect sauce & ingredients. Sea Bass wonderful too. Never ever can go wrong with Athenian Broil on Prime Rib and Pork chop special as well. Prices fair. Service has changed to many new faces as we are regulars for years (St Charles location), but pleasant and attentive, and happy overall as a continued go to regularly. Keep the carrot cake dessert too! We imagine as changing ownership or many employees, it takes time to update especially after impact of COVID timing, but the ambiance definitely is something to be improved, much is really worn and the shades are a little bit of a mess for presentation. I have been to Greek restaurants all across this globe and NEVER have I been so disappointed after a long time of wishing to go there. I am a huge fan of Greek food but on those occasions instead of an Entree I decided to have a couple of smaller items. I ordered the Avgolemono which although tasty was so thick and served almost at room temperature as to be almost inedible. My second choice was the Horiatiki. Here is the menu description: Horiatiki (Seasonal) Large cut tomatoes, cucumber, kalamata olives*, red onions, feta, and pepperoncini. Seasoned with oregano and tossed with olive oil and vinegar. Seasonal My dish unfortunately was not anything that resembled that. The large cut tomatoes consisted of 3 end pieces of a Roma or other tomato. There were 3 paper thin slices of red onion, 4 Kalamata olives, 8-10 round of seeded cucumber, a nice large wedge of feta and some cold wedges of pita drizzled with oil that wasn't even olive oil. The dressing was olive oil with what may have been balsamic and a few sprinkles of Oregano I contacted the restaurant and no one bothered to return either my email or call. Disgusting overpriced and tasteless. With a martini and a beer and one entree for my partner the check either a tip was 100$. Bye Spiro's. You lost six really good returning customers that evening. Long time fan of Spiro's. Tonight was a very disturbing event. Our server Carolyn and whoever the manager was, would not give us his name. Disputed and argued with our table, yes very embarrassing for all around us. Argued. Argued I mean like made me stand up and ask Really? Lied. This sucks because we have gone here for Years! Saddened and disappointed. Did not apologize for their actions. I was mortified. Nothing offered to us for this incompetency. Food is great. Avoid Carolyn and her lying manager a tall no name man. It is to die for! Our waitress, Katie, was simply the best. She made some recommendations and treated us like we were the only ones there. We like our salads with just a touch of dressing so ask for the dressing on the side. Not sure how they do it, but you can have a conversation at the table even when it is packed. read more

I've been here, many times, and it has been great, but I ordered salads to go, and they were literally just lettuce. They had none of the other ingredients. I could have gone and collected grass from my yard for less. The chicken dish was a huge disappointment, also. It was dry and flavorless. I would not recommend. The saganaki (fried cheese) is prepared tableside and is perfect. We also shared some dolmades as an appetizer before getting to the mains. Friday they had a steak special that was prepared in an open flame grill outside and also finished tableside. It was juicy and tender, seasoned very well. Decided to give this place a try and WOW, I keep getting surprised by the food in the St. Peters area. This is another Winner! Not really a good place to bring a toddler on a Friday night because the food did take some time and the plates are very hot. It is a perfect spot to go on a date and enjoy the wine and food. This is staying strong as my VERY favorite restaurant in St. Charles for at least 15 years, and it's the perfect place for a special occasion or just a nice dinner out. It has a date night atmosphere with white table cloths, The waiters wear button down shirts/ nice slacks, and are always top notch service. The food is always so flavorful and cooked to perfection! Their flaming cheese/ saganaki they make table side is one of my all time favorite foods. Their homemade Greek dressing makes their salad the BEST. The chicken skewers and rice are one of my go to dishes bc it's so good, I keep wanting to get it again and again. They also have a full bar. And if you are too full for dessert after your nice portioned dinner, (understandable), take some homemade baklava home with you! I truly don't think Spiros food could be any better! read more

I took a friend and his wife to dinner here for his birthday. I had made a reservation and we were seated very quickly. We all ordered a round of drinks and reviewed the menu. When the waiter came back he gave us several options that we're not on the menu. I was already determined to get the prime rib. My salad came out, which he mixed at the table and served it to me. I liked the little touches of "experience" that they try to provide. Is it necessary no, but it's great that they still take the time to do it. Definitely helps make it feel like more of a luxurious experience. My prime rib came out great. A touch undercooked for my liking but good. I'm never one to send it back. I was still pleased with it. We went there for dinner with another couple. The flaming cheese was excellent, melted perfectly with great flavor. The greek salad was delicious and the baklava was wonderful. The real reason I wanted to write this review was to mention all of that, but also to say that the Seafood Pasta Special was one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. The Shrimp in it were so flavorful, I can't imagine how they get such fresh tasting shrimp in the middle of Missouri. All of the seafood in the dish was great. The fettucini was cooked perfectly and the sauce had the best flavor. The only thing that saddens me is that this is not a regular menu item. Every time I go to Spiro's I will try to get this item. It's been less than 24 hours since I've eaten it and I already am craving another serving. Well done Chef. Well done Spiro's. Please make it a regular item on your menu. read more

The price is a little more expensive than that of old one.(February 27, 2018) First of all, there was a warm atmosphere, and I am grateful to our server. She talked slowly and clearly, and she repeated explanations because I am not good at English. I visited there with 4 friends at 5:30 pm on Tuesday. I booked a table beforehand, so we got a table soon, but tables were almost full soon while we were having dinner. We ordered Saganaki as an appetizer. Our server baked and flamed it beside our table, and that was like a show! We enjoyed it very much. It was a little chewy outside and creamy inside, and white wine was very good with it. It is very interesting, so please try it!! Fortunately, it was happy hour, so we ordered the Happy Hour Dinner, and we could choose soup or salad, a main dish, a dessert, and a beverage. I chose a salad, Tilapia, white wine (muscat), and Galactobouriko (Greek custard). Tilapia was cooked very well. The flavor and texture of it were like snapper or sea bream, and I loved it. The food was outstanding. Our waiter brought what could have been a five star experience down to three stars. He was abrupt, and clearly not willing to explain our questions about menu items. When we asked if he would recommend the flaming cheese appetizer his response was a quick and emphatic NO!! He took forever to deliver our St Louis mule. Just not a good dining experience for us. It's our first time here and we were blown away by how the food were served. This is the first time I've been to a restaurant where they actually heat the food in front of you. IT was amazing and is quite impressive. I know some restaurant cooks the food front of you or you cook it yourself, but this is a different experience for us. The place was quite hidden along 94 and you wouldn't notice it quickly but I'm impressed to see that they are quite packed when you come inside. It was a very pleasant experience for us. I've had worse and I've had better Greek food in the metro area. I used to eat at the Spiro's location on Natural Bridge until it closed several years ago and I haven't been since then. My wife and I decided to try the St. Charles location a few weeks ago and the food was at best underwhelming. We got gyro plates, hummus, and avgolomono soup. The soup: it was very thick, almost like a concentrate that needed water added. I've had angolomono both thick and thin but this was almost like a stew. I did enjoy the very bright real lemon flavor but that's about it Hummus: it was some really strange mixture that seemed to have a lot of ingredients mixed in with it. We weren't quite sure what but it tasted perhaps like a relish or some heavily spiced condiment. We both took a few bites and threw it away. Gyro: very very dry. The pieces were somewhat thick but they were extremely dry and beef jerky-esque. The pita also was disappointing and tasted mass produced. The Greek rice was undoubtedly instant or par-boiled and the texture and taste of such a product was very evident. I probably won't be going back any time soon. I can't say it was the worse Greek food I've ever had, but it wasn't very good to either of us. I think also important to note is that we paid roughly $70 for the meal described above. I'm fine paying that much for good food, but not this stuff. I'll stick with Albadia on Mid-Rivers instead. read more
