So this maybe the most undisclosed treasure in Lynchburg, or right outside Lynchburg. We had shrimp, ribs, and chicken along with Mac and cheese, double portion potatoes and gravy, slaw, sweet potatoes and not to mention the biscuits, yummmmm. We had so much food, and yes you get to take the left overs with you. Now I will say we liked the chicken more than the shrimp and the ribs, well they were good but they just tasted like ribs, my husband loved them, they were just ribs to me. But my husband has already planned our nexted menu when we go back, so those passing though and you locals out there looking for good food, give this place a try. It's not much to look at but it's definitely a hidden treasure.

On October 20, 2018, The Rustburg High School Class of 93 held our 25th Class Reunion at The Spring House Dining and Reception Hall. The owner, Rick, and his lovely wife, went out of their way to accommodate us after our first venue selection was affected by flooding earlier this year. The couple worked with us to provide the venue and menu selection that was within our advertised budget so we wouldn't have to contact our guests to ask for more, and they EXCEEDED our expectations! We were treated like royalty - from excellent food and service, to genuine southern hospitality, the staff treated us BETTER than family! Rick and his staff opened a private bar for drinks and dancing for our guests, and then we had the banquet room for our evening dinner. Such a beautiful location! Our menu consisted of delicious fresh tossed salad, chicken with dijonnaise sauce, roast beef and honey glazed ham, along with red bliss potatoes, fresh green beans, corn pudding, and macaroni and cheese. With rolls and butter! YUM! We truly cannot thank them enough for all they did for us. Not only was it a lovely venue, but they are beautiful people. We owe them tremendously for making this a Reunion to Remember!

I love family style restaurants! As far as I know this it the only one in the area, and it is a great one at that. The interior is set up like a big house with multiple dining rooms instead of bedrooms. They have a great deck overlooking a pond with a water fountain. The staff are extremely friendly, helpful and make sure that the dishes is always filled. The food is wonderful! Each dish is bottomless and is meant to be shared and passed around. Their friend chicken is one of my favorites and the prime rib is very good as well. This is traditional southern food. There are many sides to choose from, but the macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes and green beans are my favorite. Each meal also comes with delicious buiscuts, cornbread and sweet tea. They have live music here on the weekends often and it is also a great place for events. The restaurant is a good ways away from the "city", but worth the drive if you have a group of people you want to have a fun dinner with. I am not sure what the price range is because thankfully someone else is always buying, but I am sure it is worth the price :)

    Family style country cooking.

It's next to a small playground and new amphitheater, so I'm sure this place gets quite busy on weekends. One person in our party said her salad had the best dressing she's ever had. The fried pickles were good. The shrimp was good. One bartender was good. Cons - We walked in and basically weren't sure what to do. There was a woman at we thought was a hostess stand, but she never said anything to us. We finally asked if we needed to check in with her to get seated. We did. But it was kind of weird. One bartender was awful. Never made eye contact. Wouldn't take any orders. Acted like she wanted to be anywhere else. I thought the Caesar salad was ok. It came with lacquered salmon. I would have loved the salmon, but not lacquered. It couldn't be made to order. Ok fine. I ordered it the way it was described. There was nothing lacquered about that salmon. It also was shredded on top of the salad and was maybe two ounces. That's ridiculous. Our server wasn't very helpful and not very attentive. I'm sure many people have had great experiences there, but I'm not sure I would take the time to go back.

A unique and interesting take on pizza…read more This pizza is served on what I call a "cracker crust"... Like thin crust pizza, but much crispier. The crust is a little tough and requires quite a bit of extra chewing, which I was not prepared for. Nevertheless, it was pretty good. I ordered the southern barbecue pizza without bacon. It included brisket, chicken, corn, red onions, and a drizzle of barbecue sauce. Unfortunately, the chicken was unseasoned. I think the pizza would have tasted would have tasted better with a little seasoning on the chicken. However, the star of my dinner was the Downeast Caramel Apple cider on tap. However good you think it sounds, it tastes SO much better than that. If you happen to be near this restaurant during the last few weeks of fall, you HAVE to try this. As a matter of fact, if you see this cider at ANY bar or restaurant you're at, you must try it. Absolutely amazing! My server did an incredible job being pretty much the only server on the floor in a mostly packed restaurant. The bartender was on the floor waiting tables as well but between the two of them, they did an incredible job. Overall, this wasn't the best pizza I've ever had, but after a long day of travel, it hit the spot.

They just do them all very slowly or at least they did when I was there. We came here on a Monday evening, and it was somewhat busy but there were visible empty tables and a couple spots at the bar. We went to the bar and waited awhile before the bartender asked what we wanted. I didn't ask for a flight because he seemed too busy. Whatever I wanted they were out of, but I ended up with an Imperial 16-point IPA which was quite tasty. I also got some chicken nachos, but I had to go stand in line to order them. They were adequate but not worth the wait. The place was very disorganized. They had workers always standing by the hostess desk, but the bartender was overwhelmed. Seemed like they should have had more than one, after all it is a brewery. Would have loved to try more beer but we just left and went back into Lexington for another round at another place. I don't know maybe it was just a bad night.
