The aroma from the parking lot was heavenly. The locals must know something special about this place because there was a decent line when we walked in. We ordered the spicy fried chicken dish and Dan Dan noodles. The chicken was juicy and flavorful but not spicy. It came with a side of kimchi (there's also an option for cucumber salad) that was solid. The Dan Dan noodles were overcooked but still very good once mixed in with the ground pork and spices. This place is super popular! There was a line when we arrived but it moved fairly quickly. The wait for the food was not super long, but they did forget part of our order. I thought that the tacos and ma la noodles were the best! The flavors were very vibrant and everything just tasted great. It was a little pricey, but not outrageous. This was a highly recommended spot in Bend! The space was full of greenery and twinkle lights. Sooo cute, and we got really lucky coming in on a weekday, so we scored a seat at those cute booths. You order and pay first then sit down, so I thought the service was okay. We got the Spicy Fried Chicken with kimchi (I would probably skip the kimchi & go for the cucumber salad as it was lacking in flavor). The chicken had good flavor, but it wasn't spicy at all. The Thai Steak Salad was my favorite! Great flavor, steak cooked well, overall a refreshing dish that was packed with flavor. The Shrimp & Pork Belly Yellow Curry had authentic Thai yellow curry flavor, but I do wish it was a tad creamier. Had a good amount of toppings on it. I had high expectations for this place because of all the recs I got for it and I feel like overall it was average. We ordered Dan Dan noodles which were the best of what we ordered. The pork and peanuts were good flavor but they were kind of separate from the noodles in a way and needed maybe a sauce or something to make it one cohesive dish. Shrimp and pork belly yellow curry. The fried shrimp in this was real good but if you didn't have a bite with a shrimp or pork belly then it was kind of bland. Not super curry flavoring. Out of all of the food in Oregon, this is by far the best place that we have come across. We would move to this state just for this restaurant. Spork is a fun, unique spot! It will likely be pretty busy whenever you visit, but I think they manage the line and seating well. The staff were all very nice and friendly. The food is hit or miss depending on what you order and your preferences. Winners for us were the wings (with a great cucumber salad) and the ribs. This place is easily one of the most popular restaurants in Bend if not THE most popular. We entered and quickly realized that the line was from one end of the restaurant to the other. We queued up because I doubted we'd have another shot of trying this restaurant. We waited for about 15/20 minutes before luckily, one of the servers told us that the bar had two seats that just freed up and we snagged it. We ordered some african curry, noodles and fried chicken and everything tasted pretty good. The rice was not good though, just tasted like powdery carbs. I've been to Spork a handful of times now, and it's never disappointed! Every meal has been so good that I always forget to take photos. Here's what I recommend ordering: The Crunchy Apple Salad (hands down the best salad I've had in Bend -- my sweet, fresh treat I look forward to every time), the Chicken Tinga Tacos, and the Spicy Shrimp Taco. My friend and I usually get two tacos each and split the salad -- plus, we can't resist adding the chips and salsa. If you're craving something warm and comforting, the Coconut Green Curry and Dan Dan Noodles are both epic -- rich, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. Finding a parking spot nearby can be difficult. The line once you enter lets you know how much people like this place. My son lives here, and he knew printed menus were up near the counter, so we were able to look those over. Now it would appear that seating is a free for all; we had a party of five, and I was relieved that someone was going along checking how many in each party....once we ordered, they had saved us a table already arranged for five. Anyway, the food. I ordered the DanDan noodles and the 'very special' special Yuzu Fried Shrimp. My son had the Shrimp/Pork Belly curry, and wife the Banh Mi. Food is delivered as it comes out, so some waited longer than others. My DanDan noodles, just didnt quite hit the mark. The ground pork wasnt 'on top' it was on the bottom. I mixed it up myself. I felt the seasoning needed something but couldnt put my finger on it. My son reported his curry was 'ok', same remark with my wifes Banh Mi. The Yuzu Fried Shrimp tho, was delightful, and even more so when we discovered halfway thru the there was this incredible sauce in the bottom. They really should put them in different containers so you can dip the shrimp in that wonderful sauce. Drinks, even the non-alcoholic ones, are really spendy here. The side salad and the fried cheese balls were also delicious. The fried chicken was probably my favorite I won't lie! This restaurant is very clean, Minimal waste based (I'm obsessed) and the person who took our order was so nice! First time visiting Bend, Oregon, and this was one of the top-rated places we found on Yelp. The interior design of the restaurant was really nice--full of life from all the plants and an overall chill vibe. Unfortunately, that was the only highlight of our visit. We ordered the fried wonton nachos, and considering it's a fusion restaurant, I expected the food to burst with flavor--but that wasn't the case. All I could taste was the cheese garnish and green onions. My wife ordered the carnitas sando and was also disappointed, as it had little to no flavor. On top of that, the staff seemed to ignore us at the counter when we tried to order. It wasn't until I approached the touchpad myself that someone finally helped. The food was wonderful, full of flavor and taste. Spork is a great mix of Thai fusion with fun takes on a lot of classic foods. We went on a Tuesday and it was packed, so be prepared to wait, but definitely worth it. I will say as a first time patron, the order before you sit down was a bit confusing, especially since we had kids and they had to stay in line with us for over 40 minutes. The ambience is fun, but very busy and a bit chaotic. Spork is a classic fan favorite of ours in Bend. They are creative, consistent, and fun combinations that are absolutely delicious. I have nothing much to add. - In my experience, just about every menu item is crafted with a high degree of culinary care. You may not prefer some of them but if so, it's probably a matter of personal taste not preparation. - Seating is varied in a good way. Sit at the bar, in one of the cubbies, at a high top or at a lo top, they have it all. - Spork can get busy with long lines to order and few tables available. The mark of a popular restaurant, so maybe adjust your timing to go when its not so busy. - Prices are reasonable given the times. - Service tends towards excellent. Highly recommended. read more

Had a great lunch experience eating at Spork. You go through the menu and order up front. They bring to your table when done. We started with yuca chips with a chili mayo to dip. It was delicious. Perfectly, lightly fried chips with a great dipping sauce. Enough for two to share. We both got the tacos. Two fried shrimp, carnitas, and chicken tinga. Was very excited to return to this place after a great meal a year ago but it has gone significantly downhill. The food was barely edible. The peanut curry seemed like some pieces of chicken were barely cooked and still a little pink. Thankfully there was a lime on the side and that was the only thing that saved the dish and gave it any flavor. The kids noodle bowl was the driest thing I have ever seen. It's like they used one drop of sauce. With all the amazing restaurants in bend this is definitely over rated and we will not be giving it another try. On top of the food the music was TERRIBLE! tldr; I like the spicy pork chicken, pay before seating. Decided to drop by here after watching the annular eclipse earlier this morning. Place has great decor and amazing service. There was a queue to line up, and someone came by to hand out menus. Once in front, I ordered and paid - you may want to get ready to calculate a service charge. Once done, they'll guide you where to sit. Each table will have a special tag on it like a stamp, but if you sit in the communal area they'll give you your own. You'll have to pick up your own utensils. I asked someone for a straw and they brought it to me. They also went the extra mile to say that the communal table Id be assigned was going to be filled up with a large group soon and she kindly relocated me to a 2-seater table and arranged for my tag to be reprogrammed. Pink Lemonade - 4/5 - nice little drink, no complaints Spicy pork noodles 5/5 - this is amazing! It's filled with tasty ingredients. I like a good amount of spice, and this was well done. Spork has been on my "to try" list for years and it was so worth the wait! You stand in line, order at the counter, they assign you a table and bring the food to your table when it's ready. The atmosphere is warm and eclectic. The service is friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about the food choices. We ordered a number of dishes to share at the table. The Bahm Mi was one of the best I've had. The bread was a perfect baguette-crisp crust, soft chewy crumb. The pork was flavorful and moist and pickled veggies were refreshing. I would have liked a bit more jalapeño but I love spice. The Dan Dan noodles are full of so many rich flavors and a nice amount of spice love the fresh veggies and seasoned nuts on top. I could literally write a symphony about the shrimp tacos. Really the best I have had. The crispy shrimp so well flavored complimented by crisp slaw and wrapped in a corn tortilla. Everything we had was excellent but the show stopper was the crispy rice salad. It was a seasonal special-crispy rice, honey crisp apples, greens, bean sprouts- all so delicious and unexpected.
