Splash gets an A+ from me for their view on the deck and their drinks. However, the service my friends & I experienced this past weekend was absolutely terrible and the reason I'm only giving it 2 stars. We went to Splash for lunch last Saturday afternoon. We had to wait for about a half hour, which wasn't a surprise since it was lunch time at a restaurant with a deck overlooking the beach. Walking through the main dining area and onto the deck, I wondered why the wait was so long. The inside was pretty much empty, and the deck had about five open tables. Once we were seated, we waited patiently for about 20 minutes for someone to come take our drink orders. Again, this wait was odd to me since there were so many open tables on the deck. Finally, my friend went to notify the hostess we hadn't been helped yet. The waitress made her way over, barely mumbled an apology and took our drink orders. We asked for a round of waters, along with some cocktails. Our cocktails came another 15 minutes later with no waters. When the waitress took our lunch orders, we asked again for a round of waters which never came. It took about 20 minutes for our lunch to come out and when it did, we again asked for a round of waters and finally got them. I have to say I was underwhelmed with the food, which was a disappointment considering the long wait time. How long does it really take to fry fish?? Two of us ordered the fish tacos which were a little on the dry side and had to add more tartar sauce. Another friend in our party ordered the clam cakes which were very good. Other friends ordered fried clams that were just so-so. Splash was very generous with the amount of fries they gave us, but the amount of seafood was skimpy. However, our drinks were very good. Three of us split a beach bucket Raspberry Popsicle Margarita and another friend got a Pina Colada that was tasty. After we finished, we waited another 15-20 minutes for the waitress to bring us the check. We were also really disappointed to find out we didn't get to keep the beach bucket that our margarita came in. Anywhere else that has fun drinks like this in a unique container, you usually get to keep. I may consider giving Splash a second chance, given that the view on the deck is great and their drinks are delicious, but this experience definitely put a bad taste in my mouth. read more

Disappointing. This used to be my favorite place in Ogunquit. I have been going there since it was Huckleberry's. Today we went for breakfast #2 and #8. Food was good, and of course the view was magnificent. The staff seemed annoyed and definitely not wanting to there. I realize due to COVID-19 things are different and deservedly so, but if I spend 30 dollars for breakfast and eat in the establishment, I should be able to get a coffee refill! Waitress, who is stationed at a window, said sorry no refills! Also had to go up to window and ask for syrup and jelly. The waitress seemed like I was bothering her for it. Also, and this is huge!, they NEVER came OUT AND SANITIZED THE TABLES AFTER PATRONS LEFT! It was a Monday and not very busy but still the tables and chairs should be sanitized. Sad to this but this was probably the last time that I will go there. read more

This restaurant is great, because it's right on the beach. The food is really good too and not very expensive. DEFINITELY try one of the bucket drinks. It was really cute, they put the drink in a sand bucket that you would normally use at the beach.... it was HUGE & very tasty! Also, the baked brie dish and the sweet potato chips were amazing. read more

If you're looking for a beautiful spot and a quick meal, then this is your place. They are doing a good job of following Covid guidelines and the tables are spaced out well. The menu during this time is limited to mostly sandwiches, which I understand. However, I ordered a "grilled" chicken sandwich that was rubbery and chewy, and seemed boiled. No grill marks to be seen. If you're looking for a high quality meal, go elsewhere. A rude greeting and no explanation about paying ahead and picking food up at a window also did not help my experience. read more

DO NOT GO HERE FOR BREAKFAST!!!! This was by far the absolute worst place I've ever gone to for breakfast in my entire life. The spinach omelette that I had with cheddar cheese tasted like metal and my stomach hurts now even as I write this review. My husbands hash was barely cooked and obviously straight from the can. The coffee was also cold!!!! The waitresses were unable to refrain from making negative comments about every single person that sat down. It was awful. The view was lovely and I would totally recommend a glass of iced water. That's it. Drive the extra two minutes down the street and there seem to be some other super popular restaurant with patrons happily waiting outside for their turn. Blt: skimpy. Not mind blowing. But what can u expect from a Blt? Caesar salad: don't bother. Chicken was precooked and cold. Loaded with Parmesan. Pfffffff. Salmon cilantro burger: pretty good. The best thing about this place was the deck we sat on right on the beach.. Service was good very attentive. The food was average nothing to exciting or cutting edge. Normal fast foodish fried stuff few classic salads ect.. But just sitting on that deck having a drink and enjoying the sea breeze was pretty awesome! I have been coming to splash @ the Norseman beach resort before I think it was called splash! Splash is the perfect Americana nostalgic beach bar restaurant! Right off the beach wet suits & sand - you can tidy up and sit on their gorgeous ocean front balcony or if need some air conditioning or on chillier Maine days there is also friendly indoor seating and a very cute and friendly bar that serves beach perfect frozen piña coladas and rum punches & such. The menu has a nice selection that includes the stables like clam chowder & a great lobster roll- and terrific fresh fried clams & haddock - and their fish tacos are a must try. They are one of the few local restaurants that offers a selection of big delicious salads and you can also get broiled less fattening fish & seafood entrees. The casual after beach atmosphere is terrific. But the amazing staff lead by PJ - is really something not found all over in this sometimes full of itself little tourist town- they often greet seasonal return guest by name! Myself included- this year - I even got a hug! Not only is this my go to place in town for first class hospitality and great drinks & eats - it is the best seat in town for the July 4th fireworks- shhhh. I better go early now! Xoxo read more

Best view in Ogunquit! Service was quick and friendly, Great drinks, and great food. The sweet potato chips were absolutely delicious, mainly because of the dipping sauce on the side. I headed over to Splash to grab lunch and enjoy the view, and it did not disappoint! I had a delicious lobster roll, one of the best in recent memory. There was a ton of lobster meat, with just a little mayo so you could really enjoy the meat. It was served on a toasted hot dog bun, just the way it should be! My awesome waiter, Jeff, also convinced me to try the Belfast Bay Lobster Ale and it was the perfect accompaniment. I highly recommend giving Splash a try. read more

You can't beat the view or location of this place; but thats about the only good thing about the place! The food is very overpriced, quality is very 'snack bar', and I literally had the worst service I have EVER had; it pained me to even tip 15%. Do yourself a favor and take the 5 mins walk into town for a decent meal and stay away from here!! I will never be back. read more

Although we did not come for a "proper meal", we did enjoy snacks and drinks directly on the beach, probably the best place to do so in Ogunquit. The server was awesome (her name is Catherine, ask for her by name). Considering everything, prices are very reasonable and quality is more than acceptable. read more

We have lunch at Splash every time we visit. I always get an extra spicy Bloody Mary and Lobster Roll. The food is not mind blowing... But the location/atmosphere and drinks are good. The staff is always friendly! And the sweet potato chips are amazing! Substitute them for fries- they rock! read more

I didn't think there were any bad restaurants in town. I was wrong! The only reason this place gets a star is because there isn't a no star option. I got the clams. They came out burned and tasted horrible. I couldn't even finish them. Totally gross. My daughter got the hot dog. Half way through the meal she asked what the gray circle was on the bottom of her roll. It was a circle of mold larger than the size of a quarter. How do you serve something like this? Is the cook blind? Unacceptable! Nice view. OK service. Horrible food. Avoid this place if you can! read more

I have eaten at Splash many times over the years with little or no complaints. BUT, lunch there this past week was awful! "Classic cheeseburger" was the worse that I have ever had in my long life, and I found it dishonestly represented by the menu. "Toasted" bun showed very slight signs of being toasted; rather, it was cold and right out of the bag. The burger patty - presented by the menu to be 6 oz. - was thin, cooked to death (ordered medium), dry and barely edible. As a trained chef, I'm guessing that it was more like McDonald's 2 or 3 oz. and certainly NOT 6 oz. as claimed...and, worse than any McDonald's burger ever! Because I was the guest of friends, I chose not to say anything. Ate some of the burger and left the rest. I did feel badly that friends were paying $10 for a bad fast-food-type burger. Pasta salad was adequate but certainly nothing special. Actually, hardly a "salad," since it was basically the pasta with a bottled dressing. French fries were terrific as they usually are at Splash. I also want to say that I usually have salads at Splash which are always wonderful creations - ample and beautifully presented. I will continue to eat at Splash but will not be as tolerant as I was this time! read more

$10 for a turkey sandwich to go is not unreasonable except when it's made with one piece of turkey on it! If your ordering take out from here check your sandwich before leaving the restaurant. I wish I had! read more

If you're an early morning breakfast-goer, you would be better off waiting the extra hour for Charlie's restaurant next doors to open. This place may have a great location on the beach but their service is awful and the food is nothing to get excited about. Our waitress acted like she could care less about us as customers. my two requests (1. To cut the sandwich in half 2. To fill my water bottle) were received by an annoyed 'huff'. DO NOT order the blueberries. They are not Maine berries, but rather slimy gross canned blueberries. Probably a good place to go for beach drinks but I'll find a different place for food next time. read more

We are staying at the Norseman which is connected to Splash. The food was decent and it is a convenient location, but we had such a bad experience, I had to share. One of the waitresses, Sue, was so incredibly rude to us we will not being going back. We came down for breakfast to meet up with our family and it was a rainy cold morning so there were only two tables in the restaurant. Sue told us in the most aggressive way that we could not sit with our family. The hostess and other waitresses were trying to accommodate us, but Sue came charging towards our table telling us we could not sit together. I worked in restaurants and would not cause added stress to a wait staff and/or ask for anything unrealistic, but we were just asking to sit with our family and the restaurant was dead. It was the most ridiculous experience. We all have bad days, I get that, but come on Sue what's your deal? We are on vacation and Splash is conveniently located to where we are staying, but Sue was so nasty and made us so uncomfortable we cannot go back. The rest of the staff was wonderful, but management needs to give Sue some much needed training or help her find another career where customer service is not needed. Until Sue gets some much needed training, check out Front Porch or Jackie Too for awesome food and amazing customer service. Life's too short Sue, be nice! read more

Splash is a must visit stop on every trip we make to Ogunquit. It overlooks the beach, and therefore the view is unparalleled. More to the point, we love the salads and the frozen and non-frozen drinks. You won't go wrong here. The service is fast and friendly. read more

Went there this past Saturday,we went to check out the breakfast, we got seated right away, the host was great, she got us coffee quickly and said the waitress would be right over. Ten minutes later she came over and took our order. Forty minutes later still no breakfast, waitress explained that another table ordered pancakes and it took up all the room on the grill, ten minutes later still no breakfast so we got up and walked out. I think for a place at the beach that offers take out they offer pretty good food at fairly reasonable prices. The help is nice. I especially liked the pasta salad side dish with my sandwich. Worth a try read more
