Had dinner here our first night in Zion. There was a short period of about 25 minutes but well worth it. My wife had the duck which was tender, rich, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. My daughter had the pasta which was cheesy, rich, and cooked perfectly. I had the lamb shank which was tender, full of flavor, and falling off the bone. Such a great introduction to Zion. My only suggestion would be to expand the wine by the glass options. read more

I came here for a dinner with my family a few weeks ago. The space is big and they could accommodate our large party in the main room. Wait staff was attentive and helpful. They have a pretty extensive drink menu with varying prices depending on which brand you get. I got whatever the cheapest whiskey was with Coke and WOW do they know how to make a drink here! I wasn't even halfway through the drink and I was already buzzed. Not to mention the drink was only $6! If you're looking to drink in Zion, go here. Best value for your money! For dinner, I got the Southwest Chicken. The menu at the time had listed the salsa as being mango avocado. I'm not really a fan of that kind, so I had requested them to add the Southwest salsa from the Steak dish assuming it was a basic pico de gallo salsa. The waiter agreed but when he brought the food, the mango avocado salsa was on the chicken. When I inquired about it, he said he checked with the chef and that was the only salsa available. Not sure why the two dishes called it something different so that was kind of odd. But I ate it anyway and it was good! The portions aren't crazy here so you're not left feeling in a food coma. Everything was really flavorful. All in all, it's a solid option in the area, albeit a little pricey for the food. I'd love to come back and try more next time I'm in town! read more

The Spotted Dog opens at 5:00 pm for dinner. We got there at 4:50 and had a line formed of 20 folks. That's a good sign the restaurant is worth it and popular. Got our seat and had excellent service and food. Super minute, I had the wild game meatloaf. Outstanding! Excellent wine list. Outdoor dining has heaters for the cooler seasons. Prices in line for what is delivered. We will be returning customers. They take reservations and might consider this if arriving after 5:00. Really good food! I had the pasta purses -- sweeter than I expected for a pasta dish but it was good, especially the bread that came with it. Really enjoyed the field greens and beets salad with blue cheese and walnuts. My mom got the lamb shoulder and it was really good. Nice restaurant to go to in Springdale. I had no idea what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. Seems really high brow, but this is Zion and outdoor wear is appropriate. The flatbread was a little undercooked, but the roasted tomato sauce was excellent. The artichoke came with lemon/mayo and garlic butter. Nice to dip both. The kids menu has a steak dish, but I hear the sauce is a little much. Maybe the chef could hold it. Turkey looked great. The green beans tasted a little like grass though. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated with nice lights framed around the windows. My wife had the Purses with Sage Butter Pasta and I had the Wild Game Meatloaf. We shared the Caesar Salad. This place was a very pleasant surprise. Popped in after a day of hiking in Zion, still in our active wear. The name and the casual outdoor decor does not do it justice. The inside gives a much classier vibe and the cuisine was incredible. Gorgeous presentation, creative dishes and impeccable service from the wait staff, Andrea was perfect. We had a large group of 12 and the variety and caliber of the entrees were impressive. We tried the brie, crabcakes, and smoked trout salad as appetizers. I ordered the rabbit. It was tender, the veggies were perfectly cooked and the sauce was so savoury. I was very happy with everything I ate. They also have an extensive wine menu, but I went with the Dog patch amber, it was good. I finished with a delicious lemon cake and a cappuccino. Had such a lovely evening sitting on the back patio. I had the pesto pasta and it was divine!

I want to give this place 5 stars so badly. The patio, the ambience, the staff, and MOST of the food was amazing. The reason I am giving it 4 stars is due to the seasonal veggies that come with the majority of the main entrees. I understand that this restaurant prides itself in providing fresh, locally sourced produce which should absolutely be left to speak for itself in terms of flavor, and not over saturated with seasoning. However, we were let down to see such high quality produce go so unnoticed by the chefs on the dishes we received. Even simple salt and pepper would've elevated the overall flavor of the veggies and truly let them shine as they should. It was a bit confounding to me what the intention was of the veggies on the plate, and they felt unfinished in terms of flavor. I had the duck with the prickly pear gastric which is an awesome local twist on duck à l'orange. It was phenomenal and cooked perfectly! My wife had the ahi tuna which was paired with a risotto cake that was out of this world good. We shared the mushroom starter, and it was deliciously complex in flavor which shows that the chefs can absolutely season veggies perfectly. The proteins were the star of the night, and the old fashioned was also incredible. Both of those alongside the mushroom app were tremendous and absolutely worth the stop here. I am writing this review as advice to the restaurant to step the seasonal veggies up slightly and this will be a 5/5 star restaurant in my opinion. Located in quaint Springdale right outside the park. Came here on our 2nd nite staying in Zion National Park Lodge when we couldn't get a reservation the first nite at the Lodge restaurant. People were waiting an hour plus - no thank you. We made a reservation here which is highly recommended because it is one of the few really nice restaurants in town. It has a cute little standup bar where you can grab a drink while waiting for your table, and a good sized dining area. We had a delicious meal and good service. read more

We were pleasantly surprised that a restaurant like this would be so close to a National Park. We came to eat here after our 2 day narrows hike to celebrate and the meal was fit for the feat! Loved that they had dishes made from local ingredients and microbrews. We got the clams appetizer (special that night) to start and it was great! The server mentioned 15 pieces but there were well over 20. I got the local meat meatloaf - that night it was elk, venison, and beef. Great stuff, wrapped in bacon too! The trout dish and steak were also good. But the best part: bread pudding!!! That was sooo good. We also got the chocolate cake, which was okay, but the bread pudding really, really good. Waitstaff was really professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. Will definitely be back here when I go to Zion again. :) We were stuffed and happy and ready for our next hike the next day: angels landing! There was a mix of nicely dressed people and hikers (like us) in the crowd. Stayed at Flanigan's Inn and ate here twice for breakfast (5 stars) and once for dinner (3.5 stars) Outdoor patio dining (plenty of indoor dining as well) has to be one of the best views for breakfast in Springdale. Great breakfast buffet - pastry tray, hot items include egg with fresh herb, sausages and bacon. Plenty of fresh fruit variety and cereals, yogurts and bread. Stop #3 in the Springdale bus line - very short walk to the entrance to the park after breakfast. Great service for both lunch and dinner. For those with electric vehicles - Flannigan's has both a 240V Tesla and 240V leaf (J1772 charger) Dinner was solid - served an interesting 'nan bread that was more like a tortilla. Smoked trout was a highlight appetizer - with enough for two. Entrees included pumpkin seed encrusted trout - two great trout dishes that nite, shrimp pasta and some mango salsa chicken - standard salsa but very well crispened chicken. Make sure you make dinner reservations (everyone wants to eat at the same time after a long day of hiking). We couldnt get any reservation from 6:45-8:15 on either nite, but went 15 min before our 8:30 reservation and was seated early. Waiter was very helpful with menu and wine list. read more

Loved everything in this restaurant, from the food, service, elegante and style. Initially we thought we were going to some sort of British bus (somehow the same didn't seem to match something else). Then we got surprised that the ambiance was more classic than the fun name seemed to indicate. The dishes were huge, so we shared a pasta al pesto dish with chicken. So delicious and full of pine nuts, lots of them, which is not common in this type of dish (as those nuts are expensive and some restaurants tend to be cheap on that). Great flavor and enough quantity for 2 people (even if intended to only one person). I also got the parsnip soup with roasted garlic. What a delicatessen, super elegant flavor and presentation. I really appreciated that I asked to try it out and very quickly the server brought me a nice sample. I instantly loved it (and i recreated this week in my kitchen almost as good:). We started with a wedge of brie cheese with an orange and cherry marmalade and then shared a bowl of sweet potato, maple, and thyme soup. omg... so amazing. I would have been perfectly content with just that, but we had already ordered the pork chop and leg if lamb. Needless to say... we pack up most of the main course for the hotel. I wouldn't recommend bringing little children here. You can dress casual, but the food is more like fine dining with a very reasonable price. Even though we didn't have a reservation and were seated within 10 minutes, this place gets busy so one is definitely recommended. read more
