In the non-matcha realm, the Madagascar Vanilla Latte is one of their most popular drinks so I had to try that. Also the Jacobsen's Salted Caramel was a seasonal special that sounded delish. I loved them both! The drinks are great, the staff is excellent, the parking is metered on the street so can be difficult. But whenever I can find a spot, I pop in!

The coffee is delicious, and I especially love the creamy foam they put on top of some of their drinks--it takes them to another level. Their matcha is also fantastic: smooth, flavorful, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. Between the beautiful atmosphere, exceptional drinks, and friendly service, it's easy to see why this place has become a favorite of mine. I highly recommend it and will definitely keep coming back!

She was genuinely engaged in talking about coffee, understood the beans she was serving, and was able to answer questions without hesitation. That's becoming harder to find these days, and it definitely added to the overall experience. The cortado itself was well executed. The temperature was right where it should be, allowing the flavors to come through immediately without having to wait for the drink to cool down. I was able to clearly taste the notes in the coffee, and the balance between the espresso and milk was excellent. The body held together nicely throughout the drink and never felt thin or watered down. My only critique would be that the crema and microfoam leaned a little more matte and foamy than glossy. It wasn't enough to take away from the drink, but a slightly silkier, shinier texture would have elevated it even further. That said, this was an Ethiopian natural, which can be a bit trickier to dial in and pair with milk while still preserving the character of the coffee, so it's a fairly minor criticism. Overall, a very good cortado from a shop that clearly cares about coffee. Good execution, proper temperature, clear flavor separation, and knowledgeable staff always make for a better coffee experience.

The cortado was served a bit hotter than a cortado should be, which muted some of the flavors early on. As it cooled, the coffee became much more expressive and the Rwanda profile started to shine through. The crema and microfoam on top were also a little thicker than what I'd typically expect from a cortado, and the latte art was fairly minimal. The space itself was beautiful and a good place to hang out. The service was friendly and straightforward. Overall, the coffee was good and I would definitely return.

While you certainly can come here for lattes and matcha, what jumped out at us were their offerings of light roasted, single origin, pour over coffees in their "emerald class". I went with their light roasted "la reserva" pour over, which had nice tea-like flavors. Because they lightly roast their beans and hand pour the coffee through a V60 filter, the fruity and tea-like notes of the beans pop out in ways you can't find in dark roasts brewed through a machine. We may come by to get a latte one of these days; however, I do also want to come back to try more of their "emerald series" pour overs!
