~ Harvest $14.45 ~ Rating: 3.5/5 Some of the cutest desserts ever The "plant" dessert features a delightful combination of soft cheesecake, chiffon cake, whipped cream, and strawberries, topped with Oreo crumbs. You pour milk tea over it to complete the dessert. While the flavors are nice, pouring the milk tea over everything resulted in a pool of liquid dessert and lost all textures. The raspberry sorbet doesn't complement the "plant" well but is enjoyable on its own. ~ Golden Toast $14.45 ~ Rating: 3.75/5 It's hard to go wrong with honey toast! The crust is golden crispy and sweet, though it would be even better if the inside were fluffier. It's delicious when paired with vanilla ice cream and strawberries! ~ Kanom Sai Sai $14.45 ~ Rating: 1.5/5 This dessert was disappointing! The coconut cake was stale and hard. Although the shredded coconut added a nice touch, it couldn't salvage the dessert. The sauce drizzled on top was overly sweet and lacked pandan flavor. The mango sorbet was nice but nothing special. - - - - - - - - - Will I be back? Likely not Slightly on the pricer side, and nothing to write home about.

Looking for Western-style desserts with Eastern flavors? Spot Dessert Bar is a popular dessert cafe with signature and seasonal desserts with multiple locations throughout NYC. Their East Village location is the most popular and the wait can be long, but I tried the LIC location and there was no wait on a Saturday afternoon. I've also seen long waits at their Flushing location. The Matcha Lava, Harvest, and Golden Toast are their most popular signature desserts, and my friend raved about the Golden Toast so I had to try it. It's a huge slice of toast, toasted to perfection with a generous amount of butter. The warm toast contrasts the cold creamy ice cream and there's strawberries to break up the butteriness. The dessert was a good portion to share between two people after lunch elsewhere, and I'm glad the LIC location didn't have a wait. The dessert was delicious, but it did feel a little basic. Next time if I were to stop by again with friends, I'd opt for one of the seasonal items because it incorporates more unique Eastern flavors, such as the autumn yuzu trifle or kabocha pie. The seasonal menu for fall winter 23 is about to end, so I look forward to their spring 24 menu coming out!

Amazing experience. Incredible desert as well as serive and introduction to our dessert We had the Autumn yuzu triffle and it was reaaaaally good. As most asians would praise a dessert, it wasn't too sweet! Just perfect! How the desert was presented with the server performing every single step to make it was also super nice. Would def come back!

This is the spot! For dessert that is! Finally got to try this place after an early dinner. There was a 15ish min wait which we expected. We just sat outside until there was availability. Once inside, we saw how truly popular this place was! Packed inside but we managed to get seated at a table away from the door. It can get a bit cramped and loud so maybe not for a quiet date night. We ordered the matcha lava since it combined two of our favorites... matcha & chocolate. The presentation was nice & service was fast. It is a chocolate lava cake with matcha ice cream. Very good! They have a restroom. Not wheelchair accessible.

Food (5/5): We got the seasonal Watermelon Dacquoise, Durian De-luxe, and Milky Puff. I particularly liked the Watermelon Dacquoise which was super fresh and nicely sweet. The Durian De-luxe was surprising a bit sour and not my favorite but alright. The Milky Puff was a solid choice and quite good. Service (5/5): Desserts came out fast and servers were friendly. No issues with service. Ambiance (5/5): Cute cafe-like atmosphere. Seating is limited so there might be a long wait at times.

My friends and I stopped by here after dinner for some dessert. The line was insane and out the door but we were able to put our name down. You can track your spot with a link they provide which is really useful, we walked around Saint Marks place, and came back when it was our turn. Seating is abysmally crowded and small. The chairs are really tiny and there's literally no space between tables. The ambience is just crowded. There's no lighting or design in the space that would alleviate the feeling of just being jam packed. So, if you were considering coming here as a post-date dessert stop, you might want to consider someplace a little bit more romantic and less crowded. My friend and I ordered the golden toast and the potted plant raspberry cheesecake. The golden toast is one of the best things I've eaten in a while, I loved the crunchy, pillowy and sweet texture of the toast paired with the cream and condensed milk ice cream. This dessert is absolute perfection. 10/10 The cheesecake, however left a lot to be desired. I found the whole flavor profile to be totally off. The chai flavored milk with the Oreo and cream cheese and raspberry. It's just not a delicious combination. The sorbet is another odd addition to the entire flavor profile. No doubt, it is a genius presentation and it looks pretty real like an actual potted plant but what it presents on the plate it totally lacks in flavor. I was expecting a lot more from a dessert that is one of their top sellers. Based on the lack of ambience, and insane wait time as well as the crowd that you have to fight to get to this place, I am 50-50 on whether I would return. The golden toast might bring me back here. Overall, I think this place is just one of those places that you have to try at least once, and if you do, please GET THE GOLDEN TOAST.

Tuesday I was here right after dinner. Ambiance wise it was packed as usual but got a seat instantly with my friend. Since I've been here before many times I wanted to get something different and decided to get the limited fall item which was the chestnut butterscotch cake with condensed milk ice cream. It was sooo good! The cake itself was nice and warm and pairing it with the ice cream was just right for the cold weather. Will go back as always and maybe try something else new haha.

Super popular dessert spot in East Village offering numerous unique and tasty desserts. Luckily, I went with two others so was able to try out 3 different options. The Harvest had a pot with a soft strawberries and cream cheesecake and Oreo crumbs on top which was very good. It was not overly sweet and very creamy. I was instructed by our waitress to "water the plant" in the pot by pouring earl gray milk tea on it which added a nice tea flavor that went well with the strawberries and cream. The raspberry sorbet scoop on the side was delicious and perfectly sweet. It would've been extra cool if the pot was also edible, but alas, it was not. I still give them bonus points for making this unique-looking dessert. The Milky Puff was also tasty with a banana brûlée pastry and sweet corn flakes on top. There was also a cool looking white chocolate honeycomb (thought it was an actual honeycomb at first). The Mighty Malt was my favorite of the 3 desserts I tried. The horlicks cream puff pastry was baked perfectly and was delicious. The coffee ice cream scoop on the side is great if you are a coffee fan. Each of these desserts was $13.95, so definitely on the pricey side, but if you are looking for a unique and quality dessert, then this might just be the price you have to pay. This place gets super busy during the weekends / peak hours, and we had to wait 30-45 min for a table on a Sunday night (joined the waitlist by scanning the QR code outside the door). Not surprisingly, all the tables were filled inside, leading to a very lively environment. While it was kind of packed inside and the place is slightly small, it was not to an uncomfortable level where people are too close together. The staff were friendly and the service speed was pretty quick. Overall, I wouldn't say I was blown away by my experience here, but the desserts were definitely tasty and unique (although there is still room for them to take the uniqueness/quality to the next level). Be aware of the potential busyness and wait times, but if you are willing to wait, then I would highly recommend visiting Spot Dessert Bar for a nice dessert.

This was my second time at Spot Dessert Bar. I love the variety and presentation of desserts offered. The golden toast had a nice crunch on the outside and reminded me of fresh toast. The toast was a bit dry on its own, but I enjoyed eating it with the condensed milk ice cream scoop.

One of the coolest dessert bars I have every been to. The music was poppin, the decoration was cute, the staff was friendly, and of course the desserts were spectacular. Everything we had on the dessert menu was to die for, you can not go wrong with anything here. If you are looking for a great place to kickback after a meal, this is an excellent option!

I was blown away by the delicious desserts! We ordered multiple desserts and they were all so different. Expect a wait as this place is super popular. This is my to-go dessert spot where I take my friends when we want to satisfy our sweet cravings. Any dish you get will be delicious. Some desserts we shared were The Harvest, Milky Puff, Golden Toast, and Matcha Lava.

Dragonfruit dessert, "brown sugar" coffee (sugar must have been at the bottom). Hibiscus cake.
    Clari B.

Came in after dinner elsewhere that didn't have dessert. Seeing as I've been here before and didn't experience anything too awful we popped in for a treat. We ordered two desserts that didn't sound too sweet (hibiscus cake and dragonfruit crip). When the dessert was placed down my partners came with a hot fruit sauce and this is where we noticed something was off the waiter. As they were about to pour the concoction they said "careful it's hot" and proceeded to splash the berry sauce, from as high as they could hold it. It was indeed hot as it fell on their arm. After being awestruck by this, we chuckled and I craved a little pick me up. Ordered a coffee I didn't see on the physical menu but on the billboard while waiting. I wasn't sure if the waiter heard me as it was so loud from the music and people trying to talk over it. I expected it to be sweet and not too strong, boy was I wrong. 1st I was given the wrong version of my drink (iced not hot). 2nd it was a dead eye with a splash of milk. It was so strong I feared for my heart and opted from drinking it. I wanted to take it home. The waiter brought me a to go cup to pour my very hot coffee myself at my seat... I did not entertain them and after waiting 30+ minutes to flag them down to do it two different waitstaff members came to check us out. One for the check the other for the coffee (why though...). The waiter with my coffee poured it at the table, smh, of course it spilled but luckly was ice cold from waiting so long. There wasn't a long wait to get in but was to order and leave as the waiter was in their own bubble. Clearly they were feeling the music hard but also on who knows what number of coffee. Overall this spot doesn't have an extensive dessert option and doubled with the inefficient waitstaff I think I'm done parroting (been coming for a few years). Everything was tasty and not overwhelming sweeet.

I have been coming here since my highschool days, so this review is long overdue. Nestled into a basement-like location, I have always enjoyed coming here. The tapas are always fun to share and the aroma of the dessert bar always fills the air. I have tried a wide variety of their tapas such as the yuzu eskimo, matcha lava cake, the harvest, golden toast, etc. All are classics to get and it never disappoints! I love all of them equally and differently. I do find the desserts a little too sweet if you decide to eat an entire tapa yourself. I definitely recommend sharing so you get to enjoy all the flavors without it being overwhelming. The service is always great here, the staff is enthusiastic to serve you. My friend really enjoyed her cold yuzu citrus drink that she got. I usually like their thai iced tea floats as well.

I've never tried a Japanese cheesecake before and was extremely excited to be able to pick up some treats for my coworkers as well as my partner's birthday cake from Keki. Ordering is fairly straightforward and done with a simple machine outfront. Once your order is ready one of the staff members hands it to you through a window; there is no inside area accessible to customers but our food came quickly and we took it back to the office. The cheesecake was fantastic. I read a bit about the background of the shop online and how the owner really cares about using high-quality ingredients, specifically dairy. It was justas described, light and bouncy. I enjoyed how it was not overly sweet and found that it was all too easy to devour the entire cake over the course of two days. Despite it not having much weight to it, it traveled surprisingly well as I took it home on my three train commute! Similar to what others have said, the real highlight of the shop, in my opinion, are their cream puffs. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but the outer layer was thin yet had a nice little crunch to it. We tried the classic milk, cookies & cream pistachio and ube flavors. Our favorite was the pistachio by far, which had such a unique yet decadent flavor and our second favorite was the milk cream puff. There's not much else I can say other than you really have to go here and try the desserts yourself. If you're a fan of Japanese desserts that are rich yet not too sweet, you'll be a fan of Keki.

And I commonly see the upstairs for private events like baby showers, bridal showers, or birthday parties on social media. After dinner with my friends, I was looking for dessert and I was glad to see this location closes relatively late on a weekday night at 11 pm. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a waiter who led us to one of the purple velvet chair booths that was perfect for two people and another waiter brought us a pitcher of water almost immediately. The menu is on a QR code already on the table and we were given ample of time to decide. My friend and I both already knew what we wanted to order. I got the purple Yam Souffle which takes 25 minutes to make and my friend got the fried squid tails. We also got a signature Rose Green Milk Tea to share. The waitress who took our order has great memory and recalled all of our items without writing it down. She also reminded me that I could adjust the ice and sugar levels of my drink which I had completely forgotten and would have got annoyed if my drink came out 100% sweetness. Another thing is that my drink order frequently comes out wrong at other locations so I was glad she got it right! Green tea instead of black tea and with milk instead of without milk. The purple Yam Souffle is just like the other locations. Hot, soft cakey texture balanced with an ice cold red bean Ice-Cream. So delicious! The squid tails on the other hand was not what we expected. It came out burnt and hard. The outer batter was not crispy either. We informed one of the waiters and he brought it back to inform the kitchen staff. We received a new batch that was not as burnt and had more flavoring this time around. However, the squid was still hard and not like the ones we get from other locations with smaller crispier pieces. Overall, it was still a good experience and I love the decorations at this location! This might be my second favorite location after the Flushing one. Would love to come back for brunch or hi-tea. Or regular food options when I have not already eaten dinner. My usual go-tos are the twister fries, Santa Fe chicken rolls, fried salted crispy chicken, and the trio dessert combo. However, this location has a lot more variety! The rose fragrant smelled so good and the milk tea also tasted good and has a hint of rose taste. The cake was good, the boba was well cooked, chewy and flavorful! This time there was an unpleasant experience. At first when the Dubai affogato was served, we did not realize that the amount of the coffee was little until we saw another customer's dish that the volume of their coffee looked significantly more than ours. My friend brought it to the waitress attention but the waitress brushed it off and did not acknowledge our concern. When we finished and were about to leave, the same waitress came over and showed us that the container of the coffee was different and hence the volume of the coffee looked different. At this point, we did not care for it anymore. We would have been fine if the staff acknowledged our concern. We thought that maybe using standardized containers for the coffee would avoid this problem. Other than that, the food and drinks were good.
